My mother owns a rental property in Sandy for over 25 years. Take It Easy has provided lawn care at this property for that entire period of time. They have also provided sprinkler maintenance and repair for the last few years. They are reliable, responsive, and reasonably priced with their services. They also provide excellent communication and are easy to contact with any issues you may have. I would highly recommend this company..

Danny and his team did a great job with our backyard new sod installation. He was very responsive to follow up questions and came back a few times to make sure the sprinklers were covering the lawn well and helping addressing a few dry spots.

This is the first time I've actually written an online review, but I felt my experience warranted the effort. First impressions of Danny and his services were far better than the actual services provided. Don't be fooled by the attention to gain your business, he will likely disappoint in execution. Bottom line up front, having a lawn service should not be this challenging. Nor should your lawn look like mine after 4 months of services! Danny claimed to be a longtime expert in lawncare, sprinkler repair, weed control and fertilization. After being charged over $400 in sprinkler repair (labor and materials) I have several sections of lawn that are dead, these are obviously due to sprinkler problems (pics included). His weekly maintenance service was spotty. I had a dog cleanup service scheduled for Thursdays after he told me they would come on Fridays. But his invoices indicate he came on Monday or Thursday 50% of the time. He had the audacity to complain that the dog droppings were not cleaned up. His business/billing practices are lacking, and I was made to feel this was my fault. After communicating several times I had not received emailed invoices, he accused me, in writing that he felt I was lying as he sent them all to me the same way, and accused me of not wanting to pay him. He also threatened to report a negative claim on my credit, due to my non-payment of invoices I had never received. That is not good business in my mind. To be fair, I gave him a challenging project that needed a special touch. But after 4 months of working with him, he only applied one application of weed spray and fertilizer (only after I asked when that service would begin), said he had fixed sprinkler problems, yet continued to watch dead spots in the lawn grow without further addressing the issues. I've paid for his services in full, but don't feel I got $1200 in services. Buyer beware!
Provider response
Since starting my business in 2002, I can count on one hand the negative claims or comments I have encountered over the years. In each case, including the one at hand, there has been a consistent pattern: these complaints only arose after we pursued payment for significantly overdue amounts, despite our repeated attempts to resolve the matter amicably. Given that this customer has chosen to make these unfounded claims public, I find it necessary to respond to defend my reputation and set the record straight.
First, when I first reviewed the property 70% of the lawn was covered with weeds. It was clear the lawn had been neglected for several years. I clearly informed the customer that restoring the lawn would be a long-term process, requiring multiple seasons of proper lawn care to see meaningful improvement. We did not provide services for four months, as claimed. Our services ended after 2.5 months due to the customer ignoring repeated requests for payment of past-due invoices. The pictures the customer provides were taken a month after we had already stopped servicing the property.
We performed the requested sprinkler inspection and repairs in May, addressing multiple issues and ensuring the system was fully functional before leaving the property. The claim that the dead spots are due to our sprinkler work is unfounded for two reasons. First, no dead spots were reported or visible during the 2.5 months we serviced the lawn; the customer only brought this up over a month after we stopped services. Second, the dead areas could be the result of lawn disease or pests, which we were unable to investigate since we were no longer maintaining the property.
The customer’s claim of our inconsistency for not mowing on her regularly scheduled day is convenient. The customer was fully informed at the start of services that, like in any lawn care business, there may be occasions when mowing is postponed due to factors beyond our control, such as weather. One scheduled mowing was delayed due to rain. Additionally, two other instances were directly related to the customer. On one occasion, the sprinklers were running when we arrived, making it impossible to mow. On another, the lawn had already been mowed before our team arrived. These disruptions, though infrequent, were communicated as part of our service guidelines from the beginning.
Our billing system, which has operated successfully for over three years, sends invoices electronically to the customer's email address, and we've had a 100% delivery success rate unless the provided email address is incorrect. The customer was informed of our billing practices, and when we inquired about unpaid invoices, she claimed to have received the April invoice but not the May one. This inconsistency is suspicious, as both invoices were sent in the same manner, and our system confirmed their successful delivery. Per her request, we resent the May invoice, but despite repeated attempts via phone, email, and text, we received no further response or payment. After two months of non-payment, we ceased services in June. Notably, the customer was responsive to other inquiries but failed to address any communication regarding payment, raising further concerns.
In closing, while I regret how this situation, along with a handful of other negative claims, has unfolded, I believe the thousands of customers I’ve serviced over the years would offer a different perspective on my dedication to delivering quality services with integrity.
Take it easy is the 3rd company that I hired to take care of my lawn. They have out shown the other 2 by far. They came weekly as scheduled and maid sure that my dog couldn't get out of the yard if he was outside. They had 1 week in which the lawn mower they used for my yard was broken (they had to use a specific one to get through my gate), I received a phone call to let me know of the problem. In the past the others just didn't show up. Everyone that came by was very thoughtful and friendly. Hoping they will do my yard this year too.
