They were all just fabulous! Leslie in the office was so great and worked with my schedule for treatments and the guys in the field were so great, answered all my questions and tolerated my hovering lol

I reached out to request a quote, but unfortunately, there was some miscommunication during the process. The technicians arrived to provide service without any prior notice or confirmation call. When I spoke with the manager to clarify the situation, I found their response to be dismissive and unprofessional, which added to the frustration. Willing to give them another shot but rough first impression.

On June 9th you called us and told us that you had received a quote from your current pest control company in excess of $10,000 to replace the insulation in your attic and treat for mice. We advised that we do not recommend that you replace your insulation, as that is, in our opinion, unnecessary and gave you a quote for $305 to treat for the mice.
We gave you your treatment date and time, then a follow-up text message was also sent at approximately 1:30pm on 6/10 including the treatment date and time, with a request that you reply by text to confirm. You did reply, saying ‘that works. Thanks for getting us on the schedule so quickly.’
When our tech arrived, as scheduled, he was kept waiting for 20 minutes, and was then told that you thought he was just there to give a quote and you were keeping your current pest control company. He called our office and spoke to his manager (who initially spoke with you) to see where the misunderstanding happened. The manager then got on the phone with you to remind you that we already had quoted you, and your schedule had been confirmed by you. I do apologize if his frustration came across as dismissive to you, but I feel your 2-star rating is unjustified.
They left a big mess for me to clean up when I got home from work after removing a trap from my appartment. This is really unprofessional.

These people are Neanderthals. They tortured a Racoon right outside my bedroom window. I will have that sight in my mind for years to come. They set out a live trap cage on my neighbors roof yesterday morning and this morning I saw a Racoon trapped inside the cage. Kentucky law is that a trap must be checked within 24 hours. Well, these people broke the law and I will report this. This poor Racoon sat out in the hot sun all day on a hot roof trapped inside this cage. I tried to get up on the roof to put him in some shade but my ladder was too short. See attached photo. The Racoon was panting and shaking and his hand was caught in the cage. These people will rot in hell and hopefully they will be prosecuted by the state of Kentucky. RESPONSE TO PURMAKIL'S RESPONSE. Permakil is lying in their Response. Shamelessly trying to save themselves. I am retired. At home most of the time. A Permakil employee showed up in the morning with an employee from Towne Properties to set up the live trap cage. I was standing right there working in my yard. The next morning I saw the Raccoon in the cage. As the sun began to start roasting the little guy on the roof I tried calling Towne Properties and got no response. I called the city of Crestview Hills and they told me that Permakil had 24 hours to check the trap. At that point we were at 26 hours. I called my HOA and got no response. It was 3:26 pm in the afternoon when a Permakil employee showed up. That's a response time of 29.5 hours. Clearly not within the Kentucky state law of 24 hours. The National Human Society called me and they will be conducting an investigation. I was going to report this incident to PETA but decided not to because they are known to get violent at times. I added another photo. Permakil also damaged a few shingles on my neighbors BRAND NEW ROOF! My HOA and Towne Properties are having a meeting about this to determine what action should be taken.

We absolutely and always take the animal’s well-being into account. It is absolutely false that the animal was trapped for more than 24 hours. Our client’s maintenance personnel checks the trap at least daily, and without delay reports findings to our office. For the better part of the day the animal was in the shade, and as soon as it was retrieved our technician provided it with water to ensure it was hydrated. Consider that this animal had taken up residence in an attic, where it is routine for temperatures to reach 130-150 degrees during the summer months. The trap set location on the rooftop is far from that temperature, and has the added benefit of mild wind and breeze, of which was present on the day in question.

Permakil follows all state and federal regulations completely and it is simply untrue to suggest otherwise. FURTHERMORE, WE HAVE, IN THE PAST CANCELLED CLIENTS THAT DO NOT COMPLY WITH OUR PROTOCOL TO ENSURE ANIMALS ARE TREATED HUMANELY. This includes our requirement that the customer perform a visual check of the trap every day and report back to our office no later than 10:00am.

While it is admirable that you are concerned about the care of the animal (as we are), especially in this day and age when humanity seems to be greatly diminished, it's truly unfortunate that you didn't call our office to inquire before simply complaining on several social media platforms with false and misleading statements.

They were able to get the squirrels out of our attic when no one else could do it! Nice representatives. Wonderful office staff, especially Leslie and Betsy. They were so patient with us while trying to solve our problem. They worked with our condo association to solve our problem. We love them!

Terrible customer service and the manager was very rude. In addition, their price point is VERY expensive (2X-3X MORE) compared to other services. As someone that is in the exterminating business, they should know to wear booties when entering our/any home (he said he left his in his van). The likelihood of potentially bringing pest/germs under their shoes is very high. I do not recommend Permakil and I highly suggest finding another company that treat their customer with respect and compassion. Update: My wife never confirmed that price. Yes, you have been in business for that long but maybe all of your employees don’t follow best practices. Take a look at your reviews in the last 8 months, there are some 1 star ratings too. I’m not the only one here not happy with your service and cost. Hope you can use this review to better your customer service. Good luck.

The service fee was clearly given to and agreed upon in advance of any work being done. I spoke with your wife, the pest was identified via photos and discussion, and the likely source of the pest problem was determined (moisture and likely fungus within your home). Even though I explained to your wife that unless the source of moisture was controlled, it was unlikely we could stop the infestation of bugs you were having an issue with. I suggested that we wait until after the moisture problem was taken care of to perform our service. At your wife's insistence that we schedule the work right away, I told her that we would do so and also make every attempt to try and find the moisture problem, which we did.

We inspected your entire condo, as well as the roof to find potential sources of water entry and pests. We found two insect species associated with moisture problems, as well as the source of the moisture problem and then suggested instructions as to remedy the moisture source, which is above and beyond our scope.

My techs do carry booties in their vehicles to use in the event that their shoes become soiled. As pest control professionals, we do not bring pests into our customers’ homes. My tech would have gone back to his vehicle to get them if he was asked to do so. As far as being 2-3 times more expensive, the old adage that “you get what you pay for” applies here.

We have been in business since 1972 and have never been accused of having “terrible customer service.” We take pride in giving all our customers more than they pay for and will continue to do so.
