When I realized that yellow jackets were nesting in the ground outside my patio slider, two things attracted me to hiring Home Advantage: They did not require a year-long subscription with a high fee to do a one-time job (unlike some other pest control companies). And they were located here in Columbia Town Center where I live, making them a little easier to deal with. Kevin made an initial visit to apply spray, and this seemed to work for about a week. However, the nest activity resumed with the wasps flying in and out all day and making it dangerous to step outside. Kevin had warned me that this could happen. I stayed in touch with the office and they planned a second visit to apply another pesticide, coordinating around rain forecast to make sure it was effective. A couple of weeks later this second application seems to have done the job and was covered by cost of first visit. // Lessons learned on my part: Don't try to block a nest entrance before calling professionals. This doesn't destroy the nest and makes treating it more complicated, and I was lucky to sustain only one sting. Also, with Kevin's advice, I should reconsider the practice of "Leave the Leaves" in my small, fenced back garden.

Fantastic! So professional and courteous. They reviewed our treatment options and scheduled us quickly. Kevin explained the entire process to us and what to expect after the treatment. We had yellow jackets make a home above our front door and under the frame. The treatment was successful and went exactly to plan. It was a very good experience the technician (Kevin) was on time, he performed a detailed inspection, answered all my questions and took his time treating the outside and inside the house. I was very pleased with the service, I highly recommend it.

I won’t speak to the initial delay; however, when the tech showed up, he determined that his ladder was not tall enough to reach the wasp nest I needed removed. He called his supervisor and they setup a 3rd party to come out. This cost me an additional $150. When the other company arrived, he assessed the situation and just went inside the house and into the attic and took the nest out through the attic window. No ladder needed. I did not need a longer ladder, I needed a smarter/more innovative tech. The 2nd tech never took the ladder off his truck. This still cost me extra money. Next time, I’ll just go directly to the 3rd party company instead of this one. I’d suggest you do the same: Lane’s Termite and Pest were great!!! Go to them directly.

Thank you Que for the review and we do apologize for the inconvenience. Sometimes more experienced techs are needed especially for climbing ladders or walking the roof to get to a nest. Thankfully we were able to get someone out for a 50ft nest at that price because they would usually start at around $450. All in all we are glad you’re no longer dealing with the pest issue. You have a wonderful day.

Lady that answered the phone was completely nonchalant when I called to close my account after a no-call/no-show. Terrible first impression. Don’t give a time slot that you can’t abide by, and then not even call to give an update, or apologize. I’m extremely disappointed.

Some times in the service industry, you spend more time than expected servicing one account and may be late to another; especially during these uncertain times at a low capacity due to Covid-19. Our fault. Again, we do apologize and if you do decide to give us your business, we will be more than happy to help solve any pest issues you may have.
Traps that were left were of no use after 3 weeks. Technician then left glue traps after I explained to him that the only mouse that was caught with from the glue trap that I had put down before they came out the first time
