After many disappointing summers of no flowers and foliage being eaten as well as having to remove huge piles of deer excrement, when we saw the OhDeer signs going up in the neighborhood we felt it was worth a try! And, we have been so pleased! Josh is so pleasant to work with, and our yard has never looked better! Short Version: OhDEER is a lifesaver! They’ve made it possible for us to have any peace on our own property and they’ve shown time and time again that they take action to stand behind their product. The price is very affordable, they’ve offered multiple free re-sprays at the sight of even one tick, and brought out multiple trucks to make sure they saturated our entire property at no extra cost when they learned that we have a “problem” yard. If you have any issues with ticks, deer, or mosquitos, OhDEER should be your first call. Long Version: My husband, our German Shepherd, and I recently moved to Lynchburg from San Diego, and we rented a home specifically for its approx. 2 acres of yard for our pup and hosting firepit/game nights. Unfortunately, the yard was already heavily “occupied” by the all-too-familiar buggers known as ticks. While we’re all for making new friends, those buggers are a little too clingy. The yard backs up to a thickly-wooded area and lots of wildlife (deer, turkeys, coyotes, etc.) pass through our yard daily. Tall trees keep our yard fairly shaded which we assume has fostered some kind of super-tick ecosystem. Every time our dog or we would step foot into our regularly-mowed lawn, we’d find multiple ticks crawling on us. Since it’s not feasible for us to do extensive tick-checks every time we step foot outside our door just to avoid tick-borne diseases or any coming into our home, we hired OhDEER to professionally treat our yard. While we saw a dramatic decline in the amount of ticks found, unfortunately we were still regularly finding those buggers, even in the short grass. After chatting with our OhDEER yard tech (Josh), he seemed genuinely disheartened that we were still finding anything, as they’ve never had any other properties with that issue. Instead of ignoring or simply not caring about our frustrations, Josh took on our yard as his own personal mission. After multiple free re-sprays, working on “days-off,” bringing out multiple trucks to saturate our entire property, and applying granular treatment (all while still being completely natural), the ticks started to realize that Josh was not a man to be messed with. We were finally able to play with our pup for hours out in our yard without seeing a single bugger. Josh is a true superhero and all the other techs that assisted in treating our yard have been nothing short of committed to the mission while using their socials to educate the public about how to stay safe - we couldn’t be more grateful. We’ve now been utilizing their services for a year, and don’t plan on stopping any time soon. Met Josh and his team the other day! Always great meeting and supporting other local businesses! We are having a party today (July 4th!) and they were able to work our property in last minute so our friends and family can enjoy the yard worry free of ticks and mosquitos! Josh is very friendly! Met Josh at a local business meet-up up and he explained what OhDeer does, and it was exactly what my wife was looking for. It is early in the process but the deer treatment seems to be working well. Our technician, Josh does a great job covering the property and is super to work with answering our concerns. Finally there is hope the deer will finally leave my landscape alone.
