I started using Lawnstarter for my small condo building yard because the price was low. And you get what you pay for. In the last 6 months of regular mowing, I’ve had over 10 different pros assigned to me. This is because pretty much none of them actually did the job well (very uneven mowing, no edging, etc) and when I put that in the app, I get a new pro. Invariably, they no-show on a scheduled day or keep rescheduling so my biweekly mow gets drawn out to just once a month and I end up getting assigned yet another pro. When I tried to talk to lawnstarter they just connect me with some AI bot and then ask me for good reviews. I would not use Lawnstarter again.

Don't waste your time! I signed up for the Lawn Starter service in Arlington two weeks ago. The first "pro" they assigned me cancelled the service because it rained on the scheduled day and then bailed out on being my assigned person. So, I had to spend about 30 minutes in chat to get assigned someone else and get back on the schedule. It rained again. Not his fault, but by default, if they don't get to you on your scheduled day, they just put it off until the next week. New "Pro" shows up, takes some photos and sends me an email demanding 5 times the originally quoted price (It went from $55 to $246). I was expecting to pay more because the grass was higher, but not that much more! The real icing on the cake was the photos of Monkey grass as proof of the tall grass. I'm sorry, but if you don't know better than to not mow Monkey grass, you're definitely not a professional. So, I get to spend another 40 minutes on chat to cancel the service entirely. Some people may have a great experience with Lawn Starter, but I seriously think you're just rolling the dice as to getting someone knowledgable and dependable. Horrible customer support. I’ve called 4times today, spoke to two different people they transferred me twice. Got left on hold for over 15 min each time in a line with no music no message saying you are still helping others. No way to get out of it to leave message. The other times I called I was not able to get anyone in line at all just a air after you click an option. I’ve tried multiple options etc. I tried to purchase additional lawn care for a friend who was using your service who is dealing with a very ill child and cannot take care of lawn. You lost their business

Use this company if you want to hire a company to cut your grass but end up doing it yourself. Terrible reliability - no shows - endless excuses - I hired them for the 2022 cutting season after 1 cut they kept cancelling as my grass grew longer. I terminated service and just did it myself. Gave them a second chance this year 2023 - again 1 cut and 4 excuses and pushed off two weeks. Im terminating service permanently. This company is all talk and show with their app but the absolute worst in customer service. AVOID - there are many other options.

Sketchy, sketchy company. I called for a quote then decided I didn't like their stipulations or price so told the person no thank you, I'll hold off and we ended the call on a nice note. I then posted on Nextdoor asking if neighbors had recommendations for lawn service. A few minutes later I received a text from an unknown number (Google showed no results associated, not even lawnstarter) and it was worded as if it was a random person, not a company. "Hey, I saw you were looking for mowing at (my address)?" I freaked out a little bit not knowing if someone from Nextdoor found my address and number or if lawnstarter gave my number out. I ignored it because it's obviously creepy to have an unknown number text you your address and not even represent themselves as a business. Then two hours later I received a message saying they could lower my service by $30 for the first mow with a lawnstarter link attached. I might have given in and scheduled if they'd texted with their info and said it was a newcomer deal or something but the fact that they tried to trick me into responding to an unknown number just made it so uncomfortable and made them seem really dishonest. This convinced me to just do it myself. For the cost of two lawn mowings I can buy a lawnmower myself and not have to worry about locked gates, my dogs, or having strangers at my house.

SCAM!!!GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!!!Not only have I cancelled, but also this app they ask you to download is telling me someone mowed my lawn and charged me for it when nobody showed up. This is unacceptable, and should not be a legit business. CROOKS

The most dishonest and unreliable company I ever encountered. My husband called last week and sign in as new customer. The crew supposed to come on Mon or Tue (Carlos Alba from CA Lawnservices). Nobody came, I got a message that says "No parking available. I have a very long trailer not enough space". I couldn't believe it because we have a HUGE private driveway and a 48 foot truck delivered our furniture when we moved. So I think Carlos trailer is longer than 48 foot. A new team was dispatched: Brandon Escobar for Wed- Thu. Surprise: never came, never replied to my messages. I called at their office and the lady who answered was nice, but NOT HELPFUL at all. She had no idea about the time/ date/ team. A few hours ago I'm getting a message that Brandon had an unexpected problem and I my NEW crew is conducted by Terrence Hawkins. Meanwhile the grass in my yard is 15 inch long and it's the most messy yard in the neighborhood. Do yourself a service and get a reliable company.

LawnStarter was a non-starter. I was leaving for a business trip and wanted to get the lawn mowed before I left. I made my first appt with them and they promised to send a crew to my house to get it done by the time I was to leave. Without telling me, they cancelled my appt and rescheduled for the following week when I would be gone. I had to call them to find this out. Not only that, I would have to pay a lot more for the mow because the grass would have grown beyond 6 inches. This is my first experience with LawnStarter and they have proved to be unreliable. They wasted my time. Update: Now, finally, after 11 months they respond. Seriously?

I recently started using lawnstarter, and at first i had no complaints until they switched my lawn mowing company. The new company came out and blew some debri and cracked my window. I completed the property damage report by the app but it has been over a week and no one has gotten intouch with me about replacement or reimbursement of my window. Im truly displeased with the service i have received thus far from them.

I made the huge mistake of trusting the reviews of LawnStarter and giving them a chance. The crew that came to my house was supposed to remove a bush from the backyard. Despite my careful instructions they got rid of the wrong bush (in fact, they removed a small tree instead) and then refused to take responsibility. As if that weren't enough they charged me for services they didn't even perform and I'm currently trying to dispute those charges through my credit card company. This is insane! I've never encountered worse customer service.
