HELP!!! Over a week ago, I received a knock on the door from a man who said he worked for Capital Pest Services. I told him I hadn’t ordered any service, but he claimed that the previous homeowners had already paid for it — which was strange since we bought the house over eight months ago. Against my better judgment, I allowed him to service the property. Then he said he needed to come inside to “finish up,” and that’s when things got weird. Luckily, I was on FaceTime with my sister. Once he entered the house, he became very rude when she asked why he had a screwdriver instead of pest control equipment. I immediately told him to leave. I’m so glad I called my sister, because I’m still not sure if he actually works for the company. I gave him my email for the service report but never received anything. I may need to contact the police to report this incident, in case anything happens to my home or family. I’ve attached his photo to this review for safety reasons.

This could have all been cleared up if you would have just called us the day of the service instead of waiting over a week to post such an unwarranted negative review. The service Seth was there for was a termite inspection. This service does not require any chemical application. Also the house you live in is a basement. Because of this construction type an interior inspection of the foundation walls has to be performed. This all came to be because the original homeowners paid for the termite warranty renewal and scheduled the inspection. They never notified us that the home was sold so we had no way of notifying you as the new homeowner of the necessary service that needed to be performed. Per the law of our state regulation the inspection has to be performed within the year of payment so that is what we were there for. If you had such concerns you should have not let him in and called the number in big blue letters on the company shirt that he wears and our management team could have explained things very clearly to you. I can assure you there is no need to call the cops. The only thing you need to worry about happening to your home is termite damage, not anything related to any of our employees here at Capital Pest.

I would never recommend this company for pest extermination. I have used them twice for as needed service. Both times problem never resolved. I call back and you’d expect them to come out to resolve the issue. When they do come out, they come out with a handheld can that you can buy at a grocery store. What a rip off! I have also been using them for annual termite inspections. I’ll be looking elsewhere. Stay away from this place.

Would not recommend. We have used Capital Pest Services for 5 years after moving to Chapel Hill, as the builder of our home use them for the termite inspection. We purchased an extensive plan, as we have young kids, and wanted to have the yard treated for red ants and bugs so they could enjoy the yard. Unfortunately, despite complaints for over 2 years, our children get absolutely destroyed by bug bites in our yard. When we again brought this up, we were told that we should take our children to dermatology for an evaluation.

Pest Control is not an exact science and it is impossible to completely eliminate the possibility of insect infestation in a yard. That is why we offer programs that allow for no-cost retreatments in case different types of applications need to be performed. We were always willing to come back and retreat to try and mitigate your problem. However, unlike yourselves we are not in the medical field and do not have the authority or the ability to properly identify bug bites. That is why it was recommended to take them to the dermatologist in order to try and determine exactly what type of bites they are.

I’ve had two treatments from Capital Pest. The first full treatment I received was before I moved in to ensure a thorough treatment. After noticing a handful of small bugs, I asked for a spot treatment. The technician showed up with a can of raid and didn’t even spray the full house, just a couple rooms. I’m still noticing those little bugs, now even more frequently and I’ve had roaches in the house. These roaches aren’t dead/dying either, which would at least make me feel like the treatment was working. Very frustrating.

Insects of all types have the ability to persist through multiple treatments. That is why we cover retreatments at no additional costs. If you were still having issues we could have sent a manager out to look at the situation with you...and we don't use cans of Raid

First of all I want to apologize for complaining about your services and you are right you guys charge me $275 for initial visit first time and twice for $95 for each visit. But all those charges for What? Ok I understand that it takes time for the treatment and all that But I have never seen a company who come out and do the service and see no improvements at all. But you guys came out 2 times (3x including initial visits) and in 2 full months. But having said that, don’t try to come up with threats you are giving my business right now for giving you ours opinion and for canceling the service with you. And hope you don’t do it to other local businesses or public for their opinions about your business. We are giving you our thoughts and opinions on how you did the jobs in our establishment. My opinion with you was “Worst Pest services I have ever had”. Whatever treatment you did here, it did not work. All you did was take the money and your treatment did not work at all in our establishments. That’s why I said what I had to say. I wouldn’t recommend you to anyone else and to Avoid you from our experiences. Because the Public and the business establishments has right to know how your services was, do, and offer. Anyway, I have a lot to say in here but this is it for now. BTW, Don’t try to throw your angers towards your customers instead learn from the mistakes. We sure did.

Please share what is accurate about your situation. First of all, we only charged you $95 2 times each one for that given monthly service. Your $275 charge was for a SEVERE roach infestation. Our service technician specifically explained to you that it would take more than one cleanout service to completely solve the problem because your infestation was so severe. The date of your initial service we again suggested you would need another service for this specific pest problem. You responded "NO" because you didn't want to spend any more money at the time. Significant roach activity was still noted at both of your monthly visits...these visits are GENERAL PEST and do not address German roach infestations. You were again suggested another cleanout service at both of these appointments and told us you did not want to spend the money. We followed up again on 12/9 to see if you were ready for the additional roach cleanout and you scheduled and then cancelled because you didn't want to spend the money. If you would like, I am happy to explain how German Roach infestations work, why your restaurant has them, and why multiple treatments are necessary in order to eliminate the infestation. Also, we are happy to write a review letting your customers know the name of your establishment so they can think twice about eating and drinking at a place that has such a terrible roach problem and isn't willing to fix it.

I am sorry to have to post such a negative review, but Capital Pest Services, Inc has earned it. We have been residential customers for several years, and have just renewed our annual service agreement. I called three days ago to report an insect invasion in some of our casement windows. i requested to have someone visit and visually inspect the invasion to determine a proper treatment approach. The woman who answered the phone said the service manager was not available, but that he would return my call. After four hours, I called again, and she said the manager said "They could lay some bait traps, and it would cost $150, with no guarantee of success." I again requested a visit, and was told the service manager was out but would return my call later that day or evening. I have heard nothing. So, I have contacted a competitor, who is sending out someone to evaluate and recommend (in person not on the phone) and the evaluation is free. I will be requesting a refund of my $145 annual service fee (good luck on that) and will not do business with this company again. One would think a contract customer would get better treatment.

It is my understanding that you were calling about grasshoppers which are not covered under a termite agreement. Our service manager was out in the field doing quality control all day on that which you were communicating with the office so that is why he did not receive the note about your issue. In relation, there is no "guarantee of success" for any pest treatments made. We will continue to come back until a problem is solved but it is not wise to make guarantees against nature. It has been the goal of our company to provide the highest quality in customer service for almost 40 Years in the RTP area now. I apologize if there was miscommunication in this instance but please remember your annual service fee is for the termite protection on your home and does not relate to any other types of insects.<br><br>CPS

Had an appointment to treat house between 2-3 was told he would call on the way so I could leave work and meet him. I work 6 minutes from home. I get there after my mom called me and he has left and not done anything. Called the office and was told the house was not prepared for treatment. I never got the call from him. he told the office our house was piled up. No The f**k it is. We just remolded new paint and new furniture and this is the reason I wanted it treated. It's summer you get ants and anything else. But for him not to do anything or even wait 5 or 6 minutes for me. I guess this company doesn't want to make money cause I wanted to set up a yearly treatment.

Our office team gave the tenants specific instructions for preparing the living area for the type of treatment that needed to be done because this was a specialized treatment. None of the preparations were followed and the conditions upon arrival did not allow us to treat

I have paid Capital pest for at least the last 4 years to treat my home against roaches, mosquitoes, ticks and fleas. I have had to call and complain sometimes over the years when I observed lazy technicians not treating my entire property and that their treatment was in effective. I observed a technician treating my property for only ten minutes and have it recorded on video. My property is a little over an acre and I observed the technician not servicing my entire property. I called capital pest and told them about my video and the service manager stated he did not have time to look at the video and that the technician was a 7 year veteran. Service manager stated that since I was not happy he was closing my account. He later called me back and apologized stating that the work order for my property failed to list flea treatment and he was sending someone out. I did not see any technician come out nor did anyone leave their customary note on my door stating service had been performed. I had to again call Capital pest as my home now has roaches getting in and my home is infested with fleas. Capital pest's response to my complaint was to hang up on me and not answer my calls. I received an email from Capital pest stating that since I was not happy with their service they were closing my account and would no longer service my property. Just horrible that they do not monitor their employees to insure customers are receiving the treatments they paid for and that they are properly applied. It is also horrible that Capital pest does not stand behind their work nor do they take any responsibility or offer any help when an infestation that they were paid to prevent happens. Unless you are home when service is performed on your property, I do not recommend using Capital pest as you have no way of knowing if they treated your property properly or not.

Everything the reviewer stated above is completely false. Our history of reviews speak for themselves. The customer’s account was closed because he was extremely disrespectful, belligerent, and derogatory towards our office team. As the president of the company, even though it’s my job to make sure we please our customers, I will not tolerate my employees being treated in such a way. The customer was also refunded all of their money so they could try and find another company who might be able to please him.

I have used Capital Pest since it's conception and have always been very pleased with their service... until they went to an automated scheduling system. An appointment is scheduled for you and regardless of whether you agreed to the service or not, or even knew the service took place, you are charged. The technician will take it upon himself to spray the outside of your house which constitutes a service visit. That would be fine if I had asked that the service be performed, and I was aware of their visit. I never agreed to be placed on the new system, and I will not pay for services I didn't request. Is this even legal?

We apologize for the inconvenience and understand your concern. In order to stay up to date with the service industry it was imperative to go to a software that automatically schedules appointments in order to make routes more efficient and reduce gas emissions from vehicles. Appointments are only schedule automatically once a service contract has been agreed to and the first service has been performed. You had started a service contract with us prior to us transferring to our new system so we did not provide a service that was not agreed to. Nor did we automatically charge you for a service, we just provided an invoice. We made multiple attempts to notify you of the new system and scheduling options between your November and February appointments but you never answered or called us back. According to you, you no longer have that phone number. We were not made aware of that. And because we were never notified you wished to cancel it is our policy when the service is due to make a perimeter service call and finish the interior when it is convenient for the customer. We actually get many thanks from our customers for this type of service because people forget to schedule a lot times and/or change phone numbers and we are not able to get in contact with them and this serves as a friendly reminder. Our new software also minimizes the negative impact of waste on the environment as we have reduced our paper waste by over 50%. Agreeing or not agreeing to be placed on the new system does not and did not change the actual service program that you were on, just how that appointments were scheduled. Quarterly appointments are scheduled and serviced every 3 months and your last appointments were in August and November of 2015 so that is why you were due for services in February and May of 2016. We have conducted many surveys since our software conversion and we have 99.7% customer satisfaction with the automated scheduling system. I am sorry you are in the .03%. However we feel like most of this could have been resolved early if we were able to obtain the phone number that you are now using. If you have any questions on the legalities of what was done please feel free to give us a call and ask for the owner and I will be happy to discuss everything with you. Also, thank you for the time that you were a customer of Capital Pest Services. Without customers like you we would not have been able to make it for 35 years!

I originally heard about Capital Pest Control when they came out to treat the facility I work at. When I called to schedule an appointment I was greeted by Hannah. While her tone was harsh I proceeded to schedule an appointment for Thursday. Soon after our call concluded I realized I would need to reschedule for the following week. When I called back I was greeted by someone else who happily rescheduled the appointment for Tuesday of the following week. Well, Capital Pest showed up for the original appointment. When I called to confirm that my Tuesday appointment was still on the schedule I was once again greeted by Hannah. Down right rude would be an understatement. She said there was no appointment on the schedule for Tuesday. When I told her I had called back, canceled the Thursday appointment, and rescheduled for Tuesday she snapped back at me that "it's not on the schedule". I was told they couldn't come for another week so I kindly said I might need to utilize a different company. Again, an abrupt goodbye was the response. Little does Hannah know, my company utilizes your services as well and as part of the management team I will be reporting my experience. I really like the guy that came out to treat our facility but it's not worth dealing with their scheduler. What happened to the customer is always right??
