We signed a seasonal pre-paid contract with them. We were unhappy with their services. We did not see any improvement in our yard and it actually looked worse. We obviously chose to look into other companies. They showed up the next season and provided a weed and seed treatment and sent me a bill. I called and told them I wasn’t paying for something we didn’t ask for and weren’t happy with, and they told me that they would send me to collections if I didn’t pay. There are much better landscaping companies in the area who actually provide a good service and don’t try to trick you! Although, I understand why they would need to do this based on the results we saw from their services last year.

Lawn Doctor recommended a complete re-seeding of our yard and we decided to move forward. Months later, the grass grew back in patchy (leaving divets and empty spots throughout the entire yard) and it looked and felt worse than before the re-seeding. Needelless to say, I was frustrated. However, after an assessment, I will state that Lawn Doctor cares about their customers and delivering quality as they are rectifying my yard and making things right. 3 stars as the re-seeding process is long and emotional; and results are not immediate. (In my case, it took 3-6 months before I could even realize the yard needs more assistance which results in additional unwanted frustration).

Cost out-of-proportion to work/time: Fact= Fertilizer + Soil Enrichment + Mole Control. The technician was on-site for 9 MINUTES (1:21 pm-1:30 pm). Total Invoice charge=$277. After previous service (same items and cost), I emailed the office about my concern regarding the cost, given the tech's time on site (15 minutes that visit). Even allowing for overhead and travel time, the hourly charge is still outrageous. I was told it was standard practice, and that it was how they kept customer costs down. I never heard from the owner. The only reason I didn't give 1 star is because the treatments are good and the office manager is excellent.

We are doing our job properly and you have said your lawn looks good; these are the services we have been providing for years and that you signed up for. All of the glowing reports must be for a different lawn doctor company than the one we get. Granted, we have a somewhat odd shaped yard, but in all the years we have used them they have never figured it out. I have pleaded with them on numerous occasions to take 30 seconds and get a map off the auditor's website and they have completely blown off my requests. The result it that we seldom get 100% coverage of lawn chemicals, which we are paying for. I have gotten so tired of calling to have them come back out and finish their shoddy work that I seldom call if it isn't a huge area of our lawn that they missed. Last week they missed a huge area again, but have they taken my advice and gotten a map to send with their tech? I seriously doubt it. In addition we were fed the excuse that the tech was new - it should be their responsibility to train their staff and maybe not send them out right away on a more challenging job. My advice is to go elsewhere unless you have a perfectly square well-defined yard. Definitely NOT RECOMMENDED.

Scott<br><br>Update: I met with our technician and Mr. Little to discuss the situation. It turns out that the technician used a push spreader instead of a stand-on unit and Mr. Little did not see the push spreader tracks, though they were there. The push spreader does not leave as noticeable of lines. We completed the work in full on the initial visit. We refunded Mr. Little the entire year's prepayment. I asked him to consider removing this review as we completed the work. He refused despite our company doing our work properly and professionally. His initial argument is his review was based on us not doing an area of his lawn but we did do this and were disappointed he would not remove or, at least, revise his review.

Had Lawn Doctor for 2 years. The 1st year we had no problems and they were very attentive to our lawn. The 2nd year (current) was a huge disappointment. Our yard had numerous issues with crabgrass, weeds, etc...Also a fence which makes the back yard accessible, was broken by a Lawn Doctor employee and was never fixed after repeated requests and conversations between the Lawn Doctor leadership stating that it would be fixed. It took over 6 months-(from May to November) for them to tell me that it couldn't be fixed but that they would complete an aeration to "make up" the fence not being fixed. The aeration was never done as well. We will be finding another lawn service.

Rudy, in my message to you today, I stated we would pay for the fence repair and do your aeration as well at no cost. Last year was very, very wet and many lawns were too wet to aerate as was the case with yours. Aerators are very heavy and can cause significant damage to a lawn that is saturated.
