I’ve been a happy customer of Kingstowne Lawn and Landscape since 2000. They have taken care of my landscaping and yard care needs at three different houses: a small townhouse in Kingstowne until 2004, a large single-family home in Wilton Woods until 2019, and a large townhouse in Kingstowne since then. When I first called them, they were still very new. In fact, the two co-owners came and sat in my living room to go over a contract to mow my grass every two weeks! I was impressed by that personal level of service, and I have really enjoyed seeing their growth, which they earn through hard work, consistency, courtesy, and fairness. If they say they’re going to show up, they’re going to be there. I started out by having them mow my lawn, but over time I have used their services for additional things. One of the first “projects” they did for me back in 2002 was to build a small flat-stone wall and landscape the area around my townhouse. I just drove by there the other day and noticed that the wall and all the landscaping are still in beautiful condition after more than 20 years. That’s quality! Later, when I lived in Wilton Woods, I turned to Kingstowne Lawn and Landscape for my Christmas lights, and they have taken care of them ever since. They also took care of a large yard after the gardener we “inherited” with the house proved to be unresponsive to our requests. At all three houses, they’ve mulched and weeded and trimmed and pruned — their staff is consistently well trained, courteous, and highly professional. They take customer satisfaction very seriously. With their expansion into home services, they have also performed painting and drywall work for me. The quality of the work is highly satisfactory and their professionalism is excellent.

Alan from Kingstowne Lawn & Landscape plowed out our block on Thursday, the first time we had seen a plow since the storm ended 5 days before. He did an excellent job, despite the hardened ice and frigid conditions. Alan was also compassionate, helping to reduce the burden where he could on some members of the community and with a smile on his face. Thanks to Alan for his professionalism and help today. I would like to thank this snowplow operator and the company for their help today. My car was completely iced in from plowed and refrozen snow, and he kindly took the time to break up the ice around the front and back so I could get out safely. This was on Julian Street in Springfield around 11:00 AM. He was professional, patient, and very considerate. I truly appreciated the help, as it made a difficult situation much easier. I would recommend this company for their care and professionalism.

Updated: January 2026 I got rid of them two years ago and could not be happier. They kept changing hands (personnel kept leaving) and systems and when I objected on how they were billing with no trail back to when they were doing mowing I was told off via email by a manager who said how happy they were that I was canceling my account. The home services group were just as rude when I asked about work. Mind you I spent more than $15,000 with them since they did my two bathrooms and removal of rotted wood on the outside of my home. Original: They did excellent work on keeping up with my land care needs. They also installed a border for my front yard and did two beautiful areas in my backyard. I also have used them for house related work and they did a great job replacing all of my lights, renovating two bathrooms, and replacing some rotten wood on the front of my house.

They do great work BUT also damaged some existing installation like our outdoor deck and landscape lighting. This has happen on several occasions and I am in the process of sending the repair bills to Kingstowne for credit against a current bill. This makes it a bit harder to have that seamless experience we all desire from the services we procure. That being said Kingstowne is still one of the best companies you can hire for landscaping around your home.

Kingstowne did a great job updating my landscaping and installing a concrete patio underneath my deck. They kept me informed every step of the way and did everything they said they would do. I would definitely recommend and use them again for any outdoor updates.

Due to the non-responsiveness of the Operations Manager and presumed failure of the Director of Client Satisfaction to follow up with the Operations Manager to contact me as requested, this feedback is being posted online: I have been a customer for over 10 years and have been mostly satisfied with the service received. Recently an issue came up (lawn wasn’t mowed) for which the Director of Client Satisfaction was engaged. While the requested credit was issued, about a month ago I requested to be contacted by the Operations Manager. Issues to be discussed: Condescending manner in which I was spoken to by the Director of Client Satisfaction and the Senior Maintenance Supervisor. Based on my experiences with the former Director of Client Satisfaction (Serena Corby), she would never have told a client “the lawn crew member doesn’t have to lie about mowing the lawn…” (paraphrased) or “I believe the crew leader…” [Senior Maintenance Supervisor]. Kingstowne has mowed my lawn for over 10 years. Prior to hiring Kingstowne Lawn, I mowed my lawn myself—I know what my lawn looks like when it’s been mowed. Also, while on-site on my property and despite repeated requests to speak in English in my presence, the lawn crew leader and Senior Maintenance Supervisor engaged in a lengthy conversation in Spanish in my presence, which was disrespectful. After a week passed with no response received from the Operations Manager, I called Kingstowne Lawn and made a 2nd request to be contacted by the Operations Manager. Again, no response was received. For that reason, a 3rd request was submitted online via Kingstowne Lawn’s website. Based on presumption and without knowing the specific issues that I wanted to address with the Operations Manager, the following email response was received from the Director of Client Satisfaction (excerpt): “…Thank you for your follow up note via our website and for your long history with Kingstowne. We’ve reviewed this situation, as detailed in your previous email carefully and feel that we have addressed your concerns. Also, we have brought those concerns to the attention of our Operations Manager for further awareness and follow-up with our crews. There is no need for further follow up at this time.” Upon receipt of this email, I called Kingstowne Lawn and spoke with the Director of Client Satisfaction and again requested to be contacted by the Operations Manager. The Director of Client Satisfaction indicated that he would reach out to the Operations Manager to contact me. Over a month has passed with no response to date from the Operations Manager. Neither the condescending manner in which I was spoken to nor the non-responsiveness from the Operations Manager are appreciated.

I want to bring attention to some concerning behavior from this company during a job they were performing in our area. Despite repeated requests, they consistently block the road for extended periods—often around two hours—under the pretense of "just unloading." This is a busy road, and their actions significantly disrupt traffic and inconvenience local residents. What’s more frustrating is that the property they’re working on isn’t even located on this street. I’ve asked multiple times for them to either park more responsibly or use the grass shoulder, but the requests have been ignored. Additionally, there have been instances where they’ve improperly disposed of debris, leaving it in wooded areas behind the property rather than removing it completely. This not only creates an eyesore but raises environmental concerns. Shockingly, I’ve also witnessed one of their workers urinating in public across the street from my home. While I cannot speak to the quality or cost of their services, I believe it’s important for potential clients to understand how they treat local residents and the surrounding neighborhood.

I was a customer of Kingstowne Lawn & Landscape for over four years, and my lawn has never looked worse. Year after year I raised concerns, and year after year Grant fed me the same excuse: “It was a bad summer, you just need aeration and seeding.” Meanwhile, my neighbors who never spent a dime on professional lawn care had far better results than I ever got from Kingstowne. When I finally had enough and canceled, I was handed off to Josh Gwilliam, whose response was nothing but canned excuses about “historic droughts” and how a brown, straw-colored lawn was somehow proof that their treatments were “beneficial.” That’s absurd, and frankly insulting. I was paying for results, not excuses and lectures. Josh and Grant clearly don’t care about customer satisfaction. The owner wouldn’t even bother to speak with me directly — which says everything you need to know about how this company values its clients. After four years of loyalty, I was treated as if my business didn’t matter at all. I will also be making sure my entire HOA is aware of my experience. People in my neighborhood deserve to know that Kingstowne will happily take your money while your lawn declines and then blame the weather. If you value your money and your yard, avoid Kingstowne Lawn & Landscape at all costs.

This company comes and obliterates my neighbors yard every now and then. They blow the crap from my neighbors porch with high powered leaf blowers onto mine and drench their yard with weed killer which then proceeds to kill some of my plants! Glad we have such sustainable and respectful companies helping keep the neighborhood beautiful

We have been using Kingstown for two years now. Initially I was satisfied with their work and pricing, but since have had several issues arise. Their crew broke an outdoor patio stone and two strings of patio lights it wasn’t a big deal but I would hope they would let me know instead of pretending like it didn’t happen. Then, this year, the broke an outdoor light fixture. They denied it was them (despite having video evidence for before and after). After a great deal of back and forth t they agreed to fix it. Well, they never did. I super glued it back together but it doesn’t work. I wasn’t happy with them but I honestly haven’t had time to find a new company but today, when providing a quote for a winter clean up service, the account manager sent me an email with a photo of the broken light (the super glue had come apart) to “note” the current condition of the light. Terrible terrible terrible customer service. I also agree with the many other reviewers that state they know your yard even when you haven’t had rain in months. Not only does your lawn not need to be mowed, but the equipment tears up a dry lawn even more. I do not recommend.

Called for an estimate Melissa said send some pictures with good lighting and we will get back to you tomorrow. They did not, and instead told us that they can’t come until next week when we called, but they did send some pretty rude texts. Some customer service training may be in order.

I would never use this company. Just to get them to come to my house they would charge me $50 and would charge my credit card a week prior to the appointment even occurring. Terrible business model, wouldn't trust them. I've had two bad experiences by contractors to have learned by lesson and would never pay a week ahead of time of having someone setting foot on my property.

We honestly have tried very hard with the phone calls, returning of calls and visiting your property multiple times. I know you were frustrated with your lawn, and the services we provided, even after coming out several times to assess as well as offer to redo the services you chose to decline. We have tried to make your lawn look better time and again, but unfortunately as you know this summer and the 9 weeks without any rain to speak of and the high temperatures into October did a number on peoples lawns. Watering was imperative to help maintain the growth and health of the lawn through out the season. It was even more imperative after we aerated and seeded your property.
