Top Notch Turf and Pest

Today we had a terrible experience with TNT. The technician was incredibly rude as well as the district manager. There are many other companies we could give our business to and service our yard. We had a great experience previously with Leslie and David. I was completely appalled to hear how my husband was spoken to as we have never had this issue before. The only reason we will continue to give our business to TNT is because of David’s great customer service and Leslie. This lack of customer service and unprofessionalism we dealt with today almost caused us to end our business relationship with TNT.

Updated 4/17/2025: TNT did contact me within 24 hours of my post and wanted to address the concerns I posted. They did acknowledge my concerns and addressed them within 48 hours. I am adjusting my rating from 2 stars to 4 stars based upon how they handled the situation. Still waiting to see how the yard responds in time, but for now I'm pleased. I started using TNT last fall. I still have lots of weeds, the nutgrass in the drainage ditch they treated twice has not changed and they have not fertilized my yard at the end of March. My yard looks less green than the neighbors. For 400/month, I would have expected more.

UPDATE: Virgil with TNT contacted me today and went out and put eyes on my yard. He has come up with a game plan to get rid of not only the Virginia button weed but all the weeds in my yard. Making the effort to contact me and make things right, goes a long long way in my book. So I have decided to give them a chance to "get rid of all my weeds" as Virgil has stated; and because they reached out, I am also upping the stars from 2 to 3. Once I see how the new game plan goes, I'll post a new update and hopefully increase the star position. SIDE NOTE: I also learned that it was not the weed application that almost destroyed my lemon tree, but some kind of bug. Thank you for pointing that out to us Virgil, I have removed that info. from my original post. I have been using TNT lawn services for a few years, and although they started out great, things have gone down hill. I have been battling Virginia button weed in my yard for 2-3 years, never did the tech report this issue, I had to point it out every year. They come and spray and nothing happens to the weeds. They come back out to re-apply and still nothing happens. The last time they were coming I told them that whatever they are using isn't working. I was told they are using new chemicals, so again nothing happened. Button weed still going strong. We get a different tech every time, even though I have repeatedly asked for David. They not only went up in prices but also the number of applications are now 9 in a year instead of 6. 9 that does nothing to kill the weeds. I do have to say that the fertilizer is good. My lawn is a pretty green, but so are the weeds. So this has been our last year. I'll be looking for a new provider.

Had them come out to treat house. Called back out for an infestation of red wasp. They tried to sell me an additional service instead of doing the job right the first time. ***UPDATE - called another company after being told there was nothing further that could be done. That company did the trick, have not seen a live wasp in 2 days

On April this year they serviced us on Round 3 for Bermuda program. The service report sent to my email said they did a full treatment with complete fertilizer and sprayed for weeds. However, my cameras recorded video of tech only spot spraying for weeds (never pulled the spreader from the truck to apply fertilizer). I asked for a discount on that round since they did not use part of the products I am paying for. Denied. Tech did not realized I had torpedo grass weed (did not even informed on the service report). I had to send them pictures of it and ask for a service call. They came with a "special herbicide" (never told me what it was nor informed on the report which chemical(s) were being applied to my lawn). They overapplied and burned various spots in my front and back yards. Even told me that if I wanted specific treatments for torpedo that they would charge $25 per visit going forward. Really? See the pictures attached. I am already paying $55 per round. Moreover, today they came to do a Super Aeration, what a joke!. Left particles of fertilizer on my driveway and patio and many dirty spots. Organic fertilizer looks and smells like Milorganite (not specified on the service report what it is besides 05-05-00). They were supposed to treat with Gypsum too but I am not sure if they did - I don't see any traces of it on the ground. Decided to fire them today and cancel service because to me the trust was broken and they seem to be cutting costs via chemicals (this was my my impression).

Just don’t do it!! Can’t recommend this company! The team is lazy and my yard actually looked better before using them and when I was doing it myself. I installed brand new turf in the backyard and immediately hired TNT to take care of my yard. I ended up with weeds galore and getting the team to eradicate them was like pulling teeth. I have bald spots where all the weeds used to be. Every now and then you’ll get a good technician but most of them are rude and lazy. I honestly think I should receive a refund at this point.

We used TNT for 3 years at least. In the Spring our lawn was looking miserable, a large area of dead grass. They came out and said our lawn needed aerated and new topsoil recommended. We aerated outselves added top soil to areas they recommended. The brown continued to spread, they continued to come and do their quarterly spraying. We decided to get a second opinion. They quickly identified a huge infestation of chinch bugs and at this point our entire front lawn has been destroyed. Far from a “top notch” turf and PEST experience.

Updated review: Jordan came after this issue occurred and did everything in his power to make things right which is all anybody could ask for. Jordan is very respectful and offered a ton of helpful advice when I advised him I wasn’t interested in the service. I called to speak to someone over the phone regarding questions about potential services. I was asked about my address, which I thought was just to confirm I was in their service area. The sales guy called as he was on the way to my home and when there was no answer he welcomed himself to open a closed gate and walk around my yard without consent, appointment, or invitation. The unprofessionalism was extremely irritating. When I called and asked the sales guy to remove all of my information and to never contact or come to my home again I was sent a text message immediately. It is unfortunate this happened as this company was referred highly by multiple neighbors and I was very interested in working with them.
