We had a great experience with Michael at Cridder Ridder! He was professional, knowledgeable, and very easy to work with. He responded quickly and handled our critter issue efficiently, which gave us a lot of peace of mind. Michael clearly knows what he’s doing and took the time to make sure everything was taken care of properly. If you’re dealing with any kind of critter problem, I would highly recommend using Cridder Ridder!

Competent folks but even as a repeat customer they gave me an outrageous bid that was 2x the priciest competitor after making me pay for the quote. Likely overcharging so shop around.

Everything was super professional no hard sell. They have us multiple options and then fixed the place where the squirrels were gaining access. I think it is Ryan our tech explored the attic showed photos determined they were not currently living there just using it as access. Then fixed it on the spot. Asked every step of the way if we were happy with the decisions. As always cheaper than letting them do more damage. This is second time we have needed their help over the years. I highly recommend Cridder Ridders.

I hire this company and they come with tiny small cage trying to catch raccoon took them a couple of weeks did not catch anything and they want to charge $600 for no result so it was very bad decision to hire these people

Response from Cridder Ridder

I apologize that you don't thin that we did our job. However, this call was about birds in the attic not raccoons. We repaired 2 of the gable screens to take care of your issue AFTER you approved the charges. Please reach out to us if this is not correct.

I was impressed by Matt's knowledge and experience. We thought bats made it into the attic, but found out they were roosting on the exterior vent and didn't make it into the house. I'm happy with the work done and his willingness to answer my questions along the way.

Response from Cridder Ridder

Thank you for sharing your experience working with Matt. We appreciate you Haumana!

I recently sold my home "as is" as agreed-upon by ourselves and the new homeowner. The home inspector noticed possible indication of bats due to bat guano. We had Critter Ridder out for an inspection ($200) and Michael told me that he saw bats inside of the attic and quoted us $2,275.00 for extraction and repair. I made mention to him that we had sold the home in its present condition and that we would be removing any live animals, but roof repairs are not part of the contract. After a few days waiting on requested photos, I received photos of roof repair repairs only and one photo of exterior bat guano. I pressed for further clarification and was told that the technician had seen guano, not the bats themselves so the assumption is that there are active bats. This was contradictory to what I was told at the time of the inspection. I had a second bat removal company come out that conducted a full roof and attic inspection. I was told there is no evidence of active bats and the guano outside on the roof is not recent. The second company advised that the only action recommended is roof repair, and there are no live bats to remove. See attached photo of the conversation with Critter Ridder. The correspondence is unprofessional and I definitely question the ethics of this company.

Response from Cridder Ridder

Hello Kelly,

We’re sorry to hear about your dissatisfaction and appreciate the opportunity to clarify. Our technician’s inspection and notes indicated signs consistent with active bat activity. In accordance with our policies and ethical standards, we cannot in good conscience perform a bat extraction that we know is going to fail and will leave the home vulnerable to continued wildlife activity.

We understand your situation with the home sale, but our responsibility is to provide services that are effective and reliable for both current and future occupants. While we respect your decision to seek a second opinion, our findings and recommendations were made in good faith based on the evidence observed at the time of inspection.

We value transparency and professionalism, and we regret if our communication came across otherwise. We’ll be reviewing this experience internally to ensure our explanations are always clear and consistent.
This company is in business to make money first and foremost, and the hell with the customer. I’ve had their service for about a year, paying 90 dollars a month, 250 dollars for inspection. They came out, trapped a couple of rats, placed bait boxes, and that was it. They MISSED eight or so rat nests on the side of my house, which I found myself, and they wanted to bill me another $1000 to remove. Because they missed the rat traps, the rats destroyed a $2000 gas grill. They don’t do quality work; they just do the minimum required work.

Response from Cridder Ridder

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that your experience did not meet expectations, and we’d like to take a moment to clarify a few points.
First, we truly value our customers and take great pride in our customer service. While we are a business that charges for our services, we strive to offer both competitive pricing and exceptional service to every customer.
As part of our standard inspection process, we conducted an assessment of the situation, placed traps, and successfully caught two rats. We also installed five rodent bait stations along the sides of your home. Our technician mentioned that you preferred not to have bait stations placed in the backyard due to concerns about your dog. Although the bait stations are tamper-resistant, we respected your request and limited placement to the sides of the property. Unfortunately, this meant that the backyard — where the grill is located — was not as well protected.
We’d also like to clarify that the cost for checking and refilling the bait stations is not $90 per month, but $79 plus tax every other month.
Your home is located approximately 20 feet from a wooded area. While rodent activity is common in such locations, our bait stations are designed to help reduce this activity and protect your home as effectively as possible.
Regarding the nests that were later discovered, you informed us that they were found after you removed some bushes. Once the nests were identified, we attempted to assist, though there was some uncertainty about whether they were actually on your property.
We provided a quote of $950 for the removal of the nests. This quote included labor for two technicians, rental of a trailer or truck with a large bed, removal and disposal of the nests, and for the potential risk of rodent bites or injuries to our staff. While we believe this was a fair price for what was involved, you chose not to proceed.
Although we were unable to reach a final resolution in this case, we are confident that our team made every reasonable effort to assist. We’re sorry that the outcome was not more satisfying and sincerely hope you’re able to find a provider who can meet your needs moving forward.

I gave them two stars for being courteous. As far as services rendered… I paid $100 for someone to tell me they cannot do anything to help, basically. Suggested things to do but offered no real service. Another company actually quoted me a price online and was not available until next week. Should have saved my $100 for a company that wanted to actually make money. Pretty disappointed

Response from Cridder Ridder

Hi Jon, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. While we’re glad to hear you found our technician courteous, we’re truly sorry to learn that your experience with our service did not meet your expectations.
We understand how frustrating it must have been to pay for a visit without receiving a clear resolution. Our goal is always to provide value during every appointment, even in difficult situations where the source of an issue such as an odor from a deceased animal may not be immediately accessible or identifiable. That said, it’s clear we fell short in delivering the level of service you were expecting, and for that, we sincerely apologize.
Your input helps us improve, and we would appreciate the chance to speak with you directly to see if there’s anything we can do to make things right. Please feel free to reach out to our office at your convenience.
Thank you again for your feedback we genuinely value your business and hope to have the opportunity to restore your confidence in us.
Best regards,
Cridder Ridder

We had bats in our attic. I googled for what to do about it and came across the Cridder Ridder website. The online reviews are positive so I contacted them through their website. They called me back the following day and were very pleasant and we went through the process very quickly and efficiently. A Cridder Ridder technician came out and inspected the Attic and roof. He said we have 11 soffits on our roof that need to be repaired. I assumed by “repaired” that there was construction or carpentry work involved in repairing soffits. My misunderstanding. So Cridder Ridder’s charge for the inspection was $200. I thought that was a little high, but ok. We then talked about what he saw. The inspection experience took about 30 minutes. He was very professional and sounded confident in what needed to happen, so I was ok with paying the $200 inspection fee. I also wondered if that $200 went toward having the work done, if we decided to use their services, but it did not. There was some miscommunication about the repair work. In the end, Missy from their office contacted me and we had a discussion about it to clear things up. She was very pleasant and I'm glad she reached out to discuss it with me. So, did Cridder Ridder know what needed to be done and how to get the bats out? Absolutely. Did Cridder Ridder do what they said they would do? Sort of. They got rid of the bats. I am very appreciative and thankful for that. They ended up not doing the repairs the way they were originally explained, and they still billed for the original quote instead of the repair work that was actually done. But Missy called me after the fact and we worked through that. Are Cridder Ridder's prices reasonable? I would say their prices are high based on the time they actually spent working on this job for us. But they did get rid of the bats, and at the end of the day, that was what counted. Would I use them again? Yes. Tempered with a better understanding of the work being done and what I'm being charged for.

Response from Cridder Ridder

Thank you for your review. I want to clarify a few things though. The initial inspection was done by Michael. He was the same technician to come back to do the repairs and set the bat door up, along with another technician, since Michael needed help for safety sake. Michael and Matt were at your house for and hour and a half (8:49am - 10:08am), not 19 minutes.
On the 11 soffit repairs, Michael tried to install sheet metal to keep the bats out. However, the tiles of your roof were such that he couldn't get the metal to stay in place. Instead he sealed the gaps with silicone caulking, which will do the same job to keep the bats out. He should have told you that he wasn't able to repair with metal, and for that we apologize. We discussed this in our weekly meeting and hopefully it won't happen again. We appreciate your business and we are sorry for the miscommunication.
