A bit over a year and multiple visits and my grass is the worst it has ever been. Paying $170/month to get dead grass - not recommended. And the response time is abysmal. I told them I wanted to cancel and they just ignore me. When I called, they put me on a very long hold. I was thinking I might not do this review, but that sealed the deal. I can kill my grass for a lot less money.

The Tech did not let us know that he was on-site by ringing the doorbell. We always want to converse with him before and after treatments. Also, we have a very large yard, and his stated time of 14 mins. using a Belly Grinder Spreader doesn't seem to have been enough time to adequately cover our yard.

We recently canceled our service after using them since November of last year. Similar to the situation that another reviewer mentioned, although our grass appeared greener, the weeds in both our front and backyard are not showing any signs of improvement. The service was also not very convenient since we would only get a 24-hour notice before a technician would be coming out and sometimes received no calls no shows. Additionally, some technicians only fertilized, and would not treat weeds, saying that it was not on their route, which would require me to call in to have someone else come out specifically to treat the weeds. For the price per month that was being paid compared to the quality of the work received, I would not recommend Emerald Lawns to anyone I know.

We had a very disappointing experience with this pest control company. A door-to-door sales representative came to our home and offered us a low introductory price for the first month. He specifically told us that if we weren't satisfied with the service, we could simply cancel within 30 days. What he did not disclose was that we were actually signing a 24-month contract. He also never mentioned there would be a $300 cancellation fee if we decided to cancel. Before the 30-day period ended, my husband called twice to cancel, just as we had been told we could. Instead of honoring what their salesperson promised, both representatives repeatedly told us we were locked into a contract. We explained that none of this had been disclosed during the sales pitch. Each time, they said they would leave a message for management to contact us. When management finally called, we again explained that their door-to-door salesperson never informed us of the 24-month contract or the $300 cancellation fee. Despite acknowledging our concerns, they refused to waive the fee and insisted we pay it to cancel. Beware of the door-to-door sales representatives. Based on our experience, they use an attractive introductory price to get you to sign up but fail to clearly disclose that you're entering a 24-month contract with a hefty cancellation fee. If you plan on signing up, make sure you carefully read every document before agreeing to anything and don't rely solely on what the salesperson tells you.
