Like the many other one star reviews here, PLEASE look into other people's experiences before you let this company touch your lawn. I do not recommend this company, you will not come out the other side with a better lawn. They will destroy your lawn and then try to CHARGE YOU for services to fix it. There's no honest explanation of what will happen when they spray the herbicide on your lawn and even with their promise to "re-spray for free" they don't tell you that there's some things their herbicide won't kill. Our lawn is completely infested with Johnson grass and it's going to cost us a lot of money to fix what we paid Weedman about $700 to destroy. I know they'll harass me to no end for cancelling my contract after destroying my lawn, so save yourself the trouble and call literally ANY other company.

Pesticides such as these should be illegal. By using services such as weed man, you are actively contributing to the collapse of our ecosystem
Provider response
Hi Alison. At Weed Man, we make sure to use only selective herbicides and to stay away from important pollinators around homes. We recognize the important changes in our environment that need to be taken seriously, and do our best to do our part.

Unprofessional and petty!
Provider response
Hi Jim, thanks for your review. We have looked through our database and cannot find your name as a customer. I’ve reached out to all our staff and no one can recall speaking with anyone by your name. I’d love to be able to help with your concerns, but we cannot locate a customer record, please reach out to me and I will personally assist you with your concerns.

Super unprofessional company with bad leadership. They will and are going to lie to you. Horrible experience with this bottom of the barrel company. Tre, John B and Nicole are all liers and very unprofessional. They rip me off for $400 and then branch manager Tre blocked my phone, office won’t pick up when I’m calling and both owners are ducking me. I’ve sent pics and videos with no response. Still have weeds EVERYWHERE and the grass spots they guaranteed or me money back lock exactly the same. Don’t waste time or money with this company and these clowns! Terrible service and no results. They are the worst!
Provider response
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’d like to clarify a few points regarding your experience.

On April 20, you contacted our office multiple times (6 times in 3 hours) requesting to speak with a manager. Your call was returned the same day, and we had the opportunity to discuss your concerns in detail.

During that conversation, we offered two solutions consistent with our service policy: we could either return to address the issue or provide a refund for the seeding service. You chose the refund option, which was processed for $258.98. Your request for a full refund of all fertilization and weed control services was reviewed; however, those applications were completed as part of your agreed program and are not eligible for refund.

In an effort to better understand the results you were experiencing, we also offered to perform a soil sample, which can help identify underlying conditions that impact turf performance. That option was declined.

Our team made multiple attempts to address your concerns and provide a fair resolution. We’ve proudly served our community for over 20 years, and we remain committed to delivering quality service and standing behind our work.

If you cancel your contract with weed man, they will call you nonstop and even come visit you at your house to harass you. Asked multiple times to be taken off their call list.
Provider response
We're sorry for the frustrating experience! If you give our office a call, you should be able to get your number and address taken off of our marketing list to subvert this in the future!

The service plan they proposed was not bad but it was a little more costly than another service so we declined and went with the other guy. They have continued to call and call and call even after we have several times asked them to remove our number from the call list. I have tried blocking the number and they call from new numbers. It is getting to be ridiculous. PLEASE STOP CALLING US!!
Provider response
Thank you for the feedback, and I’m truly sorry for the repeated calls. That’s not the experience we want anyone to have, especially after you’ve asked to be removed.

I want to fix this immediately. Please call me 270-793-0411, and if you can share the best phone number to remove, the name or address on the quote, I will personally make sure it’s added to our do not call list and confirm it’s been handled.

Again, I apologize for the frustration this has caused.

Jonathan

Weed man doesn’t even deserve a star. This is the worst company. My lawn looks a hot mess. Not sure what they treated but I still have weeds and it appears they burned all my grass. My lawn is literally brown. It looks bad and it has never looked like this. I want. A refund because your services did nothing. You all just stole my money basically. The makes my home look like no one lives here. Now I have to work on getting my grass back. Worst company ever. Pictures below
Provider response
Summer conditions can be very hard to manage in Kentucky, but your frustrations are understood. We apologize that we weren't able to provide the result that you had expected from us, and hope that in the future we can make sure to provide proper information and service when it comes to problems like these.

Well, I hired them in the spring to come out and help me with my yard. My whole left side of my house and part of my front had died and I talked to John and he said he would have someone come out and evaluate my yard which never happened. Last year in the fall, the grass was beautiful and green because my husband had kept it up. They were supposed to be killing off my weeds and crab grass, which I have crab grass everywhere still and weeds. I need to have part of my front yard and side yard reseeded and they could not guarantee a day at the end of September that I could have it done. I wouldn’t trust them anyways since they won’t have somebody come out to see what exactly can be done first. They proved that in the spring. I am not sure if it has to be killed off first or just needs to be reseeded. To be honest, I wouldn’t even trust them if they told me someone came out to evaluate my yard. I am to keep it watered so I was hiring somebody to come in from out of town for 10 days to help me with that and they would not accommodate. I should’ve read the reviews from the last year because they were terrible. I’m really mad at myself for wasting my money the last six months. I am not the only one in my neighborhood who is unhappy with their service. The only reason they’re not canceling is because they paid Year in advance. I’m thankful that I did not do that and was paying monthly and could cancel. Now I have a company coming out who are going to evaluate my yard. Talk to me to see what can be done. I should have canceled along time ago when I realized they can not even get rid of the weeds and lied when they said someone will be out to evaluate my yard. Lesson learned some companies want your money and do not care about the customer or their needs.

Rick, your staff told me you are not reachable i wish have talked to you to directly to resolve this issue, The last service was not done in entire lawn. He sprayed fromt lawn only ,To be fair reduce the balance in half. 6/16 "Worst lawn care service I’ve ever experienced. Despite a prepaid contract, crabgrass is still growing everywhere with no noticeable improvement. Once your contract ends, they continue providing service without any prior notice or authorization—and then send you a bill. If you don’t pay, they threaten collections. Avoid this company at all costs."
Provider response
Hello Bilal, Thank you for your review. I have looked into your account with us and it appears you became a customer of ours in mid-April of 2024. You did prepay for services for the remainder of 2024, but we do not offer contracts and nothing is signed. We send out a letter at the beginning of each season via email and snail mail to each of our customers explaining the continuous service and if they do not wish to continue they need to let us know. In that letter, we also offer a prepay discount (which 60% of our customers take advantage of) for the services outlined in the letter. In addition, we call everyone who prepaid the previous year ahead of the first service for the year to remind them of the prepay discount if they wish to take advantage. Additionally, we send a text message the day before your service to notify you that we would be there to perform your service. I am sorry you feel like we showed up without prior notification, but we go above and beyond to ensure each our customers know we are going to be servicing their property for the season. We try to make the customer experience as easy as possible and continuous service is something that is an industry standard. As for the crabgrass in your lawn, I do not show any service calls or additional visits to bring ongoing issues to our attention so they can be addressed. We are only scheduled to visit our customers lawn 7-8 times per year, so we strive for a strong partnership and open line of communication to ensure each customer gets the lawn they desire. We have been in business over 17 years in Bowling Green and we try every day to provide great service and communication, and we will continue to do that moving forward.

After them calling me weekly for years I tried to get them to come out and treat my yard. They were ambiguous with when they would come out and wouldn’t say when or if they could come. Seems like a bit of a scam
Provider response
Hi Mickey,

I'm truly sorry that your experience led you to feel disappointed and leave a 1-star review. We completely understand how frustrating it can be not to have an exact treatment date, and we genuinely regret that we couldn’t meet your expectations in this regard.

To ensure the best possible service, our Branch Manager prepares treatment bins just one day in advance. This helps us stay flexible and responsive to unexpected challenges like weather, technician availability, or equipment issues.

That said, we do our best to get new customers treated within two weeks of signing up, and we make sure to send pre-notification the business day before your scheduled service—so you’re always kept in the loop as soon as your visit is confirmed.

Let me start by saying I do not know about lawns- weeds, grass type, fertilizer, pests, all the things…that is why I have paid for a lawn service. I think weedman is fine if all you want is for someone to text you the day before they are going to show up to do the basic cookie cutter service. Fertilize, pre emergent and come back only if you call and complain about weeds. They have never recommended anything else to me to get/keep my lawn looking nice after basic visits and they don’t check in otherwise. They will try to sell you over-seed and aeration every fall, which is needed but again it’s just techs coming out and getting the service done without care. My personal experience this past year I was worried about Bermuda starting to grow in a patch of my backyard that is fescue (after having to learn for myself it was “Bermuda which is a grass and not a weed” even though my lawn is fescue) anyways I called to ask specifically about it and was told a manager would have to call me, a “manager” did call me and was actually pretty informative and didn’t try to rush me off the phone. The outcome of that phone call was to call back in a few month because Bermuda should be killed in The end of summer. Called back after a few months again was told a manager would have to come out, a manager did come out sat in front of my house in his truck and called to tell me that it would need to be sprayed multiple times and that they don’t use the chemical needed, so pretty much couldn’t help me. And as far as the additional weeds I complained about that other weedman neighbors lawns also had they couldn’t do anything because they were a “grass and not a weed” and to leave them until cool weather killed them off? Next I started seeing a brown patch in my lawn, ignored by techs previously. I peeled the lawn back to find grubs, called the office and was told they were done with grub control for the season, again couldn’t help me. After those experiences a sales woman called to try to sell me aeration and seeding I explained I did not want that service done by them and that I haven’t been happy with my other experiences this year and may not even stay with them. Apparently she noted in my account I was going to cancel and to have a manager call me. I happened to be out of town when a manager apparently did go by my house, left me a message, when I would call back it would take me to the office, who knew nothing, after many phone tags and frustration the office said they would just put my account on hold since I had someone else kill the Bermuda and aerate and seed…and couldn’t have chemicals sprayed. Yesterday I received a check for remainder of the years services since I had prepaid. Apparently I have been canceled…I just don’t feel like this company CARES. They are fine if you want the basic service but you better know about lawns if you want or your lawn needs anything else.
Doug Eberhart
They are horrible at providing service and doing what they say. They are excellent at calling you to sell you service. I've received 5 phone calls asking me to buy more items and zero calls about quality of service. Their process only kills part of the weeds and then they stated that the only way to kill all the weeds is to buy overseeding and aeration service. This is not ehat they said when buyinh monthly service in the spring. Their system doesn't work for customers but does work for them to earn money. Great at collecting money, poor at delivering service and fulfilling their role of killing all weeds. I cancelled after several months. Should have cancelled sooner.
Provider response
Hello Mr Eberhart, Thank you for your review, we value our customers and their feedback! Lawn care is a process and takes time to see sustaining results, something we have been doing for over 15 years in Bowling Green. Lawns that have not been fertilized, sprayed and overseeded on a regular basis year over year can take 2-3 seasons of applications to get the desired results. I apologize if we fell short on explaining the process and setting the correct expectations for your lawn, we will take your feedback and work to improve our processes.

Do not get this company for your yard needs. All they care about is charging your card. Why in the world would you come out and treat my yard when its above 90 degrees outside. Now every part they treated is brown and burned. All they did was say “sorry” which does nothing for me . Did not even offer me a refund . I cancelled them and made sure to tell them that i will not be calling them multiple times to cancel my service . I will attach a few photos just for reference but the yard continued to get worse because of the heat.
Provider response
Mr. Cerimovic,

Thank you very much for your feedback. The photos you provided are very helpful. I understand your frustrations, and I want to inform you that what you're seeing is heat stress on a fescue lawn. Tall fescue is a cool-season grass that handles heat stress better than other types, but it can still suffer damage if exposed to excessive heat for extended periods.

Fescue lawns thrive in daytime temperatures between 60–75°F but may struggle when temperatures exceed that range. When temperatures reach 90°F, the grass may go dormant to protect itself. To help the lawn recover, we recommend deep watering in the morning before the heat of the day and never cutting more than one-third of the grass blade when mowing.

I noticed from your account that you had the same issue with your previous lawn care provider, which explains why it keeps happening. Watering in the morning before the heat of the day and not cutting more than one-third of the grass blade when mowing will help get your lawn back on track! If you decide you'd like to give us another try, you can reach us at 270-793-0411.

Charged for a service did not ask for. Then tried to cancel service and was meet with resistance. I do not recommend this company..... Today 12-6-23 This is my second call from this company. Asking about my service and why I stopped it. Those company is very push and I STRONGLY DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM. Typically l, when you stop a service. You don't owe anyone an explanation. Weedman is very predatory business..In my Opinion.

Weed Man of Bowling Green has been really great to work with so far. They have been treating my yard for about a year and I can already tell a big difference. I am very excited to see what it looks like a year from now.

They were spraying weeds while my sprinklers were going off with out saying anything. Resulted in yard being over run with weeds, they came back and killed the weeds after it got out of control. Ruined my yard had to spend days pulling dead weeds to go reseed all the dead spots. Make sure they have capacity and will keep timelines, they were not for us.

They have a great system for notification and are easy to contact if you have questions or concerns. If you request a reapplication, they come right out. All of this is great stuff. My worry is if a customer has a particularly tricky\weed infested yard (and I do), they are limited in what solutions they can provide.

Incredible value for the services. Very professional crew they have as well!
