The second spray did not do anything to the yellow jackets. Their hive is inside the concrete bricks, the house. I’m gonna go to Menards and get some Sevendust and coat the entrances so they kill the hive.

Provider response

Hello Jamie,

I can see how disappointing it would be to still have yellow jacket activity after a follow-up treatment, especially when the nest appears to be located within the structure itself. We've documented your concern and will be collaborating with the local team to review the situation and the effectiveness of the treatment provided. We also have a follow-up email being sent to help monitor the case and gather any additional information needed. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention and would like the opportunity to continue working toward a resolution.

- Joshua D.

Had a sales guy named Tyron or Tyrell, whatever his name was stop by (skinny around 5’10”). He’s pushy, belittling, and rude when you say you’re not interested. Looking at the reviews, the company doesn’t seem to care how their sales interact with people. He’s probably a reflection of the company.

Provider response

Hello Road Trip,

Being approached by a salesperson who comes across as pushy, dismissive, or rude is understandably frustrating, especially when you've already indicated you're not interested. Sales conduct concerns are something we address directly, and we'd like to learn more about this interaction. Please email customerfeedback@theshieldco.com with the city and state, the approximate date and time of the visit, and the representative's name if you have it so we can look into the specifics. If you'd prefer not to receive future visits, include your address and we can add it to our Do Not Contact list.

- Joshua D.

Thank you for the services I accepted on Wednesday--the explanation and work was very good. Luis Ramirez did an exceptional job exterminating the bugs, wasps, spiders, etc. He was cordial, polite, and knowledgeable. I appreciate the work that was done. ps--the name on this post should be Linda Nelson, not Mark Johnson

EcoShield seriously needs to hire more professional salespeople instead of sending people around on a two wheel scooter going door to door soliciting. Tyrell came up to me and started asking if I knew the person down the street and telling me they were doing service for them and other people in the area. He then proceeded to pull out a map showing other homes they supposedly service. The funny part? He hadn’t even told me what company he worked for or what service he was trying to sell. Why would I even consider doing business with you when you can’t answer the most basic question: Who are you and what are you selling? Only reason why I knew the name of the company was the logo. Eventually, he tells me they get rid of voles and other rodents. I told him I handle my own pest control. He then asks if I use Home Defense from the big-box stores. I told him no I use professional-grade products containing bifenthrin concentrate for my insecticide applications. At that point, he apparently got offended, turned around, and walked away like I had wasted his time. Let me make something very clear: I have a NO SOLICITING sign. If you ignore it, walk up to me, interrupt my day, and waste my time trying to sell me something I never asked for, don’t get offended when I’m not interested. If EcoShield wants to do business in the neighborhood, maybe start by hiring people who know how to professionally introduce themselves, clearly explain who they work for, explain what they’re selling, and most importantly, respect a homeowner’s NO SOLICITING sign. Don’t waste my time and then act like I wasted yours.

Provider response

Hello Jay,

We can understand why that interaction left a negative impression, especially if you felt the conversation was unclear and your no soliciting sign was not respected. Sales conduct concerns are something we address directly, and we'd like to look into the specifics of what occurred. Please reach us at customerfeedback@theshieldco.com with the city, approximate date and time of the interaction, and any additional details you may have so we can review the situation further. If you'd prefer not to be contacted again, you can also provide your address and we'll review that request.

- Joshua D.

Jair did a very good job serving our house outside. He took time to answer all of our questions and concerns. He not only treated our spider touch up issue, he discovered a wasp issue and treated that issue too. He was very professional, and we look forward to our treatment

TLDR: Overseas outsourced phone support is absolutely worthless. "Guaranteed" service is not so. Local techs and reps are good for basic work. Their exterior traps made a difference in the number of mice and insects we found in our house. We also hired them for bat abatement in our attic, a service that was guaranteed. They failed spectacularly. They were unsuccessful removing bats the first time around. Abatement was guaranteed, so I phoned them at least ten times, texted several more, and could never get anyone to return our calls. You see, they've outsourced their phone support overseas, and the people working the phones can't seem to do anything. They can't look at schedules or tell you when someone will follow up. When I finally cancelled our service via their web portal, they phoned to ask why. Guess who called? Their overseas phone service! The person told me they could not remove the bats from our attic because they're a protected species. They sure didn't have a tough time taking thousands of dollars from me to fail at doing just that! We've hired a different local firm to take care of what Ecoshield could not. If Ecoshield dumps their overseas phone answering service, they might stand a chance with me, but this was one of the most frustrating experiences I've ever had working with a company.

Provider response

Hello Joe,

I can see why this experience was so frustrating, especially when you felt you weren't getting the follow-up and communication you needed. We've documented your feedback, reviewed the account, and can see that you were able to speak with our Customer Care team regarding your concerns. It appears the matters brought to our attention have already been addressed, but we understand the experience still left a lasting impression. If there's anything further you'd like to discuss, please reach out through the contact information previously provided.

- Joshua D.

Charlie was very personable and truly seemed to care that I was satisfied with his service. He asked multiple times about areas he could treat, confirmed the issues I’d mentioned in my reply to scheduling the appointment (ant mound/spiders), and he asked about rodents. Very thorough, professional, and tolerant of my questions!

Got a sale person came up to us about the pest and offering the a nice deal and stuff but after we were asking for the phone number because we want to think about it, he got offended and telling us it’s not about the deal told us we just couldn’t afford it.

Provider response

Hello Mary,

Being told something like that after asking for time to think it over would feel frustrating and disrespectful. Sales conversations should remain professional, regardless of whether someone chooses to move forward. We'd like to learn more about this interaction. Please email customerfeedback@theshieldco.com with the city, state, approximate date and time of the visit, and the representative's name if you have it. If you'd prefer not to be contacted again, include your address and we'll review that request directly.

- Joshua D.
