Clegg’s and especially our technician, Jamar, have taken wonderful care of our home and family for years. Love the company, have been using it for the 30 years. Always dependable and professional, no matter who comes at the house and the people who do answer the phone are great too. They also installed a plastic barrier and insulation and a dehumidifier in the crawl space and it has done wonders for us. Thanks to them.

He was on time, explained all the potentials areas of entry for bugs, informed me about my options moving forward regarding future treatments, and even cleaned out a draw with bug droppings for me. Clegg's was great! We suspected a termite problem and asked them to come out for an inspection. Inspector came out and confirmed the termites. Did a thorough check of our foundation, explained everything we should do to make the treatment as effective as possible, literally drew out how the treatment would be applied, and quoted the work. On the day of the treatment, a team of five were here most of the day applying the treatments, putting down a new vapor barrier, sealing our crawlspace, and installing a dehumidifier. Not cheap, but for the extensive work they did, very reasonable, and I am very comfortable we're not going to have to worry about termites again for a long time!

Jamar is my hero! We had a rat who was impossible to kill and Jamar was passionate and knowledgeable about the problem and how to solve it. He came out three times in two weeks and gave us lots of helpful instruction to keep Us and our kids safe. all the other companies just came over and game me long sales pitches about sealing the crawl space and other expensive measures that had nothing to do with the problem. The folks at Clegg listened to the problem and didn’t try to sell me a bunch of other junk.

Signed up for services only to find a few months later that I was enrolled in the wrong service for our pest issue. Found the office staff to be disorganized and lacking professionalism when I brought the error to their attention. Becky from the Durham office states that she is the customer service manager, but sent me a curt email regarding my situation, said someone would reach out and then refused to respond to me. Probably okay pest control if you never run into an issue, but if you do good luck.

I would like to apologize that we did not communicate clearly that the price you were quoted initially of $49 was only for mosquito control which is focused on vegetation/shrubs. Chiggers are quoted separately because it is a yard treatment. I have brought this to the attention of my Corporate Administrator so that she can address with our customer service team. Thank you for bringing the error to our attention.
Very disappointed in the damage done to our cement areas around our property. Was promised the holes would be patched nicely and would be small enough to not be noticeable. Well, that’s not the case. Holes were patched sloppily and the material used is already cracking. Looks terrible so I contacted the company about it but they are not willing to do anything to fix the issue. It’s always good to remember the person you meet to give you the quote is not the person doing the work and to not pay until after the job is complete. Fixing the cement area is going to cost us $2500.

I have provided a copy of your review to our termite supervisor and branch manager and asked that they reach out regarding the concerns and disappointment you have shared in hopes that a resolution can be reached.
I have never dealt with a company who is extremely agressive in collecting immediate payment. It borders on harrassment I have always paid my bills and have used Clegg's before. They now want pre-payment which I normally do not do for services. So they performed the work and before they even sent me the invoice they must have called 5 times asking for payment. I asked for the final invoice and they sent one and must have called me another 5 times in the next 24 hours . I am done with them. Additionally, they are not cheap. I will not use them again.

We have updated some of our payment policies and for initial services we do required payment prior or at the time of service. I apologize that was not communicated more effectively and I will address that with our customer service staff and billing team.
The guy that always came to my house to check my humidifier would ring my doorbell. My dogs would lose their minds. I would tell him after the service to just leave but he would come. Bd ring my doorbell again afterwards and again my dogs would go insane (while on work calls this was very annoying/disruptive to me). Then when he came last time and did not close my gate and my dogs got out. I discontinued the service. I am sure it is just this one guy but I could not stand it anymore.

I had an individual come to my home to start pest control services. However, did not complete the job and I was still charged. Upon calling the billing department, I was told a manager would reach out… No one has even after multiple attempts to reach back out to them. Very unprofessional.

No Diana at this number. I continue getting incorrect robo calls for appointments I have not requested. First two times I called to complain and to make sure the appointment was canceled. The 3rd time, which was for a Nov 6th appointment, I disregarded because Cleggs responded the first two times they showed no appointments scheduled for me. Now I am receiving a request for a review for service I have not received. Very frustrating!

I’ve use Cleggs the past 3 years, and this year I’m not sure what happened. I felt like they were constantly canceling and not spraying like they should. The years before, never had a issue , I could enjoy my yard all summer long, this year, I could not , every time we would go outside, we were like a buffet for the mosquitoes. I’m honestly not even sure if they sprayed the back yard because it was 10x time worst than the front yard. May have to switch services next year

After your mom dies, the last thing a grieving daughter wants is handling a call the day after from a debt collector asking her to pay the loved one’s debt. But when it’s not just any debt collector but a company that has immersed themselves in over 5 decades of my family and my mom’s life, it resonates much differently. I recently traveled and arrived in Durham NC the day after my mom passed in July 2023. In an effort to have the yard mowed before other family arrived, I was told that Cleggs Pest Control had recently came to spray the yard but did not come inside as my mom was so sick. I attempted to get to the bottom of it all after being handed a bill for $80.00 and being told no one came inside because my mom was under home hospice care. Unfortunately she passed before they ever returned. I didn’t realize in my own grief and frenzy to take care of numerous pressing tasks staring down on me —a funeral, an obituary, family members coming, her personal affects, her affairs, a eulogy, burial etc that Cleggs would be my first order of business. I was told I should call them and I did - I was recorded without my knowledge (standard practice) and my conversation was one of trying to figure out what the situation was. It was explained and after listening to some of their explanation and being under the stress of the bigger issues at hand, I told them the bill would be taken care of and we hung up. During these last few weeks, I have received multiple calls from Cleggs for their $80.00 even after mailing them a letter asking for this debt forgiveness, attaching the death certificate and explaining the fact that there was no estate. Based on what I felt was the integrity of this company, it was my assumption that after my mom paying them over $17,000.00 over a 50 year span— that they would certainly forgive this small amount. Rather than forgive it, they went back to listen to the conversation from the day after my mother passed and upon review they have decided that they wish to have the $80.00 since I said “the debt will be paid or I’ll take care of it.” I truly do not even remember most of the 3 weeks I was in Durham engaged with my mom’s funeral, much less this $80.00 conversation. However, she was kind enough to play it back for me. I have none other than sad words to describe how this has made me feel. I was in the third grade when Mr. Clegg was just beginning his business in Durham and he signed my parents up for monthly service which was 7.00 per month. Over the many years, the service techs were always nice and one of Mr. Cleggs’ requirements at that time was that his employees treated customers like they would want to be treated and that they maintain an attitude of Christianity. In all those years, my mom never missed one monthly payment to Mr. Clegg. My husband actually said he felt sure Cleggs would send flowers to her funeral because she was most likely their longest standing customer. Understandably, things change over the years and new people take over. The finale to the relationship with this company has been extremely hurtful and unnecessary. Not something the original founder would be proud of I am almost certain. I have paid this $80.00 in full to Cleggs at the writing of this review and I hope that they will be able to make their payroll with it next week. It certainly seemed like there was a great desperation and effort put forth in listening to phone conversation tapes to collect it. For me, it is not about the $80.00 and it shouldn’t be for them, either. It’s a very emotional kick in the stomach, and feelings of being bullied into getting that last little bit of money. An ending to what could have been handled so much differently. Businesses used to stand for more than collecting money. They used to genuinely care. Perhaps some still do; however, I would not wish this experience on anyone with the history and longevity we had with Clegg’s services. Unfortunately And sadly, I will always remember it.

First I would like to say how very sorry we are for the loss of your mom. We truly appreciate the years she remained a loyal customer to Clegg's Pest Control. I have been working at Clegg's for over 25 years and my own mom worked for Clegg's for 10 of those years before retiring a few years back with Dementia/Alzheimers. My mom also has been a Clegg's customer for a very long time, since 1982. We understand there are so many emotions happening and things that have to be taken care of when a loved one passes. We do very much appreciate you taking care of the balance owed. I will speak to our Billing Manager about providing a longer window of time for these moments before reaching out so that the family has time to grieve in addition to getting things in order. We consider our customers part of the Clegg's family and we always want them to feel that way.
Not very happy with the service I recieved from Clegg's. The person that sold be the $200 service went on and on about all that the technician will do in the "2 hour" appointment. My House inside and out was to be expected including the crawl space. I told them on the phone not to send a big person due to the small crawlspace. She laughed and said that would not be a problem. Their techs are used to this sort of thing. The tech was there 40 minutes and never even removed either crawlspace access door. 😒 so basically I might have termites or some other infestation under there. Very disappointing!!

Scheduled in August to have bats removed. After 2 appointments and 2 months, the issue has not been resolved. I agreed to cancel my pest service with a competitor in exchange for a slight discount on the bat removal plus moving my pest service to Clegg's. The bats have not been removed, there were multiple scheduling issues where I had to keep following up and today I am told they cannot do it at all because it's too high up. This could have been determined on day 1 instead of wasting 2 months, I could have had another service resolve this issue. After 2 months of b/s, the right thing would have been for Clegg's to figure out how to get this done.
