Going door to door when we have a very obvious no soliciting sign and knocking at 830pm! Our kids are already asleep! Get your business the right way, through word of mouth by doing a good job, quit harassing people! I’ll do best to make sure nobody I know uses you.

I have an obvious No Solicitation sign on my front door. Company employee (or owner?) still decided to knock on my door to solicit services. Claimed to be doing a job for my next door neighbor but didn’t know his name. Acted shocked when I pointed out my sign and asked that he respect it and leave.

Provider response

Thank you for sharing this with us, Al. We understand how frustrating and unwelcome that must have felt. Please email socialmedia@goaptive.com with your address and any additional details you’d like to share so our team can review the situation and help ensure this doesn't happen again. <br><br>-Alexis

Salesman came to my door at 7pm over the summer. I had ants at the time so agreed to sign up, which was a mistake. The shortest term they lock you into is 2 years, but i told the salesman i was going to move to Alaska in a few months. He told me since they dont service that area i wont be charged the $200 cancelation fee. Ive since moved and was told i need to provide proof, and i wont be charged until the proof is reviewed. They attempted to charge me $200 the very next day, and every few days since for a month now. Ive gotten the run around, sending my lease to 4 different emails the customer service team has given me, and received 3 phone calls asking for a new credit card number they can charge. Absolute scam of a service. The service they did provide is all stuff you can buy at home depot yourself. Waste of money. Avoid at all costs.

Provider response

We really appreciate you taking a moment to share this with us, Mason. It's understandable how frustrating this situation must be, especially when expectations discussed at sign-up don’t seem to align with what you later encountered after your move. We also recognize how concerning it can be to feel uncertain about billing and communication while you’re trying to provide requested documentation, and that's never how we want our customers to feel.<br><br>We’d really appreciate the opportunity to review what's happened and better understand what occurred, including the information shared during enrollment and the follow-up communication regarding your move. <br><br>Please email us at socialmedia@goaptive.com with your service address and any additional details you’d like to provide so we can look into this further and connect with you directly. We're here to help!<br><br>-Alexis

Beware of this Scam Company! Zero Stars!!! Here are just a few of the issues: Sales tactics: high-pressure, intrusive sales tactics at our door. Contract issues: we never received a “contract” that they are holding us to. They charged me $109 two days ago. I called to cancel and they literally will not let me. They are also refusing to perform the service I just paid for. They say I have to pay $199 to cancel on top of the $109 they just charged!! Not like it matters because the service they perform is ineffective anyway. Service effectiveness: the service was also ineffective for pest issues. They are threatening to send me to collections if I don’t pay them their outrageous cancellation fee. This is insane. Please use another service and thank me later.

I had a very bad experience with this company. They failed to complete the work that was agreed upon in the contract. Right outside my front door I could see cobwebs everywhere, when they sent out another tech to complete the work, they once again failed to do so. I could find cobwebs all over right as I stepped out my front door. On top of that the second tech broke my outdoor light fixture. I went through back and forth emails about getting compensated for the damage and was offered credit. I told them I had already canceled the service and do not want credit and got fed some line about how difficult it would be to get me cash and they would have to go through legal department. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR when they knock on your door DO NOT ANSWER

Do not use this service. They con elderly people into signing a year contract and then do not provide the service they said they would. These people convinced my 79 yr old mother into signing a year contract for pest control. They’ve come twice to treat the house. The second time they came the person came after dark, missed all the wasp nests and looked like all he did was rub a brush around the top and not spray or treat the house. I had to call to get a wasp nest dealt with and when they came back to do so all he did was knock three nests off, leave them on the ground and walk away. I called back and said he had to come back and when he finally did he said they just knock them off and leave them on the ground. I thought these were professionals. The reason you hire professionals is to properly dispose of bugs and pests and this guy didn’t do any of it. When I asked him why he didn’t spray he said this is a reservice we don’t spray or treat. Complete joke. I then called again and they have confirmed they canceled the service and will not charge but when I insisted I get written confirmation he said he sent an email three times but it never came through then when I told him he can either give me his direct line or send a text confirming no fee will be charged the call got magically disconnected. This is horrible service that seems to target elderly people and not deliver the service they promised.

Just had a most unpleasant encounter with one of Aptive salespersons going door to door. The man was banging on my door and ringing the bell repetitively until I cracked my door enough to tell him I was not interested. I shut the door only to have him YELL his pitch through the door. I opened the door again and told him to leave my property. He CONTINUED to argue with me: “Who you gonna call, ha?” Really?! Do they think people are going to want to use their company with these tactics?

Provider response

Hi Wendy,<br><br>Thank you for taking the time to share this, and I’m truly sorry for the experience you had. What you described is not the respectful standard we expect from anyone representing Aptive, and I understand why it left such a negative impression.<br><br>We take concerns like this very seriously. This feedback has been escalated to our leadership team so it can be reviewed and addressed appropriately. "Joe from Aptive" is going door to door in our neighborhood doing cold calls to try and drum up business. We have a very clear no soliciting sign posted and he had the audacity to repeatedly knock on our door while we are putting our kids to bed just before 7pm. Wholly unacceptable. The one thing he guaranteed is that we will never consider doing business with this company.

Salesperson knocked and rang many times tonight at 9pm in Santa Clara, I waited for quite a while for him to leave, but he stayed for a long time, shouting and knocking, then ringing the bell, etc. I came to the open window and asked him to please go away, as it's too late to talk to strangers, but he just went through his whole script several times, even though I kept interrupting and asking him to leave. He said everyone else on my street bought his services, and that I could too, for half price. Really gross and creepy behavior. I am shocked that everyone else on my street bought services from him, it's almost too hard to believe. The next morning I noticed he marked my door with chalk, which is also unnecessary and unacceptable, hopefully that means I'm an unfriendly house and he won't be a bother again.

BUYER BEWARE!! This is not a company you want to do business with. Do not ever allow autopay. I signed a 2 year contract with them for 4 times per year with FREE service if necessary in between treatments. After the first 2 services, they started coming every other month without my request and charged me for each time. Unfortunately, Im an elderly woman who did not check my statements adequately and, to date, with one quarter remaining on the contract, they have already over charged me $601!! I have since discovered that this is their method of operation.

Aptive Environmental has always been my go to company for pest control. Everything they use is natural and most importantly it is safe for animals. I had the pleasure of meeting Nate Grigsby as he sprayed my house. He was very professional, knowledgeable, thorough, and friendly. He took the time to explain everything to me as well which I really appreciate. Thank you 😊

I signed up for a quarterly service with Aptive. For a time, things went well. Today I received an email stating my next service was scheduled for 9/12. I had just received service on 8/8. I signed in to my account online to reschedule, but the only rescheduling options I was given were 9/15 and 9/17. I looked for a way to cancel my service, but it cannot be done from an online account. I called an 855 number and after a 10-minute wait I was connected to a service representative in the Philippines. I told her I wanted to terminate my service and explained why. She offered to schedule my next year's appointments in advance and reduce the cost by one third. I told her I do not do business with crooks. The terms of the contract call for 50-80 days between service appointments. They attempted to schedule my services with a 35-day interval. This works out to 10 times a year instead of the quarterly service I originally contracted for. The annual cost increases by 2 and 1/2 times on this schedule. I checked, I had been charged 6 times the previous year, and I had already had 4 services this year by 8/8. If you engage this company, keep a close eye on how much you are being charged on an annual basis. They cannot be trusted.

Read the fine print of the contract. We sold the property being serviced and they wouldn’t cancel the contract. They were going to charge me a year’s worth of service as a penalty. Buyer beware!

These are a bunch of kids that dont know what they are doing. This is the worst Pest Control Company that I have ever dealt with. I have had bad expirience after bad expirience over and over again. I show them whats going on and they said Ill need to send that to my supersvisor and I never hear back. The dont show up when they say that they will, Now the window is all day so I have to take the entire day off, in hopes that they show up. I dont schedule my appointments and dont even know when to expect t hem until the day before or day of. Then if Im not home they do nothing but send me a list of everything that they did. My question is "Dont you see my cameras?" The wont climb under the house, they dont go up in the attic, they only cover ANTS, Spiders, Slugs, and Fleas, and rodents. but the rodents they just set the traps and not where I really needed them. I had a trap go off and I had to wait 3 days for them to come back and dispose of it. They dont cover dust mites, carpet beetles, Powder post beetles, termites. The cover just the pests that we can get rid of ourselves for way cheaper. I can go buy Turo or what ever its called for less then 10.00 and i just had to pay them 130. When I signed up I signed a contract and in the contract i was to be bille every 3 months. They changed it on me and do every 2 months. I didnt agree to that!!! Then I had 3 no shows 1 after another and I called each time. Then they canceled my subscription without contacting me. No explanation what so ever. I do not reccomend them, If you need a company with a subscripion contact ORKIN. Aptive isnt even in the top 10 of Best Pest Controls. It a bunch of kids that took a class and dont know what they are doing. I guess other people figured that one out. NOT IN THE TOP 10 BECAUSE THEY SUCK!!

TERRIBLE SERVICE! One star is even more than I would want to give them for a rating! I first signed on and the service was decent. I had the insects taken care of more than home treatment did, but I never got the insects completely gone from inside the house. They did not tell me that part of the treatment included treatment inside the house so for a long time, I went along without any indoor treatment. They only gave me insect sticky boxes for indoors. I continued to have insects come into the house. I finally called with my concerns. They told me about the indoor treatment. We had the indoor treatments done and it solved the problems for some time, however during the time of beginning my membership to when I finally canceled, they had risen the price 2 times! I was under the impression that I was grandfathered into a cost from the beginning. When I spoke to them about my cost, they told me they would lower the cost back down and then keep it at that new lowered cost for me because I had been a long time customer for them. A couple cycles past and then I logged on to check my account just to find that they had raised my price again! They didn't notify me of the increase and they went against what they had told me they would honor. I called to cancel my service because of their dishonest service. I spoke to a Juan. He was one of the most unprofessional "customer service" representative I have spoken to! I called and began nicely stating that I just want to cancel my subscription. Instead, I was on the phone for much longer than I wanted to be telling him I do not want any other promotional service or to hear any promises of a lowered price again. I only wanted to cancel. He continued talking as though I didn't just express that I just want to cancel my service. He finally cancelled. I asked for his name and his response was "I told you my name is Juan". I'm not sure if this is just the standards of customer service anymore, but he failed to listen to my requests and failed to respond politely. I would NEVER recommend Aptive to ANYONE.

Maybe I am the only one, but I do NOT think people should be going door to door anymore trying to sale people things. Guy came to our house today and was pretty persistent trying to get us to switch from our current pest control, who is all natural, to aptive. Even if you’re selling a good product, chances are if you come to my door, I am not going to buy your product.. Especially more so if you are pushy about it. You shouldn’t have to go door to door to tell everyone that you are number one in the business of pest control.. If you are in fact number one. Make calls or send mail advertisement or leave flyers… Do NOT come to my door.

A salesman came to the door and when I told him I was happy with my current service, the salesman got mad and wouldn't stop talking. He kept raising his voice. I said I'm going to close the door now. I finally had to. He yelled through the door for another 30 seconds calling me horrible things that I won't repeat. They need to tell their salespeople that potential customers have a million reasons not to want to talk to them. In my case, I am very happy with my current service and I needed to get back to my computer for a project that was going to happen in moments.

A representative from Aptive came to our door today, took a picture of a portion of our house without our permission while standing on our front porch. He then attempted to pressure my elderly mother into hiring him to spray pesticides on our property that would kill ants and spiders (among other things). My mother, knowing how beneficial spiders are, told him that she did not want to kill spiders. His response? “Neither do I, I just want to make sure the place looks good.” At the expense of what? Beneficial insects, food supply, the environment? After hearing that this company indiscriminately kills insects on the property rather than using environmentally friendly options, my family is sure not to hire them for any services.

Overly aggressive salesmen going door to door, despite telling at least 6 different salesmen no already, AND ignoring any "no trespassing" and "no soliciting" signs. What do I have to do? I don't want to argue with a salesman twice a week.

Very unprofessional business practices. The salesperson has repeatedly come to our house, ignoring our no soliciting signs. He shows up 7:30 to 8pm at night, and then knocks repeatedly or rings the doorbell. I will never even consider this business. Again, it is very inconsiderate and unprofessional what they are doing.

We’ve been in contract with these guys for a while and they never call or email to schedule/reschedule appointments. They just show up at our house without notification when we are at work so they aren’t even able to get into our backyard and complete the service that we pay for. I have tried calling numerous times to try and fix this issue. The wait times to talk to a representative are very lengthy. We are cancelling our agreement with them.
