Steve in the pest control area was very rude and condescending to me when I called about finding mouse droppings. We are on their rodent patrol service. I expect more from a company that's been in business for as many years as Atkins has been. I'm pretty sure the owner wouldn't be pleased with this type of service.

Sad day, today we said goodbye to the pinoak in the backyard it was over 75 years old. Our old friend was struck by lightning 4 years ago, at the time we thought the strike had only killed our refrigerator and wifi. As the years moved on our old friend started losing it battle. It became obvious last year the old guy had very few leafs and few acorns, minor branches started falling. I had an arborist look at it he confirmed our worst fear. Last week I had several tree services bid on its removal. Today Atkins of Columbia came and took the old guy down, Shawn Holt and his crew arrived about 9am and were finishing by 4pm they did a fabulous job with great clean up.

They do way more than I thought! Lawn care, irrigation, pest control, holiday lights, invisible pet fencing, tree removal, land scaping, etc. The staff are awesome and always willing to answer questions. Pricing is fair, and customer service is top notch!

Called to get an appointment to spray pest control Adkins was recommended by the realtor talked to Vicky they were suppose to call me back within a few days never did called again 4 days later and they still didn’t call back. I guess they don’t need the business. we are new to Columbia. I definitely would not recommend Adkins call Steve’s pest control. They came out within 2 hours and acted like they really wanted the business.

We hired Atkins to fix up our lawn and maintain it when we moved to Columbia. The first few times they came, it was fine. Then someone cut our lawn while it was wet, did not attempt to pick up clippings, and large chunks of our lawn died- it got worse over time. We gave them months to try and fix it, but really people only came to mow and did a mediocre job at that. We got a notice from them stating that our bill was seriously past due (hand written). My husband paid it, but I really wish he hadn’t because all Atkins did was ruin our lawn, front and back. I very rarely even write reviews for services unless requested. But the wildly poor quality and lack of professionalism was just inexcusable when we are paying someone for their expertise.

When they show up they do an adequate job. The problem is their responsiveness. I prepaid for irrigation system maintenance. They prepped my irrigation system for the winter, and were supposed to reactivate it for the spring/summer months. I left messages on four consecutive days and nobody bothered to answer. On the fifth day I was assured that someone would call back. This is day seven. Meanwhile, my grass is getting crispier and crispier. It seems that Atkins is not particularly competitive price-wise. When you factor in the third-world customer service, it is a no-brainer to never use this company.

I tried to use them and it was a huge flop. Because I own a new home, the backyard isn’t seeded yet 100% so they wouldn’t even touch the backyard! Why would I pay $50 +dollars just to have the front mowed and why can’t you just cut the backyard? I don’t understand how you can be a lawncare business in 2022 and have RESTRICTIONS on the work you can do! Huge let down!

Called on Tuesday to get an estimate for landscaping work. Was assured someone would call. Heard nothing for 2 days. Called back on Thursday and was told a different person would call in advance to setup a time to look at my project. On Friday I finally got a call and he said "I'll be there in 30 minutes". No, that's not calling in advance to setup an appointment. Was not available any other time, refused to come on Saturday. Will find someone else to do the job. The customer service rep (Alyssa?) was as helpful as she could be. Not her fault that Sean never called me and Brian was not flexible or professional.

Contacted Atkins company after having my home inspected for a sale and termites were found. The gentleman they sent said he was asked to do another report and looked around and found no termites. I told him I had already had an inspection and report done and showed him where termites were found. He dug a little more and said, “yeah there’s termites.” Yes, thank you... Now I’m getting an invoice to pay for a report I already had done and to point out to someone the location of the termites for them. I mentioned this to someone in an email and feel like this service isn’t something I should have to pay for. On top of that, the initial contact that I received from Atkins after coming out to my home was an invoice with absolutely no information on treating the issue I sought them out for. I had to ask for information to get the problem taken care of. All they seemed to care about was getting paid...needless to say, I went with another company and they didn’t charge me anything to come out and look.

I've used Atkins in the past and was very happy with the quality of work they did. But, I contacted them at the beginning of April, never heard anything so I contacted them again at the beginning of May, after 2 weeks I still didn't hear anything so I called them, they said they were leaving a note for the manager and that someone would call me back. They didn't. Very disappointing.

The HOA where I live has hired them to do our mowing! (I’m not sure I would even call it that!). The first time they show up and run over a big Yellow stake in the ground which is attached to a wire dog lead! Which was cut up and bent up all over the yard and they just left it! Im sure the mower doesnt run quite the same now! I asked for it to be replaced. NOPE! No trimming done either, 2nd time they mow they must have forgot to trim AGAIN! 2 weeks later after 3 of my neighbors already mowed there own yards (mind you they Belong to the HOA) they slam mow the yard and again no trimming, they blow grass all over your entry way and don’t even bother to use a blower and clean it off! I am beyond aggravated! Piss Poor Service to say the least! Your company does not deserve 1 Star!

Had this Company to do my irrigation start up for the summer. Call and talked to Abby Thursday to set up an appointment and it was made an "anytime appointment" for the following Tuesday. Due to my weekly travel I took off work on Tuesday to be home for the service but after wait all day I made a call to the office around 4pm and Abby said that the would be there before 5 and I should receive a call. No call no show. Called the next morning to see what the deal was Abby acted like we never talked and said they would see if they could get me in this week I requested that day and was told the would and should receive a call shortly... again no call no show. Not the way to treat an existing customer. I would give no stars if I could very poor customer service would not recommend. After reading other reviews should have know better.
