Rarely ever do I write a review in which I am outraged by this company. The work they did on my crawl space is unsatisfactory for paying 10,000 dollars. Not only did they not finish the job the first time, but they left it in such a poor state that I needed to hire another company to finish the work. When I attempted to resolve the matter with the company I was given the run around and asked repeatedly for pictures and proof. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Take a look at these pictures. Would you want a company to come in a repair your joists and just leave lumber unattached? Would you want a company to spray for mold and termites but not actually do that? Would you want a company to remove insulation but then not complete that job and leave trash bags under your house? Well that is exactly what I got.

Upon my realtors advice I chose BrickKicker’s to do a home inspection, actually two of them. The first helped identify problems with plumbing, electrical and carpentry work. Would have saved me a great deal of money had the home worked out. This company conducted my VA termite inspection and treatment, clearing the home and stating it was properly treated. However, just two months after purchasing the home, I am already experiencing termites. UPDATE: Before I made this review, I called the company twice and both times they told me they would be unable to service my home again because the sellers didn’t pay for a termite bond. I wrote my initial review because I was seeing LIVE termites swammers in my home. If they were dead, I wouldn’t have an issue. My issue is that whatever product they initially used was not effective and resulted in my home having a termite infestation.

So we get the mandatory VA termite inspection and then I setup to repair leaky spigots on the house (the home inspector also didn't catch them) and we DISCOVER termite damage! The fact that there was no mention of the rocks and soil touching the base of the sheathing (you would think they would know this is a potential source of infestation) and they didn't get down and move some of it to see if it had affected the sheathing. See Photos. I will be pursuing legal steps.

Based on the information provided, it appears we did a termite inspection on this property- which is on a slab foundation. These inspections are non-invasive, meaning that we do not remove exterior wall cladding, and are only able to inspect areas that are visually accessible. <br><br>Subterranean termites typically make their way into a home on a slab foundation through cracks in the slab or open expansion joints, and do not visually present themselves until the colony has already infested a section of the property. <br><br>You are correct regarding the base of the sheathing touching the soil, typically a home needs a 6 inch gap between the two. Hopefully the individual that did your home inspection called this out as a defect, however this is beyond the scope of review for a termite inspection. Feel free to reach out to our office and we would be happy to discuss setting your property up on a treatment and warranty plan.
I thought Michael was amazing when he first came to the house, but within the first week of closing on the house we found two major issues that cost us over $4000 to fix. We feel they should’ve caught both. The first was a gas leak underneath both fireplaces in the house. We were lucky that the gas company found it when they came to set up service on closing day, although then we were without hot water for a week while it was getting fixed. They also failed to recognize that the whole home dehumidifier underneath our home was completely dysfunctional. It would have been nice to know these things so we could have negotiated to have them fixed. There were a few other small things, but those one could argue weren’t a priority. These two items though, we definitely feel should have been found and we should’ve been warned about them so we could negotiate. The biggest reason I would not recommend them though is because when I reached out to express my concerns, I was told they would get back to me, and they never did. For that reason alone I’m giving a very low rating. Had they even attempted to make things right, I still would have given a decent review.

Would rate ZERO stars if I could. Let’s start off by saying that the two gentlemen who came out were extremely unprofessional. They left our phone box open & hose running causing a huge spike in our water bill. They told us verbally after the inspection that there were only minor fixes needed to be made. Once we received a written report, there were major fixes needed to be made. Shocked & surprised, we will not be going thru them for any treatment per their dishonesty. 0/5 WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!!!!

The inspection on my home seemed great then the Seller hired them to do some of the repairs they suggested. That’s when everything went downhill. They were paid to remove debris, install a vapor barrier and spray for pests. First off the crawl space was ripped open and never closed back up at all! On further investigation they didn’t even remove the old (clear) plastic and the new vapor barrier is NOT secured in any way whatsoever making it completely ineffective. When the first repair man showed up I *specifically* drew attention to the vines growing out of multiple vents from under the house and stated that would need to be killed and removed. It remains completely untouched which means it’s going to continue destroying any plastic that’s installed. I also asked that they install new vents which I would pay for and was not done or even noted on the work order at all. The photos are literally what I can see from the crawl space opening, god only knows what they did or didn’t do under the rest of the home if they didn’t even pretend to do a good, complete job at the opening. I’ve tried contacting their office multiple times now and keep getting told that the work was completed. I’m extremely disappointed in the work that was done.

I thought they did a good job at first but after starting the rehab, there's very high amounts of evidence that the inspection was flawed. I thought I was skeptical for no reason but multiple contractors reviewed their work and have helped me with repairs and clarified just how poorly the home inspection was. Additionally, it took over nearly 2 week for me to get answers on really simple questions and not to mention the service was a bit crude and deflective when I tried to mention anything that was off clarification or was simply wrong.
Be wary of this company, they always they are good but they are not. I got screwed over with my home I purchased recently by them not doing their job. I called to complain and they gave me the inspector who inspected my home and he answered once and never got back to me. Find someone else and do your research on them. I am writing this because they didn't want to solve my issue and because the contract they have won't allow me to take them to court.
Brickkicker has now performed two home inspections for me and they seem qualified. However, I am buying from across the country and asked to have some of the images sent to me since they are tiny and compressed in the report. That was six days ago and I have received NOTHING. I can't recommend this service as there is zero follow through after they are paid.
These guys are terrible. They missed obvious water damage and they are awful communicators. Was difficult to even schedule an appointment. They don't check their messages and don't call you back. Just awful. Use another inspector. *EDIT* Pretty surprising for a company to get caught in such an easy to debunk lie. Don't use these guys, cost me hundreds in repairs. Maybe a photo of your own contract will help you remember dissatisfied customers.
