Very thorough in checking for any and all points where a critter could access the house. The tech explained everything in detail as they went too. Definitely would recommend them for all issues with outside critters!

Thank you Phyllis!
It turns out that I had a community of squirrels living in my detached garage. Tyler came by and looked over the area and told me his plan. I looked over the traps and the vent covers that would be used. Tyler was professional and explained the process. I'm pleased with the results. It was like I was running a motel for squirrels! By the way, I had hired another pest company prior to bringing in Critter Control, so now I know how a good company operates. Thanks

Thank you, Jenna!
Response time was excellent. Critter Control immediately took action on the first visit without it just being a 'consultation'. They made multiple trips without increasing the agreed upon price and resolved the issue. The couple of times I called the home office, a person picked up every time. I would definitely work with Critter Control again.

Waste of $500+. DO NOT HIRE!! They left traps in my yard for 3 weeks. Never changed tactics when it didn't work. At the final visit the worker filled in the hole to make it seem as though the groundhog was caught, when it clearly was still living in my yard. There was no response from the office after several messages were left asking why the traps were removed when the vermin was still obviously present.

Hi Monica, we tried to reach you earlier and left a message. Please give our office a call at 614.291.4400. Thank you!
Not very knowledgeable, too expensive, I called in another company for a third of the price, did a more thorough inspection and applied the inspection cost to the total job.
Response from Critter Control of Columbus
Hello Martha, we provide our service quotes over the phone during
scheduling, and we do not proceed with a visit unless the quote is
authorized. During the inspection, our technician conducted a comprehensive
assessment of the home, including taking multiple photos and providing
recommendations for entry point repairs. The technician also offered a
discounted rate for the mole program. This program is valid for one year, so
if you notice any activity during this period, please contact our office to
report damage. The only charge will be for each mole removed. Thank you, and
have a wonderful day.
I am usually a positive person but my experience with critter control was not a positive one, very poor communication.and overpriced. The tech who did the initial assessment for a squirrel problem never checked the attic only the outside, did catch 2 squirrels though, recommended repair of corners. One day after they removed the cage, found a hole in bedroom ceiling, heard scratching,I called another company who checked the attic and found 2 squirrels who had built nests and had torn out mesh barrier in peak.I feel the initial assessment was not thoroughly done.I can not recommend the Columbus,Ohio office.
Response from Critter Control of Columbus
Thank you for sharing your concerns. Our trapping is all done on the outside of the property, and traps are placed on the roof closest to the entry point. During the trapping, we did provide a quote for our repairs. Please feel free to call our office to discuss this further. Thank you.
Critter Control of Columbus representative inspected my attic for over $300. He said that I had many bats and gave me a quote for about $1800. There were no pictures provided to me of my attic to back this up. He did not physically see any bats. I could tell the rep wasn't sure. I called the office expressing my concern that the inspector wasn't sure. After two weeks, they sent another person to come out unannounced and look externally at my house. He said that it was definitely bats. He found bat droppings at the point of entry. I called another company and decided to get a second opinion. Their inspection was $150. They fixed the problem on the spot for $200. The grand total was $350. The took many pictures for and explained exactly how they inspected the attic. They said that I had maybe one seasonal bat and several seasonal mice. They closed the point of entry. Their work in guaranteed for one year. I would not recommend Critter Control of Columbus.
Response from Critter Control of Columbus
Hello Molly, the price for the inspection was quoted at the time of scheduling. This fee is disclosed to a prospective customer before they commit to our arrival. Upon arrival, the price is then agreed to in writing. We completed the inspection onsite and billed according to our contract. Our inspection revealed multiple bat droppings inside, and outside the home. With bats, they are protected and would need to be evicted from the home. Since the inspection took place in the winter, they are currently hibernating, and we do not always see the bats in the attic, but we do see the droppings. Since they are hibernating, evictions will not be completed until springtime, and the weather warms up. Bats only need a 1/4inch gap to enter, if we only sealed up one area, they would find other gaps to enter. Quoted on the bat eviction was for all gaps 1/4inch or larger and a bat valve. Our operations manager did come back out and re-inspected the home that same day you called into the office. Thank you and have a good day.
Very disappointed in the service we received. We were charged an exorbitant fee off $299 for an "inspection" that was never mentioned for setting up traps. I have paid home inspections for that price with detailed reports. Fine if that is the cost of an inspection, give me my money's worth and have a report but there is no report. No transparency in the costs associated and even if that is the cost, what a ripoff. Edit For Customer Transparency: That cost of $299 "inspection" does not include the cost of setting up traps. Setting up traps are an additional $79 for inside and additional $40 for each outside trap. So a grand total of $575 (does not include additional cost to come back out).

Hello, I have located the account under your wife's name, and all documents were sent to her email. Our pricing is given during the phone call to schedule. When we were onsite, the service agreement, interior and exterior bait stations were signed for (authorized) by Mrs. The technician provided an Animal Entry Worksheet, that was also sent to Mrs. during the inspection. No services were rendered, without verbal and written authorization. Thank you and have a great day.
I was shamed because I am Afroamerican, Senior Citizen and Handicapped. I did agreed to pay for services which included an inspection, cage to catch the critters if I did have a critter and take it away from my attic for an extra $30. I was told upon inspection, there was a hole where the vent had blown away and the critter had crawled into my attic. The attic was cked and there was no sign of any activity. The cage was installed on the roof. I, then was given recommendations that I needed more work coming to a total of $684. I refused because I had already paid $322.45 on 9/28/2023 I asked if I could buy one of the vents that they were charging $477. I was told to wait until the critter was caught. I had a handyman to measure and purchased the vent for me. He discovered that I had no hole, there was a screen already installed so no animal could enter the attic. He stated that were evidence that squirrels had climbed the tree from next door onto my house and all I needed was to buy the vent that costed $81.01 and cut the tree down and he charged me $100 for parts and labor. Totally $181.01. There was a big hole by my front yard whereas a critter had dug. I called Critter Control and asked if I had to pay another $322.45? They replied, no charge for the cage but $90 plus tax for each trapped critter to be taken away. I was extremely upset. I told them to come get the cage that my handyman had taken down and I was going to report them to the BBB. They came and got the cage. I want a refund for them lying to me about their service with I didn’t need

Hello Shirley, our team strives to provide excellent customer service,
regardless of their background. Upon reviewing of your account, the initial
call for service was on 9/25/23 with hearing noises in the attic and was
given the quote for our services. The job was scheduled for 9/27/23, and the
inspection revealed raccoon droppings on the roof, and the roof turbine was
missing. The technician onsite, advised this is something we cannot install.
It would require a contractor and he did send a list of preventative repairs
that could have been done to help with animals getting inside your home. A
trap was placed on the roof, tape was put on the area the turbine was
missing, (to monitor for activity). Regardless of if the animal was not
getting in your home via that entry point, we still needed to monitor and
make sure they were not accessing any entry site(s) before we could pull the
traps and recommend getting it fixed. On Friday 9/29/23, the technician
wired open the trap on the roof since we do not check the traps on the
weekend. On Monday 10/2/23, when the technician came out to reset the trap,
he noticed the vent was repaired, and the trap was removed. This is not
something we recommended doing, since we were still monitoring for activity.
I believe there is some confusion with our pricing, the service call is
$299.95 plus tax, and each animal removed is $99. We did provide a list of
recommendations for preventative repairs, and advised a contractor would be
needed to repair the roof turbine. The only charge on your account is the
service call of $299.95 plus tax, for the inspection & monitoring of entry
point. Thank you have a great day.
Traps set for skunks 3 times. Never trapped a skunk. Skunks still spraying on east side of home nightly. Didn’t get much for our money! Would not recommend. Mary Ann Reed

Sorry for the delay in response, there was an error in our system and did not see your review. This has since then been corrected. Thank you for submitting a review. I'm sorry to hear you're not satisfied with our services. Upon reviewing the account, we did trap for 6 days, and during this time there was no skunk activity. We did catch and release, 1 raccoon and 1 opossum per your request. If you are seeing activity in the next 2 weeks, we will be happy to come out for grace trapping, and only charging for skunk removal ($99) each if caught. Call our office @ 614.291.4400 if you would like to schedule this.
Paid $300 for ground hog control. Over a month, I saw the ground hog many times. The company used apples and marshmallows only and wouldn't change bait to target the ground hog. (i.e. dandelions, clover, lettuce, peanut butter, ...). They wouldn't work with me. All they caught was raccoons (marshmallows) and possums. Even to the last day, they were using marshmallows, which ground hogs don't eat. All the service personal would say is this works for us. I also asked to shut the traps at night to avoid catching nocturnal animals and they told me this was stop my service.
Response from Critter Control of Columbus
Thank you for your feedback. We understand it can be frustrating not having the animals caught you hired us for. Our services include up to 10 days of trapping under the service call, and we cannot guarantee removal since we are dealing with wildlife. We trapped 23 days for you, and caught many other animals, raccoons and opossums, that you did not want us to remove so they were released back onto the property. Apples are used for our baiting, and we are very successful with catching groundhogs with this bait, if there is an active burrow. Unfortunately, you did not have an active burrow and it can make it more difficult to trap for groundhogs. Thank you again. Have a great day.
My experience was horrible! I did not get what I thought I was contracting for. I needed your company’s service to remove a critter from my attic, determine how the critters were getting in, and eliminate the entry point. What I got were multiple squirrels trapped OUTSIDE the house, a list of 11 things that could be done to my house, and charges to my credit card of nearly $650. As far as I know, a squirrel is still in the attic, and how it got in remains open and unfixed. When I was told there would be an inspection and assessment of the problem, I thought someone would call me afterwards to discuss what they found and advise me on the best way to proceed to resolve the problem. No one has ever called and explained anything. When I called to ask when someone would contact me, I was told that list of 11 things I was sent on December 6 was the explanation. I was so confused because the assessment was not completed until December 14. The list had one service alone costing $656, and I had no idea if that service would fix my problem. I was given no explanations, I only received multiple charges to my credit card. Now the “assessment” is over, and I am in the exact place I was when I called your company to fix the problem. This has been a total waste of money. The problem is unresolved. I still need a company to come out and fix whatever problem I have that is allowing squirrels to get into my attic. This feels very close to a scam.
Response from Critter Control of Columbus
Thank you for your feedback. During our trapping session, we did remove a total of 5 squirrels and the inspection report (Animal Entry Worksheet) was sent on 12.6.22. This document has all the recommendations for repairs to help animals not re-enter the home, these repairs are an additional cost. We price out preventative repairs as well as the entry point. At this time, you can choose what repairs you would like completed. Until the area is sealed/repaired other animals can get inside. Our traps are placed on the outside of the home, closest to the entry point to catch them as they are leaving looking for food/water sources. This allows us to catch only the ones that are going in and out of the entry point. If you sign off on the entry point repair, we can go back out and trap and only charge for the repair and squirrel removal. The repairs would not be completed until the entry point is inactive. Thank you.
I had some bird nest in my attic and another vent that was located on the side of my house. THE BIRDS WERE NO LONGER HERE. The technician was was able to manually remove each nest while on the outside of the dwelling and I had 3 vent covers installed. I'm very disappointed in the amount that I was charged for the services. My total bill was $590, and I do not recommend this company because they are too pricey for the work performed. Also they charged $79 for each vent cover. Had I known that I could have gone to Lowe's and gotten the for less than $10 a piece. When I called the office to discuss the final bill, the only answer that I got was that's just what we charge, especially when asking about the vent covers. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY AT ALL, UNLESS YOU DON'T MIND GETTING RIPPED OFF.
Response from Critter Control of Columbus
It's interesting when we have a customer complain that we ripped them off, because I can clearly see that you signed for the repairs, and authorized the charges you describe. That is not being ripped off when we took the time to provide the quotes in writing and you approved them. That's called buyer's remorse. We did not fail to be an honest company. We oftentimes have customers attempt to discredit us online, but thankfully, we keep our signed contracts and quotes for these very reasons. Have a good day.
