We had not done pest control for quite some time, (our bad) and one day I needed service right away. Matthew came ASAP and got us started on the right track. He did work above and beyond what I expected for a more than fair price and shows up for scheduled maintenance as promised. He does a great job and I recommend him highly.

Matt at Salty Dog is both personal and professional, and provides services that are high quality, and very reasonably priced. He is clearly a service provider first and last. I've had previous experiences(with pest services and other) with national companies, when I felt I was sent a representative that was sales first, service provider 2nd. Matt is also well networked with contractors in our community, and gave me a couple great referrals for other work I needed done. The bottom line is that I highly recommend Salty Dog and Matt for any rodent/pest related issues.

I had an issue with birds in my attic due to un-screened vent holes. Once the birds moved out Matthew applied vent screens to all the holes for a reasonable price. The weather was awful for multiple weeks during the project, so Matthew even came by during odd hours and on weekends to work around the weather to get it done. He’s highly professional and it’s always a pleasant experience to work with him.

Unlike other services that just rush in, spray for five minutes, and leave, Matt really takes his time to get things done right. Tenants heard scratching sounds in the attic. Nick coordinated with them and did a thorough inspection. We had missing vent screens and rodent feces. They replaced failed screens and trapped. It was quick and effective; great communication and a fair price.

Highly recommend Salty Dog Pest Control. 10/10. When rodents invaded my home through the crawl spaces and I couldn't get them myself. Events of cutting cabinetry and every rodent trap and device one could purchase from the store. Matt showed up within the week after we contacted them, assessed, and immediately enacted the plan to remove the rodents and keep them out. Very personable, fantastic customer service, and the best part, no more rodents or spiders in my home! They took the time to determine needed services with rodent removal, while also keeping in mind the existing animals and children in my home. Pricing for routine service is affordable and an absolute necessary here on Whidbey.

For many months, my house has had rat or mouse visitors. Both at different times. This has caused a bit of turmoil, and we began setting traps and were alarmed by just how many we were catching with periods of none and periods with a lot! So we finally turned to an expert for help. Because we already had quite a few traps ourselves, Matthew focused a lot more of his efforts on the outside of our house and helping figure out how they were getting in. Unfortunately, we have rabbits and chickens, and their food and waste, so we knew our house was going to attract them regardless. What he found was that our crawl space door had been breached, and was likely the biggest culprit. We also had vents along the outside of our house that led to our attic with mesh wire barriers, for airing out the attic. And three of them had openings as well, two very clear mouse sized holes and one other that was damaged large. So we agreed the best option was fixing these openings, since if we can prevent them from getting in, we should be great, and we already have plenty of traps to work with. The new crawl space door you can see below, it looks fantastic. Our last one was falling apart old, and had a hole in the corner. The frame around it was also rotted and the hinges were off. He had to remove the entire frame and re-cement the area to get this thing in and it is very sturdy and durable. Honestly it puts my regular doors to shame. Matthew was very friendly and had great advice for dealing with our problem, and even though the crawl space door was a lot more complex (with the rotting wood), he didn't complain once and made sure that his new door would be extremely efficient and elegant.

An absolute pleasure to work with! Pricing was very competitive and Matt, the owner, personally inspected my home, pointing out many ingress points for rodents in both my crawl space and my attic, also noting some other discrepancies that he did not have to do that were unrelated to pest control. I’m incredibly happy to have found Matt and Salty Dog Pest control and cannot recommend them enough!
