We had some severe cases and Tammy and Mckenzie took care of our family of 5. One six year old autistic child. They were patient and professional

We try to work as a team whenever possible. It helps large families get in and out of our clinic quicker. Our one-and-done solution helps with that as well. Thank you.

Fantastic service for the family!
Response from Lice Clinics of America - Portland
We want to screen and/or treat everyone in the household with lice. It is important that the family is all seen in order to insure that lice will not linger around after being treated. Thanks for you confidence and your review!
Nancy was fantastic. Very kind and understanding. She definitely made my kiddo feel better. THANK YOU
Response from Lice Clinics of America - Portland
THANK YOU as well for trusting us with your family. We spend a lot of time working to fight the stigma that lice is bad and you should be ashamed if you have lice. It's more of an inconvenience and we have a fast and easy solution that is different and highly effective.
I had a great experience here with my two daughters. The technicians were very knowledgeable and made us feel at ease. They were also able to get us in right away. Would definitely recommend!!

Response from Lice Clinics of America - Portland
We’re open 7 days a week because we know lice issues never seem to happen at a convenient time. Our team works hard to keep appointments available so families can get help when they need it most. It’s not always easy, but our goal is to take the stress out of lice and get you relief as quickly as possible.
Liz was amazing!!!! This was an incredibly easy experience!
Response from Lice Clinics of America - Portland
Thank you for the shout out for Liz. She is very passionate about making the clients she works with feel that the experience was comfortable and very worthwhile. She is a fabulous educator about all things lice.
After almost a month of struggling with home treatment we went to the clinic and it was wonderful. So easy, peace of mind, our nightmare is over! Thank you.
Response from Lice Clinics of America - Portland
Thank you for sharing your experience! We hear this story often—families trying their best with home treatments for weeks before deciding to come in. We’re so glad we could make the process simple, give you peace of mind, and help bring that stressful chapter to an end. We appreciate you seeking out our service after other methods did not work for you.
I would recommend the clinic, but with some hesitation. We had 3 people treated and 1 checked. Pros: - got us in and treated same day - got rid of the lice (I presume. It’s been one day) - Noemi was great! She was patient with really good communication for our younger child - Netflix options for TV to entertain the kids Cons: - Nancy was not a good fit for us. I think she had good intentions and meant well, but I wish we could have had Noemi for both kids. With Nancy, the heat was hurting our older child and Nancy kept saying that taking breaks will “just make it take longer”. I had the treatment and … yeah it was painful! I could handle it, but for my tender-headed kid it was too much and while she was crying, Nancy just kept pushing. Based on the other reviews, sounds like she is great with a lot of other customers, but she just was not a fit for us. - the constant upselling was annoying. Pushing for a monthly plan, then additional products, etc. We bought the $21 shampoo for the oil removal and it did not work well… our normal shampoo worked better. - The cost. We knew how much it would be going it, but it’s still a lot. And then pressure to tip as well - $100-$150 tip were the default options (15% and up) or “other”. But they got the job done, and it was NOT a job I wanted to do! So I would say go for it - based on all the reviews I think others had a better experience. But there are other clinics, so if (heaven forbid) we have this happen again, I’d probably call a few others first. Also - I wasn’t planning on reviewing since this isn’t very positive, but they kept asking for reviews…
Response from Lice Clinics of America - Portland
Thanks for you honesty. Nancy is wonderful and is one of our busiest technicians. We're sorry she wasn't a good fit for you or your family, but we're glad we were able to solve your family's lice infestation.
Oh my gosh, Nancy and Noemi were LIFE SAVERS!! They got us in same day and were just so helpful with my autistic daughter! Highly recommend them!!

We appreciate the Five Star review. Please let you network know how our service helped. your family.
Liz stayed open for late for us and saved the day. She explained everything. We just brought an infant home but turns out kindergarten age kid got lice.
Response from Lice Clinics of America - Portland
Glad we were able to save the day. It's hard enough managing many children's needs and schedules at home, and when you add lice on top of that, our One-and-Done treatment will get you back on track immediately. Thanks for putting your trust in Lice Clinics of America.
Response from Lice Clinics of America - Portland
Thank you for the 5 star review. Please let others know about our service. We're alway looking to help more families in a similar situation. It's one degree of separation to get lice for a child.
TL;DR Be careful coming here if you are a PoC! I visited here in July when lice ran through our family of 6. My one of the other adults in our house -who has relatively straight hair- visited the day before me and highly recommended it. I really didn't want to do one of those at home treatments after having to do them on our kids for the last couple days so I figured I'd get it done professionally. I understand that this is Portland, and it's fairly homogenous here, so I called beforehand and let the person at the desk know that I am a PoC and my hair is thick and textured/coily. I asked if there was anything special I should do to prepare to help the appointment go smoothly. The person who answered the phone seemed annoyed that I asked and just assured me that as long as my hair was clean and dry it would be fine. I asked if I should blow dry it or leave it in it's natural curly state and again annoyed she insisted whichever would be fine as long as it was clean and dry, she could work with it. I detangled and blew my hair dry to make it straighter and sectioned it out in twists so it would be faster/easier to get through. The first thing she did was take down all the section. I thought "That's fine, she knows what she's doing, maybe she needs to be able to access the whole head at once." She then proceeds to rake her hands through my hair and make little comments about how thick my hair is. I tried to offer helpful tips like "It's easier to go through it in sections, and it's much easier to comb through when it's wet." She more or less ignored me and proceeded to yank the tiniest comb in the world through my hair. I'm not tender headed by any means, but a good amount of hair was coming out. As she was yanking, she was making more comments and jokes about how she's only worked with 'my kind of hair' once before and how most of her clients have 'finer, straighter' hair that's 'easier to work with' and any time she seemed unsure of what to do next, she would chuckle (probably nervously) about just how much hair i have etc etc. I was so uncomfortable the entire time, but I've never had lice before and as chunks were coming out of my head and I was sure all my ends were being split, i kept reminding myself it would grow back and as long as the lice were gone, i could live with it. Luckily, another employee, a Latina woman, came in and looked with concern at what was happening. At this point I'd been there maybe an hour and the lady had maybe gotten through just under half my head between the treatments and combing). The other employee took my persona aside and led her to the closet where apparently they had things like hair clips and wider toothed combs (thank the heavens). She came back and explained to my person that she needed to use a bigger comb, sections, and wet the hair (!!!). My person NOW tried a couple of these things and said something to the effect of "I totally forgot we had these things. You know I never really need them since I usually work with straight hair" Things were moving much faster and she was making comments about how 'fun it is to play with once you find your rhythm'. The other woman had her own client by this point, but made a point to regularly look over and give my person pointers. It was an absolute godsend as I am autistic and I was at that point very very overstimulated and trying very hard to sit still. Hair was no longer being yanked out, everything moved faster, and with one last comment about how 'all of their shower caps are too small for this hair', she covered my hair with the final solution, half covered it with a shower cap, and stuffed paper towels in and around the cap to try to cover as much as she could. I felt ridiculous, I was so embarrassed. The final solution did end up taking forever to wash out, but after I believe three washes in the shower using 3 different shampoos, it was out and I was lice free and exhausted 2 stars because it *did* get rid of the lice, and I'm sure the other person would have been a better fit for me

My daughter and I went for treatment, and I still found live eggs in both of our hairs the next day after paying $400. Not worth the price if I’m still seeing live eggs the next morning and need to remove it myself at home.
Response from Lice Clinics of America - Portland
Our AirAllé technology dehydrates all of the eggs. If their are a few eggs left over after our treatment and comb out, those eggs are not viable and will never hatch. They have been dried out. In contrast, when you use a traditional comb out using a shampoo, oil, or solution, in general the eggs are not affected and will eventually hatch if not combed out. What we do is totally different. Our method is 99.2% effective on the first try with clinical trials. Our technicians are trained to explain this to you when you schedule an appointment and again during treatment. Please contact our office in the morning and we can provide you with more information.
If I give them a star its because I have too. They just still your money. They said you have a gurantee for 30 days and its not true.
Response from Lice Clinics of America - Portland
We're sorry you feel this way. Lice infestation is primarily contracted through head-to-head contact. If a child moves between multiple households, we need to be able to check everyone in those households to make sure that everyone is clear in order to guarantee our service. If someone who is not checked in household two has lice, and is not checked, the child we treat can unfortunately wind up with lice again. This was explained at the time of service. It is also stated in our re-treatment policy on our website. That being said, we are always willing to work with families who haven't qualified for a guarantee to educate them about lice infestation and to work with them in the case where a new infestation happens. https://liceclinicsnorthwest.com/lice-re-treatment-policy/
Recently recieved service and was told they do not remove all nits because the air treatment kills them anyway, I was told this after payment. I did not know this prior to service. Many schools still have a 'No Nit Policy. $400 & 2 1/2 weeks later lice are found live once again. They refuse to retreat as they claim they could not find live lice, only I did. Absolutely horrid service. Avoid at all cost! Be prepared to have to go home and provide treatment yourself!
Response from Lice Clinics of America - Portland
We're sorry to hear that you were disappointed with our service. You returned to our clinic for a free recheck and our technician did not find an active lice infestation. Our policy is that we do not treat people who are found to not have lice. After you posted this review, we reached out to you to learn more about your experience, but we did not receive a return phone call. Please call us so we can further discuss your situation.
Changing my review to 1 star. The 2nd day after treating our hair and paying more than $350, my 3 year old was still itching her hair. I called them and told them, and they said it’s normal she would be itching for 7-10 more days because if the scabs. I called the 2nd week because she was still itching and they said the same thing. Today we check her head because she hasn’t stopped scratching and what do we find? Live small bugs that had just hatched. So pretty much they didn’t get rid of the lice ever and she’s been itching for a reason.
Response from Lice Clinics of America - Portland
Sorry to hear about your experience. Your daughter had a standard comb-out service, which requires additional follow-up. Our heated air technology, which you received, is 99% effective on the first try, but a traditional comb out requires continued combing and an additional treatment after 10 days because it is less effective. We could not identify your follow up calls in our phone logs. Please call and ask to speak with a manager about your experience and we'll see what we can do to help.
The office was locked up with no one answering calls when we showed up for our 11am appt on Sat, 23rd.
Response from Lice Clinics of America - Portland
We sincerely apologize for this problem this morning. Our employee who was supposed to meet your family was ill and did not receive the message for your appointment. This is a rare occurrence. Please give us a call and we can make sure that your family is taken care of.
Did not finish me and left for another customer
Response from Lice Clinics of America - Portland
Lilly - I'm so sorry to hear about your experience. We strive to have the highest level of service in all of our clinics. I don't see your name as one of our clients. In which of our clinics did you have this unfortunate experience?
This is my second time coming to this clinic. And I was in full panic because my kids and I got lice. I immidiately contacted this clinic because my first time was really pleasant and the staff was really kind and patient with us. But this time the same lady that helped me previously, helped me again and this time she was a slight bit rude to me and I was completely turned off by it. I wanted to leave but i had already driven far so I might as well get treated. I rather spend the extra dollars and get Guaranteed result then throw my money away on the over the counter products. I might not consider coming back here in the future (if I get infected but hopefully not) but because the service is quick and guaranteed to eliminate these tiny pest, I don’t know. She made me feel like it was my fault I got lice. I try my best to check my kids and my self as often but because i got other things going on, this was the last thing on my mind and the last thing that I wanted to have to deal with, so I’m sorry I got lice. I think her name is rocio, I think she is Hispanic but I’m not sure, I can’t assume. But... hopefully this second time these bugs are gone and yes I will continue to keep a closer eyes on my kiddos.
$200 per treatment is about twice what I'd pay at other places for the same efficacy. Also, my daughter's treatment took nearly two hours.
