I would not recommend this company. Caught them multiple times skipping my back yard. After two years of service, multiple properties, my yards are still full of weeds and patchy. Save your money and go with someone else. Edit: Responding to the reply from the company on this post. That’s interesting considering I have an original contract from you guys that states otherwise. Strikes me as an easy way for you guys to dismiss my claim. Again, if you’re reading this post. Stay clear of this company. I stopped using this company months back because of their inconsistency and lack of accountability for their work.

The Lawn Doctor technician arrived for our first application of the year. Lousy day being cold, windy and a few snow flurries. Even with all that, our technician (Mike LaSala) did a super job making sure the application was done correctly with no shortcuts. Others may have rushed through the process to get back into the warm truck, but Mike put up with the weather and did a great job. Very pleased with the service provided.

I have been a loyal customer for several years. It’s expensive, but my yard has looked amazing. However, I cannot recommend their services and am very disappointed by the customer service. I had my lawn aerated and seeded yesterday. I came outside to find that the technicians had run the aerator into my deck and broken my bottom step. I was home at the time and neither of technicians came to let me know what happened. I sent pictures to the company and asked that it be repaired. The company denied causing the damage, even though there are clear machinery marks on the wood and aerators holes directly underneath. They refused to pay for the damage and told me they will no longer service my yard. I have been a loyal customer and this is how I have been treated. Find a different company with better customer service.

We used Lawn Doctor for approx 8 years. With the drought this summer I called to ask for technician not to do service for 2 weeks. The next day he showed up anyway and started to spray. I saw him on security cameras and went out immediately to ask him to stop. He told me had already partly sprayed yard but only one type of treatment. He loaded up and left all within less than 10 minutes. I had proof on cameras. Even so, we were billed for entire service of 2 applications and when I questioned we were given a minor discount on service but charge was more than double what it should have been. I sent camera evidence but to no avail. I paid the bill but canceled all services. The clerk was not interested in future business, just in collecting the overcharge. I should not have been billed anything since I had already notified them not to service our yard and she admitted that she remembered my call.

I originally gave a 5 star review - until I discovered they lied about their products and even though they told me it was nontoxic and they don’t use roundup… … they in fact use round up / glyphosate. When I confronted owner about this - he mocked me “everything gives you cancer” I’ve been able to get a refund but am still left with a yard full of round up with pets and infants. There’s a reason they don’t promote they use roundup - but owner truly doesn’t care about safety of customers families and showed zero remorse.

I have used this company for 2 years now. Every season I aerate and seed, I have hydra guard, fertilizer and weed control, and soil enrichment. The green grass pictured is from July 6, 2025 (after a week long heat wave in late June 2025). The dead and brown grass is from end of July 2025. After regular watering in the mornings. It’s unacceptable to pay this much money for services and it literally lasts maybe 2 months before it’s dead again. I’m over it. Just go buy your own fertilizer and apply it yourself. Save the money.

I just had a bad experience today with Lawn Doctor and as a customer it was very frustrating to know that customers are treated this way. They were supposed to do my annual lawn checkup yesterday and I was home waiting on my refrigerator repair man to come between 8:20-8:40am. I have cameras all around my house as well as notifications on my phone when people are on my property. I took my dog outside in my backyard at 8:35am and my refrigerator repair guy arrived at 8:40 am. I took my dog back outside while the guy repaired my refrigerator for the next hour and a half. Today I received an email from the Lawn Doctor stating they came to my house at 8:38am and assessed my lawn. I immediately called to let them know that nobody came to my house and there was a mistake. I was told she had proof they were there because it was entered into the computer. I explained that I have cameras and there was no truck or person on my property from their company that came to my house yesterday at 8:38am. She asked ME to send her video of my camera instead of questioning your employee on where he was at and not doing his job! It’s time to find another company to service my lawn if this is how customers are treated. Poor customer service!!

He clearly remembered your lawn and even noted a specific disease issue present in your yard. Additionally, the technician made an effort to personally reach back out after your call and even offered to came back by your property again in hopes of speaking with you directly to clear things up. However, we were informed that you declined the visit. We genuinely regret that this situation has left you dissatisfied. We had several years of wonderful service and experience and a ball was dropped last year and our yard was not seeded. We have seeded every year since we hired them. We reached out to try and resolve the issue and expressed our frustration that are our yard has drastically gone down hill due to the missed seeding which we were actually unaware of until last week as we thought our yard was seeded in the fall. At first he was apologetic and said there is nothing that can be done until the fall. When pressed on how this can be made right as we are frustrated how our yard looks, we were told to find another company and were hung up on. Every report says to contact us with any questions or concerns and we did just that. Very disappointed by a company who doesn't try and resolve a problem when something goes wrong and instead tells them to go somewhere else. Would have loved to stay with them and them provide some solutions as our experience was great until this and was hopeful they would make it right but that isn't how the manager responded. EDIT: Edit because I am unable to respond to the comment below. My point to the manager was 1) we had 2 dogs when we hired lawn Dr so nothing changed there 2) when we contracted with lawn doctor, we said we wanted yearly seedings and the only thing that changed was we went from paying annually to paying per visit 3) no resolution was ever provided. That is why I pushed on making it right because we have spent thousands of dollars with your company and wanted a resolution/game plan and not once was a resolution offered or was an offer to come on site and come up with a game plan to turn the yard around. I don’t have any contact from last summer where I was asked if we wanted to schedule the seeding because my response would be absolutely. I am astonished that someone you refer as a good customer for years you’d be so quick (quite literally the manager snapped) to cancel their service when they’ve invested so much in you and their yard. I hope people see this review and know if anything doesn’t go picture perfect with their yard and brings it to their attention, they will be terminated. Adding a picture of the yard.

You have been an outstanding customer and seeded every year with us. We perform annual lawn checkups every summer with seeding recommendations for the upcoming fall. Unfortunately, we did not hear back about scheduling yours. We know life gets busy and sometimes getting these household services scheduled gets overlooked. Unfortunately, the best resolution would be to wait until fall and Power seed to correct weak and damages areas. Unfortunately, that resolution was unsatisfactory to you and management felt it was best to part ways instead of continuing the argument.

I want to be fully transparent with everyone here, this has been my PERSONAL experience and I invite you to form your own opinion. However I can’t let this go without being addressed. I called lawn Dr on Thursday 26 September with concerns about my yard. I was forwarded to a man named Brad. I explained to him my concerns with the high amount of crab grass, clover, and weeds and the lack of grass in many areas. I understand that it has been extremely hot “drought conditions” but i would appreciate an in person visit to address my lawn on an individual level instead of the broad stoke answer of it’s been “one of those summers”. He explained to me that he’s been doing this for 20 years(which I did not doubt or deny that he had) and that it would take time, the classic run around answer and not fully addressing the issue. It’s been over a year and in my opinion as a consumer my yard looks worse than it has in the past and worse than many of my neighbors who don’t even get their yards treated. I never raised my voice, never cursed or said anything malicious, other than simply stating I was unhappy with the current results. I was met with “you are being combative” and “not listening to me” by Brad. I was willing to continue the conversation however and asked if he could come to my house for an in person review; he said “ I’ll be there tomorrow!” I said what time? Informing him I too have a job, he said “ in the morning”, I said what time, simply asking for a time block so I could be home He then met me with once again telling me that I am “being combative” which I was not. He then proceeded to tell me “I’m not going to tell him how to run his business” which i in Fact never did. I simply asked for a time block so I could be present and not miss unnecessary time at work. He then once again lashed out at me as the consumer telling me to “find someone else to do it” and hung up on me. I gave it time, roughly 20 minutes, and called back to see what the actual outcome will be? He canceled my account against my will and was once again unwilling to find a compromise even when i was. Long story short, the grass is only half of the equation. It was his personal choice to treat the customer this way. It could have easily been remedied by a simple visit or an adult agreement. If I could give my grass a score it would be 0/10 and the customer service would be in the negatives. I hope this helps you as the future consumer in your own decision making process. Ben, thank you for taking the time to leave your review of our business. You have been a customer with us for a year now and it does take about 2 years to have a 90% weed-free lawn. That is 2 years with consistent treatment and following the necessary recommendations. We have had an extreme drought for two years in a row now. Unfortunately, we are not Mother Nature and cannot control the weather. It would make business a whole lot easier if we could! We understand your concerns with the weeds. With drought and inadequate watering, the lawns will suffer immensely. You will notice turf loss, poor soil health, an increase in weed pressure, etc. If turf density is lost, weeds will grow in place of that turf. We recommend seeding every year to every one of our customers to maintain the overall health and appearance of the lawn. The weeds are an eyesore and we do everything in our power to satisfy our customers and keep them under control, but this is a team effort, and unfortunately, the lawn will not look desirable without the proper care from the customer. I apologize that we were not able to satisfy your lawn care dreams. We wish you the best on your lawn care journey!

It’s such a shame that a company who has a “no nonsense guarantee” and “if you’re not 100% satisfied, we’ll make it right” mottos, did neither in our situation. The lack of integrity that this company has shown towards us with, the unreturned calls, weeks of giving us the run around, empty promises of saying they’d be out to see us and never showing up not to mention the cost. We’ve invested 1,255 dollars this year only for our yard to look 100% worse than it did before their services. We’ve followed every tip, and recommendation that was asked of us even when we did not see much yard improvement, we stayed hopeful due to their reviews, but after our last treatment that has left our yard looking the worse it has ever looked. The dishonest communication and the ZERO response to even reach a solution has been the last straw. When we finally pushed back on trying to receive solution and/or refund of future prepaid service, we were met with very poor customer service, sas, attitude and dodged calls from their front office. The only consolation is that after hours and hours of OUR time we may be getting a refund for our remaining treatments and can finally be done with these people, but the damage and condition of our yard is embarrassing and completly unacceptable.

After receiving a few fertilizing treatment, I saw no improvement. Due to summer heat, I decided to try hydro guard treatment, more than half of my yard was death. Pictures were taken 1.5 years and more than $1000 later. Still weed with barely any grass.

Read the other negative reviews where they have burned other people's lawns as well. Purchased a new home and no one has been treating the lawn except for them since I took ownership. I noticed a large area was totally burned and saw lawn fertilizer granules. The lawn doctor tech came out tipped over fertilizer didn’t clean it up and burn the grass. When I told them about it they denied it and Kaylyn said I must’ve done it. Why would I hire them and then fertilize my own yard. I am a busy woman and do not have time for that. I was told the owners would call. Never received a phone call. Their employees are lazy and all they do is ask to add more services such as mosquito control or mole control it’s always some angle to make more money ...they are a rip off artist. Do not trust them with your lawn. All I asked for them was to clean up the mess and re-sod the area they burned and we would have been fine. But they are dishonest and do not assume responsibility for mistakes made by their employees.
