Bee Be Gone

Would not recommend, unless you like no response by text, refusal of valid payment method, billing you half a year later, and trying to bill more than the agreed upon price. Here’s what happened. Agreed on a price to remove wasp nests. There was a delay but eventually David showed up and completed the work. I offered to cut him a check on the spot (in prior email communication he said he accepted cash, check, or online payment), but he refused, instead he told me to wait for a person to contact me to pay online. After a few months, nobody contacted me, so I left him a text. Still no response. Now suddenly, half a year later, his company sent me an invoice through PayPal and tacked on a 3% fee. I emailed him telling him I’m not going to pay one cent more than the originally agreed upon price, especially considering I offered to pay him that exact amount by check but he refused (though his email said he accepted checks). Will update with future development.

David/Bee Be Gone is awesome! We had a hornet's nest at least the size of a backpack in the basement ceiling and he was able to take out the entire nest and treat the infested area with insecticide. His flat fee was very reasonable compared to some of the other companies in the area. He was thorough, respectful of our space (such as covering his shoes), and knowledgeable. Highly recommend!

David came highly recommended. His voicemail and website directed me to email, where responses were usually just one or two words making communication very frustrating. After repeatedly asking for an appointment, he gave me a time of 7pm for what he originally described as "late afternoon." The day came and went with no update. I eventually emailed him, and he said he wasn’t coming due to the rain without even notifying me. Overall, poor communication and lack of follow-through made this a disappointing experience, and I had to alternative.

Great experience. He came out within a few hours of our initial contact, was done in under 15 minutes, and charged what I thought was a fair price. Plus he actually responded to my emails, which almost no one else does. :)

We had a basketball sized hornets nest on a light fixture on our second floor facia board. There was no way I was going to risk my life to take care of this. This was a job for my wife! She called Mr. Engel and he took care of the problem quickly at a reasonable price. He even took as many of the developing hornets that he could find to re-establish them at his farm. I highly recommend Bee Be Gone.

Amazing service and very responsive. I sent an email Tuesday afternoon and he responded same day and was at our house to inspect the situation the next day. Gave lots a great prevention information as well.

Terrible communication. Takes days to respond; won't make a solid appointment date/time. Doesn't seem interested in doing business.

Dave the owner has helped me with yellow jackets a few times over the years. He's honest and reasonable with his rates. Will not ask you do spend on treatments unnecessarily. I learnt that he had overcome a huge medical obstacle in the last year, and maybe that's why he couldn't respond to some of the requests on the reviews. He has always responded to mine within a couple of days.

Called and emailed. Never got a response.

No response from owner after asking simple questions about how the service works. Huge red flag. Very disappointed after all of these positive reviews.

Yesterday afternoon I found what I thought was a bee or wasp nest building underneath my balcony about the size of a side mirror of a car. Having never experienced this before, I just googled “bee removal” and Bee Be Gone was the first result listed. Had 4.8 stars, been in business 10+ years, and was a local company. Called first but saw on their website that email generated a much faster response. Saw a negative review about this and it was apparent they didn’t read the website. After a few emails, David was able to set an appointment for 8-10am the next day, not even 24 hours later! A win! David arrived and provided SO much education before and after. Turns out it was a hornets nest and he had been in my subdivision 3x before, removing the same type of nest. He said had I not noticed it, it would’ve grown to the size of a watermelon quickly! After removing the nest, he treated the entire balcony to prevent a rebuild and offered to return should the nest come back. I’m not bug friendly AT ALL but appreciated his willingness to educate me. Even found a dead carpenter bee inside the house and learned about them too lol. Just want to thank David for his professionalism and quick response. Highly recommend and will use again if needed. Support local businesses!

Highly recommend. Bee Be Gone is a favorite in my area, so I knew who to call when a hornet started a nest in an unused exhaust vent. David took one look and identified it as non-beneficial (no concerns about destroying the nest). It took him less than 5 minutes to take the nest down, then plugged up the vent to prevent the hornet from returning. David is experienced, hard-working, and very pleasant to work with. He can help with other pests, too (ants, rodents, etc.) I didn't shop around, but his rates are reasonable and he's very transparent about pricing.

David is a pro. He responded to my email within minutes and happened to be in the neighborhood, so stopped by a few minutes after that! Could not have been more pleased with the visit and him taking care of a Bald-Faced Hornet's nest that I had not detected until getting stung unexpectedly and landing in the ER! Super personable and took the time to explain some of the dynamics and what to expect etc. Even will come by free of charge should they successfully rebuild the nest. Big fan!

To start, I tried calling David a few times but his voice-mail and website stated that he was available 24/7 by email so I went that route instead. Days would go by without a response. We would ask questions and get simple one or two sentence responses, if any at all. We would have to send multiple emails just to get him to respond at all. We finally settled on a date after a week and a half of just trying to reach him. He said he would come by late Thursday afternoon. I thought maybe he would call the day before or that morning to confirm the appointment but we didn't hear anything so we assumed he would stick to the agreed upon time. The day came and went and we still had no word back from David. Until about 7pm when he said he stopped by and no one was home. I responded letting him know that we were both at work by then and 7pm is not the same as "late afternoon." Of course we haven't heard anything back from him since. We were really hoping to support a small black owned business, especially one with seemingly great reviews, but David's customer service was piss poor. It doesn't make sense for me to have to chase a person to give them business.

David was very responsive to my initial inquiry via email, and was able to come take care of the problem within approximately 24 hours of our first email exchange. He was very knowledgeable and friendly, and thoroughly explained the services he recommended. We had a hornets nest in one tree, and a yellowjackets nest in another tree. David took care of both nests, and then showed me how to look out for future nests. His pricing was fair and reasonable. I recommend his services 100%

We had a hornets' nest we couldn't reach overhanging our deck. With 2 young kids, we needed it gone quickly. David was at our house within 36 hours of me sending an email. Not only did he do a great job, he gave explicit directions for keeping the kids & our dog safe after he was done. He clearly knows a lot about stinging insects as well. My kids really liked that he took the larvae with him to relocate them in a wooded area away from people.
