I scheduled an appointment with Critter Control for June 13 between 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM. No technician ever arrived, and I did not receive any communication explaining the missed appointment. As a property owner dealing with a wildlife issue, reliability and communication are important. I took time out of my day expecting service and was left waiting with no resolution. Very disappointing experience.

Provider response

Thank you for sharing this feedback with us. We are sorry we missed your scheduled appointment. This was a scheduling error, but we understand that doesn’t take away from how frustrating it was to be left waiting. We know your time is valuable, and it’s disappointing to be let down when you were expecting help with a wildlife issue. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention. We are working to improve how we handle scheduling and communication moving forward to prevent this from happening in the future. Thank you again.

Beware of this company. I do not usually write reviews but had a VERY POOR EXPERIENCE with critter control. MAKE SURE TO GET ALL SERVICE CONTRACT AGREEMENTS IN WRITING and read the fine print as critter control was MISLEADING in what they said to me during the inspection and talking on the phone with their customer service call center. POOR COMMUNICATION - I paid for mole trapping services and they visited my house a couple times but never set any traps during the “initial service plan” period as they told me they would. They also tried to end my initial service plan before it was completed to have me start paying a monthly recurring mole treatment plan. I called their call center and they gave me conflicting information from what I was told at the initial inspection so I was put in touch with the manager. The MANAGER SAID THEY WOULD SEND SOMEONE OUT TO FINISH THE MOLE EXTERMINATION JOB BUT THEY NEVER DID. I never heard back until they tried to send a tech out for a monthly recurring service a month later. I had to call again to tell them to cancel the recurring plan when I had already previously told them I did not want to sign up for the recurring treatment plan. If you need control of a critter, I would look elsewhere and do not recommend using critter control. Edit: I bought and laid traps on my own and caught two moles within 1 week. I hope critter control can take this feedback and include always laying traps in the initial service plan for future customers whether “fresh mole activity is seen” or not as there is no chance of catching a mole if no traps are set.

Provider response

We are sorry to hear about the frustration and confusion you experienced, and we appreciate you sharing this detailed feedback. Our records show our technician visited on 3/11, 3/13, 3/16, and 3/20, monitored the property for activity, and did not observe signs of active moles during those visits, which was communicated at the time. We understand there was still a disconnect in expectations around the service plan and communication, and our management team is aware of this and reviewing it so we can improve the overall customer experience.

I am a repeat customer and they have a good turn around in responding. Dustin always takes care of me with a joyful heart. They have won over my confidence and are here to provide protection over my investment.

Provider response

We greatly appreciate this feedback! Thank you for the kind words about Dustin. We're honored to have your trust in keeping your home protected from wildlife.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. TERRIBLE SERVICE AND YOU WON'T GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. I'd give 0 rating if I could. I called back in October about squirrels in my attic. The guy that came was from Louisiana, wasn't even local. He gave me an estimate. I paid the deposit. Week later local guy who must own the franchise or territory came out. Went in my attic and threw poison packets in my attic saying it would kill the squirrels and not to worry about it stinking up my house if they were to die in my attic. He started to get on my roof to install a one way door but then said he didn't feel good and needed to come back another day. Now mind you, I paid for trap and kill and they were supposed to come out every day for 7 days to check the trap. No trap installed and no one way door installed. Two weeks go by and after I called several times to be told they are coming next day (in their system that I had a daily appointment because they were supposed to be checking a trap that was never installed). I had to get angry and demand someone come out and get the squirrels out of my attic. The guy finally came and started installing metal material to close up the gaps around my house on the roof. He left sharp pieces in my yard and driveway that I had to clean up. Could have done damage to my car and/or hurt my dogs. The guy couldn't finish because it was dark and said he'd come back. Over 2 months, still squirrels coming in and out of the same opening, no trap set. The guy comes back out and puts in a one way door. Well squirrel chewed around it and still got in my attic. I called and told them squirrel still in my attic. How do I know? I watched him go right on in behind the one way door that was installed. Guy comes out again to fix the one way door and finally sets a trap along with some mesh metal material that the squirrel would not like chewing through. Guy came back a few days later, removes the trap and seals up the hole. Then expects me to pay another $700 when I'd already paid $1400. I will call AA Exterminators next time. I only called this company because I saw them in my neighbor's driveway, so thought they'd be good. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. CALL SOMEONE ELSE THAT WILL DO WHAT YOU ACTUALLY PAY FOR. SAVE YOUR $$$.

Provider response

We are sorry this experience felt so frustrating, and we understand how discouraging it must have been for this to take longer than expected to resolve the squirrel problem. We also take your comments about clean-up seriously and will be reinforcing that expectation with our team. If you have any remaining concerns or would like us to review anything further, please email us directly at customerservice@crittercontrol.com. Thank you.

Crystal was very helpful in getting things set up. Chad came out to do the job. He was also very helpful. He worked around the obstacles presented by the local power company needing to come out and disconnect the power. He even text me when they returned to turn it back on so that I could come back to the house. He also provided some good insights on additional services we are contemplating. I really appreciate that they made us whole on some work that a previous employee didn't do with no problems. I appreciate the good customer service provided. I would have given a 5, but I am still waiting for a call back from management, that I requested.

Provider response

We greatly appreciate this feedback! Thank you for the kind words about Crystal and Chad. We apologize you're still waiting for that management callback and will follow up promptly.

Revised- After my review below, I was contacted. And after ordering the siding trim, Critter Control made the repair. Only gave 3 stars because I had to do a lot of work to get this resolved. Since we had used Critter Control of Indianapolis in 2022 for a squirrel issue we called them again in March 2025 for suspected Raccoon in our attic. From the start communication was horrible. I had to call several times to have the one way door installed. Then we thought we heard babies and even though I called several times it took 7-10 days for somebody to come and check. The raccoon did additional damage to siding and trim the day after the one way door was installed. But Critter Control of Indianapolis refused to fix the damage, even though the signed agreement states otherwise. I am very disappointed with their lack of customer service and refusal to honor the signed contract terms. I would not hire them again.

Provider response

Thank you for sharing this feedback with us, Lori. We want to apologize for any inconvenience you have experienced with your service and with the delay in communication on our part. We completely understand your frustration and want to ensure this is resolved for you as soon as possible. Your feedback has been shared with our manager and he has reached out via phone to go over your concerns and discuss a resolution. Please give him a call back at your earliest convenience and he would be more than happy to discuss with you. Thank you again for your feedback and the opportunity to make things right.

I had a very bad experience with this company. They are very hard to get in touch with. The gentleman that gave me the quote (Phil) told me he will be available whenever I had a question or issue. He was not it took him 24 to 48 hours to respond if at all. I called the 800 number and got the run around they told me a manager would call me back never heard from anyone. They had no problem taking my money. Just the worst experience I've ever had poor customer service.

Provider response

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re very sorry to hear about your experience and the frustration you’ve described. Clear communication and prompt support are priorities for us, and we regret that we fell short of those expectations.<br><br>Our manager has been reaching out by phone and will also be following up to connect with you directly. We would greatly appreciate the opportunity to discuss your concerns further and work toward making this right. Thank you again for feedback and for the chance to address these issues.

Everything went well. Our raccoon problem was resolved. I only gave 4 stars b/c it took two months to return and remove the temporary door installed to remediate the problem. The technicians were FABULOUS!

Provider response

Thank you for your kind words, Laurie! We're so glad you had such a great experience with our team, however, we want to apologize for the inconvenient delay you experienced as well. Our management team has been notified of this issue to ensure that it does not happen again. Thank you again for your review! Your feedback is greatly appreciated.

Was told I would get my money back in 5-7 business days due to than not being able to guarantee the raccoons would be gone so they did absolutely nothing. Fair enough, until I never got my money back! I reported the company to my bank and I will be filing papers through the court if my $500 isn’t in my account in the next week. It’s been OVER A MONTH!! Worst business I’ve ever had to work with.

Provider response

We are sorry to hear about this but appreciate you sharing with us, Alyssa. Unfortunately, we cannot locate you in our system. Please reach out to customerservice@crittercontrol.com with your name, contact information, and the service address and our team will reach out.

No call, no show. Update — I called the next day and was told someone would come out at 5pm. They didn’t show up until 8pm and the guy was clearly tired, which was understandable, but said he’d contact me first thing in the morning about him and his supervisor coming back to check the outside of the house. I was contacted by a supervisor at 10:17 am the next morning and was told he was going to contact the worker that came out the night before and have him come back out. I was contacted by that worker at 6:09pm, saying they wouldn’t be able to come out that day. I told him just to forget it. And then they responded to my review and said they couldn’t do it because of a structural or accessibility issue, but no one even checked the exterior of the house. Don’t waste your time. 🙂

Provider response

We’re sorry for any confusion around your appointment. Our technician did leave a message and followed up with a visit to assess the situation. After inspecting the property, we found that we’re not able to safely perform the service due to structural and accessibility concerns. We appreciate your understanding and are happy to answer any further questions you may have.

Update, it took an entire week to get a call back, albeit a holiday week, one week later... I received a call from management, however I was not available to take the call which often happens during business hours. I did returned the call, but have only gotten voicemails back in return, twice...so we're even on the phone tag...It will be interesting to know if this Is just phone messages or if there's any real action.. I will update if anything more happens. A bat got in my chimney and I called in the morning hours on a Friday to get someone to come out. I was given a two-hour time window at the end of the day, I was also told I would get a call about 30 minutes before they arrived. I all took my plans to make sure that I was home and by my phone just prior to the 2-hour time window beginning. At 20 minutes before the 2-hour time window was Over, I called, politely asking where my service person was as I hadn't received a phone call and it was nearing the end of the two hour window. I was passed off to a customer service manager who told me that my appointment shouldn't have been scheduled that there was no one available to come, they were on vacation. As was the regional manager. I was faced with it being at the end of the day on Friday, looking needing to find someone else (at weekend holiday fees) to have somebody come out to service me, still with a bat in my chimney. I was also told that I would be included in an email to the upper management letting them know what had happened, I was not included in any such email, nor have I received any communication/ any offers to make amends and it's been two business days

Provider response

We apologize for the inconvenience and frustration this situation has caused. We understand how disappointing it must have been to wait for service that was not delivered, and we truly appreciate you bringing this to our attention. Contacted after hours and got a call back the following Monday for scheduling and an appointment was made for the following day between 9:30-11:30. I had to take time off work and waited for hours. NO CALL or NO SHOW. Wasted time. Would not recommend this service. Paul was supposed to call ahead and meet for a plan. Very unprofessional

We apologize for the inconvenience you experienced. Our manager attempted to reach you by phone to address the issue, but unfortunately, we were unable to connect. Generally good experience. The technicians could not find the dead mouse carcass, but they used some chemical spray to get rid of the dead mouse odor and it helped a lot. The odor is much less than before. They also set several baited traps outside our crawl space. Hopefully the problem has been resolved.

I scheduled an appointment with Critter Control between 3:15-5:15 PM. They were a no show. No phone calls as to what happened…nothing. I called them twice to see if Allen would still show up: I did not receive a follow-up phone call on why no one showed up. In the meantime, my issue still exists.

Terrible Customer Service. They billed me in advance for a monthly service fee. I sent 3 emails to their “if you have any questions, please contact” email address that they provided me, so that I could cancel the monthly service fee. They never replied. I called their local office 6 times, but nobody answered. I finally had to Dispute the charge with Mastercard.

Provider response

We apologize for the lack of communication and are addressing this internally as we always strive to provide our customers with the best service possible. Thank you again.

If I could give zero stars I would. I called them out for rodents getting in my attic and walls. They told me I had a mole/vole issue and that the mice /chipmunks use the under tunnels so if I did the mole treatment in the yard it would keep whatever is coming in attic to not come in. Said they would gas the whole perimeter of my foundation so I signed up for the treatment and if I wasn’t satisfied it was money back guarantee since I told him the issues I have had all these years and how many pest control companies haven’t helped. So the techs came out the following week and I only had one mole tunnel in the back of my yard so they only gased one tunnel so i asked them wha Ian told me about gassing whole yard and they said no only can do active tunnels. I said hmm that isn’t going to help me with the issue I am having then because moles don’t come in properties. So I called and a service manager came out and said the same thing so I told him I wanted to cancel the treatment and I agreed I would pay for that one treatment of gas but to be charged 403 for what they did and it doesn’t take care of the actual problem I am having. He said he would try to give me 50-25% back. I said hmmm I’ll pay for that one gas treatment. So I waited a week and didn’t hear anything back so I called the service manager and left message and no return call so I called the main number and asked for district manager and the rep called him and told him my issue and he said no she isn’t getting any money back so I asked to speak to him directly and I was told I would get a call back that day and I didn’t so I called the next day and told same thing he would call me and it’s now been 2 additional days and not gotten a call back and so I called again and still haven’t gotten a call back. This company i would NEVER recommend to anyone for pest control. They take your money and don’t fix the issue you have

Honestly I don’t know which critter control location is to blame for my poor experience. A few years ago I had a critter control come out and do a repay and remediation for bats. It was really expensive. The bats came back. I tried calling and all the calls go to a national hotline. They took my info and told me it would go to a local office. No one ever called. I called back and was told that the person responsible for calling me was no longer employed. They chatted directly with the office manager and told me he would call me back immediately. Never received a call again. In the end I feel like critter control has let me down. I pod a ton of money and the issue wasn’t resolved. Buyer beware.

SCAMMERS! NO INTEGRITY OR ACCOUNTABILITY I was told I only had a mouse problem by critter control. They tried to sell me a mouse subscription that was $90/month after paying the intial $200 or pay $5,000 to fix the problem in a more "permanent" way. This did not feel right to me so I want with my gut instinct and got a second opinion. The second company showed me pictures and videos of me having a HUGE raccoon problem, some mouse activity, and early bat activity as well. The largest of 3 huge piles of raccoon feces was located right above the attic entrance! This means Critter Control didnt even go into the attic to check. I messaged Critter Controls General Manager about this issue and after giving Joe Felegi the information he requested he never responded back. I would not reccomend this company to anyone as they obviously just want a paycheck. Edit 3/5/24: I do not appreciate critter control calling trying to do damage control after ghosting for 2 months, because i posted my honest experience as a google review. If the issue was actually of concern to Critter Control the General Manager would have responded to the emails and the person who did the inspection would not have been contacting me after said emails were sent. I have nothing more to say about this critter control experience. Pest removal is a very expensive and stressful process for most people, especially in the current economy.

Provider response

Your feedback is important to us, and we appreciate you sharing this information with us. Our manager, Ian, has reached out to provide further assistance. Please return his call at your earliest convenience. Thank you!

I had red squirrels get into my walls and attic. Critter control responded in a timely manner. They assessed the problem and found where they got in and then came up with a plan to keep the squirrels out. The crew came out a few days later and implemented the plan, which allowed the squirrels to exit and not be able to re-enter with no harm to them. The crew was professional and efficient. Good job! By the way I would recommend this business.

Provider response

Thank you for sharing your experience, Ron! We appreciate your recommendation and are glad we could help resolve the squirrel issue in a humane and effective manner.
