I agree wholeheartedly with other reviewers that this is a scam company and I would urge folks to stay clear. Just today one of their clinicians showed up to perform maintenance on a dehumidifier we purchased years ago. I said that we hadn't signed up for anything and to please go. Come to find an invoice in my mailbox even after I told him to leave. In reading reviews here I see a common theme of showing up to do services on things not agreed upon (and then billing for it). Unacceptable. I call customer service for half an hour who are dismissive and rude. They acknowledge that we didn't sign up for anything but try to instill fear about what will happen if we don't have their service. They essentially hung up on me when I told them I wouldn't pay the invoice. Do not give your business to cleggs in Asheville!

The fee for that inspection has been adjusted from your account and we have spoken with that service technician to ensure this does not happen again in the future. We do believe the dehumidifier inspections to be very important. I have one under my personal home and have for years and I have an inspection quarterly to ensure that moisture readings are being done, the filter is being cleaned, and that the unit is in good working order. We do appreciate the feedback and will work to improve on our service and communication.

If I could give this company zero stars, I absolutely would. Beware. This is a scam company. My experience with Clegg’s has been nothing short of infuriating. They will sell you services and then fail to render such services while being dismissive and treating you with disrespect. The main salesman at Clegg's is a conman. He made big promises and tried to convince me I was getting a “great deal.” He quoted me nearly $3,000 for a carpenter bee treatment, claiming the “normal” price was $3,500. Another company ended up doing the same job for $340. That alone should tell you everything. Unfortunately, I also agreed to an expensive basement-sealing service that they completely failed to deliver. When the pests inevitably got in, they insisted I had only hired them to seal a tiny section instead of the entire basement, something that absolutely does not match what was discussed at the time of sale. The only person from Clegg’s I had a remotely positive experience with was the technician who came out for regular service. He was polite but the treatments were ineffective. I’ve had multiple bugs crawl on me inside my own house and even my dog has had bugs crawling on him, he ended up eating them. Based on my experience, I would never recommend this company. Proceed at your own risk.

They treated for termite control, 1 year. The technician seemed quite capable and used a probe and pumped in the solution into the foundation. I noticed a lot of dead critters in the basement afterwards. I still see evidence of ants around the exterior and Clegg' s said this is a separate treatment so I may ask about the cost of this. They did not pressure me to get an extended treatment as I told them I wanted to get a bond or certificate that the house is being treated if I sell the place.

Firstly , I did NOT choose Cleggs. I spoke with them on the phone and asked about their product and the cost, but said I would call back. I wanted a chance to discuss what their products contained as my daughter is quite sensitive. Someone showed up at my home while I was at work without an appointment and without my approval or permission to enter my property, and proceeded to spray everything with I don’t know what. I was yelling so loudly through the microphone on my camera that my neighbors heard me, but apparently the person there did not. It took a long time to get through to the correct office and, as a side-note, the wait music is absolutely horrendous. The first time my daughter went out in the backyard, which was several hours later, she broke out in a rash from head to foot, which lasted over two weeks.

LACK OF COMMUNICATION! I contacted Clegg’s Pest Control services Because the service that we had prior, took a birds nest with a babies in it and threw it on the ground! This was very upsetting to myself and my child! Since this prior pest control company had already sprayed, I told Clegg’s that I would call them and schedule an appointment when we were ready in a few months. The employee responded by saying that they would be there when I was ready! A week later, when I was at work, and my teenage daughter was home alone,Clegg’s Showed up and started spraying all around our home and then left a bill for $250!! Needless to say, I was upset and also very disappointed because I thought I had found a good service. However, everyone deserves second chances, and when I called their office, they said that they will wait for a few months to come out again and at that time, the $250 would be due. I am looking forward to new service with this new company here’s to starting fresh!

I'm not impressed with Cleggs. First, I received an automated call saying a technician was coming on a certain day but they gave me no information as to which property they were going to. I own several properties, so I called the local Cleggs and they had no record of an inspection scheduled. Then, I received a call from the inspector as he was on his way, which I didn't get until after his supposed inspection. I called him and he did an exterior only inspection because no one was there to let him inside. That's half an inspection. Do I pay for a full inspection when I only received half? Will cancel my contract and use a local only pest control company.

Clegg’s initially treated my home for termites. Afterwards to prevent anymore issues I got on their yearly inspection plan. For the first few years I met the inspector at my house during the inspections and we would discuss what he found, I was satisfied with their work. In December 2023 their technician came to my house for my annual inspection. My security cameras caught the inspector pull into my driveway and then pull out again, never getting out of his car to do the inspection. I got an invoice a few days later for an inspection that they completed. The inspection was dated the day that technician showed up but failed to get out of his vehicle. Upon bringing this to Cleggs attention they were apologetic and sent someone out to complete the inspection. When it came time for this year’s inspection, I told them I wished to not continue with their services due to the issues from the previous year. On 12/23/2024 they sent me an invoice stating that an inspection had been completed on 12/19/2024. I have cameras around my whole house and a truck did not even show up this time to do an inspection. I let them know that their services were not needed anymore but they never responded. On January 10th, 2025, they sent me the same invoice for the yearly inspection, that they did not even complete and that I did not even want! If you have yearly termite inspections with Clegg’s make sure that they are actually showing up and completing them.

I had the weirdest experience with this company. First of all the sales guy, Dwayne something is crazy. He is like a used car salesman. He speaks so fast and can’t slow down long enough to answer questions. All he cared about was getting my money. When I asked him more questions about payment, he said “I can’t help you”. I hung up the phone on him. He was way too shiesty. I never signed anything. 4 days later someone called me and said he was sorry he missed my install appt yesterday but he was going to install termite traps today. I told him there is nowhere to install the product. I am building a house and it won’t be done for 10 months. He is a liability to the company. I will never do business with this company because of him.

Terrible service. Questionable business practices. They were referred by a friend, so what could go wrong? Requested removal of a football-sized hornet's nest on outside of residence (see image). Was informed by scheduler it would be $250. Provided her with detailed information about how employee was to access the gated community (no one would be home during the service) using the directory and the keypad. Subsequently contacted by Dwayne and informed "$400 dollars and it's non-negotiable. I'll send you the information to pay before we come out"!!!!!!!!!!! $400 I questioned? "Well, they have to put on a bee suit". Let me get this straight; when I go to a restaurant I will have to pay in advance for my meal and I'm told the cost is high because the chef has to use a frying pan? When I go to the dentist I have to pay ahead of time, and am told the high cost is related to the dentist having to use gloves and his instruments? When I take my car to the mechanic, I have to pay in advance and am told that the cost includes the fact that the mechanic has to use a socket wrench? !!!!!!! At approximately 9:15 a.m. I received 4 emails (three from Dwayne and one from Shannon) regarding specifics of the service, payment information, etc. I responded soon after 11:00 a.m. to all 4 emails, canceling the service. At 3:40 my phone is blowing up with calls and texts from Joe, stating he is at the gate trying to get in to perform the service. Canceling a service 4+ hours earlier and having the technician show up with no knowledge of the cancellation (not to mention he was obviously never given the instructions of how to access the property as explained in detail to the scheduler), just further demonstrates the incompetence of this company (a franchise). I subsequently received two estimates, both under $250. Oh, by the way the most expensive bee keeper suit I could find was $229. The average, quality bee suit, costs $100-$180. What a scam!

Doesn’t call before showing up at appointments like they used to to ensure you’re home and can get treated inside, comes to appts even when emailed to reschedule, comes to appointments outside of given two hour window, took two years before someone attempted to clean cobwebs from porch and windows despite being told, before signing up with Clegg’s, that it was part of their service, house is supposed to be treated every other month yet have gone six weeks between treatments and six months between treatments, near impossible to communicate with the Asheville office, and best of all, tried to send a bill to collections that they said they’d credit my account for (due to all of the issues I’ve already mentioned). I never write reviews, but since a text from Clegg’s asked for my review, here it is. I do not recommend.
