Disappointed by the Customer Service While Exceptional Wildlife Removal may do good work when they actually show up, the customer service experience has been anything but exceptional. We've had multiple appointments canceled without any notice, and when we followed up, there was no apology or sense of urgency—just a casual attitude like it didn’t matter whether we used them or not. It’s frustrating to deal with a company that seems indifferent to its customers. Communication is poor, and there's no accountability when things go wrong. If you’re looking for reliability and professionalism, I’d recommend looking elsewhere. Good work means little if you can’t count on the company to show up or treat you with respect.

I wish I could give them 0 stars !!!They missed two appointments without notice and didn’t deliver what was promised. I paid for 5 months of service and they only showed up 4 times. One visit was incomplete and poorly done. Very disappointing experience — not recommended at all.

Brandon is extremely professional and is always available to respond to our concerns in a timely manner. He immediately addresses concerns, and is always honest regarding pest control options and outcomes. I'm rating this company below average because my experience with them has been frustrating to say the least. The way they operate leaves room for a lot of miscommunication, lack of communication, and confusion. Too many issues to write in this review, but basically there are people at dispatch, people that do inspections and estimates, and people who are actually sent to do the work. Problem is, it's too many cooks in the kitchen, so crucial information regarding scope of work and timing is lost in translation every step of the way. And the guys who did the work were driving from 2 hours away, so it felt like they were trying to cut corners to get done same day so they wouldn't have to come back. They tried hard to convince me that their atomizer fog stuff would take care of smell and reach all the nooks and crannies (they were trying to avoid disassembling some ceiling panels which we discussed in the initial inspection). Well, the stuff didn't work and the smell got worse, but they refuse to do any further work without getting paid more. It's been hard getting responses from them along the way, and without warning I get a call from a tech that he's almost at the property again. He's lucky I was available to run and meet him, but once I was there and waiting, he calls and says they won't do any more work and he's just going to his next job instead. Thanks for wasting my time. Then, the next day I get a call from dispatch trying to schedule another reinspection. Like, what? No. You all are frustrating to work with. I wish I had just gone with Leggett's Wildlife. Xceptional did not live up to their name.

I would strongly recommend if you're in the NOVA area to NOT call this company. I used them years ago for bats and they were amazing. Since then they were bought out by a national company and although the techs are great, the office and management seem to be problematic. We called them 5 years later for yellow jackets, they no showed on the day that they scheduled to work even though they confirmed it with me multiple times. Had to reschedule after already waiting a week with an urgent issue. Then when I though our business was all over, they charged me extra money for a follow up visit that did not occur. I called and asked them to take it off and had to play phone tag with manager to resolve it. Ate up a lot of my time unnecessarily.

I've had a squirrel living in my ceiling since June, and I recommend just about anyone EXCEPT Xceptional. I've been hung up on by the office staff twice. Every time I do get through they assure me someone will call in 24-48 hours to schedule the service. Spoiler alert: They never call. I paid $500 and have reached out at least 8 different times via call or text (6/25, 7/3, 7/7, 7/10, 7/14, 7/15, 8/7, 8/27, 9/8) attempting to get rid of a squirrel. It is impossible to get them to schedule the services I've already paid for. I guess this is the squirrel's house now?

I recently engaged the services of Xceptional Wildlife Removal after an early morning discovery of two bats swooping around my dining and living rooms. I called Xceptional because they have done great work at a church with a bell tower where I once served as a priest; they were able to respond to my request with a visit within five days of my contacting them. Wildlife Specialist Jake Dunkelberger was highly professional in his appearance as well as his knowledge of bats. He took two hours to crawl over the exterior and interior of my home to diagnose the extent of the problem. Jake developed a detailed estimate, complete with photos of problem areas. Bat remediation was scheduled for a date six days later. Specialists Ivan and Emilio arrived today on time, and equally professional in appearance and their approach to the work. I recommend Xceptional without hesitation. They are well worth the investment. Don’t go “on the cheap” with bat remediation; get the best guys around: Xceptional! There’s a reason they bear that name!

Jake was wonderful. He was so very nice and knowledgeable and friendly. He informed us ,with pictures, everything that would be done for us to get the bats out of our attic safely and efficiently . I thought the cost was very fair for everything they would be doing. I will definitely refer Exceptional wildlife removal and Jake to all my friends if they have critter issues.

Exceptional Wildlife Removal has been The company we have used for years . They have removed wildlife from our yard and also have come monthly to keep our home free of critters. Jake is an exceptional technician with a depth of experience and knowledge. And so delightful to work with. Our monthly technician Andreas is just so reliable and eager to help if I notice something needs an adjustment . I recommend Exceptional Wildlife Removal with no reservations whatsoever. They are a dream.

Jake Dunkelburger from Xceptional showed up on time and walked me through several options to evict a groundhog that’s been burrowing around our home. He carefully explained each step, how it would work and gave me quotes on the spot for the different options. Highly recommend Jake and Xceptional for any wildlife issues on your property.

We were looking to remove a dead deer from our church property. The person I scheduled the call with said the service started at $350. I explained our situation in detail but they wouldn't provide any other pricing details leaving me to think it would close to the $350 number. I schedule the service and canceled with another company I had called. Fast forward to the day of, I get a call from the service tech that they are on the way. They mention that for a large animal, like a deer, it will be upwards for $1,350!! They should be able to bring the deer back to life for that cost! Complete waste of time. And now the removal of that animal has been further delayed, allowing for the situation to worsen. They will not be getting any of our business moving forward.

Our apologies for your isolated bad experience with Xceptional Wildlife. We do try to provide a potential starting cost for this type of service. While dead animal removal can be extremely unpleasant to remove decaying animals, I would like to be the first to apologize for the unmerited cost that were relayed for the removal. This is not the general practice for Xceptional Wildlife.
I scheduled an appointment a week out on a friday from 2-4pm. (Earliest I could get). Tech messaged me 2 hours early for my appointment telling me he was on his way. I called back 30 min later (I was stuck at work in meetings), No response. Messaged tech, no response. Called the office to verify appointment time. I was correct on the time. They contacted the tech. 30 min later as I was leaving work to make the appointment time I received a voicemail from the tech that he would not be at to my house at the appointment time because he waited 15 min (due to policy) 2 hours earlier. I called the office back and they put me on hold 3 times for a total of 15 minutes to tell me that they didn't know what happened and they could reschedule my appointment for a week later. Office staff was polite, but when I asked to speak to a manager they put me on hold for another 5 minutes. I hung up and called another company. Either the office double booked, or the tech decided they could start their weekend early, by on the fly changing the appointment time to 2 hours earlier. In Either case I'm stuck with a rotting carcus smell for another week if I let them do the work with the chance they'll do this again. I'll chance it with another company.

Free estimate is great. Their process for getting the job done is extremely tedious. Call get a quote, sign off on the job, pay half. This is reasonable but their software doesn’t work! I agreed to a job. Place a critter cover over my attic fan. This was determined to be the entry point for a raccoon in my attic. The technician did a great job. While on my roof he discovered a piece of soffit that had been chewed through and provided another entry to my attic. To get it repaired I was told to start the quote process again and that then there would be another charge for roof work. He was already on the roof. I was told that the process could take several additional days . I was less than happy.

UPDATE 06.13.24! DONT USE THIS SCUMMY COMPANY FOR YOUR NEEDS! BE WARE!! Don’t use this company if you can find more trustworthy people to assist you. These people are HORRIBLE and their workmanship matches! See the pictures of the poor job they did fixing the soffit where a bird got in, on top of the other shoddy work they did. I called to have them cancel pest control last month because we noticed more ants coming in than before. A guy was sent anyway. I called and the receptionist said, “you have to email that sort of request, it’s in your contract,” but she NEVER SAID THAT DURING THE CALL!! The portal they use doesn’t even show you that and they did not email the contract. I’ve asked for them to fix the soffit since April and the lady during my May call said she’d elevate it to management. I was told that in April! The workers lazily do their job; the pest guy stayed for barely 8 minutes! He didn’t spray anything. I watched my ring camera. While they were fixing things and adding mesh to the gutters they were scratching their behinds and leaving trash after I so nicely gave them snacks and water. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY! THEY’RE SCUM! ZERO STARS IF I COULD! I needed assistance quickly and they were able to come out the next day to see if they could get the bird out of the house. Benjamin was very helpful and thorough. He showed us the vulnerabilities we had and where the birds were coming in from. The work hasn't started yet, but I'm happy about the what I've signed up for. I trust that I'm in good hands!! ☺️ If you want thorough and kind workers, don't hesitate to call this company.
Multiple fails from this company. The company has a website is not easily navigable. The don’t know how to figure out how to put accounts on auto-draft/autopay. The first tech they sent out stepped through my ceiling. Yes. His foot went through my ceiling when he was in the attic. They never came to repair it. A tech purportedly came out for a few months to take care of the roof rats I was told I had but the problem never went away. Horrible experience after spending thousands of dollars for ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.

Never had a company that was so incredibly terrible at coordination and scheduling. I've had 4 separate appointments scheduled (one of which to correct work that was not done properly the first time), and not once did they hit the window of arrival provided. This was been an absolute burden trying to make sure someone is at the house. Also took 3 separate emails to get any sort of response from their team, and even that did not address most of my questions. The work itself has been fine, but management should be downright embarrassed by how they run operations.

It’s unfortunate to write this review but I do not feel valued as a potential customer. I recently bought a home that is older and needs an attic restoration and garage cleanup and door fix. The quote I received was reasonable but at moment I only wanted my garage done due to other financial responsibilities. As a military family, there are a lot of talks about government shut down where my family will not get paid. Not only did I call multiple times, e-mail and leave a message for Tyler to call back, I did not receive a call. I was patient and have waited two weeks. The general manager even personally assured me that I would receive a phone call back and be taken care of. I guess if you don’t plan to spend thousands and thousands, this company is not interested in your business.

Xceptional Wildlife came and installed a one-way bird contraption in my front roof and a one-way squirrel contraption in the back roof then told me that they will be back in 2 weeks to install a permanent fixture. I noticed that the birds are still managing to go in and out so it clearly did not work. In the back, the squirrel is chewing on the metal. I have called them 3 times to schedule another appointment for them to install the permanent structure. Each time they schedule the appointment then fail to show up and doesn't bother to call. When I call them back, they seem surprised each time and schedule another appointment. Tomorrow I will have to call them a 4th time. They are Xceptionally Bad! The worst company that I have ever dealt with.
