We’ve had a TriGuard annual service subscription for several years now, and today’s visit typifies why. Adam came in to treat a sugar ant problem. He explained what he did, answered our questions about our pets related to the baseboard spraying he did, and was in and out quickly. We know our ant problem will be solved soon! The visit was free with our annual subscription.

I was tricked into the service. It didn't work. I told them not to come back and I was done with their services. Well I didn't read the fine print. I was annoyed he wouldn't take no for an answer to begin with. So I signed the paper and now they want me to pay.

I’m not someone who usually leaves negative reviews, but this experience really pushed me to share what happened. We contacted this company for a rodent issue and only agreed to a one-time initial inspection, quoted at around $175. That was the only service I agreed to. What happened afterward was completely unexpected. Without my knowledge and without my authorization, they continued to charge my credit card on a monthly basis. I never agreed to any follow-up services, and I was not informed that there would be any ongoing charges after the initial inspection. When I questioned the charges, I was told that stopping would result in a very high cancellation fee, amounting to hundreds of dollars, despite the fact that I never knowingly agreed to any ongoing services. As for the inspection itself, they briefly looked around and placed a few bait stations around the exterior. That was essentially it. There was no detailed inspection report, no photos, and no meaningful explanation provided. Unfortunately, the rodent issue remains exactly the same, with no improvement at all. This review reflects my personal experience only. Based on how this was handled and the outcome, I personally felt fooled and scammed by the way the charges were applied without my consent. I’m sharing this so others are aware of what my experience was.

Response from TriGuard Pest Control

Hi Ailun, we're sorry to hear you didn't have a 5 star experience with us. We can't find any account in our system associated with your name, but we would love to speak with you and see if we can get this resolved. Will you call us at 206-455-6020. We always try our best to be clear and transparent with our pricing, and we always offer a discount to people who sign up for multiple services at a time. Hopefully we can get to the bottom of it.

The door-door guy came to my house one day when I was about to leave a family gathering even though I told him I was busy he insisted to hear him out real fast and don’t miss an amazing deal their pet control company had. (Friendly guy) The deal sounded to good to be true I should have known it was just a lie. (So be careful when they knock your door with a cheap service. Just a whole bunch of lies) back to my story I told the employee I was not going to be at home he replied that was no problem. His team will come and work outside with no bothering no need to be someone at the residence. Yeah another employee came later and did the work. Knowing no one was home I’m assuming after I told them. Good thing I have cameras and I didn’t mentioned my brother and Dad lives next door. Yeap they sent an unprofessional person that complained all the time about my home and how come I got a great deal. He made multiple calls complaining. My brother who worked night shift has bother by all the phone call complaints and cursing this employee was doing the entire time. Very unprofessional. Of course I called and complained just to find out It wasn’t a deal they were coming back for a second treatment that will cost me almost $400 more. Which I didn’t agreed and I wasn’t told. Horrible experience I ended paying at lot the almost $400 plus the first time service that was less than a hundred. I felt fooled and scammed by this company. No one apologized for the unprofessional worker every thing was camera and my bother as witness. Lesson learned and your company is no welcome at my house anymore.

Response from TriGuard Pest Control

Hi Veronica, it looks like your account with us has been closed for some years now, and that it was a normal service cancellation. I'm not sure what $400 charge you're talking about. Perhaps this was an experience with a different company? If you are interested in starting ours up again, we would love to help! Just call us at 206.455.6020.

Very unhappy with their service. I pay for a technician to clean and spray the spiders/webs off of my house. Still have spiders- on my house- right after the visit. Ok- they can come back out to do another spray. Still have spiders. It doesn’t matter what time of year- they NEVER get rid of them. They don’t even remove the webs that are there when they come! Called to cancel because I’m paying for a service that doesn’t even work, but I am locked into an agreement. So, I will have to continue to pay for an inefficient service, because I believed the salesperson who told me I’d be able to cancel any time. Always read the fine print!

Response from TriGuard Pest Control

Hi Amber, thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re truly sorry to hear how frustrated you’ve been, as this is not the level of service we aim to provide.<br><br>Spiders can be particularly persistent, especially since they are often attracted by other insects rather than directly affected by treatment alone. That said, web removal and thorough exterior servicing should always be part of the visit, and we regret if that was not your experience. We also understand how disappointing it feels when expectations around service effectiveness and cancellation terms don’t align with what you were originally told.<br><br>We’d appreciate the opportunity to review your account in detail and see what additional steps we can take to improve results and clarify next options. Please reach out to our office directly so we can address this properly. Your feedback is important to us, and we do take it seriously.

Absolutely horrible experience all the way around. The salesman’s told us we could cancel if it didn’t work, well after two treatments we still have bugs. They told us it would cost 700 dollars to cancel and the salesmen didn’t know what he was talking about because he was a contractor. Do yourself a favor and find a better company.

Response from TriGuard Pest Control

Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re sorry to hear that your service did not meet expectations and understand how frustrating it is to continue seeing pests after treatment.<br><br>Our technicians document each service, and treatments are designed to reduce pest activity over time. That said, environmental and structural factors can sometimes affect results. We offer complimentary reservice if a customer feels the initial visit did not fully address their concerns, and we’re happy to work with customers to ensure realistic expectations and effective results. Please contact our office directly so we can review your account and discuss next steps.

SCAM SERVICE!! The door-to-door salesman told me it would treat certain bugs (which were NOT covered when the second service happened). He also quoted me a much lower price than what I was actually charged. We were told it’s pet-safe and non-toxic, yet our dog is avoiding the yard where it was sprayed and our plants are dying. I have attempted to email, call, and text, and any time I mention canceling service or receiving a refund, nobody replies. DO NOT USE!!

Response from TriGuard Pest Control

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry to hear about your concerns and understand how frustrating this situation must feel.<br><br>All services are applied according to product label instructions and industry standards, which are designed to be safe for pets and plants when used as directed. Service coverage and pricing are clearly outlined in the signed agreement, and we encourage customers to review those details. We also make every effort to respond promptly to inquiries, and we regret if your attempts to reach us were not answered as expected. We encourage you to contact our office directly so we can review your account and address any outstanding questions.

Update..they continue to blame us and insist we damaged our rocks even though they were fine before they came. They do not return phone calls and will do nothing. I have a beautiful professionally landscaped yard. It is well maintained and I would not have algae on my sidewalk. Instead of fixing the problem they deny there is a problem. I understand mistakes happen but a reputable company would work with you to fix it. They will not fix or even admit they were the ones that caused the damage. We will hire a professional cleaner for $1400 and never use or recommend TriGuard to anyone. If there is a problem your on your own. Tri-Guard ruined my landscaping. I am leaving this review, and if Tri-Guard fixes the problem, I will update. Tri-Guard does our annual pest control and has for a few years. We have a professionally landscaped yard, and discovered at their last spray, the technician sprayed our flagstone rocks on the pathway and the spray damaged the flagstone rocks. It did not come off. We were unhappy with this, and decided to ask them to NOT spray the flagstone rocks the next time they came out. Which was 5/15/25. My husband called them a week ahead, and asked them to note that we did NOT want the flagstone sprayed at all and to be careful around them. Just the week before this, we had our yard professionally cleaned up and the flagstone rocks were pressure sprayed and cleaned before Tri-Guard came, and the old damage did not come off. He then called the day before they came out, and again, said to NOT spray the flagstone, and they said it was noted for the technician not to spray. We were not home when they came, and they sprayed the flagstone damaging it even more! They were called and told we were not happy with this. They came out to look at the damage in person and said they would have to find out what the regional office would do, and that these things happen. On their report, they also said the damage was due to lichen , algae and fungus, which is not true. The rocks are 3 years old, and do not have any fungus, etc. My husband had to note in the report, that that was not true, and the rocks had just been pressure washed and do not have any algae, etc. So as of now, we do not know what they will do, and our flagstone rocks are damaged. Just want people to be aware, and again, if they do come through with a reasonable solution, or fix them, i will update this review. But just know you cannot call them twice with a request to not damage your property with spray and have them follow instructions.

Response from TriGuard Pest Control

Hey Cheryle, thank you for taking the time to provide such a detailed update. We understand how upsetting it is to feel that your concerns weren’t addressed to your satisfaction, especially when it involves property you take pride in maintaining.<br><br>We take reports of potential property impact very seriously, which is why our team conducted an on-site inspection and documented our findings. Based on that evaluation, the discoloration observed was determined not to be caused by our treatment materials. That said, we recognize that this conclusion is not what you were hoping for, and we regret the frustration this situation has caused.<br><br>We strive to clearly document customer requests and service notes, and we are reviewing this matter internally to ensure communication and expectations are handled as clearly as possible going forward. We appreciate the years you’ve trusted us with your pest control service and are sorry this experience has led to disappointment.

Telling my mom to cancel service with these guys. They use something called Cholecaliferol or Vitamin D3 to kill rodents. I asked one of their employees how it worked. I was told that the rats eat it and within minutes have a heart attack and die. WRONG. Today I was walking in the side yard to the backyard and came across a young rat in my path struggling to breath. It looked terrified and miserable. My oldest child and I stayed with it for about an hour while it struggled with wheezing and labored breathing. I called animal control to see if we could bring him in to euthanize him. The rat fortunately died right after I listened to animal control's voicemail saying yes they would euthanize him if we brought him in. He kept twitching when he was still alive and you could hear him wheezing. D3 in animals causes a whole host of painful things such as: bone pain, vomiting, anorexia, increased thirst, fatigue, abdominal pain, depression, irritability, kidney stones, labored breathing, high blood pressure, kidney failure, seizures, and ataxia. And these symptoms can be going on for SEVERAL DAYS before the animals die. Our neighbor said she found 3 squirrels dead shortly after a Triguard employee came out and laid out more traps. So it's not just rats going in these traps. It could be any animal small enough to get into the boxes.

Response from TriGuard Pest Control

We appreciate you taking the time to share your concerns, and we understand how distressing it can be to encounter a situation like the one you described.<br><br>We want to clarify that cholecalciferol (Vitamin D3) is a widely regulated rodent control product approved for professional use and selected specifically because it does not contain anticoagulants. While any rodent control method carries inherent risks, products are applied according to label requirements and industry standards designed to minimize exposure to non-target animals. Bait placements are secured and intended only for rodents.<br><br>That said, we recognize that seeing any animal suffer is upsetting, and we take reports involving wildlife very seriously. We encourage customers to contact us directly so concerns can be reviewed promptly, placements evaluated, and adjustments made if needed. Feedback like this is important and helps ensure services are delivered responsibly and with care.

Terrible company, terrible product. I was not informed by the adolescent salesman that I would be entering into a contract. The first technician spent three minutes in and about my yard doing nothing before he called it completed. Although another technician was sent out to complete the work, I had to ask several times for ingredient lists for all products they used as I have a dog with highly sensitive skin. They placed a bait box on my patio, which has not prevented neighborhood rats. Damage to my fruit and vegetable gardens have occurred as a result. Whatever substance they used on my lawn caused large amounts of clover and fescue grass, and has burned my lawn. I’ve asked for them to discontinue service for all of the above reasons, including requesting they communicate via email and have failed to do anything or respond to anything other than telling me I have to pay for the remainder of services I am not receiving. I will be contacting the attorney generals office and they will be lucky if I do not go after them for yard damage and vet bills. Stay away from this inferior company, inferior products, inferior customer service, and children they send out to do subpar work

Response from TriGuard Pest Control

We appreciate you sharing your experience and are very sorry for the frustration and inconvenience you’ve described.<br><br>Our technicians document all services carefully, and treatments are designed to reduce pest activity over time.
