New update 7/08/2026 Trugreen completely damaged my lawn for the second time last year, this year I was expecting some answers and corrective actions and nothing happened, they even came at the beginning of the year for a treatment that I did not authorize and they completed anyway against my will, I called them and I told them that I want to completely cancel any services, I decided to care for my lawn myself with the help of AI and I’m having great results with high quality products, “Johnathan green” products are the best and I can see results, the type of results I never had with professionals like trugreen, today July 8, 2026 I received a text message from trugreen notifying me of a visit for a treatment, again treatment I did not authorize and a few months earlier I canceled all type of services, so I called early in the morning:7:20 am to explain the situation and customer service assured me that the treatment was cancelled and any other future treatments were also cancelled so I was satisfied with customer service again until today July 8,2026 at 2:30pm where I saw on my cameras a trugreen person doing treatment on my lawn that I just did a treatment two weeks ago, they will destroy my lawn again for the third time and no matter how many times I call the and cancel they keep showing up and there is no one around to stop them from completing their low quality work, I came in tonight and there is a lot of granular fertilizer all over my sidewalk, at this point after so many attempts to stop them from entering my property, I have phone records and camera footage to request some type of police restraining to legally stop them from entering my property, all I want is for trugreen to stay away from my lawn and to stop treating my lawn with cheap low quality products, I am very happy with Jonathan green products, they are a little pricey but totally worth every penny. I will post pictures of my phone call today and the visit, if anyone is looking at this company for lawn services please take the time to read all the reviews, there is good reason why this company has very low ratings, even the headquarters have a 1.8 stars, just think about it, if the headquarters where there are all the executives located have very poor ratings what can you expect from your local branch. QUICK UPDATE 9/13/24. I just wanted to add that corporate reached out to me and they are really trying to make it right for me, customer service its amazing and they really go above and beyond to help you during these stressed situation. I still need to see if the "experts" will fix my lawn and bring it back to life but customer service is the best of the best. ***5 STAR REVIEW FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE*** my lawn was average looking before requesting services from trugreen but I wanted to get to the next level and have a thick perfect green lawn that's why I decided to call "the experts" and after three years of having experts working on my lawn now I don't even have an average lawn where my children can play, before I dreamed with a lawn where my children where able to play barefoot but now I probably need steel toe shoes to step in my ugly lawn, I was very patient and understanding because after the first season of trugreen working on my lawn and not noticing any positive changes I thought "well lets wait until next year to start seeing improvements" but next year arrived and my lawn kept declining by the experts services. attached is pictures of my before and after. the before pictures are the ones where you can see green (cared by me) the completely dead lawn pictures is the work of three years performed by the experts. if you noticed the employee even puts the signage on the lawn which its kind of embarrassed that my neighbors see that I hired someone to come and kill my lawn and on top of that I have to pay for it. my lawn is the worst in the block and I am the only one paying TruGreen for their services performed by "the experts"

There is no structured pricing. They charge what they want. They DO not look at your address via satellite. I called the 800 number (call center I guess) and they gave me a price based on satellite images. They sent me email confirm right away. I spoke to my neighbor who also started with them. They quoted him $300 less than me, even though his yard and shrubs are 3 times bigger than me. I called back and the rep said they didn’t properly review my property. The rep quoted me a lower price based upon visits I actually need. She scheduled the first visit and said I would get an email confirm immediately. Spent almost 2 hours on phone. Never got the email and called back. The rep told me that I will be paying original price. She saw I spoke to a rep earlier but did not see details and cannot listen to recorded conversation. I asked for a manager which she tried not to connect me with. The manager gave me a 3rd price which was not relevant to the amount of visits I need. I have a small lawn to be paying almost $1000 This is not a real company with transparent pricing and reliable customer service.

I do not do business with this company. They somehow obtained my email address and have harassed me for weeks. I get numerous emails daily even after my reports of spam to Google. Never would I do business with these guys!

These guys wont stop spamming my inbox. Worst company ever.

Maybe the worst spammer on the internet. I don't have a lawn, never contacted them, and don't want their service. So why do I get daily emails from what appears to be their affiliate marketing campaign? No matter how many of the senders I block they just keep coming. Just leave me alone, TruGreen. Now here comes the polite bot response....

Had weeds all summer. Promised after promise Paid for whole season Aeration dine improperly promised to rectify never did. 1 treatment service guy sat in his truck the whole time then placed a card on a stick stuck it in my yard saying service complete. What a JOKE OF A COMPANY!! DO NOT USE THIS LAWN SERVICE!

The only thing that went smoothly was the sales process. My yard is in a worse condition than before using their services. Their cancellation process is a pain. Their treatments did not prevent weeds nor did they spray the entire yard.

I’m going to edit this: Since my review things have continued to decline. They serviced my neighbors lawn, not mine. But I was charged. They came out to resolve things, never touched the back. Came back, re-did things. Two days later came again which can harm my lawn. This company lacks communication, structure & organization. Some of the people are very nice. Too many hands in the pot and there is either no follow through or an incorrect one. Each - and - every - time. What I really want to say is so mean, I just won’t write it. This experience has been nothing short of pitiful. My experience w this company is similar to the other bad reviews. They make false promises to sell. Do not follow up or follow through. The do the absolute bare minimum when treating your lawn. If they do it, at all. I have been charged when they didn’t even come out. Issue after issue. They have few employees who go the extra mile to resolve, send employees out who don’t care or lie and said they were there, and weren’t. I couldn’t express how bad this company is in words. It’s impossible. They take your money, lie, over promise and do not deliver. No idea how they’re still in business. Absolutely pathetic.

No stars would be accurate at this point. We have a commercial account which we have had for years. But, they have failed us this year. We have lost thousands of dollars in sod because they can't control the chinch bugs. Just look at the video of the infestations that they claim was treated three weeks ago. These bugs are happier than ever! Can't get anyone to answer the phone at headquarters and our local office is useless. Meanwhile, our 22 acres is being eaten alive!

Weeds in my back yard are as bad as ever. I've called the branch office before & they said they'd take care of it. Never got better. Spoke with several technicians when they came out & walked them around the back yard & showed them all the weeds. Nothing has ever improved. Tech came at 7am this am & left their bill in the mail. Called them this afternoon when I got home & spoke with a Lexi, in Indiana. I requested a supervisor to come out but she said she couldn't do that...asked for corporate info & she refused. I requested to speak with her Supervisor & again she refused. I ended up hanging up on her because all she ever offered was a free re-service! After I hung up my husband called back & terminated all services! Tomorrow at 0730 a Supervisor with Alabama Lawns...actually, he's the owner, to assess our lawn & we plan to sign a contract with them. Never again will I ever do business with TruGreen or recommend them to anybody!! When a company becomes so arrogant that they can't respond to a simple request from a customer that they have had in excess of 10 yrs+, it is time to move on. And on a personal note...Lexi, I found your Corporate info on my own and I will be calling them tomorrow with a request for them to listen to the phone call between us. Lets see what they think about the customer service you provided.

Very poor communication. I canceled their service and disputed their charge to my credit card. They harassed me with their phone calls and told me that they refunded me twice. I spoke to their staff, Kelly Poole who told me that it was not a double refund. Complained them to BBB and FTC. Another staff called me today and insisted that they refunded me twice. I will never deal with this kind of company again.

They’ve been charging me for weed control in my backyard, but the weeds are still growing all over the yard. I need to cancel the service. Scam, collecting money I have closed the account for good.

Scam artists. They offer full yard service. But unless you sit there and watch them, they treat your yard in less than 10 minutes. After 5 treatments my yard is no better than it was before treatments (imagine that when they do a quick spray and leave). I cancelled so I could get resolution and not pay for another service before I got resolution. They refused a refund and would only offer a free full spray if I agreed to a new service plan. Why would I do that when they quickly come and leave and I get no results?

Price doubled year 2 with no notification. Hard up sales after ever service. Hard upsale during cancellation request. Ignored my request for no upsales/solicitations repeatedly. Then calls me again today, to try and resale me on an over priced service. Hard pass because of customer service alone. Ohio location.

TruGreen is a disaster! I hired them for lawn care, hoping for a lush, green yard, but instead, they turned my lawn into a patchy mess. The weeds are out of control—more than I ever noticed before! Their so-called "expertise" did nothing but ruin my grass. Spare yourself the headache and don't waste your money on this company. Save your lawn and your sanity—look elsewhere!

I was told even though weeds are robust and flourishing that they don't have a guarantee , that they couldn't reservice for 4 months because of local ordinances and that i couldn't be transferred to a supervisor and I couldn't get a refund

This company has the worst marketing practices. I receive a spam email from them 3x a week, unsubscribe, keep getting the emails and I live 1,000 miles away. What of waste of time. Whoever leads their marketing team really does a poor job of maintaining a clean list.

**Terrible Experience with Trugreen – Highly Disappointed!** I highly advise **staying away** from Trugreen. My experience has been nothing short of frustrating, misleading, and downright dishonest. First off, I was signed up for their **TruPro** plan but instead was given the **TruCore** plan without my knowledge. I had explicitly agreed to a certain service and pricing in an email, including a preseason payment, with the expectation of a **"price match"** with a local competitor. Turns out, they gave me a **lower-tier service** than promised, and then upcharged me on the **per-visit charges**. If I had stayed with them, I would have ended up paying **more than what I prepaid**. To make things worse, they tried to schedule **chemical treatments** on **rainy days**, which is completely ineffective and a waste of my time. I also signed up for their **shrub care plan**, which, honestly, you can easily do yourself for **1/3 of the price** they charge. It gets worse—Trugreen customer service is a nightmare. I’ve had to talk to **multiple reps**, and it seems like there’s a serious disconnect between the local office and corporate. Every time I emailed them my contract (with the services and prices promised), I was told, “Oh, we never received anything,” and was passed around until they could push **more services** on me before I could cancel. The **local managers** and **regional managers** were completely unresponsive, no matter how many times I reached out. They keep giving me the runaround, hoping I’d just give up. In the end, my lawn still hasn’t improved after **4 treatments**, and I thankfully got **half of my preseason payment back** before they could continue charging me. This is a company that thrives on **shady business practices**. I strongly recommend avoiding them at all costs—do not prepay for services. You’ll only regret it. **Extremely disappointed and dissatisfied**. -Danbury, CT office is my local trugreen office, stay away.

Hi Trugreen. Can we do something about my backyard that is full of weeds. I’ve been with Trugreen for over 20 years and year after year, the service is getting worst. Trugreen technicians come regularly to treat the yard then send the bill for their services, but no improvement.

THE WORST OF THE WORST. Stay away. HUGE sections of my lawn in FL lay bare with only dead roots showing. Each treatment slip they leave in the door says "treated your lawn with insect control..." Supervisors never call back, people who cannot even speak English answer the phones, and nothing is done except that I keep receiving bills every month. STAY AWAY. A word to the wise is sufficient.

I have never done business with them but the spam me every day from a different email address. Anytime someone brings up subject of lawn care the first thing out of my mouth is don't use trugreen

DO NOT CALL THIS COMPANY Unfortunately, I called to get an estimate for my lawn, which was too expensive. However, now I get several phone calls from different sales representatives each day trying to sign me up for the service. If you don’t want your phone blown up with spam phone calls from true green do not call this company

I only wish there were negative stars. Absolutely horrible results, zero resolution, and terrible customer service. I have never left a poor review in my life until I had the True Green experience.

I was recently signed up for a eight treatment service. The initial treatment was performed on my neighbors lawn. I immediately contacted customer services. Afterwards, assuming everything was taken care of, I continued to have issues and this all stemmed from the fact that a friend that recommended TruGreen also set up their treatment plan the same day. Our emails,phone#,names, addresses, and credit cards were all interchanged. It has taken me approximately 3 weeks to get this issue resolved. If it had not been home during the second attempted to treat my lawn, they treament specialist , would have treated my nieghbors lawn again.

I had service with Trugreen for a few years and this year I have decided to add mosquito service. Although there were some issues with the lawn and musquito service I am very tolerant and took care of the deficiencies myself. The issue is that mid 2024 that have decided to add another house to my account that I have never had service there and started to charge me for that house service. One time they have sent the musquito service to perfom service at the other house and that's when I noticed the issue (they provide like a real time tracking of their service person traveling to the property). So I called Trugreen and explained that this is not my property and they should not provide "my service" at that address. After more than an hour on the phone with the reps they told me that I am wrong and I do not know what I am talking about. Of course they sent invoice to me for that service and now they are treatening to move to collection. In teh last 3 months they have also called about 3 times a day and I explained - at the begining that it is not a service that was provided to me. They alkso called me at the same frequency ( 3 times a night) while I was in Japan for the previous month. There is no one cpable in Trugreen to talk with and I recommend to avoid getting into any business with them. It will save you a lot of grief. Be warned.

Very elegant receiving lobby and secure

I prepaid for service in Aug 2024. Called the next day to cancel due to a change of mind and still have not received a refund in Oct 2024. They have stolen my money and I would not recommend TruGreen to anyone.
