SavATree - Tree Service & Lawn Care

We have worked with Scott, an arborist with Savatree, on several occasions. He has done an excellent job educating us about our trees and shrubs and making recommendations at each visit. In the past week, Scott and Henry evaluated a tree badly damaged by a wind storm. Together we determined it was best to remove the tree, due to the damage and disease. Joshua and Alejandro removed the tree today. They did an excellent job. They were polite, professional, and finish the job quickly. They throughly cleaned the refuse from our yard and the street. Joshua recommended I observe the direction another one of our trees is growing. I highly recommend this company and these individuals for your tree and shrub needs. They have exceeded our expectations.

Mikey Darquan and Jaulahondro were very professional and friendly. They were all knowledgeable and helpful with all my concerns. These are now gone because they are the invasive Bradford Pears. In addition, I have special tree treatment done on my River Birch and it's done on time and with no hassle.

We had a fantastic experience with SavATree and highly recommend their services. From the start, our arborist, Hans, provided a thorough and knowledgeable assessment of our property. It was clear from his proposal that he truly loves trees; he focused on their long-term health and aesthetics rather than just doing a "hack job," which was our primary concern. The crew—Josh and Justin—were equally impressive. They arrived on time, were incredibly courteous, and took their time at every stage to ensure we were happy with the progress. As dog owners, we especially appreciated how mindful they were of our pets' safety and their flexibility in pausing to allow for potty breaks. They did a meticulous job with the trimming and left our yard spotless. If you are looking for precision, expertise, and a team that treats your property with respect, SavATree is well worth the investment. We will definitely be hiring them for all our future tree care needs!

I have enjoyed working with SavATree. When the arborist first came out, we went around my yard and talked about all of my plants and their needs. I have been gradually working on implementing the suggestions made. This will be my 3rd year working with the company. My yard looks so much better. They have been prompt in returning my calls and answering any questions I might have. I have been working towards my Master Gardeners certification and love how professional and knowledgeable SavATree is.

SaveATree is great the team I’ve worked with was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and helpful. Over the next year we are hopefully going to save our 40” dia Red Oak from a fungus infection with their care and guidance.

The Indiana crew was amazing and worked so hard! Here in Nashville was a mess after the ice storm and I am so grateful that that crew came from afar and did such a great job! I have my yard and pond back! They were full of trees and limbs! It was a big job! Thanks again!

I first heard of SavATree at a Morgan County Master Gardeners event last Spring. Ryan Lough had lots of information available and answers to my questions on trees. SavATree sounded like the business I wanted to take care of my trees but I feared they would be too expensive so I kept putting off calling. I finally requested their free consultation and guess what! They are reasonable and they are professional! Hans came out within 2 days of my mid January call to do the consultation. He walked the property with me and advised me on the pruning that would help to keep my trees healthy and my property safe. Later that same day he sent a proposal for my approval. I made a few changes; I love watching the fireflies in summer so Hans deleted bagworm treatment for that area of my yard but now I know I am responsible for hand picking bagworms from that shrubbery. Hans resent the revised proposal within hours and we were ready to schedule service, except for the winter storm that shut down Indiana and much of the country for days. When we were finally able to schedule, Hans was able to get a crew out the next day. Dakota, Grant and Herman arrived on time to do the work. It's rare for service people to be so punctual but certainly appreciated. They walked the property with me to be sure we agree on the right trees and work to be done, set up a safety zone and went to work. I watched from inside and was impressed that they didn't just start hacking away branches but carefully analyzed before making the cuts. They pruned 7 trees plus a stretch of shrubbery and removed 2 trees. All the cuttings were taken away and all areas left clean. Hans, Dakota, Grant and Herman were all pleasant and courteous. They even watched for my trash service to come because they had to move my barrel to get their truck in the driveway! They will be back in the spring to do deep root fertilizing and bark and bagworm treatment. Also sump grinding because 811 could not place flags due to snow and frozen ground. I highly recommend SavATree if you love trees and want the work done properly.

Not respectful of neighboring properties. This company just did work for my next door neighbor and repeatedly drug branches and debris across my yard and through my flower beds near the road (100% fully on my property). This was after my neighbor had spoke with them this morning (according to him) asking them to stay off my property. Not only that, but when they left for the day I found branches and sticks and all sorts of crap still in my yard — they didn't clean up after themselves at all. An anecdote: I recently had a large tree removed on the other side of my front yard and I specifically asked my tree crew (NOT sav-a-tree, mind you) to stay off my other neighbor's property. Not only did they oblige, but they fully understood "neighbor issues" and had no issue doing so. They were completely respectful of my other neighbor's property while doing work on mine. That's all I ask. It's really that simple. Be respectful. I didn't hire you, you're not doing work on my property — there's no reason for you to be on my property, dragging crap through my yard and over my flower beds.

Communication and ability to book is horrible. Attempted to book an in-person visit for a quote online, and they were 1+ month out (and my tree had an active infestation). I figured I'd call, so I did and left a voicemail. Each time it's taken them days into weeks to respond back by phone. Even when I call them back RIGHT AFTER they called me and I see I got a missed call, still no answer on the phone (called 3 times, stayed on hold forever; once I actually tried staying on hold 30 minutes and still no one answered). They shouldn't even have a phone number. I already had another company contact me, set up a time for a quote, give me a quote, I accepted it, booked the appointment, and they've come out and completed the treatment - and I have yet to even 'make contact' with SavATree. Pathetic.

I paid SavATree $1400 to trim two trees, a job that took about 2 hours. The crew chief arrived without notifying me, and I only noticed him working in my backyard. When I tried to introduce myself and discuss the project, he was unresponsive, more focused on smoking and ashing in my yard. Several limbs still need removal, accessible from my neighbor’s yard, but poor communication from the crew chief meant I couldn’t show him the back gate to facilitate the work. The crew chief left without my sign-off, preventing me from addressing my concerns directly. I had Scott come back, and he claimed nothing could be done, deferring to the branch manager. Now, Scott is quoting me an additional $300 to finish the job, which involves about 5 remaining limbs. I’m frustrated and hope the branch manager sees this, as these untrimmed branches will likely break within a year, forcing me to pay again for cleanup. Until this is resolved with a crew finishing the job properly, I cannot recommend SavATree.

We contacted SavATree to inquire about the cost of having an arborist look at a tree in our yard that was having issues. They responded that an arborist would come out at no charge to inspect the tree and provide quotes for any potential solutions that were identified. Matt came out and inspected said tree, along with several others on our property. He did not appear to be very knowledgeable, as he was looking up multiple native tree types on his phone instead of being able to identify them from sight. Regarding the tree in question, he identified that the tree was older, and potentially toward the end of its life, but said that an aggressive root based treatment and feeding program could possibly extend its life. Due to our concerns about potential chemicals injected in the ground getting into the ground water, we requested to see the SDS (Safety Data Sheet) for all chemicals that would be applied. One of the proposed chemicals was listed as a potential ground water contaminant on the SDS. After learning this we decided to do more research on our own, from this we learned that our tree in fact had a disease known as heart-rot, which means that most/all of the center of the tree is dead, and there is no treatment. Armed with this information I researched certified arborists on the ISA (International Society of Arboriculture) website, and found that there was nobody by the name of the person who came to our house listed as a certified arborist in the state of Indiana. After learning this, we contacted a small local tree company and got the affected tree, and a second tree, taken down for less money than SavATree wanted to trim the dead limbs from the diseased tree. The darker wood in the center of the attached picture is the dead portion of our tree trunk.

They refused to create an appointment for a quote simply because I asked for advice on which pesticides to use. The rep said that if I knew the product to use it might take away business from them despite the other large project I needed quoted. I would not recommend this business.

I was promised the tree work in 2 to 3 weeks by the arborist and it took 5 weeks. The receptionist told me she would call or e-mail me to let me know when the work would be done, and she did not. I requested that the tree taken down be left in the form of firewood, and they hauled it off. They were 0 for 3 with me.

I called to schedule an appointment. The two ladies on the other end of the phone were unorganized and struggled to schedule an appointment. Once they figured it out, they wanted me to schedule a SIX hour window for an estimate! After blocking six hours out of the middle of my day to sit around and wait for them, no one ever showed up. They didn't call to explain.

Horrible experience. The work was not finished as per contract. My yard was trashed and not cleaned as per contract. Still after one week of service dead branches are falling from the tree that should have been removed as per contract. Thirteen week wait and three scheduled service visits to do the work. This was their error because they did not bring the correct equipment to do the work. Offered a small deduction on the bill if we removed the bad review. We did not accept the offer.

Pings is the worst tree service. My neighbors are having trees trimmed and Pings has damaged several of our trees. There is no recourse because the damage is done and Pings has no regard for adjacent properties. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. The rest of the story... Ping's did replace the trees that were damaged as agreed upon. We appreciate your attentiveness to this matter.

Spent 20 minutes on the phone trying to get an estimate. They refuse to give an appointment and refused to give me a time frame. The only thing they will do is call when they are on the way. They stated I didn't need to be there however I told them I did so that I could speak with them and to ensure my dogs (underground fence) weren't outside as to make sure no one got hurt. They first asked for a billing address and all of my other personal information before telling me that they can't tell me what day it will be until they are on the way. I explained to them I couldn't just up and leave work, I needed to have notice of what day, not even the time, just the day they were coming out, they couldn't do that. Huge waste of time and energy. Don't waste your time calling them. Completely un organized.
