do NOT recommend this company for services!!! past two times weve had technicians come out they did NOT listen to any of our concerns. today 3/6 we had a technician come out who ended up leaving their duster in our backyard knowing we have dogs and our dog ended up picking it up and chewing on it (does not matter if their supplies are pet friendly) if it is ingested anything can happen. called to let their company know and they were not understanding of the situation, they wanted the tech to come back and pick it up😂😂😂. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND‼️‼️

I had no soliciting sign on my door when the gentleman came to my door. I STILL CHOSE to get the service. He DID explain IF I CANCELED my plan before the year it would be $400 ONLY NO LATE FEES OR other charges would be added to that. After six times of them coming I had a mouse issue they did not tell me there was a come through in my back yard to enter from outside to inside my house. I then had to take care of that problem MYSELF! Unprofessional at the least especially to charge you $400 when they’re gonna add charges onto that if you don’t keep it for a year Or late on the payment. I don’t ever write about companies and it’s crazy that they have 4.8 stars yet within the last year of looking at their lowest ratings. They have many complaints. They have not left any voicemails or anything stating that I was behind. Yes, it is my responsibility to keep up with my bills, but you did come to my door when I had a no soliciting sign up and I still chose to put money in this company‘s pocket I will never schedule or be a part of this Company again. I seen a company trying to prosper and I tried to support it and this is why many companies fail these days because they’re in it for the money and not for the customers. It’s diabolical I owe $600 in my lease agreement was up in one more month. I’m very upset and they will not in here. I will be putting out further and letting people know especially around my neighborhood not to schedule with this company. I see many other companies coming to my neighborhood for pest control now I see why.

Very disappointing service I’ve been very patient, but this company has not provided the service they promised. They were supposed to spray my entire property, yet they only sprayed the front and completely ignored the backyard. My home is still full of spiders and other bugs, so whatever product they use clearly doesn’t work. When I reached out to express my concerns, they said there was nothing they could do — and now they want to charge $300 just to cancel the contract. I’m very disappointed and frustrated. I do not recommend this company; they do not stand behind their service or care about their customers.

I had Alta from 2023-2025. In that time, ants and flies have been abundant. Their services do not seem to prevent, rather just kill them eventually. These products are not as effective as they should be. Service-wise, the customer service reps are very nice, which earned them 2 stars, but will continue to push to keep paying, when you owe them nothing, and do not want them to come back out. The door to door salesmen lied about the initial price, needed VOICE CONFIRMATION, which is SUPER shady, and should have made me avoid this. Then when I tried to close my account AFTER the contract period, they tried to tell me I needed to pay for another month of service, until I told them that my contract was over, and I would not pay it. Then they apologized, and told me I didn’t have to pay it, and I had to be transferred to have my account closed. Not only that, but if you want your account closed/ an appointment cancelled, you MUST call in. You cannot close or cancel the appointment via email or text, they make you call so they can sell to you. Just go to Lowe’s/Home Depot and get the granules for pest control. Do NOT waste your time or money here.

Alta is the absolute worst pest control service I've used since purchasing my house in 2016! When the gentleman came to the door, I figured I'd give them a chance as I was looking for a new provider as I caught the last company lying about completing services on my property when they infact did not. Since switching to Alta, I have had an increase in ants and other insects entering my home as well as a wasp nest sitting in a window for months now and yet every time they come service my property, the technician overlooks the wasp nest. I've complained and had callback services in-between regular scheduled service and still have a pest problem. If I see rain in the forecast of a scheduled service, I have to reschedule as the products being used do not stand up to the rain. I do not, nor will I ever recommend them to anyone!

Scam!!! They locked me in for a year and my mosquitos have NEVER been so bad. When I called customer service they told me it’s common to see an increase in mosquitos after they spray…WHAT!?!? They lock you in because they know their products don’t work!! Save yourself the hassle and call mosquito Joe.

The fact that BBB has this company as an A+ rating is an embarrassment. This is a dishonest scam. I have been under 'contract' since June of 2024. They clearly state if you are not satisfied they will retreat 'free of charge.' I have done this twice and both times they just move up the next billable appointment, so there is NEVER a retreat. Every service is billable as a punishment for complaining. They REFUSE to allow you to cancel the service, endlessly citing the contract, even though the contract states, 'After the initial 18-month period, service will continue until canceled. Service may only be cancelled by a physical written letter with a wet signature or by calling and speaking to a representative.' Every time I call to cancel, I get a different answer about a specific time I have to call back to cancel, though no one will define what that is. I spoke with Noah on Sept 8, 2025, who refused to let me cancel the service until my last treatment in October. When I complained to a manager, Garrett, I was told my last service is September and my account will go month to month in October. He again refused to allow me to cancel, stating I had to call back after my 'last service.' I may have to obtain legal representation since they make up what the contract holds me to, but they view themselves free of their obligations in the contract to provide this service to the satisfaction of me, the customer. It took 40 minutes from my day to have this pointless and frustrating conversation filled with lies and dishonesty. I was told Garrett is the 'highest lever person who speaks with customers.' The owner named Chris apparently can't be bothered with customer issues, and he expects the customer to be bound forever to monthly payments for ineffective treatments. Buyer beware! Read the BBB complaints before dealing with this company.

SCAM! SCAM! SCAM! his company is a scam 100%. My husband and I switched to this company about 6 months ago from pest out and have received the bare minimum of service. I'd say below the bare minimum. We've actually seen an increase in bug activity in and around my property. Im not sure they're even spraying anything each time they've come. Which has been twice, in the 6 months we've paid monthly for a service. We even called for an extra service due to the rise in bug activity and a worker came and only inspected the attic an tried to sell us another service and we were told he couldn't spray that day (even though thats what we asked for and scheduled for that day) so we had to wait another 2 weeks for the spray service and cobwed removal...so not only did we not receive the service we called and scheduled we were told there were snake skins in our attic that needed immediate attention, but he didn't show us any proof. Tried to say we needed snake traps and service for another 2 grand on our service. No thank you! Especially because my husband went in the attic after he left and there was NOTHING in there... Which once that worker came out my husband had to double check his work and ask him to actually remove the spider webs (after he said he did it) and was putting his broom away. There were still spider webs covering 75% of my windows. The only reason we switched was because we were told itd be better coverage for the yard and house because they can spray further. Cool! Yet we haven't seen any decrease in bug activity, we've seen an INCREASE. So...in conclusion don't do what we did and stupidly switch companies on abunch of lies and deceit and get stuck in a year long contract with a company that doesn't even do the services asked and paid for. Save your money and go with a company that takes pride in their work. This company does not. This company scams hardworking people out of their money for nothing.

I was not in need of pest control but I certainly wouldn't hire this company after today. You need to train your door to door people the meaning of "No Trespassing" and "No soliciting"! This guy even admitted that he saw our sign and still took his chances anyway. Some people have sleeping babies, and some people sleep in the day because they work overnight shifts. I guess I need a "do not disturb" sign from a hotel to get the point across to not knock or ring my bell?!? -Angry in Virginia Beach

Total scam. We have camera footage of their techs walking around our house, not even spraying anything. If you have time to put a flyer on my doorknob, you had time to at least knock down the spiderwebs that were next to it. They told us they could keep the mosquitoes away; the spray they used lasted 2 days at most. When you call and ask for a “free touchup”, they tell you they have to wait at least 2 weeks for EPA reasons (which, admittedly, isn’t their fault. But if their product worked, I wouldn’t need a touchup). I called them stating that I wanted a refund, since they weren’t providing the service they promised. I was told I still had to pay $500 in order to get out of their sub par service. Complete rip off.

Absolutely no integrity at all. The following saga started ages ago with a faint feeling that work wasn't being done the way they say it was, but as a busy teacher and mother of two busy boys I didn't really have time to follow up. Until April 12th. I happened to have been off that day and was home most of it so when I got the email notification that a service had occurred, I was surprised. I checked our home security cameras and was unable to see anyone. I also walked around our small property and could not see any indication of product being applied to our flower beds or grass and cob webs were visible in several easy to see places. I contacted the customer service line at that time with my concerns and after confirming the exact time of service I was able to confirm that the technician did approach my door and had sprayed something on the sidewalk and near the door on his approach. I was unable to see him apply anything to the grass but the view is limited so I dropped the complaint. 2 weeks later, I have ants walking all over my house, in the living room and bedroom which are on opposite ends of the home. At this point, being well out of the space of "still seeing one or two" I called the customer line back. They scheduled someone to come out and retreat our property later that week despite having a "free inspection" scheduled for the following Monday. I insisted on both of these appointments that I needed them to come at or after 3:00 so I could show them where the ants were. Brian came out late on Friday, May 3rd and as near as I could tell did a great job and a full service. He came at a great time, did a quick walk through, spraying inside the house as well as doing the full service outside. Unfortunately, another man - I don't know who since he came well before the agreed upon time and no email was sent as with the regular service technicians - came out on Monday, May 6th for our "free inspection." This guy kicked off an absolute nightmare. I noticed he was there when I got off work and checked our home cameras to see what the kids were doing. I called and spoke with him via my husband's phone at which point he relayed to me that he had had to come early due to needing to be in Norfolk and not being able to come back out our way. He said that the house looked fine, no sign of rodents or anything in the attic and that we were good to go. By the time I got home 15 minutes later, he was long gone. It was not until after I got home that my husband, who does not speak English natively, was able to relay to me that the technician had knocked down the molding around our attic access door. He also left our home having given my husband the impression that he didn't have tools to fix the damage but would be coming back to fix the problem shortly. I was immediately upset that no time frame had been given and had a bad feeling about the whole situation, especially given that I spoke to the technician after the damage had occurred and he didn't even mention it. When I called the customer service line it was clear that it had not been reported to the office either. Further, the agent I spoke with was absolutely useless. The silence that I got from him after I explained the situation was infuriating. I literally had to list options for him: call the technician and find out what the plan was when he left our home, or escalate me up to a manager who can help. His literal response was "I don't see a manager so I guess I'll call the technician..." After several tranfers, I was put in touch with "Kendall" who essentially informed me that Alta would absolutely take care of the damage but I had to do all of the work. I was left to research and reach out to handiman companies to gather quotes to submit for Kendall to choose between and contact regarding payment. It did take several days for me to get the companies to reply to me with the formal quotes to be able to forward them to Kendall but he did call me on May 13th (1 week after the damage) to confirm that he had received them.
