I LOVE Hive Pest Defense! I contacted Cody at 9:50pm about a bat in one of our offices and he had the bat caught and cleaned up the droppings all with in one hour! I am so glad that we moved our commercial buildings to Hive Pest Defense and I will recommend their services to anyone looking for a great Pest control company! Thank you so much!
I worked with HIVE for about 2 years in order to treat rodents and my wasp infestation. I signed the yearly contract which included quarterly visits, and visits in between as needed. I frequently had to call them in between treatments in order to take care of swarms of wasps around my house. When I called I frequently received a full voicemail in response. When I left negative review, Cody called me directly and they were easier to contact from then on out. When they would come to visit I would specifically note where I was seeing the most wasps and frequently asked them to check underneath my deck since that's where they kept flying to. The wasps would die down for a day but be back the next morning. I frequently noted this but never really saw a decrease in the wasp population around my house. Eventually I grew frustrated and ended services. Today I called another company to take care of the wasps since they returned. I asked them to look under my deck and they said they found several huge wasps nests, both old and new. It's extremely frustrating to know that I spent thousands of dollars on pest control treatment only to never have the issue truly taken care of. I'm also extremely frustrated that I repeatedly asked them to look under the porch and that they confirmed that there was nothing there. I try not to complain or leave negative reviews, and tried to give a lot of grace (as seen by the long time I stayed with HIVE), but the situation overall is extremely frustrating.
Cody came to our home and rodent proofed behind kitchen cabinets Nd appliances. He also set traps inside and out while explaining all he was doing. 2 years later and Hive pest Defense is still giving excellent service. Now, their employee Jaxon Raymer services our home with an occasional follow up by Cody Eddington, one of the owners of the company. I continue to use Hive. Their employee Colter Sorensen does good work. We are repeat customers. On October 24, 2025 Will Solorzano did a great job servicing our home. As of January 5, 2026 we are still happy repeat customers. Cody came today and did a good job. Colter continues to service our property well on March 20, 2026. Very polite and thorough. Thank you.

Colter Sorensen did a nice job of spraying my home, inside and out. Very nice young professional.
Call them for a comparative bid on bat remediation. They were the only one to go into the attic and then confirmed NO bats. The critters got between the sheathing and our brick! (Built our home 26 y ago framer meshed the sheathing hole to the brick vent, left the gap between open) But we did have a mouse problem. For less than a third of the other two bids they sealed up the entry point to prevent bats, put out mouse bate & sprayed for spiders etc. quarterly service is excellent. Colton is our tech--thorough & courteous.

Hive was super easy to work with. They made it out to me within 24 hours and Cody made sure to spray my garage, which I hadn't thought about. I started to see dead spiders within a few hours of treatment and I was super happy to know things were working quickly. Definitely would recommend them for quick service and great coverage.

I cannot get off their work list. I have asked, called, emailed and texted asking them to stop. Please stop! I do not want anymore service. I signed up just to have them get rid of a wasp next and have ended up getting quarterly services that I did not request.
These guys charged us a bunch of money to set a raccoon trap in the attic. Didn't work. They then ghosted us and took forever to just pick up the trap from our porch. Then they sent someone to try to perform rodent service that we never ordered. Definitely not impressed.

Hi Ryan, the second visit was included in your initial fee and discussed prior to starting to follow up and make sure the traps were placed properly. Trapping is never a guarantee unfortunately. We wish we could force nature to always cooperate. Like hunting or fishing, it’s an educated guess and always try our best. <br><br>I will reach out directly. Very happy to personally discuss a resolution and we have attempted to revisit the property multiple times to help without success or payment made, when service was first rendered over a year ago.
DONT USE THEM! You won’t be able to cancel it and with all the spiders including black widows I’ve found, i’d say the products they use are trash. Main reason I got their service was to get rid of some rodents destroying my yard, didn’t fix that problem. I hardly ever put in a review but I’ve gone about this whole year trying to cancel this service only to be ignored by Cody and company. Next step is to report them to the BBB I suppose.

We’ve had HIVE for a little over a year now. They were the first company we looked at when we moved for pest services. Cody gave us a quote, took our information and said we were set up for their quarterly service. Great! This was all over text. No formal documents were signed or communicated. The first two services we received were great. No complaints. The technician was superb and had a fantastic work ethic. After that technician left the company is when things started to go downhill. The services started becoming really short… we’re talking less than 15 minutes for an entire outside perimeter that is supposed to include front and backyards, eaves, porch, grass, garage, etc. and the invoice stating several gallons of product being used when it is clearly obvious that barely a gallon was used (and a gallon is being generous). Then having video evidence showing the “quick job” and being lied to stating that didn’t happen. We work from home too, mind you, so we know when they're here. In addition to the “quick job”, there is absolutely ZERO communication on when services will be performed despite having every notification option checked in the portal. This was brought up in prior conversations to the owner and we were told “rest assured, this isn’t normal, our system should be sending notifications, we’ve recently swapped to a new system and are still working out the kinks”. Does it take several months to “work out the kinks” because we received nothing, ever. After several mediocre services, we decided we no longer want the service and provided written documentation stating our wish to cancel and to be provided with confirmation of our cancellation. This was at the beginning of the month. Our initial inquiry was on a Saturday, so we gave them the benefit of the doubt. 5 days go with ZERO communication. We sent out another correspondence to which we were told the owner was across the country but would look into our account when he “got the opportunity”. The next day, we receive a text that the technician has “completed their service and would like a Google review!”. Our cameras had NO ONE at the property, much less the technician shouldn’t have even been at the property given our inquiry to cancel! Oh, and they charged us for the service despite not even servicing and ignoring our request to CANCEL. (Update: they did remove the charge) Another week goes by with ZERO communication. I have to send yet another follow-up, demanding correspondence by the end of the day. A member of their team (who was very pleasant) contacted me stating my inquiry was forwarded to their manager — assuming the owner, Cody — and that he would be reaching out to me by end of day. Can you guess what happened? ZERO communication. I called again the next day and reached the same pleasant team member who verified that my account was still active and confirmed the owner did not reach out to me. They stated that he is the only one “authorized” to perform cancellations in their system and when asked for a direct line to resolve this I was told that is also not “authorized” — so there is no way to cancel service because the only user “authorized” to do anything is the owner who WILL NOT communicate, got it. They did say they would reach out again to their manager with my contact details. Can you guess what happened? ZERO communication. What’s interesting about this though is that the owner can go on Google reviews and respond to same day reviewers AND answer same day new clients. Existing clients? Forget you! Cody responded to 11 Google reviews at the time of this writing since our initial inquiry to cancel 3 weeks ago and 4 of those were during a time where he was “on the other side of the country”. Guess he never found the right “opportunity” to fit us in. I would tread very cautiously with this company. What others have experienced in these reviews is real, we’ve experienced it firsthand as outlined here. The business tactics are volatile and repugnant. I would not recommend this business, period.
They did not stop a pest control. I had called them to get rid of racoons. When they were almost done he e asked if I would like a.pest service for free because they had not been very customer service. Oriented. I agreed to the one free service. The sign a form. I stupidly didn't read it. I guessed it was for the original service request. When someone called me about cancelling the service I was sent I was told it would end October or November of last year. They came today to start it again for this year. They did do it today. . .
Ineffective. >$600 a year. Difficult to get a hold of. Turns into a long expensive contract. Tried to cancel via email, phone (VM full. Then someone said “owner will get back to you), text, finally I had to stop the poor young pest kid in person and say please get your boss on the phone I want to cancel. Talk to owner who proceeds to try to talk me out of cancelling by talking around it, why im the reason for the pest defense ineffectiveness (we have tomatoes - I know that’s why - I care more about the scheme like behavior more than the rats!), and $100 cancellation fee. Feels shmarmy to me. Company’s like this and their ilk made the local news for scam behavior.
I have TRIED to cancel this service. My suggestion? Do NOT sign up. It’s like a timeshare and you’re stuck for life. The worst part is I still have RATS. Nasty, giant, monster rats running around wreaking havoc on my plants and small animals. I’m pretty sure we’re going to be Patient Zero for the plague soon. I doubt their work ethic and have no respect for their business practices. I’ve yet to see One Dead Rat. Guess I have to change banks to get out from under this. Here we are. August 2025. Guess what? Will was out at my house today providing the service I STILL do not want. No means no. But not in Utah. I don’t know how long I’m stuck in this contract. I think I’m going to have to move and let the new owners deal with it.
If you expect communication, you should probably look elsewhere. While they did a great job eliminating our mouse issue, the communication has been unacceptable. We'd been happy to be on their quarterly service, but in August, they emailed us after the service was completed to let us know they had sprayed outside. This would have been fine (other than the fact that we just had to take their word that they did, in fact, come service our home), but we had an interior ants problem at the time, and I wanted them to spray inside as well as outside, and they never gave us the chance to request that. I've texted, emailed, called, all with no response since the end of August. I finally emailed two weeks ago to request that they remove us from their quarterly service and stop charging us, and that they confirm receipt of the email. Still nothing. The only option left is next time they try to charge us, we'll just have to contest the charge with our credit card company.
I called in and they were actually the next day available. But I paid $250 since I could hear some movements in my attic. Logan told me by just putting his head in my attic that there wasn't anything there. They charged me $250 and left a trap ON my roof. Not even in the attic. Then a few weeks later they came back to pick up the empty trap and charged me another $150 for that.I still hear notices everyday mostly from the samespot.
