I have nothing but good things to say and share for Long's Pest Control. The first service we received was in a rental house with a MASSIVE rodent infestation in the attic in 2020. Our landlords had Long's do the service and the gentleman went above and beyond to complete the service, putting my family and I at ease. When we purchased our own home, we continued to use Long's for general pest maintenance. We had a pavement ant issue in 2024 and they were able to rid the house of the ants. Most recently, we had our quarterly service in August 2025 and the gentleman went above and beyond to make sure our yard was safe not just for us, but also for our dogs. They are communicative, punctual and provide very specific information on the services provided and services which might be needed for your house. I 100% recommend Long's. We had a bald faced hornet's nest in our yard. Both my husband and had been stung and it prevented us from enjoying our yard. I called Long's Pest and they explained the process clearly, came out in a few days, were prompt and professional. They were very informative and discovered where the hive was, removed it and treated the area. They looked in another area on the property where I had seen hornets flying around. They didn't find anything there. I feel so much better knowing that we can enjoy our yard without being stung! Called about a nest, wasn't sure what type of wasp it was. They were able to diagnose it as paper wasps from pictures via text. They were also honest and told me it wasn't worth the cost of removal due to the height of the nest. Rare to find businesses that will tell you the truth when it costs them money. Will reach out to them first for any pest issues going forward.

That high up, we can treat them but they will more than likely rebuild. We try and make sure we make our customers happy, so that is why we are honest and let you know it really wasn't worth the cost to do a treatment!

Had a unit of a rat stuck in a trap this morning and after calling multiple places, I landed on Long Pest control after they said they could send someone out on short notice. The person who helped me was Curtis and he was very helpful. He took care of the rat even though it had gotten loose from the trap, took a look around the house very thoroughly, and was very clear and informative on how to address the issue. 10/10 would recommend.

I called to ask about a yellow jacket issue (they’ve started to attack with no provocation), the guy who answered was extremely condescending, he essentially scoffed when I said we weren’t sure where the nest was, and said they’d have to charge even if they didn’t find a nest. Well DUH, we don’t expect them to come for free. He went on and on, explaining over and over, as if I’m some kind of idiot. It was a truly strange and off-putting experience.

Sometimes we receive reports of wasps on a property but find no signs of an actual nest, which may indicate they are feeding or looking for water and the nest is on another property. I heard that they are great for ants, Bees, etc however when it comes to rats...HORRIBLE! I developed a rat issue due to wooded vacant lot being torn down for businesses, across the street from my house. I tried to get rid of them myself with snap traps and electrocution battery powered traps but no success. Finally went for an "expert" which was Longs Pest Control. They came out and did help alot with showing us where all the entry points were and how to seal them off. So that part was great! We followed their advice and made a wall where the big entry point was and sealed it off. But then they set out traps and said "we will return in 2 weeks to see if we caught anything" and left. Two WEEKS!? Seriously? Two weeks of them breeding more and causing more damage. When they returned 2 weeks later, all the traps were empty! So instead of taking a more aggressive approach they again reset the traps and said again that they will return in 2 weeks!! After those 2 weeks, all the traps were still empty!! They went to reset the bait in traps again! Obviously this method isn't working! I thought that they were going to locate the nest and bomb it or something like you do those flea bombs. At this point we have been paying them for 3 months of service yet NOT ONE SINGLE RAT WAS EVER CAUGHT!!! So we canceled their service. Another thing I disagreed with is when I asked them how I should safely clean up the rat urine, nesting material and feces they said to just sweep it or shop vac it!! On the CDC website in bold writing it clearly states, "Do not sweep or vacuum up mouse or rat urine, droppings, or nests. This will cause virus particles to go into the air, where they can be breathed in." (In reference to the Hanta Virus). So why would a professional pest control company tell you to do exactly what the Center Of Disease Control warns you not to do to protect yourself from potentially deadly viruses? UPDATE: The "wall" that we were advised to put up so that we could seal the entry points has now also failed. The rats just ate a hole through it

As tenant continues to update review to stay relevant with each time we respond, the items being stated are not accurate statements. As for the home, it has struggled with rodents for some time, looking at our service records a large rat was removed at the first follow up check. Tenant had made no repairs at this time to the home allowing rodents to freely come and go. Due to the pheromones from the infestation at this home it will continually attract neighboring rodents to the home, hence the importance of securing the structure. For a trapping program to be successful it does require all entry points be repaired/sealed, to which in this circumstance………. never happened. The home had an opportunity for a warranty as long as the entry points were secured but at the final trap check no repairs were made to home allowing neighboring rodents to come and go as they please. We offered to perform another trap reset to allow time for the repairs to be made, which was declined by tenant, so we proceeded forward with setting up the bait stations for exterior population control with no warranty on the home. Trapping rodents in summer can be difficult due to the amount of exterior food sources, it is imperative all recommendations to secure the home made by an LPC technician get completed. When this doesn’t happen, most home owners understand there is an opportunity for a reinfestation. LPC provided a bid to make repairs to the home at the initial service which was declined. This was all explained very thoroughly to Ms. Miller by multiple technicians as well as multiple phone calls with the office, and unfortunately when the program is not followed, the desired results may not be achieved and that seems to be the case here. <br><br>It's unfortunate to see reviews like this come in. Even up to the time when this account was cancelled early, we had not received any complaints about how the service had gone. We were told that the neighborhood cats were managing the problem. This is a situation where a tenant is ordering services for the home with owner permission. The access points we recommended be fixed were never fixed, one of them being the access to the crawlspace which had no door. When we deal with trapping rodents one of the most important steps is sealing up entry points and preventing their continued access to the home. It can be very difficult to trap rodents who have free reign of an area. In Washington State the only rodent that carries Hantavirus is the deer mouse which is incredibly rare in urban areas and recently occupied buildings.

Sadly after being a long time customer we will no longer use Long Pest Control. A week ago we contacted them to tell them we have killed three large spiders in our bedroom and my wife had been recently but while sleeping. The outside of our house was covered with spiders as well. Bryce the office managers response was “we’re working against Mother Nature”. I thought that was the point of hiring a pest control company- to combat Mother Nature! They offered to come out and perform another treatment- full charge of course. I asked about their guarantee but because we have shrubs around our house we don’t qualify. Everywhere I see spiders on the outside of my house there are not any shrubs. So there goes that theory. We scheduled the extra service anyway because we don’t want spiders overrunning our home. We made the mistake of not putting our dogs inside when we left so the tech said he could not perform our service. We asked if the could spray the bad areas where we are seeing the spiders and where the dogs would not interfere - they refused. Instead they charged us a $65 missed appointment fee. We were willing to pay the the full fee of $108 for a partial treatment so at least we would get something done and not waste $65 but they refused. So much for customer service.

We started service for this home almost exactly two years ago and had very few issues for the first year. Since July 2021 we’ve recommended at each quarterly service to cut back trees and shrubs from the home. Orb weavers that prefer to be up high, making intricate webs in the eaves and around doorways, may never touch the ground and cross through our products before making it onto a home. Keeping trees and shrubs cut back so they are not touching the house helps immensely with preventing spiders from crossing onto and making webs on the home. When we have issues like these on our paperwork, we may void the warranty that normally comes with our service.<br><br>When it was reported a couple of weeks ago that you were experiencing spider issues, we explained that trees and shrubs would have to be cut back for a warranty service to be performed, but we could schedule your upcoming regular quarterly service and offered to treat inside at no additional cost. The interior treatment was declined, and just the exterior service was scheduled. We were told the interior issues were not serious enough to warrant treating inside the home.<br><br>When we arrived 9/20 to perform the service as scheduled, the gates around the side of your home were still locked and dogs outside in the back yard. We were told the appointment was forgotten about, and so assessed our $65 fee for missed appointments. When this happened previously in April we opted not to charge, and instead gave a warning that missed appointments will incur a fee if they happen again.<br><br>Our policy is to never perform partial treatments, even when we have to otherwise charge for a missed appointment. It’s not fair to our customers if we charge for partially performed services. It also calls into question the quality and validity of the service and warranty we try to provide if full treatments are not performed.

Fine Print: 50% CANCELLATION FEE FOR WHATEVER REASON! First, I wanted to say the services provided were good/fair like most companies do, nothing special to talk about. I am here reviewing my contract process. When I was asked to sign the one-year contract, the technician explained what services would be included in the contract. However, he either forgot or intentionally not to explain what the cancellation fee would be. Since the actual contract presented to me was on a small tablet, I did not read through the contract which I usually do. I later learned that "Cancellation within the first year service agreement (initial & four quarterly services) FOR WHATEVER REASON, will result in a charge of 50% of the remaining service agreement balance of that first year period. " When I had to cancel my services, I had no choice but to pay 50% of the remaining two quarterly services.

Thank you for the compliment on the services we provided as we take pride in excellent service from the front office taking your call and scheduling to the technicians in the field who access and perform the work. Rodent control is not a "here today, gone tomorrow" type of service and there are many variables to gain control and keep them from getting back into a home. At times, control can occur very quickly and at times can take several months, especially if rodents have been there for quite some time. Our rodent control program is an Initial service followed up with four quarterly services beginning 30 days after the Initial service as you have stated. Since this is a warranted program and customers may need several services additionally (for free) in the first couple months, we must set our pricing for the entire year and put in a cancellation fee for people who want to use our service at first with many free services then cancel without finishing their agreement, which we could not afford to offer. And, it is our policy to either mail or email customers copies of their service agreement for full disclosure on the terms and conditions. I apologize for any indifferences that may have been created as we feel we are trying our best to educate and inform each and every one of our customers on the full process of our services and commitments with them. I highly recommend not using this company. They are overpriced and are in the business to nickel and dime you for service that you didn’t agree upon. They are not transparent in their “house visits” and they will show up without an appointment to set traps, then email you an invoice. When I disputed the charges because I did not approve of the visit, they continued to argue with the charges and defend the service call. They are not in the business to work with consumers. They will take advantage of you as they can. Being being a single woman at 33 allowed them to think they could stiff arm me, and they did. I now owe them money for services that I did not agree upon.

Very difficult to present a "different" side of the story when accusations are not even close to the truth. I have already replied to this via the Tacoma Better Business Bureau and if anyone is interested, they are free to visit my extremely in-depth reply there.<br>As a 40+ year business starter of this company, we provide extremely transparent information from the beginning and actually "engage" with the customer on their questions, concerns and choices for their particular pest issue. We do not just "show up" and send our customers a bill, especially when trying to work with an "active" infestation in which we are working with the homeowner during this process time.<br>The problem on this account is that after we performed the initial service, Ms Ross did not hold up her end of the agreement which was to secure the openings we documented for her on the inspection and did not allow us to perform the followup to the initial service in a timely manner as she left out of town for several weeks not letting us know and she did not return any phone calls. Upon her return we had to re-do some of the service as she had still not closed off the openings as rodents were continuing to use these as access points into the home. We let her know that an additional service was going to be necessary since she had been gone so long and didn't stay with the time frame that was necessary. She could not understand this as she was too angry to reason with and stated she wanted to be done with our company. Even though she was bound by a one year agreement, I was in agreement to not enforce with penalty for her to cancel and allowed her out of the agreement with NO PENALTY. This is not taking advantage of a customer as was stated. I hope she found the right company for her and her rat infestation was eliminated.

Worst ever, don't use. Technician verbally on the phone explained how he wanted to see it done, we did exactly what he said, went back out and said we did it wrong. His words on the phone where opposite of what he wrote. Bait and switch!

You ordered a WDO (wood destroying organism) inspection report in which we performed and identified wood boring beetle infestation and damage to the understructure of the home. We instructed and educated you in that you needed to remove all of the infested substructure material as the beetles in the middle of the wood can bore and migrate to other areas of the structure without coming into contact with the exposed treated surfaces. When we came back out to treat, the technician informed you that not all of the infested material was replaced and if we treated, we could not issue a warranty in which you said fine, go ahead and treat anyway, which we did. We did not receive any contact or complaints to our office until you leave this negative review. I cannot understand why we are the "worst ever, don't use, run". We were professional and performed the inspection to the highest of standards. I have no idea what generated this review. If you look at our other reviews, as the original owner of this 40+ year company, we have prided ourselves with excellent customer relations as well as the highest of standards in worked performed. Waste of time and money, they lie when booking then try to really quickly slide a contract in saying if they do a bad job you gotta pay them anyway if ya cancel them, was told one price then they tried to switch that, the lady who booked it then called back to call me a liar rather then admit she made a mistake, took a day off a work for nothing, and still have ants, terminix will be here Wednesday so i suggest you all call someone else cause these jokes will either take advantage of you or waste your time. Edit: sentinel pest control small family company is on the way to make sure my day isnt wasted and they cost less to.

Called mid day on a Wednesday, got a partial quote for our building with a follow up call coming. No follow up call by end of next day so I called in, they still didn't have a quote finalized, and then said they had no availability for 4 more business days, even though the initial day I called they could have booked me on the day I needed. Moving on to the next of many options.
