About Heartland Turf and Landscape
In the spring of 2002, Heartland Turf and Landscape, LLC, was created. The great relationships we formed with our customers in the beginning, inspired a simple guiding principle on which we founded our company: “Extremely satisfied customers will remain loyal and spread the word”. Although our company has grown, we still provide the same quality service and attention to detail as we did when we were just two brothers cutting grass. We will always remain committed to striving for excellence in everything we do.

I have been impressed by the people who work for this company. From my initial phone call to find out about their services, the people that check out the lawn (Caesar), and the people you talk to on the phone(Jennifer), are all very knowledgeable and customer friendly. Very much appreciated.

We used Heartland Turf for the first time to do Spring cleanup and fertilizing. They were well organized and expeditious in scheduling the work. We appreciate their professionalism and quality of service!
I did the full overseeding service and then followed the appropriate watering schedule and it totally transformed my lawn from riddled with crabgrass to a lush green carpet

Detailed & Positive Excellent mowing job! They showed up on time, worked efficiently, and left my yard looking the best. Edges were clean, grass was even, and everything was cleaned up afterward. Heartland Turf and Landscape did a full lawn kill off, seeding, and fertilizer for me and the results are outstanding. Jen and Caesar were amazing, always responsive, thorough, and professional, and the crew that did the work was hardworking and detail oriented. I was so impressed with both the results and the customer service that I switched all my lawn care to Heartland. My lawn already looks better than it has in years. Trying to quote properties in Leawood, Kansas for aeration/vertigo overseed and ongoing fertilization treatments. Extremely rude receptionist and when ask how they came up with such a higher price than all the competitors they took offense and disconnected the call extremely rude would never use them or refer them.

We were unable to address your question about how our prices compare to those of our competitors because we simply don’t have that information. Our pricing is determined by our own business model and is considered proprietary information. I understand that might have been frustrating, but it’s not something our receptionist or even I, as the owner, can disclose.<br><br>After your phone call with our receptionist, she informed me that you were not satisfied with her service and had requested that an owner contact you. I called you promptly to address your concerns as you had asked.<br><br>During our conversation, you expressed frustration that our receptionist was unable to answer your question about how our prices compare to those of our competitors. Thanks for the mulch service. We were a little disappointed with the quality of the mulch. We were expecting black mulch but it appears to be brown. The coloring is not consistent I.e. some pieces not totally stained exposing chopped up lumber. Not a fan! Also, there was a lot of mulch dropped in the grass areas and not picked up.

Hi Dennis! I hate to hear that you're not 100% satisfied with the mulch installation service. I've attempted to reach you several times to make sure we do whatever it takes to make it right. If you're not a fan of our new chipped oak mulch, that's completely understandable. If needed, we'll come back out to remove it and reinstall the same shredded mulch that we used last year. Or, if there's something else that we can do to resolve your concerns, I'd love to talk to you about that too. Please contact me and we can set that up! 913-238-9278. Do not use this company. Very sketchy operations and and non trustworthy individuals running the company. Not truthful at all. Save your money and stay away.

I was so excited to have a company mow our lawn, as we’ve always done it ourselves. The first time they came, they left without communicating at all because they assumed they couldn’t get in our backyard, even though we were home. I called multiple times and nobody ever answered. They finally responded by email and I gave them a second chance. They came the next week and did a great job. However, the 3rd week, they never showed up at all. There was no communication whatsoever. I called at least 4 times and emailed twice. I had even received confirmation earlier in the week that they’d be to my house on Wednesday. I never received a response to my calls or emails. I finally emailed saying that unfortunately we would need to cancel our service with them if we could not count on consistent communication about delays or changes of dates. Instead of calling or emailing back to discuss the situation, I received an email saying, “ I have your services canceled as of today.” Clearly they don’t beee the business, which is unfortunate because I live in a large HOA community that could’ve given them plenty of business. If you like communication, I’d say look elsewhere even if their work is good. Not worth the headache!

I've looked into the sequence of events that happened with our office and crews and it appears that we definitely dropped the ball more than once. This is unlike us, and not our M.O. We realize how important communication is to a pleasurable experience with our company, and a quality product is only a part of the equation. However, it seems that you may not have received our voicemails explaining why we had to skip the lawn due to gates being locked or new sod that was too wet to mow. Despite that, I take full ownership of the poor communication from our office, and I apologize that you weren't completely satisfied with your experience. I'll be in contact with you right away to find a resolution if possible, or at least to personally give you a sincere apology. -Brett Jackson
Wow, we have used these guys for 3.5 years and not only have they destroyed the grass in our yard, they have also run over countless plants (blamed bunnies even though we have cameras) weed-whacked my Halloween lights and now the final straw is they weed-whacked the electrical connection on my custom Christmas pathway markers. I can’t find replacements. If you want someone to come and just do the job, they are fine, but if you want them to be accountable and careful, find someone else who cares about their business.

Hi Clint. I sincerely apologize that we have damaged your holiday lighting. We have already reached out to you regarding this, so I urge you to please get back to me so I can do whatever it takes to repair the lights at our cost. I will absolutely make sure to resolve the issue to your satisfaction. Also, you will not be charged for that mowing service. Mistakes can happen, especially if lights were in the lawn area and covered by leaves, but we will always be accountable for our crews and anytime situations like this occur. I recall the situation when your hostas were damaged and the video that you shared with us. Since the video was too grainy to see clearly, my manager inspected the damage and it did not seem consistent with mower damage. However, we informed our crews about it so they would be extra careful with them in the future. I apologize if we did not live up to your expectations. Experience has been much better than some of the other lawn companies around the area. Very attentive to customer needs. Highly recommend! Edit: They couldn't stop their lawn employees from creating divets in the yard or tearing up my landscaping. I always sent them photos of the damage and one day they just cancelled my service without notification or a heads up. They flat out couldn't mow my yard without tearing it up and then canceled me without notice. Real class act.

I agree that there were a few events when the mowing service was not perfect, which is why we credited your account for those services. We're not always perfect, but we will always commit to making things right. On August 26th, we mailed you a $100 check for your time and replacement cost of a broken solar light. At that time, we also notified you that it was apparent that we were not the best fit for you, and that we would be discontinuing services. It upsets me that our relationship didn't work out. I have used Heartland Turf for the last year and they have done a great job for lawn mowing, fertilizer, and weed control at a very reasonable price.
