Purchased a package with this company. They do NOT come out when they are scheduled. You cannot get ahold of anyone. I’ve called and emailed multiple times with no answer. DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY. It’s a complete scam.

These guys used to be reliable and actually control our mosquito problem. We've used them for years and been happy. BUT something has happened! They no longer show up as scheduled. They don't respond to phone calls. And on those occasion when they have actually showed up and sprayed, it has often been ineffective. We will not be using them next season for sure

Have used this company for years. All of sudden they’ve fallen off the face of the earth. Not answering calls. Not showing up for services. It’s been three weeks since I started calling almost daily to get in touch with them. On to the next pest control service

We have used Mosquito Tek for several years and were always happy with their service. Last summer, I prepaid for all the treatments left in the season when I signed up. Fewer service visits were conducted due to weather, yet no credit was issued for the treatments that weren't completed. I have tried contacting the company a number of times to resolve this issue (multiple emails messages, voicemail messages, and the online messaging system on their website) with no response.

I signed up for the "bucket" system this spring. Buckets are supposed to be serviced every 30 days. They haven't serviced my system since June 27. They have scheduled 3 times, and never shown up. I had a technician text me and say that "his boss man keeps scheduling service, but they don't have the product in stock to service the buckets". I cancelled my service agreement, and signed up with a national company, when they came out, they found that the buckets didn't contain the "floater" the the In2Care bucket system uses. Also national chain charges $50 per bucket to set up, I have 4 buckets. But MosquitoTex charged me $480.00 for set up.

I wish I could give zero stars for their lack of service. DO NOT use this company if you want great service. The techs are lazy and only spray what they want to spray and you’ll never get in contact with their office. Sham of a company and we’ll never use them again.

I'm pretty sure these guys are no longer in business. Website no longer functions and they do not reply to calls or emails. It would have been nice if they let their existing customers know they were closing up but I do understand that may not have been possible. They seemed nice and I wish them all the best.

The Mosquito Tek Van that has all its information on the vehicle was driving at least 25-30 miles over the speed limit was weaving through vehicles like a lunatic . Is it really necessary to take other peoples lives and loved ones in jeopardy for saving 10 minutes or so ?????,?, Kill the mosquitoes not the people please just drive safely . Mosquito tek And just so you know you didn’t save any time , my friend driving stayed at speed limit and we ended up catching you by not even trying at Alexandra St and Miami BOULEVARD . Raleigh, NC SO you but lives in danger , yours included in danger for NOTHING .

Response from Mosquito Tek LLC of Raleigh, Chapel Hill, Durham

That technician will be dealt with swiftly and severely. I have just reviewed the GPS data and will deal with this personally and immediately. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. As a small, locally owned service business we put a great deal of trust in our staff to act and drive professionally when they are performing their duties on our behalf.

Best Regards,
Brendon C Cordell

They claim on their website that they will match any competitors offer and beat it by 10%. I got an offer from a well known company which was $15 cheaper than the quote from Mosquito Tek. When I called them and asked about it they said the other company wasn't a "big enough franchise" and so they would no stand by their advertised offer. I even asked them just to meet it rather than beat it and they wouldn't do it.

Response from Mosquito Tek LLC of Raleigh, Chapel Hill, Durham

Actually the claim on our website states that we will BEAT any FRANCHISE competitor's price by 10%. The offer on our website does not indicate we will meet or beat ANY competitors price. Furthermore my staff explained that TruGreen isn't a Franchise or a Mosquito Control Franchise and we would not be able to price match. They are in fact the largest turf management company in the US after their merger with Scott's. If you're going to take the time to negatively review a small, local business, owned by an individual here in Durham the least you could do is not make up claims about language our website doesn't contain. We are and have been the #1 independent company of our type in the Triangle for over a decade and your false claims as to the language on our website is taken as proof that we are not likely a good fit for you as a customer. In fact, if you'll dig a little deeper you'll see that TruGreen doesn't even offer the same service or guarantee that we do but rather a monthly service with ambiguous language about "significant population reduction" for "up to 30 days". We offer a mosquito free guarantee and have 21-day and 14-day service cycles included with our programs. I suspect, had we been willing to price match the worlds largest lawn care provider the next discussion we would have had to endure with you is why we include 10 treatments over the course of the season as opposed to our "competitor's" 7 services. TruGreen offers a 30 day service cycle - a 14 or 21 day cycle is not available from them...Why, you ask? Because a monthly service cycle fits THEIR business model and NOT the needs of their customers. If you contact any of the actual franchises I think you'll find that they all offer 21-day, and in some cases 14 day cycles for small lots and organic products. The reason for this is efficacy and performance. Good luck with a lawn care firm that is not licensed to spray under your deck or directly around and in contact with your house. Further research by you as the diligent consumer you are may also find that in order to provide services that include these critical areas of your property LEGALLY, a firm must also be licensed as Structural Pest Control providers (as we are) and not Turf and Ornamental with the "Public Health" add-on that the lawn care companies use to skirt the laws of the Structural Pest Control Division of the NCDA. I wish you luck with TruGreen, an inadequately licensed firm, offering inadequate service cycles to go along with their non-existent guarantee. Now I don't know about you, but as a homeowner myself I prefer to pay a little more for service that actually works and provides clear language about policies if it doesn't than negatively review a local, small business that doesn't bend to my wishes. As an owner, my company will not be bullied into providing service at a net loss in the name of honoring a random claim about non-existent language on our website. Good on ya though...way to support small businesses, shop local and support the local economy. I'm sure everyone at their corporate headquarters in Tennessee will appreciate the economic stimulus to that state that your business provides. And I'm sure your business will be personally appreciated by the owner of TruGreen - Oh wait thats right, it's a CEO and a bunch of wealthy investors that spun that company off from Service Master prior to going public. I'm sure their kids all attend school here in the Triangle and I'm certain that company returns 85% of every dollar back into the local community in some way, shape or form. And I'm sure it'll be $53 well spent...especially by the 12-13th day after they "treat" your lawn fpr mosquitoes.

Again Kudos to you for levying false claims against a small business - clearly you were wronged by our unwillingness to honor made up language. Enjoy your experience with TruGreen, you'll soon discover you get what you pay for. BTW, they have 8, 1-star reviews in >year from actual clients, good luck!

Updating to add how amazingly accommodating and wonderful the staff is. When our schedules changed to working nights, they bent over backwards to find times that worked for us. Mosquito Tek gave me back my yard and deck. It's amazing to be able to actually sit outside comfortably without coating myself in bug spray and without pollinating insects being affected. They're worth every penny, especially with their service guarantee.

Super responsive: customer service quickly reschedules if needed, tech checks in before spraying and focuses where you ask them. Also appreciate often getting the same tech. And I’m someone who always gets eaten by mosquitos, I really appreciated that I can be in my yard, deck, and front porch without a bite.

Rob is a great technician. Always knocks on the door to check in before starting. He wants to know how things have been going with the pest problems and if I've noticed anything so he can decide the best next steps. That's great to know that he approaches his visits strategically. Not just coming in to complete a service. Rob is awesome.

We've had two other pest control companies visit us doing door to door sales last year...looking to replace our current vendor (Mosquito Tek) and each time we've turned them away. The primary reason has been the stellar experience we continue to have with the Mosquito Tek team. Sure, the market has plenty of competitive vendors... but this is a service and the customer experience is equally as valuable as the product itself. Carlos and other reps’ visits each month further solidified that decision to stick with your team. They are always extremely courteous, professional, detail oriented, and go out of their way to hear our concerns, help educate us, and made us feel confident and comfortable with the plans to address our latest pest issues. I'm not sure if they do special customer service training (beyond just the technical training) as part of their onboarding or are simply hiring stellar staff... but whatever it is, keep it up! Thank you so much to everyone on the team for coming out and doing so in a manner that's always above and beyond.

My yard was sprayed this morning by Mosquito Tek without my permission - I do not have any mosquito issues, so their treatment just killed the pollinators that visit our landscaping. Highly unprofessional.

Response from Mosquito Tek LLC of Raleigh, Chapel Hill, Durham

I think we may have made an error when arriving at the property and our technician mistakenly identified your address as the service address. The good news is that our services do not automatically mean that pollinators were killed or that they'll be negatively impacted by our service. The products and procedures used while spraying are designed to minimize impact to any non-target organisms including pollinators and beneficial insects. This was a case of human error which could happen to anyone and not representative of the professionalism of our local, independent small business. As such, we are not in the business of providing services that are not requested by the property owner or tenant and obviously do not seek to provide services that are not billable. Our sincerest apologies for the mistake.
