Updated NEW Review: 2/5/24 We had to cancel our service with LTK. We started having issues with appointments & service when we purchased our new home. We repeatedly told the representative that we didn't need service as no one was living in the home & we hadn't seen any ants. We would call them when we needed to restart service. I would repeatedly get texts or calls stating "the tech will be arriving on XX day" & I would have to remind them to cancel the appointment that I didn't make, the house wasn't ready as it was still a construction zone. In April 2023, while we were in New York for my brother-in-laws funeral, I received notification of a charge for service to the house. While texting (definitely a pro about the company), I explained that I never received a text or call about an appointment because I would've canceled. The rep stated they sent them over because it had been so long since our previous service. What kind of company TELLS you that service will happen and you're going to pay for it? The company eventually apologized & we tried to make it work with them as they stated our next service would be free. When the house was ready & we had them come out in November 2023, they charged us. I contacted them that we were incorrectly charged, they stated they'd "look into it" but I never heard back until February 2, 2024 when they informed me the tech would be out that Monday. When I mentioned they never contacted me about the refund and assumed we were parting ways, they replied that they had tried to contact (no text confirmation of this) but in the previous message they stated we'd get our July 2023 service free for the oversite and incorrect charge for April 2023. As we had service in November 2023, not July, there wouldn't be a refund. So because we didn't need service in July, we still paid for a service we didn't ask for. I don't know what has happened to the company but it's not what it used to be. We've given them several chances to make the situation right but we've reached the end of our patience with their customer service. The techs we've had all seem to be pleasant & knowledgeable, which is why I changed my 5 star review to 2 stars. OLD REVIEW: We've been with License To Kill for over a decade now. The technicians are always prompt & professional, clearly communicating any issues they find. The office staff are always pleasant when they call to remind me of our every-other-month service and are very patient if I have to reschedule. I highly recommend their service.

I really wanted this to work out. I waited a week for the appointment. At the time of the appointment, they were running behind needed an hour. The tech did not provide that same grace as I was 3 mins late and he left. (Please note that I called prior to, but spoke with different CSR.) I called back and was told the tech would return after completing the next client. He never returned. No one called. No one returned my calls. I was ghosted - I waited - I waited the following day until closing as well; hoping there was a demonstration of professionalism by at least returning my calls or to decline my service, but nothing. I called someone else. The tech called back and scheduled within 48 hrs.

I did not have a good experience with License to Kill, Inc. (LTK). When their representative came to my house to give me an estimate, he said that he could not give me a copy of the terms and conditions until I had paid the $877.00 fee for the initial treatment. After I paid the fee and received the terms and conditions, I saw that they do not provide damage coverage for slab/solid foundations, which is a major portion of my house and shed/shop. I sent LTK an email informing them that I had signed an agreement with another company that provides the coverage I wanted. After more than seven weeks later I received a check in the amount of $727.00, $150.00 less than the amount I paid. Their response was “the $150.00 was an administrative fee that was deducted from your refund. This is because we spent significant time and expertise on your inspection and proposal. We also incurred some expenses in preparing the proposal.”--- “We understand this may be disappointing, but we believe this fee is fair and reasonable. --- While it was not our intention to not send your refund minus our administrative fee promptly there was a personnel change that caused the loss of information to not be advanced.” In the information I was given before I sent the $877.00, I did not see anything that said that $150.00 would be deducted if I did not choose LTW to perform the termite treatment.

I have been a License 2 Kill (AAchren before L2K) customer for about 20 years. They service our home for termites, insects, and rodents. L2K has done several jobs in the crawl space, and since I do not go under the house myself, I have to trust the company that does the work to do the right thing. The fact that I have stayed with L2K for 20 years (and added pest/rodent services) means that I trust them to be honest and fair with me. The owners are great and the technicians are polite and professional. I appreciate their service.

Provider response

Mr. MacKay, we appreciate you for entrusting us with your pest, rodent, crawlspace, and termite needs all these long years! We appreciate you & your homemade pickles keep us coming back :)

Awesome customer service - it all starts with the friendly voice of Rebecca who says "Hello". They make you feel so at ease - which I was not when I called and had these little critters scurrying around our floors... yuck! They have warranties on services, friendly techs, friendly staff members. They walk you through what you need and don't try to sell you what you don't need. They truly educate you and I appreciate that so much. They are prompt and very respectful of you, your home, your pets. Oh - products are pet-friendly! Yay. No one wants their fur babies to be harmed! I highly recommend License to Kill. If you want quality service with a smile and attention to detail that fits everyone's budget - they are the service provider for you.

LTK came to my residence/crawl space to perform a mold and fungus treatment in preparation for a new dehumidifier and vapor barrier installation. LTK provided the treatment services through the contractor that I am using for the crawl space services. LTK is used by JES crawlspace and have a great reputation. Anthony from LTK was great. He answered my questions before and after the service. I would highly recommend them for any similar service!

Don't trust them they don't follow through and leave you hanging out to dry.

Provider response

Dear Mr. Gray,

We are sorry that you feel you have had an unsatisfactory experience with us! We have reviewed the circumstances of your situation, and as we have already explained to you, your issue is with the electrician who did the work in your home and not with License to Kill. We are not electricians and therefore have no ability to solve your electrical problems. We paid for the electrician to complete the initial work on your home when your dehumidifier was installed last year. It was brought to our attention that you instructed the electrician to complete the work differently than how he suggested the work be completed. Therefore, if you have decided to have the wiring changed, it is no longer an issue associated with our company. Your warranty covered problems and routine maintenance for your dehumidifier. Last time we came out to service your unit, the system was working with no issues. The decision that you have made to have the wiring to the unit changed is one that is completely independent of our company. Please address any further issues that you have to the electrician who installed the initial wiring for your system, we are not responsible.
