King George Termite & Pest

I live in Northern Virginia and called this company for service at my house in Colonial Beach. I spoke with a very nice woman on the phone and explained that there was a wasp nest in the eave of my house that would require a ladder to reach. She assured me the technician would come prepared with the right equipment to take care of it. I drove down to Colonial Beach this morning to meet the technician and get both the wasp issue handled and my garage sprayed. The guy showed up without a ladder on his truck and, without really inspecting the situation or the garage, immediately started trying to upsell me on a service contract — before even giving me a quote for the actual wasp removal. He eventually told me it would cost $500 to remove the nest because it would “require multiple guys.” Honestly, I would have paid that for the convenience of getting it done today, but they didn’t bring the right equipment and said I’d have to reschedule. At that point, the whole experience — the unpreparedness and the pushy sales pitch — just felt unprofessional and scammy. I told him to leave and decided to find another company that actually listens to customers and comes prepared to do the job they were called for. Bottom line: stay away from this company. They waste your time and try to upsell you instead of solving the problem you hired them for.

Highly recommend. Fast and professional service. Their pricing and plans are very affordable. Had a yellow jacket issue, tech treated for the yellow jackets and the rest of home. The tech was knowledgeable, professional, and efficient. If you’re on the fence about hiring a service to treat your home and in the KG area you cannot go wrong with their team. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

Honest, reliable, and effective!

I have been a customer for several years. This company has always been very responsive and easy to work with. Today I had a service technician out for our whole house generator--he found the controller had been damaged by ants and they were all over the generator. I called and before the service technician left there was someone from KG Termite and Pest out to handle the issue. It messed up their schedule, but Amber, Lynn, and Joey worked to make sure that I was up and running and they were so nice about it. Kudos!

Very helpful over the phone

We love this business! They treated our house for termites and were super professional and thorough. They also recommended a great bug zapper (rather than charging us for monthly sprayings, which add a million nasty chemicals to the environment and, eventually, our well water). We bought two zappers for around $35 each and they are keeping our property mosquito free! Highly recommend these folks!

Timely and professional
