We have had a contract with Back Bay Pest & Mosquito for several years but recently needed their help with a rat problem in our crawlspace. Our technician, Zach Horne, was outstanding! He spent two days here sealing up every single possible point of entry. Thorough, neat, exceptional customer service! Zach took time to show us areas of concern and explained everything he was doing to ensure we no longer have an issue. People don't like to think they have a 'rat' problem, rather it's just mice. But it appears the roof rats are endemic to most of Virginia Beach. We stopped the problem before it affected our home, HVAC, plumbing. We can't thank Zach enough for his addition to detail and his stellar work ethic!

Great Technician!
I selected this company based on their excellent google reviews, submitted an online request and someone followed up with me by phone on 9/29 to schedule an appointment. A man showed up about an hour and a half earlier than our appt, I happened to be working from home that day so this was ok, he explained he didn't have a crawl space suit so he couldn't go in our crawl space, but could go ahead and take a look at the house. After discussion of services, etc, he said he could return on Thursday at 1 with a suit to inspect the crawl space and get us a quote for services. He input the appt in his phone and left, never taking a look at the house. I figured he would just do it when he returned Thursday, however he skipped our Thursday appt with no call/no show. Have never heard back from the company. Very disappointing as it seems customer service has disappeared overall from many businesses. No follow up, nothing. I thought about calling the company back, but at this point first impressions are everything. Had they realized they missed an appt, called and apologized, I would have happily rescheduled.

He was here for 13 minutes. Never asked if I wanted the inside treated and when I went to look for him he was already gone. Says he checked bait boxes but not sure how he could have done everything that was said to have been done in that amount of time. Also, wouldn’t the chemicals he put down just have been washed away in heavy rain that we experienced shortly after?

I was being charged for a service that wasn't being completed. Bait stations and traps were not being checked.

Hello, we apologize the card was charged after only the outside was completed, it was set up on automatic payments. We refunded the card and scheduled Dreven out to redo your service for free service this quarter. We hope that Dreven met your needs both inside and outside on your service.
Back Bay did not perform the repairs they said in their own estimate that were needed and still billed us for the full estimate. They tried to jack up the house without lifting the house under load bearing walls which did not work. $2880 in work essentially wasted.

Mr McCann was on the selling side. We were initially hired by the buyers and in contact with them. The buying side asked us to send invoices in before work was complete, because they needed it to prepare for closing. Mr. McCann apparently was unaware of this, got the invoice and thought we were completely finished . All work was later(following week) completed in full as scheduled with buying side. The buyer who is also a real estate agent actually crawled under the house with us and verified that everything was done as per the contract and they are happy with the work. I reached out to Mr. McCann to let him know about this. I had assumed that he had been notified by the buying agent and I apologized to him for the miscommunication. He was understanding and very polite . He has not been under the house, and looked at the work since it was fully complete because now the buyers have possession of the home. Mr. McCann Seems like he is OK with everything at this point now . I’m the future we will try to send all scheduling notifications to both sides so this doesn’t reoccur .
I reached out to Back Bay Pest & Mosquito to come examine my home because I heard great things about this company. The tech came out to my home and was very knowledgeable, professional and informative. I liked the service I received from the tech and wanted to use your services; however, I never received a quote. The tech told me he would email it to me. I even reached out a few days after the tech came to my home via email to the office to let them know I never received a quote and they told me they would follow up with the tech and have him reach out to me and I never received a call or anything. I am disappointed because I really liked you all and wanted to use your services.

I was turned off immediately by their poor customer service and lack of professionalism. I requested a consult at a specific time to ensure that I would be home and have my concerns addressed. The technician stated he had a cancellation so he was wondering if I was available. I informed I was not, and he made certain remarks about traffic, etc, etc ( clearly he was ready to end his day) and jokes that were tasteless. I called the office to cancel and the girl on the phone did not care at all about my concerns. I'd rather go somewhere that feel valued as a customer and have my time respected.

Hi I’m sorry you weren’t happy with your experience with us . I spoke with the inspector it was last appointment Friday afternoon Fourth of July weekend . He was coming from Newport News to you and was going to be a little early was seeing if you be home and if not he would wait for you no problem . He made a joke about having a bunch of paperwork etc to catch up on anyway while he was waiting for you . According to him you said ok but then called the office and canceled . I’m sorry you felt rushed but you are right he was hoping to get done a little early as he was leaving town when he got home for the holiday . He lives about hour and 15 min from you . I spoke with the office person I’m sorry if she didn’t seem concerned she said she had offered a different inspector etc to try to save the appointment.We do value our customers time so if you ever decide to try us again please ask for the manager and I will make sure we make it up to you.

No matter how much the service techs come out and spray there will continue to be bug, it also hard to get Back Bay to work with your schedule in the evenings.....

You weren’t home for the scheduled time and wanted the tech to go inside your home with no one home to treat and he did not feel comfortable. You were upset wanted owner to call you and I did right away and scheduled a different tech on va beach route to drive out to Hampton after 5 pm the same day to do the inside service for you . Then you give one star review and want to cancel . Then you call back four months later call back like nothing happened wanting us to do another service for you .
Called and asked about getting quote for removal of moles from yard. Had to call back next day and again was told would get a call back. On third day someone called and said I would have to call a landscaping company. I have 2 other local companies arranged to come and give me quotes for mole issues.

We called back first thing this morning to let you know we don’t do moles. I don’t see where you called multiple days but if so I do apologize. It looks like the lead came through Angie’s List/HomeAdvisor and I know they sent your information to a bunch of companies so maybe some confusion there have a nice day
The people are thorough and honest compared to Critter control. The prices are more affordable too.
