I’ve tried 4 Lawn Care companies during the past 30-35 years. Two of them were very familiar companies (I won’t name them). None of them compare in results, and in communication, to Village Green. I found out about Village Green from a friend, who happened to win Yard Of The Month in his neighborhood. Don’t waste your time shopping around. These guys will get your lawn in top shape.

So we decided to go with this company. Ken was very convincing and polite on the phone when I scheduled everything, but when the technicians showed up for service thinking he wasn't watched, he only did a minimal portion of my yard, when I called him out, he went back and corrected it. I sent the video of what he had done to the owner, and I was told that the technician gave a different story, even though everything I have is on video and the owner decided to cancel my service opposed to retraining his technician. So if you're hiring this company, you better have cameras going because I sure don't recommend what they do when you're not watching.

He returned to his truck to retrieve a second spreader and completed the application to your entire lawn before taking the completion photos you captured on video. This is standard procedure when equipment needs to be refilled during service.<br><br>Luis has been a trusted member of our team for six years with an exemplary record. However, we understand that miscommunications can occur, and we respect that you felt uncomfortable with the service. As discussed, we did not charge you for this visit and cancelled your service.<br><br>We've been serving the community for 45 years by maintaining high standards of integrity and customer service. <br><br>Thank you again for your feedback, and we wish you success with your lawn care needs.
I began using Village Green for fertilizer and weed control several years ago after multiple unsatisfactory experiences with other providers of similar services. I can only say Village Green is in a class by itself. I have been totally satisfied with the services they provide for many years. They are not the cheapest, but they are the best. Their dependability, service level, and results far exceed that of other providers and I would unhesitatingly recommend them to anyone seeking a top quality lawn maintenance provider.

I heartedly recommend this company because they go beyond all measures to help you out. I had just finished having my ornamental shrubs fertilized and the day after my landscaper dug up the dirt around the camellia bushes to adjust the drip system. Ken very generously arranged for another feeding of these shrubs and I was so appreciative that he arranged this for me. My yard looks amazing and I give all the credit to Village Green.

I have been with Village Green for several years. There service is consistent and reliable. After each treatment, they will leave written summary of what was done/chemicals applied and how to water. Dependable and honest in business.

Village Green has always shown up when they say they will and my lawn has never looked better. Not the cheapest service on the market, but you get what you pay for and I believe I actually get more than what I'm paying for with Village Green.

Man that does estimates wouldn’t even come to house. Instead he thought he could by satellite . Then he said he would not give one because I have an oak tree. Not asking if I would have it trimmed and defying the other experts on and off the internet. I believe he would not give an estimate because it wasn’t a large amount of money, and didn’t want to mess with the smaller yard. Terrible way to do business thank God there are other people that are experts, and have high character.

Dee, sorry that you feel we were unwilling to take on your business because of the size of your lawn. Unfortunately, our call was disconnected, and I couldn't correctly explain our reasoning. We've been doing lawn care in North Texas since 1980, and based on our experience St. Augustine needs six hours of sunlight to establish (and it would not get that in your lawn based on our mapping software.) We would be doing you a disservice if we took on this project knowing that you'd need to replace the sod (or do something different next year.) We have many options for shady lawns and would be happy to provide more info if interested. Hello. We couldn't find your name/info in our system to further research. We are taking on new customers for landscape, sprinkler repair and fertilization and weed control. If you called about lawn maintenance it is true that we have few openings at the current time in order to service our existing customers without service interruption. Generally if we have to turn someone away we'll refer to another business that could possibly help. If that didn't happen on your call, our sincere apologies.
Every time I have scheduled a service they are very responsive and timely. My lawn has certainly improved. I do wish they would assess my other landscaping (outside of my lawn) to make any recommendations for care and continued health. Their billing procedure is a little confusing but they are honest and available to work through any confusion. Would recommend Village Green as a quality enterprise.

Update: Updated review to 3 stars. After placing this review I was contacted by the company and reimbursed for the full amount paid for the design that did not meet my expectations. I am removing my previous notes.

The service was ok at times BUT they either missed billing me or sent it to the wrong address and sent it to collections without so much as a phone call or a duplicate bill. They said they tried to call and our voice mails were full. Thats a bold face lie or they have issues trying to use the phone to dial the correct number. Either way both our phones are always empty of voice mails so this was total bulls**t! My advice to current customers is the billing lady has issues so beware! By the way my credit score is over 800 and I have never missed a payment in my 49 years of doing business with people.

Based on Mr. F's description, it sounds like this is an unusual circumstance for both him and Village Green. We are very careful in our attempts to contact our family of clients regarding payments. It has been our experience that most of the time if someone is behind in a payment it is because there has been some confusion, usually a misplaced bill or possibly an illness in the family. While I can't give specifics on an individual's payments, by the time we use a letter mailing service to send a note that says "a friendly reminder”, at least 2 months have passed since the service where we have sent two statements, two emails and attempted two phone calls. It sounds like Mr. F. has an excellent payment record and I'm sorry in this case we were unable to reach him regarding his account, despite our various methods of attempting to contact him. By the time he called us he was so upset with the situation that we were unable to ask for a better method for future communication. On behalf of Village Green I’m sorry that this case, which was isolated, turned out this way and we’ll look to it as a lesson to try and improve any short comings on our process for billing and contact our clients.
We used Village Green for years at our home in Garland--the service we received then was impeccable, but upon our recent inquiry to our new home in McKinney, the lady returning our call was not very helpful! She did not offer much besides telling us it would be MONTHS before we could have anyone come to evaluate our landscaping concerns. She was quick to say bye-bye and so are we!!! Sad to see a company who prides itself on customer service come to this!

This is Ken Hyatt, President and Founder of Village Green. We are fortunate that there are certain times of the year when our landscape teams are booked out a couple of months. Most of our customers are fine with waiting, and for those who need the job done fast, we offer other options, even going as far as to give recommendations to other landscaping companies who are not as busy as Village Green. That is supposed to be our standard procedure and why I wanted to personally respond to you to find out what went wrong when you called us. Because they have a very beautiful place
All I needed was a broken pvc pipe fixed and these people made it the most complicated thing I have attempted in years. Know-it-all attitude but can't follow simple directions or communicate. It they can't dig a hole in the ground I would not want them doing anything else to my yard. Just sayin'.

This is Ken Hyatt, Founder and President of Village Green. I'd like to share our side of the story based on my notes in our system. This started by Mr. McKee asking us to repair a leak in his sprinkler system. We explained we could not find his leak until the area dried out (this was in May 2015, the month we had record rainfall.) A few weeks after the rains and when the ground was dry we attempted to re-schedule the appointment but Mr. McKee was out of town for a couple of weeks and was unavailable. Upon his return we re-scheduled but when we arrived there were a number of people working on his place with tools scattered around the lawn. In order to find the leak we needed to run his system but that would have meant drenching the worker's tools and/or keeping them from their work so we called Mr. McKee to let him know we needed to re-schedule his appointment. At that point Mr McKee became upset and told us to cancel his appointment.<br><br>I apologized to Mr. McKee and let him know that I certainly understood his frustration in the process taking far longer than either of us wanted and told him I hoped he would be able to find a company he would be more satisfied working with.<br><br>I'm truly sorry this experience turned as sour as it has and wish Mr. McKee the best in getting his work done to his satisfaction.
