Gosh, they are a wonderful company! If you're looking for a fair price, a detailed inspection of a crawlspace, and customer service not seen in decades, EcoCare is the way to go. Diane, the EcoCare woman who took my call was so attentive and kind. I have had a difficult personal issue and likely sounded incoherent, but Diane remained calm, kind and listened. The EcoCare professional, Ricky, that came out was also upfront, genuine, explained things clearly more than once, and in fact a neighbor came by and asked if Ricky could inspect her crawlspace too, and he did! I can't say enough about the professionalism of this company, their fair pricing, and the small acts of kindness that all of us sorely need at this moment in time.

We canceled the rodent removal service after a year because not only did it not go away, it got significantly worse. They did not even check an entire side of our crawl space (we found out after hiring another company since ecocare failed so badly) and there were several entry points ecocare had missed. I could not be more disappointed after paying $3400 for the initial eradication, regular visits and a sanitation of the crawl space. On top of that the rats ate through both vehicles wiring, ended up being in our kitchen, attic and bathrooms AFTER more than a year of their so-called service. We have had to purchase glass jars to store all (and I mean all) food in the house. We are in this problem over $10k after more than a year and it’s not even close to being solved. I could not warn you against using this farce service more.

That said, we’d like to offer some clarification.<br>Our records show that we responded promptly to every request during the time you were under service, including dispatching technicians shortly after you reported rodents in your vehicles. At your direction, all exterior stations and traps were removed, and the service was canceled on 5/27/2025. Unfortunately, once access to the property was revoked, we were not given the opportunity to inspect or implement further solutions.<br>We understand how frustrating a rodent infestation can be, especially when it impacts your home and vehicles. It's important to note, however, that rodent control requires consistent collaboration, access, and sometimes multiple layers of exclusion and monitoring. While we sympathize with your situation, we also respectfully stand by the efforts we made while service was active.<br>Our goal has always been to support you, and we regret that we were unable to see the process through to full resolution. We remain open to constructive dialogue if you'd ever like to revisit a path forward.<br>

Strange experience over the phone. I was trying to gather information for their pest services and encountered someone who was a bit hesitant on the phone and didn't seem very forthcoming with services offered. They suggested I have someone come out so I could ask my questions, but that would cost me $299. We are going to look elsewhere.

I called to inquire service for a rodent problem. Unfortunately they didn’t have any availability until next week . I was in the middle of declining and thanking her either way and the receptionist (who didn’t bother to even tell me her name) just hung up on me. Incredibly rude and unprofessional. Definitely will not be calling back for any future issues.

The field techs at EcoCare Pest were good. And friendly. But it’s not worth it for having to deal with the hit and miss office staff. In particular, Dianne. She can be edgy and really poor at communicating. Frequently making mistakes in scheduling. Avoids answering the phone and returning calls. The rest of the office receptionist are nice and competent professionals, but Diane shouldn’t be in a customer service role. This review is for EcoCare Pest Control of Portland and Vancouver/Ridgefield.

These guys hate their customers. That sounds harsh, but it was proven to me by manager Ken Vahndijk. I sent him an email back in November asking to talk to him about bad treatment from the front office. He has still not followed up (today is 2/13/24). I have been a customer with this company for almost three years. My wife and I signed up for our residence, and then maybe a year or so later, I signed my business up for their pest insurance. So, I have two accounts with Eco Care Pest Control. They have sent out maybe seven to ten different technicians to both of my two locations. Every technician has been polite, respectful, and knew their stuff. Some have even gone as far to text ahead, wear shoe covers, and go the extra mile by voicing concerns about potential dangerous areas in walls/crawlspace. I wish I could only deal with the technicians. So one star from my review is for the excellent technicians. The second star in my review is for the actual product. It is a good product. The spray works well, and has been safe for my dog at home, and the two pets at my business. I cannot give a full five star review because of the front office. The front office has screwed up multiple times. One lady in particular (I believe her name is Diane) has been extremely rude in her replies. She has never apologized for sending technicians to the wrong address. She (or whoever does the text chain) had accused me of not replying to their texts. I investigated the texts further, and found they were texting another number that wasn’t even mine. Zero accountability from both Diane and Ken (again, Ken hasn’t replied to me in four months). Also, Ken just sent my business a letter saying they are raising the monthly price. I get that, but strange he has time to ask for money, but no time to reply to a customer. In conclusion, if you sign up with Eco Care Pest Control, you will get great technicians and a good product. However, do not expect to get treated fairly by the front office. And if you open multiple accounts with this company, pay extra attention to the work site details. For example, during the recent ice storm, I called to reschedule/see if drivers were coming out. Diane rescheduled, but changed the address. If I had not checked the scheduled location in the confirmation email, the technician would have gone to the wrong address. Diane did this earlier in 2023. I had moved all the furniture and gotten my house ready for the pest technician to spray, and he went to wrong address. When I called that day to see what mixup was, I was met with a rude Diane who took no responsibility and did not apologize for wasting my time. After waiting four months to get a reply from the manager (Ken), I chalk this up as this is how they do business. ***UPDATE October 2024**** So i canceled both of my accounts earlier this year. The owner told me he does hate his customers and only cares about money. When I called to cancel both of my two separate accounts, they did not care about keeping my business. In August, I found an online company called Pestie. They are very affordable, and send you their human & pet safe pest control spray. We have been pest free, and its about 33% the annual cost of EcoCare. I would use online company and not these clowns. They did get better with scheduling, but when owner Ken Vahndijk told me he cares only about money/profit, I knew I had to terminate their services

When you called our office to cancel you mentioned it was simply because the owner was unable to return your call from a year ago. Non-communicative, wasted our time while we have an active pest problem. When Rick came out he looked around and told us he’s have a full report and estimate ASAP. I got an invoice for 0$ the next day, but when I emailed and called multiple times to get an estimate no one returned any calls. When I finally got someone on the phone they told me they don’t work on old houses.

I am completely dissatisfied with their job. It was unprofessional what they did. I have squirrel in the attic and chewing wood and almost coming through the celling. I told them at the first time on the phone and did the same to the staff who checked the attic. And he just set up traps on the roof and visiting several times to check squirrel got caught or not. While waiting, TWO WEEKS, the squirrel damaged more and had babies there. Situation got worse and I got exhausted banging wood to scare the mom to stop chewing. Another company made all plan for me, remove the mom🐿 and babies, cleaning the attic, and close the hole of roof which would be done less than HALF DAY. They say that squirrel are smart and won’t get caught with the traps. Even my friends know that 😂😂 I wish now EcoCare could have done the same at the beginning. Time is money. <Communication> Communication is another matter. They say they contacted me, but it was not good communication. The staff visited me and knocked the door. I didn’t know when he was coming, and did not hear the knocking. Professional communicating and customer support are texting or calling before and confirming the schedule and visit, not sudden visit without confirmation. Yes, they E-mailed me telling “Completed Service” , checking the traps" 8 times. This is NOT communicating , just REPORTING. We made reschedule to check the attic on March 2nd, he did not show up and gave me text NEXT DAY saying “ there was emergency”, This was NOT right timing. Someone else could have reached and tel me that on that day. <Staffs> very nice and friendly people !! I paid for the experience and lesson. EcoCare should be happy to take the funds. Thanks !

I don’t take it lightly giving a company a 1 star review. It’s actually taken me months to decide if I should write this review or not. So we had a rodent problem and Jimmy came out and patched up all of the open spaces under our house and got rid of it for us (including leaving bate stations) I was SO grateful for this company. For this part of their job I give them a 5 star. We were using Aptive for our spider/bug problem (we live a few houses from an open field) When we saw how great EcoCare Pest Solutions was with getting rid of our mice, we decided to switch to them for our spiders/bugs too. My main concern that I had asked Aptive and EcoCare Pest Solutions was if their products would make my dogs sick. Both companies assured me the dogs would be safe. Within hours our two dogs (16 and 18 pounds) both got super sick (diarrhea, non stop puking, super lethargic and sick) At that time I didn’t connect the dots of why they were getting sick. The next time they sprayed our dogs got sick again. I called the company and spoke with them. Then again a few months later the same thing happened. I called the company and they reassured me that their product is not what was making my dogs sick. So we got our yard treated a few months later. Our dogs got sick again! I spoke to the owner who again reassured me that their products DO NOT make dogs sick. They said there was no way it could make my dogs sick. I decided that there was a pattern I could not over look any more. That was end of Jan/beginning of feb 2019. It’s now the middle of July and guess what....My dogs have not gotten sick since we stopped getting sprayed. I’m not leaving this review to put down the company or the people. They were very nice people and worked hard. I’m leaving this review because I want other pet owners to be aware and not have to put their pets thru what I put my pets thru. I would like to add that they did do their job and get rid of my spiders though.

I booked with EcoCare after talking with their representative on the phone and sharing that I had a little one and was pregnant. I explained that I wanted the safest and minimal amount of product to be used. I was told that the product they used was the “synthetic of the chrysanthemum” and was very safe. When the gentleman showed up to treat my property, I confirmed that the product he was using was the synthetic of the chrysanthemum and he said the granules that would be spread were but that the sprayed product was Termidor. This is the same product that all of the other companies that I got quotes from also use but I chose EcoCare because I thought I was getting a safer product. Termidor was never mentioned when I expressed my concerns and I feel that I was purposely mislead because of my concerns about being pregnant. I had a quote for $100 cheaper from another company that I wish I would have gone with. The business name and dishonest employees lead you to believe that they are a more environmentally friendly and safe company, but they are using the same products as everyone else at a higher cost. I will not be using EcoCare again.

We were customers of EcoCare for 1 year exactly before canceling. In that year they were never fully able to address and rid us of our carpenter ant problem. We showed great patience with them, one year, and then moved on to another company. When we did address our concerns with EcoCare technicians, about 8 months into our services, we were met with our house being to blame, i.e. the siding/trim of the house needing to be replaced to close gaps... therefore directly blaming the house as opposed to their services. They offer an oncall service, meaning outside of the quarterly service to maintain and spray, they will come out if you continue to see pests outside of your scheduled maintainance. I would say we had them out maybe 5 times maybe more (they can fact check this) outside of the quarterly spraying, with again no results. The real issue is you have ants all over your home- for us it was our children’s room... after spraying multiple times...and then when you use the “on call” they are so busy they are 5-7 days out before they can address. For reference our new company is back out within 24-48 hours guaranteed. Note, the receptionist is as kind as can be and the technicians were also very kind and respectful. The people are not the problem. The missing stars are because they can’t get the job done at the end of the day. I wouldn’t waste your time or money. The new company we are with has already gone miles beyond with treatment to our house, treatment options that EcoCare never addressed or offered.
