Nick came to our house in Columbia, MO, ward 3, and we had an amazing experience. He was polite, patient, and extremely professional. He gave us information for how to support our pest control needs, and was extremely kind and considerate. He also seemed to enjoy our free flying parakeets! lol. Please use Wingate any time you need pest control, as we’ve used them for over 8 years and it has never been anything but satisfactory! Thanks again Nick and Wingate!

Wingate Pest Control does my annual inspection. They have a scheduled time and are courteous enough to call when they are on the way. My inspection was done by Todd who is friendly and personable. He always lets me know if there’s anything I need to do to ensure my home stays pest free.

We have been customers of Wingate Pest Control for over 5 years, but our recent experience has led us to end our relationship with the company. I feel it’s important to share this situation to provide clarity for anyone considering their services. On March 12th, Wingate claimed to have performed an exterior pest control service at our home. However, after thoroughly reviewing our 24/7 exterior home surveillance footage (which covers all sides of our property), we confirmed without a doubt that no technician from Wingate ever arrived at our address, nor did any Wingate vehicle even drive by our home that day—or during that entire week. Additionally, I was home for most of the day in question and can personally verify no service was rendered. When we brought this to their attention, Wingate initially responded by stating their tracking system showed their technician on our street and in the surrounding areas. However, being on the street and being at our property are two very different things. When we asked them to share their tracking records to verify service at our address specifically, they did not provide any further evidence. What was especially disappointing was the tone of their communication. Instead of acknowledging our concerns or offering any explanation for the discrepancy, their reply seemed dismissive and insinuated that the service was, in fact, completed—despite clear evidence to the contrary. They mentioned that they had made their “best efforts” to resolve the situation, though, in reality, they had done nothing beyond removing the invoice for services they did not perform. While removing a charge for an unrendered service is the bare minimum, we expected more in terms of transparency and accountability—especially since this is not the first time we’ve had an issue like this with Wingate. On a previous occasion, they at least took ownership and rectified the situation appropriately. This time, it felt as though our concerns were brushed off. We value professionalism, honesty, and clear communication—qualities that were severely lacking in this exchange. We cannot recommend Wingate Pest Control based on our recent experience. We hope this review encourages them to reevaluate how they handle customer concerns and to ensure their service records accurately reflect the work they perform. ______ Regarding their response, the email they mentioned was actually the second one I sent and their reply was not to me, rather to my husband. I am still more than willing to provide the full video showing there was no technician present on the day in question. Suggesting that my review is counterproductive entirely misses the point. Reviews are not written for the business’s benefit but to inform other potential customers. In that sense, my review is absolutely productive. Once again, I caution anyone considering this company to install external cameras and review the footage consistently. The video from my camera, clearly showing no Wingate personnel ever drove by our home, is available on YouTube for anyone to see. Additionally, the technician who falsely submitted the work order is named Logan Dalton. And to reiterate—how could I possibly be satisfied with a service that was never performed?
Provider response
Hello.
The first email we received about this situation was titled "Termination of Services and Request for Immediate Balance Adjustment" in which you explained that you did not see the technician on camera at the house or driving by, that you wanted us to remove the invoice from the account, and you explicitly stated "I expect confirmation of the balance adjustment soon. Beyond that, we won’t need any further communication." This did not provide an opportunity for us to explain the situation outside of the result that you requested. We replied "Hello Ellen, I looked into this matter and our tracking system does show our technician on Katy Lane for over an hour on the day in question, and in the neighboring streets all day. However, our number one goal is to make sure that our clients are completely satisfied with our services and despite our best efforts, it seems that you are still not satisfied. In good faith, I went ahead and cancelled your services and removed the invoice on your account and we will no longer perform services there after we pick up our exterior rodent stations this week. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you!" I do find this to be a professional response and the resolution that was requested of us. You then replied "If your technicians were on Katy ln it was not at our property. You’re welcome to share your tracking system records here if you’d like. Can you explain what you mean by “despite our best efforts”? What steps or effort was applied to a resolution? You’ve literally done nothing. Why should we be satisfied? Removing the invoice for services that were not rendered is the bare minimum and you or your organization took no other measures to rectify the situation. This is a repeat issue with Wingate, at least the previous instance you were willing to admit your mistake and take action to resolve it." It did feel at this point that the situation was turning away from being constructive, as we had already taken measures to fulfill our promise of guaranteeing satisfaction with services, and instead we were now being interrogated about our internal measures, from which that information provides nothing for a customer to gain. We respected your original wish to not further communicate beyond the balance confirmation, so to come to our reviews and post the same story is counter-productive to the resolutions which we already provided exactly to your request. Again, we apologize if you were not satisfied with services and we wish you the best in the future. Thank you.

I unfortunately unknowingly moved into an apartment here in Columbia that had bed bugs. Which were treated the day i moved in by preferred pest control that i had to pay for out if pocket and they were amazing, would definitely recommend over this unprofessional place. However my property owner initiated their own inspection and chose wingate. One of their employees Kelsey pickering reached out to a friend of mine and gave out my information that she obtained from their client system to call me trashy for having the inspection. I then called to get this resolved and spoke to one of the owners about client confidentiality. Her name was Alexa, to which she said nothing would be done about the situation. I did report to the BBB so maybe they will have a better understanding on how to run a business. If you are in the field of pest control you should have an understanding of unwanted pests. Definitely recommend preferred Pest control here in town! They are amazing, understanding, more affordable and PROFESSIONAL. Hope this helps someone’s decision. Update! My friend was just called and threatened for me to remove my review… i will not be removing it. Learn your lesson and treat people better!
Provider response
Ashley, as we spoke about on the phone, I will not interject myself or our business matters into the personal lives of our employees. Client confidentiality and respect is absolutely important to us, but by this public post made sharing the nature of your pest infestation, it is evident that the issue you have is not regarding these things but rather a personal issue at play. There were bed bugs remaining from the previous company that was used, which was why your property managers contacted us. We performed the free inspection we were hired to do and sent the property manager the information and estimate for treatment. I can not allow personal drama to bleed into our professional work space, so I have let the property managers know that we will not be performing further work at your rental ; We would appreciate it if you would do the same courtesy and leave our business out of your personal matters at hand.

Paid for a very expensive service that did not work and then was told I would have to pay again since it was more than 30 days.
Provider response
Hi, Darren! All of our services come with a 30 day warranty. We did go out four times as a part of your one time payment. We did call and leave messages four times to schedule another visit, but we did not receive a call back until three months later. The service you were needing does require multiple visits within a timely manner, or the pests will repopulate. Unfortunately, if we can not get ahold of a property owner for over a month to get into the units and treat, we are unable to do the job we have been hired to do. We would be more than happy to continue work at the property, but the rate of repopulation of these pests would mean that a new treatment protocol would need to be enacted at this time since it has now four month from our first visit. From one small business to another, we truly did what we could to have the property taken care. The treatment protocol can only work if we are given access to the property in the proper times, however. If you would like any further information regarding treatment protocols, infestation causes, or repopulation rates of this specific pests, please shoot me and email in response to the one we just sent and we can give you a call! Thank you!

I have mosquitoes!!! You needed to wait till we had no rain that day.
Provider response
Debbi, Thank you for taking time out to leave us a review. As we told you over the phone and email, we are coming back out to your home to retreat for mosquitos, chiggers and ticks at no additional cost since the rain did not allow up to complete the full treatment. Since you are on the program, you are fully covered for the season so anytime you notice an increase in activity, please let us know and we will take care of it!

SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! I paid for three services (inside, outside, and termite warranty) they only did one of the services. I continued to call and inquire on when they would do the other two, they ignored my calls and messages but continued to send me bills for all three. When they did the inside, they sprayed over my pet food bowls. My pet was sick for three days before I figured out what had happened. I called wingate to find out what to do…and they again never even called me back. They completely ignored me. I’ve called at least twenty times to settle my bill and get the other services done finally. To no avail. Every person I talked to lied to me. So I now have to pay for services they DID NOT do, and they won’t follow up on, otherwise they will send me to collections. It’s a really messed up way to treat people. I’ve never not paid a bill in my life. Now I’m forced to pay for things I didn’t even receive. I should’ve picked one of the other companies, I full regret ever even using them.
Provider response
Hi, Peggy. Thank you for reaching out, we take this very seriously. I do have noted that we have talked to you a few times regarding these services. It looks like we completed the interior service and termite inspection for you on May 5, 2022 but could not complete the exterior due to rain (as it would be ineffective at that time). We returned for a set time appointment on May 9th to complete the exterior treatment. If this service was not satisfactory, we do always offer 30 day warranties on our one time services and would have been more than happy to return again. We take keeping pets safe EXTREMELY seriously and would never treat near a pet bowl. Of course, if any pet became sick subsequent to a treatment, we would be more than happy to immediately send safety sheets for the products we use. Our products used are also listed on the work tickets with the EPA registration number for reference. Regarding contacting our office, our 5 clerical staff members' number one priority is always answering calls and immediately returning voicemails left after hours, just as we took your call immediately today. I checked our phone logs to ensure that my staff was not missing anything and I only showed incoming calls the day the service was ordered (04-28-2022) and a return incoming call after we called regarding your invoice on 11-02-2022. Nonetheless, we have discounted your invoice as a gesture of good faith -- We truly apologize that you were not happy with your services!
This was some left over home warranty that was on my house. They did an annual inspection. Have been doing this for a number of years. Suddenly, this year looked like the price doubled?. Ridiculous. They didn't even do anything last year far as I remember.... about possible termites in a fence? What is this really paying for? Apparently, the rate went up bc I made it to 10 years. Bye wingate.
Provider response
Hello, if you want to contact us directly I would be more than happy to send over the original treatment paperwork for you. Any termite treatment that we performed prior to 2018 did have an initial price for ten years, that went up at the renewal period of 10 years. This cost was included on the warranty and graph paperwork we would have given to you upon original treatment over 10 years ago, and we can send additional copies of at any point upon request! The renewal period also includes a renewal application which is an entire additional termite treatment using Termidor which will remain effective on the property more than another 10 years. Please let me know if you have any questions about this, or if you would like me to send the warranty documents/agreements over to you!

Inspector Todd from Wingate did my home inspection and concluded Quote" No visible evidence of wood destroying insects was observed." Well guess what, the house we end up buying trusting the report was true was severely affected by wood destroying insects and we ended up having to replace all siding, Soffits and facia's costing us and extra $40,000.
Provider response
Hello! After reviewing this report from 2019, we did recommend treatment for Carpenter bees at the inspection and on the 2019 report. We do not, however, make structural comments, as we are not licensed for that. We would also recommend that any person get more than one estimate prior to hiring a contractor. While carpenter bees can damage some wood over long periods of time, they will not require all exterior siding to be replaced.

Not recommended. Contacted 3 weeks ago and they have yet to implement a treatment plan. Who wants to wait that long when you have a pest issue? Poor communication and service!
Cassie Baumann
Would not recommend to anyone. The guy that come out to spray was in and out within 4 mins... didnt even touch the kitchen! I was standing in my living room watching this guy and he seriously didn the fastest job possible then was standing outside by the truck texting on his phone before he decided to spray the perimeter of the house. Definitely wish I would have gotten his name, total waste of our landlords money (and i sure let him know about it too)!
