James Brooks is the most fabulous technician ever!! I had several companies out for estimates and he was by far the most knowledgeable and thorough. He tackled a massive rat infestation in my beloved Portland Craftsman home in SE. He was extremely knowledgeable and fearless about all sorts of pests but especially rats, both Norwegian and roof rats which are rampant here. He was not afraid to explore all the nooks and crannies of crawl spaces and knew intuitively where they would enter and nest. He covered my house from the attic to the basement and outside as well and sealed everything that could be sealed. Highly recommend!!! Ten stars!!

Summit has been the only company I trust with pest management duties around my house. Whenever an uninvited guest (or guests) decide to drop by, Summit is always quick to respond and all the technicians (Justin is the latest) are always personable and give great explanations as to why the critters are showing up and the best approach to dealing with them. Highly recommend these guys! Honest and reliable!

Crowing about honesty and a five year guarantee on your website doesn’t make it so. Less than a month after paying $625 and entrances that were supposedly repaired I heard sounds of animals in my attic. I was informed I would owe yet another $150 for another inspection and more yet again for repairs. The attitude of the technician whose work was in question was very haughty, patronizing, and unprofessional. This was the same person who left a rat living under my sofa for a month saying it would somehow leave my home when bait boxes were placed outside. It didn’t. Maybe the first inspection was not so thorough??

This review was left with malicious intent, as Mrs. Ryan obstructed our work and hindered our ability to do our job effectively. Dear Mr. Seashore,<br><br>I am so sorry that you feel our customer service was not up to par. We pride ourselves on always providing excellent customer service. Unfortunately, we made the difficult decision to let you go as a customer because we had animals dying in traps. The traps were not being checked as the technician had instructed. You then chose to not pay your bill for work already completed. Standard procedure, when a bill is not paid, is a process of notification. If the bill remains unpaid, it is picked up by our collection company.
Pest tech was very efficient. Large nest , sprayed and no action since.

We are so happy to hear that you were happy with our work. While moving furniture is not part of our service, we try to be helpful to customers whenever possible. Matt said that you were not present when he completed the service and he was not comfortable moving the bookcase without you being present. We will continue to strive to always give the best service possible.
Our experience with Summit was NOT good. The initial treatment to abate a rat infestation was unsuccessful for which we paid far too much based on quotes from their competitors. They were rude and condescending when we expressed our concerns. Obviously, we do not recommend this company.

Due to technical issues, it seems like our previous response has been removed from Google:<br>Dear Connie,<br>The technician was very clear that you live in a community of condos with shared wall space. He explained that the most we could offer was ongoing maintenance, to help keep the rodent population at a minimum (this is because rodents travel through walls and we were not treating adjacent units). You accused us of trying to rip you off when we were clear as to what we were doing. You also signed a contract that explained everything clearly and demanded a refund after only giving our products 3 days to do their job (you were told it would take two weeks to see a marked decrease in activity). We explained everything to you again, you said you understood, and we agreed to continue our relationship. You also stated that the company you got the lower bid from was going to actually be more expensive in the long run. We then received a very hostile letter again accusing us of “pitching you for anything we could get out of you”. We had to be firm with you and we are sorry if you felt we were condescending, that was not our intention. We wish you only the best.
Hard to find their physical location but we were happy with their services
My experience with Summit has been incredibly disappointing. Despite, having nice staff, I've been completely overcharged for a service that was never delivered. I have had a rodent problem and first called Summit in the fall of 2018. I was charged $500 for two appointments to seal my house and set bait traps. I was told that there was evidence of rodents, but none had taken the bait. After discovering that the problem continued I scheduled another appointment and assumed they would remedy the issue free of charge since I already paid $500. I was told that the company does not guarantee their work and that they would need another couple of visits and an additional $350. I've now paid a total of $850. I called again and they told me it probably wasn't rodents, despite the fact that we've all seen droppings and have heard rodent sounds (chewing and moving in the walls). They're now telling me that it will take more money to fix the problem and that it might be "house sounds". Ridiculous. I feel completely duped by this company and wish I hadn't wasted so much money on a service they didn't deliver on.

We originally treated for rodents in November of 2018 and we did a two week follow up (protocol for rodents). At that time, the technician closed up areas that could be closed. He explained that with your home being over 100 years old and that poorly constructed, non-permitted additions were added, we would not be able to guarantee that rodents would not find<br>their way back in. He highly recommended a maintenance program for rodents but you declined this service. You called us again this year when you had activity knowing full well that we would not guarantee due to the conditions of your home. The technician went over pricing, before he started work, and you approved of the costs. He reiterated the need to be<br>on a maintenance plan. We cannot be held responsible for rodents (that can find their way into a hole the size of a quarter) when poor construction is in play.
Jake was very rude and condescending to my family. Would not recommend

My husband and I now have a big problem in our home because of Summit Pest Management! Trying to help with the problem of rodents in the house, they left poison for rats in the house, without sealing gaps, then, after eating the poison, the rats crawled into the insulation and died. Now our house smells horrible and we have to pay a lot of money to get rid of the dead rats and fix other problems caused by Summit Pest Management. Summit Pest Management has caused great stress in our home. We call then to ask to tell them about the problem and they refused to fix the problem they caused! They want us to pay them to fix they problem they cause! So ridiculous! We do not trust them, of course. After the amount of stress that has caused us. I give them zero points!!!!

Once we had the<br>population under control, he explained they would need to address the exclusion that<br>needed to be done (items out of our expertise) to keep the rodents out and that the crawl<br>space needed to be cleaned out. He told them that the vapor barrier and insulation needed<br>to be replaced and the crawl space sanitized. Once the technician explained this to the<br>homeowner, we treated for rats and it was up to the homeowner to hire contractors for the<br>rest.<br>We are a company that will go out of our way to help a customer, or potential customer,<br>and would have been happy to assist either of you if not for your disposition during your<br>initial call. Our customer service representative was shocked and saddened by the way<br>you conducted yourself. You were rude, belligerent and threatening lawsuits before he<br>had a chance to explain what services we had performed.<br>Summit Pest Management cannot control what happens during the sale of a home. Buyers<br>should hire a certified home inspector to inform them of any current issues before the sale<br>is complete. This way issues can be addressed with the homeowner and proper<br>contractors and a sound decision can be made on closing the sale.
Summit was hired to fix a minor rodent issue. What they ended up doing was leaving a ton of bait which the rats ate and then crawled into the insulation and died. They did not seal off the crawl space as they were hired to do, which drew in more rats which also died in the insulation. Now a small problem that could have been fixed for a few hundred dollars will cost around $6,000 to fix and they refuse to fix the problem they created. DO NOT HIRE SUMMIT!
