They installed a new circuit breaker panel and connected all the wires, explaining to me along the way what they were doing. I purchased a new, top of the line Carrier A/C unit and since the purchase, I have had to request CroppMetcalfe to repair it to get it to "cool" my home. Due to this gross inconvenience, I made a reasonable request to Dean Perez to extend my service warranty the same number of years, it has required service and he "unprofessionally" refused. I escalated my request to Tim Cropp by certified letter and never received a response. Despite having had a good experience with CroppMetcalfe for many years, I am gravely dissatisfied with Dean Perez's rudeness and it is apparent that he needs training. It is unfortunate that he is a high level supervisor that is very incompetent in customer service and his performance will negatively impact CroppMetcalfe's reputation in the future.

Brian fixed a problem no one else had been able to solve: when I turned on a light it tripped a different circuit breaker that controlled other lights. tHe realized that another company incorrectly wired adjoining breakers so he rewired them. I was very pleased.

We had Jose Hernandez from Cropp Metcalfe Pest Control handle our yellow jacket wasp problems. The first nest was in the ground and Jose took care of it as well some ants that had also appeared in the house. On his second visit he proactively spotted another huge wasp nest on the side of the house where they had managed to get into the siding. He took care of that too and will be back to check on them!! Great work and professional service. Update 7/28: Looks like we need another treatment to get rid off the wasps. Time to call Jose again!! Update 9/1: The wasps came back and had built another nest. The others were still getting into the basement. Kelvin came in and settled these once and for all!! Thanks!

Commercial Rooftop unit having poor air flow as if restricted. Tech came out. Explained the issue. Instructed to communicate with me. No communication with status and left leaving paperwork with an employee. I came in the next day and had an email of the bill for over seven hundred fifty dollars saying the system was overcharged. I checked the vents and found the air flow was still the same, poor. I called. Cropp Metcalfe would not send someone back until I paid the bill. I paid the bill and the tech came back. Explained the issue again. Instructed to communicate with me. No communication with the status and left leaving paperwork with an employee. I came in the next day and had an email of the bill for another over seven hundred dollars saying the system was undercharged. I was hell bent. I finally had our staff investigate the issue starting at the rooftop checking air flow and filters; no issue. Checked the duct work at the base of the duct run from the roof air flow; no issue. From this point through the block wall to the vent the air flow was poor. Access opened at the duct base and used a scope camera and saw a multi louver panel closed. I found out it is a fire suppression setup that closes when the element is melted to release. The wire was rusted off on the release tab and caused it to close. I was able to get half refunded on the first work order, and the second voided. I remembered back in the winter trying to get the poor air flow resolved with them with the heat. They voided the invoices for two trips back then because they couldn't find the issue. I give everybody a chance, but this was the final time to draw the line and look for someone else.

I just had a service call for the replacement of a faulty electrical outlet and James Nieuenkerk was my technician. I just don’t have enough positive things to say about this experience. He was on time, understood immediately the issue and resolved it expeditiously. But more importantly, he went the extra mile to explain some issues of concern with my old breaker that he felt should be addressed for the safety of myself and my family. He was sincere and professional in explaining the situation and even encouraged me to research what he was telling me to confirm it, if I felt it was necessary. I easily made the original “diagnostic” appointment last April to sign up for a routine maintenance contract. Now it’s become difficult to get them to actually provide that service. It turns out they book months in advance and I had to argue about contractual obligations to get an appointment. They were due today between 10 and noon. Around 11:30, they called to move the appointment to 2-2:30. Nobody showed up.

I called spoke to Justin at crop metcalf. Even if my service was only hour and half they bill the customer half a day. Then he thought they here over 3 hours nope truck with Bernard sat outside until Bill showed up so he had bad information. I have cameras and other people here and my neighbor to verify. Best to use company’s that don’t have high overhead as they chg more for that 2. I never got prices invoice til I called the company to see how it’s charged and it’s was explained today. So use smaller to mid size companies as my total bill would been 756.40 vs. 1485.00 huge price difference and feel ripped off. So check around before you make my mistake. This is not a joke. I got 2 real plumbing places said wow and said you got taken to cleaners. P.o.

Good luck getting a hold of them. I've been on hold for 20 minutes just to get an appointment. I'd hate to think how long I'd have to wait if I needed follow up service with this company if this is their customer service with potential clients.

We enrolled in their maintenance program but when called for doing maintenance on our cooling system in May the earliest appointment they could give us was in July 5th! By then our AC went down and we had to replace it in hot season. If they had come in earlier and found out problem with our AC we would have replaced it in a timely manner without much headache and incurring extra cost.

Although Croppmetcalfe is recommended by smaller contractors and residents alike, they quoted nearly double what their competitors were charging. Needless to say I won't be using them to replace my HVAC.

Been using this company for years… usually took only a week or two to schedule an appointment. Then I opted for the preferred service. Apparently, preferred means they have you locked in and they don’t have to prioritize your work. Now, it takes several months to schedule service, and your tech never arrives without several calls to find out why they are late and if they are going to actually do the work. Also, the tech who originally assisted me in signing up for the preferred plan lied to me. They said I would get three service visits for the cost of two. No, according to the call-support, “they don’t know why he said what he did.” It seems fairly obvious to me, but don’t get me started on all of the excuses I’ve heard. All of which point to significant problems with their management and oversight practices. Apparently as bad as the government is, the private sector is worse. So, one last thing. When they notify you that their tech is coming, they say their 5 Star Tech is about to arrive. I’m not sure if their rating scale goes to ten stars, but I’m not surprised they think they are providing quality service. The skilled trades in the NCR are notoriously frustrating and maybe this is the best you can get here. Most of the techs seemed competent when they arrived, and some them were excellent. Reading some of the other reviews now, maybe I was lucky, or I just haven’t had anything go really bad. #crossingmyfingers

I cancelled my contract with CM today. I have been a customer for a little over a year and I recently had a major issue arise with my HVAC system in which it flooded my basement costing me thousands of dollars. I called CroppMetcalfe and had a technician come out to determine the cause of the leak, and I was told that the leak was caused by a p-trap that was installed incorrectly on the condensation drain of the system. I agreed to have the tech install a new trap which corrected the issue of how the old trap was installed. The reason I cancelled my contract is because of the way I was treated by an account representative today when I tried to explain the issue of the p-trap. As discussed with the tech yesterday, the p-trap is a part of the bi-annual inspection. It was never brought to my attention that the p-trap was installed incorrectly at any point during my previous inspections until the trap caused a flood in my basement. I was told by the account representative that even though the trap is inspected during each bi-annual inspection, that CroppMetcalfe will accept no responsibility for failure to notify me that the trap was installed incorrectly. I expressed my concern to the account rep that I pay CroppMetcalfe for its expertise in the HVAC field, and believed I could trust CM to notify me when my HVAC system needed work, but the rep insisted that CM will not accept any responsibility or stand behind their work and promptly hung up on me. Because of these reasons I have chosen to terminate my service agreement. I hope that the attitude expressed by the account rep today is not indicative of the culture of CM, and that one day CM will once again stand behind their work.

Commercial ac unit, 10 ton to be exact was installed on my business 2 years ago. Since day 1 I was very disappointed paid more then 15k and until this day the unit is not working properly. Not even on the winter, less then a week ago I called they came and checked it out and said it was working fine, charge me 300 just to check it. Very expensive and not trustworthy at all.

Called because our AC unit was accumulating water. Gary B. was the technician and came promptly, was very courteous and professional. There is a $105.95 automatic diagnostic fee, but he was able to diagnose the problem within 10 minutes and completely fix the blocked condensate line in an hour. He answered all our questions and I feel confident that the problem is resolved. I would highly recommend.
