Austin was very friendly and provided excellent service.
My experience with Austin was not as positive as previous visits with this company. He seemed a bit unfamiliar with the system and missed some details, like suggesting devices I already have. In the end, I wasn’t completely sure that everything I requested was done.

We had a brand-new heat pump system, thermostat, and related equipment installed by Quality Degree in March 2023. Just two years later, we’ve already experienced multiple major failures, repeated service calls, and out-of-pocket costs that should not be happening with a fairly new and expensive system. On December 10, 2025, our heat completely stopped working during cold weather. A Quality Degree technician came out and determined the electronic defrost control and sensor needed to be replaced, but informed us the part had to be ordered. The part did not arrive until December 16, 2025, leaving us without heat for an entire week. Once the part arrived, we paid $207.32 for the repair, plus a $99 diagnostic fee. We were told to give it several hours to start working properly. It never did. We called back the next day because the house was still freezing. The same technician returned but still did not resolve the issue. After yet another call, a different technician was sent out and finally got the system working. Fast forward one month later, January 28, 2026 the heat stopped working again. Another technician came out and determined the thermostat was not communicating with the system. We were told it needed to be replaced at a cost of $226.40. The replacement thermostat they installed is the exact same brand as the one that failed, which raises serious concerns about the reliability of the equipment being used. This many problems in such a short time frame with a system that is barely two years old is unacceptable. We should not be repeatedly paying hundreds of dollars to repair what was supposed to be a reliable, professionally installed system. Because of these failures, I had to send my elderly mother away because she could not stay in a freezing house, and we also had to relocate our pets. This has been a cold winter, and no family should be dealing with this level of disruption due to ongoing equipment and service issues. Overall, this experience has been disappointing, stressful, and costly. I would not expect this level of unreliability or repeated breakdowns from a company that claims to stand behind its work.

Helen,<br>Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns. We understand how frustrating it is to experience heating issues, and we truly appreciate the opportunity to address them.<br>Quality Degree stands behind our work and welcomes feedback as a way to improve our service. We would like to clarify the timeline and actions taken regarding your system.<br>Your new HVAC system was installed in March 2023. Following the installation, we did not hear from you until December 10, 2025, when you contacted us due to a no-heat issue. We responded the same day and diagnosed the problem as a failed defrost board and sensor. At that visit, you were charged our standard $99 diagnostic fee, which applies to non–maintenance-plan customers. (A maintenance plan was previously offered and declined; this fee would have been discounted under that plan.)<br>Your system carries a 10-year manufacturer parts warranty, but labor is not included. The required parts were covered under warranty, and we returned on December 16, 2025, to complete the repair once the manufacturer supplied the components. Unfortunately, the six-day wait for the part was outside of our control. During this time, we offered space heaters multiple times, which were declined.<br>On December 18, 2025, you contacted us again regarding no heat. We came out the same day and found the defrost setting was too low, which we corrected. The system then operated properly until January 28, 2026, when you experienced another issue. We responded immediately and found that the thermostat had failed. It was replaced the same day under the parts warranty (labor not covered).<br>We completely understand how disappointing it can be to experience multiple equipment-related issues, but we respectfully disagree that we did not stand behind our work. Each time you contacted us, we responded promptly, diagnosed the issue, and worked diligently to restore heat to your home. We also offered temporary space heaters, which again were declined.<br>Based on the timeline and actions taken, we believe we acted appropriately and professionally at every step. A one-star rating does not accurately reflect the service provided. That said, you do have a manufacturer’s warranty and are welcome to use any authorized dealer if you feel another provider would better meet your needs.<br>We truly wish you the best and hope your system continues to operate reliably going forward.
Do business elsewhere. This company does not stand behind its products, leaving customers with additional costs when equipment fails year after year. I spent $23,000 on two AC units and a new boiler in 2022. My labor warranty expired 9 days prior to scheduling a service on the unit. Since the boiler was installed three years ago, I have had three service calls—one each year on avg. The most recent issue was a failed expansion tank, which was of course not covered under warranty. This time, the problem was a bad igniter, which the service technician stated cannot be cleaned. Please explain how routine servicing would have prevented the igniter from failing. Quoted nearly $400 for labor to replace igniter. Additionally, the warranty paperwork clearly states that service is recommended. That is the exact wording used. It does not state that annual servicing is required for the warranty to remain valid. As for the AC units, I had multiple service calls due to a leaking coil. It was eventually determined that the coil had a hole in it. While this was covered under warranty, it highlights a larger issue. These products, which I believed to be high-quality, name-brand equipment, are not built to last. I had fewer issues with my 40-year-old boiler and 20-year-old AC units than I have had with this new equipment.

Robert,<br>Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We truly value customer feedback, and it is important to us that you feel heard. At Quality Degree Inc., our goal is to provide excellent service and to address concerns transparently and professionally.<br>To provide clarity, I reviewed your account in detail. We installed a Lennox boiler at your property in December 2022. At the time of installation, the system included a 10-year parts warranty and a 3-year labor warranty through the manufacturer, Lennox. Please note that all manufacturer warranties are administered directly by Lennox.<br>Since the installation, our records indicate that we have serviced the boiler once prior to your recent request. On November 28, 2024, we responded to a weekend emergency service call due to a system lockout. The issue was resolved, and you were charged only our standard after-hours emergency diagnostic fee, which applies to all customers who are not enrolled in our VIP Membership program.<br>No routine maintenance has been performed on the boiler or any other systems we installed, as maintenance services were declined. As outlined in the documentation provided by Lennox, annual maintenance is required for warranty-related considerations.<br>On January 8, 2026, you contacted our office to schedule maintenance, which was completed on January 13, 2026. During this visit, you reported an error code indicating a failure to ignite. Our technician inspected the system, removed the ignitor, and attempted a light cleaning. Upon further evaluation, it was determined that the ignitor requires replacement, a condition commonly associated with a lack of routine maintenance. An estimate was provided for the labor to replace the ignitor, while the part itself remains covered under the manufacturer’s warranty.<br>As discussed, the labor warranty expired in December 2025, three years after installation. Because the labor warranty is administered through Lennox and is no longer active, we are unable to submit a labor warranty claim. While the part can still be covered, labor charges are the customer’s responsibility once the labor warranty period has ended.<br>We would also like to note that respectful communication is expected toward our customer service representatives, who are here to assist and provide support.<br>Quality Degree Inc. stands behind our workmanship and remains committed to addressing and resolving issues in a fair and professional manner. We believe the information above clarifies the situation and demonstrates our continued willingness to assist.<br>If you would like to discuss this matter further, please do not hesitate to contact our office directly.<br>Sincerely,<br>Quality Degree Inc.<br><br>UPDATE RESPONSE: 1/16/26<br><br>Robert,<br><br>We understand your concerns regarding the manufacturer and recognize how frustrating this can be. While these matters are outside of our control, we sincerely appreciate your business. For questions or concerns about the equipment, the manufacturer will be best equipped to assist you directly.
Not recommended. They installed a new hot water heater three years ago and it failed. They came out to replace it under warranty but charged me $2400 in labor. I had to have them return and redo the installation. They had numerous excuses for the poor installation. Beyond the cost, the quality of the work performed falls short of professional standards. * Multiple press-fit connections combined with SharkBite connectors within an 18-inch span * A missing cover at the bottom of the heater where the burner is located * An expansion tank that is not level, despite manufacturer guidance that it should be mounted vertically These concerns raise serious questions about the workmanship and adherence to industry best practices.

Fiona,<br><br>Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We truly value your feedback, and it’s important to us that you feel heard. At Quality Degree Inc., our goal is to provide excellent service, and we appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns.<br>I reviewed your account in detail for clarification. You first contacted us on November 26, 2025, regarding a leaking water heater and requested routine maintenance. We were able to come out the same day. During that visit, our technician determined that the water heater had failed and required replacement.<br>As discussed at the time, the unit carried a 6-year tank warranty and a 1-year labor warranty. This meant the water heater itself was covered, but the labor was not. Because you had no hot water—and with the visit occurring the day before Thanksgiving—we replaced the water heater that same day to restore hot water to your home as quickly as possible.<br>Due to supply houses being closed for the holiday, we explained during the appointment that we would need to return after Thanksgiving to complete the installation with the proper connections. You agreed with this plan, as having hot water immediately was the priority. We then returned the following Monday to complete the installation.<br>We also upgraded your water heater to a Bradford White model because the original manufacturer did not have a comparable tank available immediately. Waiting for that unit would have left you without hot water for the entire weekend. As a result of this upgrade, the warranty does not continue from the original installation date—instead, you now have a brand-new 6-year tank warranty starting from the date of installation (11/26/25).<br>This service was completed over a month ago, and we have not heard from you since. If there are any ongoing concerns, we would absolutely welcome the opportunity to discuss them and make things right. Based on the technician’s photos and documentation, the water heater installation appears to be properly completed and up to code. (Note - the photos your provided are before we returned, and we can happily provide the photos of the water heater now.)<br>Quality Degree Inc. stands behind our work and is always willing to address and correct any issues. If you would like to discuss this further, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
We have been with Quality Degree since our HVAC overhaul in 2015, thus my previous 5-star review of the company 6 years ago. We were also on the system maintenance plan as well. Oddly enough, immediately after installation we were informed a different (bigger) size frame would be better, then at each maintenance things were suggested but not necessarily needed until a few years ago. Things began to change. Employees missed issues which should have been caught ahead of time as they are on the “maintenance checklist” which I paid in a monthly plan. However, it was not yet their employee checked off it was fine just months or days before, which is impossible. I was given a different reason for parts to falter yet, another HVAC company said it should have been caught by them. Plus, QD attached their own pictures of defective parts on my maintenance receipts! Also, there was a noise which began after the first service job was completed by QD. Could they have bumped the wheel and caused it to be off, or replaced the wheel off-center in the first job? Certainly! Did they take responsibility?! Nope! Did we pay for it? Yup! Has the company changed in the past decade? Oh definitely!!! The owner came to our house but instead of correcting everything at their cost, it was still on our dime. We noticed the company is spreading out into other aspects of cleaning vents and such. They’re getting too big for their britches and forgetting their motto. Or maybe their new motto is greed. Not sure. But I definitely don’t feel the same about them as I did in the Summer of 2015! I have cut ties with the company and have been looking for another HVAC company that made me feel like I previously felt about Quality Degree! WHY DID I WAIT 10 MONTHS TO WRITE THIS REVIEW? Well, I try not to kick a business that seems to be going downhill when you see other recent ratings and comments similar to mine. But the real reason, the owner JUST RESPONDED to MY 5-STAR RATING OF 6 YEARS AGO! Not only is he responding to mine. He is responding to other ratings of 5-stars, so the reviews move to the top. I received an email which informed me and I DEFINITELY did want my 5-star rating and name attached to QD! However he may not like all of the responses of the older reviews (similar to mine) compared to the newer reviews where the feelings are no longer the same…I’m not alone! I guess they felt the same when they were notified. Someone also was a few years ago too, but I didn’t go through that many. The owner’s sarcasm and tone with customers is not appropriate nor appreciated. Especially when it’s blatant what he is doing! We have a pattern which proves QD’s negligence of following their own service plan and charging us for a different service, thus causing damage. If we want to pursue further, we can illustrate the multiple times this was charged to us and we paid. Obviously QD needs the money more than us if they need to jeopardize what was once built to be such an upstanding company!
Response from Quality Degree, Inc.
Hi Diane, thank you for taking the time to share your detailed experience with us and highlighting both positive aspects and areas for improvement. We understand how frustrating it must have been to encounter these issues after a long partnership with our company. If there’s anything further we can do to assist or address your concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Your feedback is invaluable to us in striving for the service excellence our customers expect and deserve.
I previously had a great experience with this company. Any time I would call for any service, they were helpful and accommodating. I called them to schedule my annual checkup of my entire system which was part of a maintenance plan I signed up for. I was told that they cancelled all of the service contracts in my area due to staffing issues. They said they sent an email out notifying everyone of the cancellation but I never received this notice. Disappointing, but it is what it is and I'll have to get a maintenance agreement elsewhere. But on another note, when I bought my system, it included a 10 year parts and labor warranty. The salesperson told me it was on the entire system that they installed. I recently called them about an issue I was having with the plumbing that they did as part of the installation. Granted, it was installed 5 years ago but, again, I was told I had a 10-year parts and labor warranty on the entire system. I was told my issue will not be covered. They brought up fine print in the contract that I questioned at the time the contract was signed. I was assured that the parts and labor warranty was on everything they installed. I'm sorry to see a company that I held in high regard, and also referred others to, has gone downhill and won't stand behind their work.
Response from Quality Degree, Inc.
Hi Randy,<br><br>I’m sorry to hear about your disappointment regarding the cancellation of your membership. Back in January, we sent an email to all members in the Harrisburg/Lancaster area explaining our decision to discontinue service there. While it was not an easy choice, it was one we ultimately had to make.<br><br>Regarding your parts and labor warranty, please note that it is provided directly through Lennox, not Quality Degree. When warranties are filed, Lennox sends both email and mailed copies of their terms and conditions, which outline exactly what is covered. I apologize for any confusion. If you have questions or concerns about coverage, you’ll need to contact Lennox directly, as they make all warranty decisions.<br><br>Please don’t hesitate to call our office if you’d like to discuss this further or need any supporting documentation. We truly wish you nothing but the best moving forward.
4 years ago, I rated this company 5/5, but currently I wouldn’t recommend them at all. They have been struggling to stay in business. Costco ended their contract for a reason. Their customer service, especially Jamie, is so mean. Their membership is a SCAM. They don’t send their technicians on time as they said they are short staff. Instead of apologizing, they blame it on the customer. Stay away.
Response from Quality Degree, Inc.
Hi Sameh, we're genuinely sorry to hear about your recent experiences and appreciate your feedback. We strive to provide excellent customer service and would love the opportunity to address your concerns and improve. Please reach out to us directly so we can assist you further. Thank you.
Colton Mabry did a mediocre work, he only check the outside unit saying that there’s no need to check the inside one, and it should be protocol to check booth of them. He said that some Coils where burn out, and that he replaced and installed new ones, there was no change how ever the air system is still not working properly.
Response from Quality Degree, Inc.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. After reviewing the details of your service, we noted that the capacitor was replaced because it tested as weak during our visit. Since then, we have not received any further communication, so we assumed the issue was resolved. If you are still experiencing any concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our office. We would be happy to schedule a follow-up visit to reassess the system and ensure everything is functioning properly.
Horrible experience I called their customer service line to have our unit cleaned post construction I wanted the coil cleaned and the blower cleaned and said they came out and did a routine service on the unit which it did not need because they had just done the routine service in October to this day they can still not articulate what was actually done during that service. They also had the nerve to make recommendations that the air intake installed, which was installed by them a few years ago is not big enough and that we should pay thousands of dollars to upgrade it because they installed it incorrectly. This is a horrible vendor and horrible customer service.
Response from Quality Degree, Inc.
We're sorry to hear about your dissatisfaction with the recent service. Our goal is always to provide clear and effective solutions for our customers. Regarding the routine maintenance performed, it was done according to standard procedures to ensure your system remains in good working order. If you feel that the services performed were not aligned with your expectations, we’d be happy to further investigate and clarify what was done. As for the air intake, recommendations for upgrades are based on the system’s efficiency and current needs, and we understand that these suggestions may not always align with every customer’s priorities. We’d appreciate the opportunity to discuss this further with you and work toward a resolution. Please feel free to reach out directly so we can assist you further.
Unfortunately, Quality Degree falls short on after sales support. I had 2 new heat pumps installed through Costco. A year later, I scheduled a service call (which was included in the sales price of the initial install)…they were scheduling 2mo out. Two days before the appointment, they call to reschedule. Fine, I reschedule for another 2mo out. Two days before this service call, they call to reschedule another 2mo out. At this point, my comment to them is if they can’t service existing customers they shouldn’t take on new ones. I don’t recommend them for new equipment installations and/or maintenance contracts.
Response from Quality Degree, Inc.
Thanks so much for your 5-star review, Corey! Your positive feedback means a lot to our company! Our team is dedicated to providing our customers with helpful information so you are equipped to make the right decision for your home comfort needs. We are glad to hear Charlie helped you along in that process! It was a pleasure to work with you and we look forward to future opportunities again! Thank you for your business with Quality Degree, Inc. for your heat pump installation!
We have been valued members of Quality Degree for the last 3 years and signed up for their subscription program. They came in and replaced my AC/heat pump through the Costco program. They recently came to my home to make sure things were up and running in my furnace about a week prior to Thanksgiving. The technician Angel said everything was working well. A week later my furnace stopped working. We called them on 12/2 and Angel stated that our control board needed to be replaced. He ordered the part and said it was covered under warranty. We said great and signed the documents to order the part. Angel stated it would be there the following day on 12/3. I called and spoke to Katie who indicated to me that the part had not arrived. I called everyday until Thursday 12/5 when the part finally arrived. The technician then comes and put in the part. He then states that his manager will be contacting us about the payment. We were surprised because in the 3 days that we called no one mentioned that we would have to pay for the part. We did discuss it with Katie who was of no help and gave us a measly $200 off the service. We paid for the part and we will be moving on from the subscription as well as the company. There is a total lack of communication from the entire organization. I would not recommend them for your services.
