Alex came to service our home and was completely unprofessional! We were told over the phone to empty cabinets and have things away from the wall. We followed and had a few totes around filled with dishes and open food. Alex proceeded to call my home filthy and barely sprayed for the roaches we got from former friends. I explained that we had laundry from those former friends and didnt know it was filled with roaches. He repeatedly told me if my home wasnt filthy I wouldnt have a problem. He even told me to spend a few days cleaning deeply to eliminate my problems. This is not acceptable by any standard. I do not recommend this company to anyone!

This company has a pattern of aggressive neighborhood canvassing during February–May. They routinely ignore posted NO SOLICITING signs and attempt to engage residents despite clear notice. They also appear to be operating without complying with the City of Lawrence’s solicitation requirements, including obtaining a city‑issued solicitor ID and license. Even with a valid license, solicitors are still required to respect posted signage, which this company consistently disregards. Their representatives claim they are “not selling anything” or that they are “in training,” but these statements do not exempt them from city code / laws. The contractual service agreement they are soliciting for is still a commercial business transaction, and solicitors must follow the law. The repeated disregard for signage and city licensing requirements, providing solicitor ID raises concerns about how they would treat customers or their property after securing a contract. Google Moxie or Joshua pest control for bad reviews, there is a long, well‑documented pattern of complaints, and it matches almost exactly what I have experienced. - Aggressive or misleading door‑to‑door sales BBB reviewers specifically mention dishonest or misleading sales approaches and being “duped” by door‑to‑door reps. - RevDex reviews describe reps preying on the elderly -Extremely low customer satisfaction 1.44 out of 5 average across 381 reviews on the Better Business Bureau. - BBB reviewers specifically mention dishonest or misleading sales approaches and being “duped” by door‑to‑door reps - RevDex reviews describe reps preying on seniors, using pressure tactics, and pushing contracts people can’t escape. - A Complaints Board review describes a customer being charged over $600 in cancellation fees even after the company failed to resolve the pest issue. As a customer, I received frequent automated text messages regarding scheduling, and I regularly responded to them. When I attempted to cancel an upcoming service by replying to one of these messages, the cancellation was not honored. Despite this, Joshua’s Pest Control showed up at my home without my consent and performed the service. I was then required to pay the bill to avoid it being sent to collections. When I contacted customer support, I was told the cancellation did not count because it was sent through an “unrecorded” text line—despite the fact that all prior communication had occurred through the same messaging system. I find it concerning when a business disregards cancellation requests, performs unauthorized work, and then demands payment.

This company doesn't know how to communicate I have four dogs made it very clear to call or text 2 days in advance so I could make arrangements for my dogs they would call me and say we are around the area and are coming by in an hour I would never do business with them again said them 6 months ago and have been charged only received 1 or 2 treatments I will give this company a -3 because of communication

The service has been consistently poor. Scheduling has been a challenge. Many system generated messages about scheduling, but then the tech arrives, does not notify me he is here and is about to leave when I go ask what was done. Found out he couldn't do it all outside because of rain so I have to reschedule. Inside work was not on his list so I have to reschedule that as well. A couple hours later I am billed for "Completed Service". The initial service for an ant problem was also a challenge resulting in several trips to the house. It was only corrected when I used a three year old, $8.95 can of Ortho Ant-B-Gon dust. I do not recommend the service and look forward to the day I can cancel it. Dear “Owner”… If you want to satisfy the customer, reach out to them. Don’t just put the ball in their court in social media.

This company is a scam!!!! The customer rep who came to my house and sell their product told me that I can cancel anytime. It is not a contract, furthermore he told me that I only pay $50 for first service and $120 3 more times. The first month, I was charged $170 and I called to cancel the service, they told me that I have I have to pay the remaining balance because I signed one year contract. The service also is very ineffective and I did not see any improvement since they started the services. Be aware, not worth wasting your money.

If I could give 0 stars I would. After having 3 different salesman come to my door I signed up and they did not come out once when they were scheduled to. I had to call and schedule every service after being told I did not understand the contract I signed and that their contracts are delayed by a month so that's why they are a month late for every quarterly service. Then, after calling to cancel due to breach of contract they refused to waive the early cancellation fee because it's "in the contract that only they are allowed to cancel" This is an awful company

I have some ants at home, and I have chosen their service. The service is 5 times a year. Please note that if you want to cancel the service midway, you also need to pay 80% of the amount. The price paid each time, including tax, is $184.5. I think this price is too high. The first visit was more detailed, taking about 20 minutes, and then it basically ended in 10 minutes each time, just spraying some insecticides. What's frustrating is that before each visit, they don't communicate with customers about the time, they just notify you that we are going to your house now. After experiencing 3 services, I cancelled the remaining two times and paid about $300. I feel frustrated about all of this. If you need to order their services, I hope my experience will be helpful to you.

PLEASE READ. We’ve been Joshua’s customers FOR YEARS. Do not use them. 1) they inserted their repellent traps and do their “monthly,” “bi-annual,” and “annual” inspections. These inspections are a joke and are conducted by people who I’d hardly consider trained. I found this out after my husband and I did some gardening and found our trees had overgrown THREE in-ground traps, which were to be inspected bi-annually. After making a formal complaint, a tech showed the following day. But he didn’t have a map and asked me where their locations were (which he should’ve known upon arrival). His inspection consisted of staring at the trap, stating “looks good!” and then walking away. 2) during our annual attic inspection, the person had no idea what vermiculite was and had to be told what it was by my husband. We had to get a secondary attic inspection by another company. Our attic ended up having asbestos, which was not caught by Joshua’s. 3) our monthly “technician” didn’t show up for 2 months straight. We work from home and have cameras, so we know when there are people. At first, every time I called to ask the status of a tech’s arrival, their phone stated theyre on office training, and then hung up so I couldn’t leave a voicemail. But don’t worry, they still got that autopayment even though I had an issue with ants for months (which I shouldn’t have with a pest control company). It wasn’t until I finally got through to Joshua’s and stated that I would be contacting my bank to block all previous transactions for non-services that they finally showed up again. Thoroughly disappointed in you as a company. We sent an email to discontinue services. Response email received was from “Moxie,” stating we’d have to wait 48hrs for someone to reach out to us about reviewing our request. NOT an allowance of discontinue, but a review on if they’d allow discontinuation, with no mention of discontinuing or even temporarily suspending payments. Edit: 4) we discontinued our service. I got a notification AFTER stopping service stating that a technician was coming out. I called to check that it was just for removal of traps. The person on the phone verified that’s what the technician was coming out for. I also asked if we wouldnt be charged on auto payments anymore. She verified we wouldn’t be, & I asked for an email to have this in writing. I never got the email, even after she read out my email correctly. Again, they didn’t get every trap out of our property. Some stuff was left behind, and some of the traps were even broken inside the ground (see attached photos). And today I checked our bank account and we were charged a monthly autopayment (which I now can’t access an online portal account because we discontinued service).

Wyatt rung my doorbell, even though I have a large no solicitation sign on my door. I opened the door and was cordial. He proceeded to tell me that he was in the neighborhood and one of my neighbors was going to receive a treatment. Very common line they use. I asked him if they treated for chiggers. He informed me that they did. When I asked him to show me something that specifically named chiggers as a pest they treated for, he stated he did not have anything he could show me but to please trust him. I mentioned to him that I had just met him and preferred to see something stating the chiggers were covered. I told him that his company had previously visited me twice last year. He stated that they were under new management. He said he knew that chiggers were covered as he was a manager. He asked to see my backyard, which I obliged. When he gave me a price, it was more than I currently pay. He stated that he was going to also treat the inside of my house. When I told him that I would not consider hiring them unless he showed me that his treatments would take care of chiggers, he got upset and threw a fit and stormed off. I tried to talk to him, but he yelled no, no! With that attitude, I am surprised anyone hires them. I proceeded to tell him to please refrain from knocking on my door again. Please respect no solicitation signs.
