SavATree - Tree Service & Lawn Care

The recent snowstorm brought a 50’ pine tree down on our roof. Myrick Johnson came out to assess the situation within an hour of our call to SavATree and his crew did an excellent job removing the tree without causing any additional damage to or roof. All work was done at a very reasonable price. We are very pleased!

SavATree has been caring for my trees for years with lots of TLC. Their arborists and crews listen to our desires and share ideas for problem solving and we are always happy with results. This year we tried their holiday lighting service and LOVE how it turned out. My outdoor decor brings me joy. Thanks SavATree!

Sav a Tree has been taking care of our shrubs for many years. They are prompt and professional to our needs. This year we had them do our holiday decorations on the outside of our house. Their crew was sooo good; professional and knew what they were doing. Very polite and nice and helped to troubleshoot an electrical issue on our end. Can't say enough good things about them. Plus, our house looks absolutely amazing! The blow-up horses are ours.

They are very professional and courteous. It took them two trips to meet our specs but they gladly came back a second time with all their heavy equipment to completely satisfy our needs and exceed expectations. They did this without any rancor, but very graciously, much appreciated. I will definitely use them again as needed.

Sara Jensen and her crew were outstanding in their work and their wonderful Customer service approach. Sara’s assessments for tree care are excellent. Her team is professional, careful and inspire confidence. The result is excellent tree care. I am grateful we discovered this outstanding organization to care for our trees.

We had a monster of a tree (tree of heaven, Ailanthus altissima) taken down by a Savatree crew. They did a magnificent job. The crew were professional, pleasant, and FAST. They had all the equipment on hand to accommodate a different plan than the original one envisioned, since we found that our yard had a slope that could have put the basket truck at a potentially dangerous angle. The team adapted and pressed on. We had considered going with another company who offered to execute the work for a lower price, but they would not have had as large and efficient a crew, nor all the trucks and machinery that tackled today’s job so quickly. The savatree team are well choreographed and worked smoothly together; no yelling or panic. They provided peace of mind.

I've now had Sav-A-Tree do tree work twice now, and great experience both times. Sara, the Arborist, really takes the time to understand what is happening with each tree and walks through her recommendations. She also reviews her estimate and work order, which are very thorough. The tree crews do a wonderful job introducing themselves and then getting to work and truly leave no trace behind - just fantastic clean up! I really can't say enough good things.

Didn’t hire this company but they pulled up to my side yard on a dead end street walked through across my yard and discarded trash in my containers before leaving. Don’t appreciate my property being treated like a rest stop.

This marks my 4th time having SavATree to my small urban yard and they never disappoint. Top professionals from the arborist to the cutting and fertilizing crews. On the job promptly, every tool needed, including specialized ones, already in hand, everyone properly kitted for the work. As a SavAtree crew arrives, the crew chief greets you, identifies themself, and introduces the crew quickly and get to it without further ado. They work efficiently, focused on the job, as a team, everyone wearing necessary safety googles, masks, and hearing protectors. No chit chat no back talk. For me SavATree checks every box for excellent. And when they leave, the yard is totally cleaned of cuttings and equipment.

Not pleased. Not one single thing was done as discussed with the team lead providing the cost estimate. Neither of two hollies was trimmed to specifications and curb appeal is nonexistent. Neither of the cherry laurel hedges were thinned. Fine ground trim debris was sprayed over everything in sight, including my porch, bench, one of the hedges and the garage door. MOST importantly, I came home to find the boxwood I had stressed was not to be touched had been reshaped into a lopsided egg and it had not even been marked with the tape signifying it was to be trimmed. I have an email from the team leader agreeing that the work done was disappointing and unprofessional. However, following a discussion about having a different team do repairs to what could be repaired, I decided that it just would not be wise. I cannot recommend them and I will not be employing them in the future.

I’m so pleased with Sara Jensen and her crew. They came right on time and were so respectful of my property and my neighbors. The two trees they had to remove were huge and they were very methodical in their approach to getting them down. It took 2 days and they cleared and cleaned all the debris out every day. I highly recommend Sara Jensen, her crew and Sav-a-tree to anyone who needs tree or landscaping.

I would advise finding a different company. We paid nearly $2,000 to have a tree removed and hauled away. The tree still stands over our fence and the wood remains, despite our contract (image included.) Don't make the same mistake we did and take your business elsewhere. SavATree is completely unprofessional and unreliable. **UPDATE** After reaching out to the company and posting this review, SavATree came back out and cut down the remainder of the tree and hauled away the wood as was agreed to in our contract.

Terrible results. Would recommend this company to my enemies.... After spending about 2200 for a year's program, my lawn looked horrible. That was after using them for a number of years prior with so so results. Even have bare spots because they decided to seed after the rainy season in September. Not at all concered with making my lawn better. When I complained all the response I get is crickets.

Today I was trying to exit my neighborhood on a road used for school traffic, and a truck from this company blocked the road. Cars piled up behind as the people from the company could not figure out how to operate the equipment that was blocking the road to move it out of the way. They were having a good laugh at us waiting to get through. After waiting and waiting, the cars backed up onto other streets finally started to back out. By the time I was able to back out and go around through a different route, I was late to work for a meeting. If you are going to block busy streets during the morning rush hour, you should have gotten a permit to block off the road or be sure your people know how to operate the equipment before blocking a road.

If I could give them zero stars, I would. This company is an absolute joke and you’re better off spending your time and money anywhere else. They have zero organization. Routes and services are constantly missed and having to be rescheduled. Their managers are rude and lack the knowledge is clear because they’re unable to assist with the most basic of issues. It’s a shock this company has been in service as long as it has.

UPDATE: On June 6, our arborist recommended two treatments for our ailing dogwood tree. He said the first would probably be sometime in July. I emailed him twice with questions in the following week and never heard back. On June 24 I called the office because our tree was looking very sick. The woman I spoke to said she would talk to the arborist and get back to me. Today is July 1, I haven't heard anything from SavATree and I'm pretty sure the tree is beyond help at this point. Would definitely NOT recommend. ********* Cory was very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. I'm looking forward to getting our Dogwood tree healthy and thriving again with his help.

I hired SavATree to cut back some branches that were too close to my house and to bring some more light into my shady backyard. Sara was super knowledgeable and helpful, explaining how different solutions could meet my goals. These before and after pictures were taken in the same spot at the same time on two different days—you can see what a difference there is! I would happily recommend Sara and SavATree.

I scheduled an appointment for an arborist to look at my trees. Was given the name of the person who was coming and the confirmed date and time. The arborist did not show-up. When I called 45 minutes after their scheduled arrival time they said I didn’t have an appointment on their calendar. I had the name of the arborist who was meant to come and they had my name and address in their system. There was no uncertainty in my schedule and I was told the appointment was set for August 23rd. A quick check of my iPhone showed that I did not receive a call from them on August 22nd.

Mark Selivan came to give a free consultation on tree health and gave some advices and price quotes. I was still pondering about the options and wanted to know more, but he seemed in a hurry - car parked on the street with the engine still on, not actively describing the options and how the trees will be pruned and what the results will look like. He basically responded to my questions, not taking the initiative to give more details. When I asked him to look at other trees in the back yard, to my utter surprise, he said he wouldn't go because I will not use his service. What? I have other trees to ask for his help and he just refused to even take a look? My house is less than 1/4 acre; it only takes him 5 seconds to walk to the back and he refused to do it. He said it sounds like I think the quote is too high and I will get quotes from other companies. What an arrogant guy with deep prejudice! He simply judged people by appearance and the way they said things. He did not know I did a thorough research to convince myself that his company is the best I'd want to spend money to save my trees. He did not know this is the only company on my list. He just thought my pause, my pondering of the treatment plan was a sign of resistance to the high quotes, not knowing that he gave scattered information that lacked details. He assumed I will not (or cannot afford, due to my very down-to-earth outfit or my accent) spend the money. I said, "what kind of customer service you are brining in today? You just second guessed people's good intention." He seemed happy when I asked him to leave since his car's engine was still on anyway. Mr. Selivan, I always think only those who love trees will become arborists, but today you prove me wrong. By the way, I thought the quotes of $175 for feeding two giant old trees and $1600 for cutting one and pruning the other are quite reasonable. But you lost this opportunity for your company today.

Very overpriced and ineffective. A large piece of our tree collapsed two weeks after their visit... no storm or anything. Which is the reason we hired them, to cut back any unhealthy branches. We had to hire someone else in the end who was much cheaper.. to do the job we wanted. Go with another provider. There are better ones in the area.
