Update after receiving a response: Cant quite tell if the response was AI generated because of how off-topic and ego based it was but Review platforms exist for people to openly express their opinions on places, companies, merchants, etc. Recipients dont have to agree or like what’s being said but it doesn’t mean people are trollin. I had a genuine concern so I voiced it. One can take feedback seriously for growth & improvement of their practices or seriously for defensiveness and retaliation due to a bruised ego. Now that I have had words from Curren rep, this experience has validated my opinion. Ya want good reviews? Be respectful & professional and provide good customer service. Ranting about irrelevant restaurant concepts wont get ya there. ——— I have been researching environmental companies for a new house and was considering this one since it was local and seemed like they had good experience. I did attempt to call them but received no answer (maybe they were on with another customer). In the meantime, i reviewed their reviews. After going through most of the reviews (good & bad), I was really shocked at the release/disclosure of clients’ Personal Identifiable Information (PII). This is unethical, unprofessional, and immature…especially when persons aren’t disclosing it themselves in/on their reviews. Im all for a company/owner defending their work/company but they should really reconsider the way they respond to comments. It seems to have been out of retaliation since it occurs on bad reviews but either way, I chose not to continue to reach out to Curren for hire, due to this. This is horrifying, especially for someone who has privacy concerns or is a domestic violence victim.

Joe G aka Anonymous Joe<br> <br>It appears you have not been a client of Curren Environmental. We take feedback from our customers very seriously, but we are unable to find any record of you utilizing our services over our 28+ years in business.<br> <br>If you have had a direct experience with our company, we would welcome the opportunity to discuss it. Please feel free to contact us directly at info.currenenvironmental.com so we can better understand your concerns.<br> <br>We have had many clients like how Curren responds to reviews, which is very honestly. But alas the internet allows things to hide behind a curtain and throw stones.<br> <br>Over the past 5 or so years Curren has performed work for well over 100 different restaurant locations. Many are new operators starting out or taking over an existing location, as the current owner is retiring. Covid really hurt many restaurant operators and helped usher in a new wave of restaurants. We are fortunate in that we deal with so many different individuals and businesses that you get to learn a bit about people’s lives. Restaurant owners are an interesting group they are front and center in dealing with customers, the "general public" and yes they deal with the customer bully pulpit of reviews. Consistently restaurant owners have said that if there is an issue during your visit, speak to a manager since an existing problem can be fixed and problems solved on the spot, making a learning experience and allowing them to improve service. Long time restaurants say the longer you are in business, you learn you are doing a good job regardless of what types of reviews you receive, good or bad. The theory is more satisfied customers, the longer you can stay in business, since bad restaurants will faulter of their own doing. But years in business and thousands of people served will provide very few reviewers of the restaurant if you look at it statistically. But 100% of the time some of those reviews will be negative. <br> <br>Joe G is a Local Guide Level 6. I highly recommend Curren Environmental if you have an underground home heating oil tank on your property that you need removed. We bought our home in 2013 and when we looked at our home when it was listed, I asked about the heating oil tank. I was told it was in the ground in the front yard. What the hell? I never heard of anything like that. Long story short, we bought the home and I worried about this oil tank for years. Finally in 2024 I had enough worrying and started the process of converting to natural gas and getting the oil tank removed. I found Curren Environmental just doing some Internet research and it was one of the best decisions I've ever made. Curren did a GREAT job with minimal disruption of my property and they were very affordable. Communication with Curren was always prompt, informative, and reassuring. If you have a project like this that seems daunting and something you think you can just leave for a later date don't put it off. Contact Curren and get the project done and done professionally.
Dave and the team at Curren are the only company I trust to handle environmental issues for my clients.
Curren with Gina Testa in the lead was extremely professional from start to finish while preparing myself with information before, during and after the removal of a one thousand gallon oil tank on my front lawn. Hats off to Gina and her entire work crew.
Response from Curren Environmental, Inc.
Thank you we will let Gina know. She is an excellent project manager
Absolutely professional, courteous, thorough, and easy to work with. The team at Curren made sure I knew what to expect at every step and performed the work flawlessly. They went over and above by removing some flagstones I should have gotten in advance. They were a great pleasure to work with.
Response from Curren Environmental, Inc.
Thank you for the kind words, it will be shared with the team at curren
I am so thankful for Curren Environmental. They have not only always been available to answer my questions but just helped me locate proper paperwork for a home that had a buried tank and were told there is no paperwork. This saved my client thousands of dollars in additional testing. I've been using Curren for my tank sweeps for years and also remediation work in the past. I will continue to use them as they go above and beyond in their work. David has been a wealth of knowledge and helpful.

Curren environmental had zero trucks on public roads at the time referenced as monitored by our gps units in company vehicles. No doubt some company employee was driving poorly but it was not Curren environmental
Curren Enviromental , Inc is a GREAT COMPANY! The People that work in the field are efficient, prompt and very knowledgeable. Pricing is Fair and Paperwork is provided quickly. Tiffany who is in the office could NOT BE more helpful. She answers all questions and if she has to gather info for you that is done 1-2-3-! Anytime I have needed something it is in my mailbox before I hang up the phone. My husband just passed away suddenly and I had no idea where documents were and Tiffany resent everything to me in 5 minutes for 5 Units of investment properties.. Thank you Curren Enviromental for a Great Job Always!
I initially hired Curren Environmental to handle an oil spill at my home and was quoted around $14,000. Over time, I’ve paid just under $15,000, including a $10,000 insurance check issued for the cleanup. While the early work (like tank removal and soil sampling) was completed, communication became sporadic, and the job was never fully closed out. For nearly two years, I received no clear path forward—until I posted a review and was suddenly contacted again. The latest proposal from Curren requests an additional $8,920, which may include charges for work already completed (like soil sampling), and it’s unclear what portion is new versus what remains. Even after repeated requests, I still don’t have a breakdown of what my prior payments actually covered or a firm cost for finishing the job. If you’re considering Curren, ask for detailed breakdowns, ongoing updates, and clarity on what you’re paying for. The work may eventually get done, but it shouldn’t require this much follow-up from the customer to stay informed. Update 4/23/25: After posting my original review, Curren responded publicly by including my full name and home address, along with personal commentary about my finances. I’ve since recovered documentation showing that the PA Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) recommended the Act 2 Land Recycling Program as the appropriate remediation path for this site back in 2021. Curren received this info, and their 2022 workplan submitted to DEP includes tasks aligned with Act 2—including soil sampling, excavation, and closure under Statewide Health Standards. Yet in 2025, they presented a new proposal stating that Act 2 work had not yet been done, requesting nearly $9,000 more, without acknowledging the nearly $15,000 already paid. My only goal has been to have the job completed properly, based on the original Act 2 pathway. I’m sharing this update to clarify the facts and protect my name, not to escalate the situation.

A story of when bad things happen to good people Dillon Jayasuriya 504 Washington Street, Tamaqua, PA . Curren’s involvement started January of 2022. December 16, 2021 500 gallons of home heating oil was released into his basement. There were reports by the Sewer Authority of oil getting to the Tamaqua sewer system & reaching the treatment plant. The oil apparently entered a pipe in his basement. The PADEP traced the oil to this address, it was not initially reported by the owner FYI. PADEP visited his home & indicated a break in the floor near the door to the room where exposed soil is present allowed oil to enter into the sewer system. The initial oil release in the basement was cleaned up by Lewis. So the owner first hired a different environmental company to address the tank leak in the basement. Curren was the 2nd company involved.<br>A sudden release of oil into a sewer system is pretty serious & unexpected. Curren got involved in January of 2022 a & worked at the property on January 19, excavating soils, performing soil testing and returning on March 22nd to remove these soils. The owner paid Curren with his insurance money but the extra monies were paid piece mail in 24 payments, with the last payment received by Curren on July 17, 2023. Curren financed his project & did not charge him any finance fees, you could imagine what fees he would have received if he paid by credit card & paid the credit card bill little by little over 24 months. <br>Did Curren get contacted to do more work after his final payment in July of 2023? Not that we have record of & this is the type of work we do, so we have a vested interest in responding to people who need our service. Quite frankly it was somewhat assumed he hired a 3rd company to finish the job as almost two years had gone by or he was waiting to build up funds to move to the next step. Now this was a surprise expense for him, and it took him two years to pay for it, a very diligent and honest person. <br>So how did Curren find out his project was not complete? He posted a review on Google criticizing Curren, granted this is his only Google review ever, so this was a concerted effort to climb on his bully pulpit. Being alerted of the review Curren contacted Dillon. We are now 3 years from when this was all started and the owner wanted costs NOW to address the remaining work, we supplied to him a budget within a few days of his online criticism. The scope was a budget as his issues have been worked on thousands of sites by Curren over the last 27 years Curren has been in business, so the theme of oil leaking and needing cleanup is repeated constantly. Each site has unique details but also many similarities. Meaning to really dig into this we have to review the data from 2022, which we told him we would, so what does he do? He writes an amended complaint about Curren So here is a project that is basically dead, zero client contact for years and boom, this project is front and center and demands immediate attention. So do we drop all other projects to assess his needs? Yes and no, we tell him we will dig into it shortly as there are other projects in front of him that are real estate transactions and have deadlines. Apparently that is not good enough.<br>Lastly he is complaining he does not have paperwork regarding what he paid for? Well we email all invoices (he received 4 total invoices) and he paid his invoices online and received repeated copies of his invoices, in particular every month he made a payment to bring down his bill ($100 here and there) he received an email of the invoice. I think the gap is memory is the 3 years this project has been ongoing. I understand he is likely stressed over this tank failure that his insurance only partially paid for, which is an unplanned financial burden on him and it has been weighing on him for years, but to jump on the internet and complain when he has been MIA for years, well that doesn’t sit right.<br>
It’s been several months since this company was at my house. Not only did they destroy my front yard and leave it that way, they also created a major water leak in my basement that clearly has oil coming through. I’m still getting the run around because they underbid the job from the insurance company, but that is not my problem. A job was paid handsomely from the insurance company, and curren skipped out on the job. DO NOT USE!

This person negative reviews a lot. Starbucks 1 star, Walgreens 1 star, Mattress Firm 1 star, Curren 1 star, Arby's 5 stars? Click on the TICKETS profile and you will see the many 1-star terrible companies. TICKETS is actually RADINE KONAWEL 811 Monroeville Road Mullica Hill NJ. Nice couple bought a house with an oil tank leak, the cleanup being paid by the former owner (seller) insurance company. No money had to be spent by these people to clean up the contamination, but they must live through the remediation, which is disruptive, but they bought the house knowing this. They are not even Curren clients. Insurance company has promptly paid every Curren bill. 100% aggravation comes with the purchase. In 30 years, I have met no one that felt great about going through a cleanup after they bought a property, zero. Remediation is like building a pool in your yard, big mess, turfed grass, but you do not get a nice pool. Work performed late winter and required water testing over the course of 3 months after remediation was complete, meaning yard looked bad for months. Insurance company had landscaper fix yard in late spring, grass grew but bare spots are present, landscaper returned once notified of yard condition. Curren does not landscape, so all yard repair was being performed by the insurance company, not Curren. <br><br>The house has a high-water table and historic wet basement. Hence insurance coverage groundwater contamination. The basement has a sub pump on one end and a floating slab, meaning concrete basement floor does not extend to the 4 foundation walls but stops just before the wall. Google floating slab, they are used when water issues are present. We have before remediation photos of the basement, which show a water mark along the basement foundation wall and staining on the floor indicating historic water issues. No doubt this was noted in their home inspection report if they had one completed. <br><br>Oil remediation is digging contaminated soil from where the tank leaked, which extended deeper than the house foundation requiring structural engineering and house support, which was executed flawlessly. Now as we were digging thousands of gallons of water spilled out from under the basement floor, meaning the 1 sub pump was not pulling water from the entire basement floor footprint. Meaning water sits below the basement floor. <br><br>Buyer’s remorse, having to live through a remediation, which is a disruption to your yard and life. I think they were hoping the insurance company would pay to fix their wet basement issues, which they would not, preexisting condition. Like many of her reviews, 1-star badges are given to businesses that she used or were not even a customer, there is a 1-star review for a truck driving poorly in front of her. (Ahem Karen). Would I be upset if I were the owner, yes you buy a home (your castle) and you live through remediation that fixes a problem but does no real visible improvement to the property. <br><br>Remediation 100% worked NJDEP NFA for site coming. Yard is getting addressed by insurance company. Buyer’s remorse but get on your bully pulpit and give Curren an undeserved rating.<br><br>26 years in business, thousands of projects a year, we take pride in our work, bad reviews on google all from NON CLIENTS, people who bought contaminated properties and are unhappy, we do not blame them. We freely tell clients what to expect, unfortunately our clients di not tell these buyers or else they may not have bought the homes.<br>
Very professional and experienced. I recommend them for all my real estate clients!

Thank for taking the time to provide your positive feedback
I am a local realtor and Curren Environmental, Inc. did a tank sweep for my clients in less then 24 hours of them calling. We had a 15 day closing and had to get inspections done fast. They had the tank sweep done and report out extremely fast. 👏👏👏
Response from Curren Environmental, Inc.
Jennifer, thank you for the kind words. Most Tanks Sweeps are completed within 24 to 48 hours as they are time sensitive to a property purchase 90% of the time. Reports are issued on the same time frame including tank removal estimates if, a tank is found.<br><br>It is good to hear Curren executed as planned.
Curren Environmental did a great job with a tank sweep and the inspector's knowledge and recommendations were top notch. I highly recommend.
Response from Curren Environmental, Inc.
Rafael, thank you for the compliment, it was shared with the tank sweep group.
Very Knowledgeable staff! Would highly recommend.
We went under contract on a home with an oil tank. When we toured the home we didn't notice anything. During our inspection the house had been closed up and there was an oil smell permeating throughout the home. The day we closed I called Curren, explained that there was an issue with the tank and we needed out asap. I spoke with Tiffany, who was extremely patient and helpful as I pushed to expedite the process. After putting the deposit down I heard from Gina who was our project coordinator. Given the urgency, she was fast to get us scheduled and today (approximately two weeks after close) the tank was removed! The service was extremely fast, cost effective and the guys did their best to not make a mess. I was skeptical based on some of the reviews but at the end of the day I'm extremely satisfied and I would 100% recommend Curren to anyone looking to get a indoor tank removed. Thank you Curren, Tiffany and Gina.
We used Curren Environmental to remove a heating oil tank which had been empty for 25+ years at my parents' house. Curren called to schedule a date for the tank removal which conflicted with my schedule. I expressed to them that I definitely wanted to be there to watch a process which may lead to costing us thousands of dollars. Curren said that they would call me back when they had an opening to reschedule. The next contact that I had with Curren was a few weeks later from the engineer. She stated in so many words "We removed the tank yesterday and found contamination". I was very upset that after specifically stating that I wanted to watch the work being done, they went to our property, which was vacant at the time, without notifying me. I wanted to see the steps involved and have them explained to me. The engineer stated that she had send me an email indicating the date of tank removal. I had been receiving all of her emails up until this point, and no, I did not find her email in a spam or junk folder, as she suggested. She said that because I did not respond to the email, she assumed that the date was ok. I asked her for a copy of that email from her Sent folder, and it was never produced. So we suffered through the remediation process, having the whole backyard ripped up and tons of soil brought in, costing, yes, thousands of dollars. The whole time, Curren placated me saying, don't worry, you can apply to the state for a grant which will pay for most of the work. After waiting 3 years, our application to the state of NJ finally was considered. What Curren did not tell us was that the criteria for receiving any money is very strict. Only if the liabilities of the estate exceeded its assets, would you be considered for any amount of reimbursement. So because we kept the estate debt-free, the meager amount that we received from the sale of the house was considered an asset, therefore rendering us ineligible for any payment. So needless to say, this company failed when it came to earning my trust, and for that reason I would NOT recommend them to anyone.
Response from Curren Environmental, Inc.
Curren Environmental has been in business for over 25 years and we take our reviews seriously. We did this project 2-26-2020, over 3 years ago. The project at 135 Dietz Street, Cranford NJ, was removing a tank no one had used in 25 years. Meaning a buried metal oil tank was left to rust for 25 years. Oil leaked out, likely over the last 25 years or possible before which is why the tank was no longer used. Like a tube of toothpaste tanks are NEVER EMPTY (it had 80 gallon when it was removed). Perhaps if the tank was removed 20 years ago it would not have had time to leak. But this tank did leak, remediation was performed the owner received an NFA on 7-7-20 which closes out the contamination issue with the NJDEP. Online it looks like the house sold in December of 2020. We have not heard from this client since the property received the NFA. <br><br>They apparently had no insurance coverage for the tank, which is not unusual. Curren informed them about the NJDEP leaking tank grant and helped them complete the application as we do all our clients at zero cost. July 2023 the NJDEP Leaking Oil Tank Grant was not approved for this property and they complain & give Curren one star review. Not great job on the tank removal & remediation & thank you for getting the NFA to allow us to sell the property. Curren does not run the state grant for leaking oil tanks & provides all our clients with the stipulations regarding approvals. Applicants can’t have income over $250,000/year and a net worth over $500,000, excluding the applicant’s primary residence & retirement money. This information about the stipulations was communicated to the client & to all clients when the grant program is discussed. Quite frankly we do not want to know your personnel financial details but if you say you meet the requirements we help with the application. We also have in an email dated back in March 2020 where the tank grant requirements were outlined. Curren kept communicating up to July of 2023 when the NJDEP finally reviewed the application. Curren wanted to make sure that the application was in the hands of the state for the long approval process. We are assuming that their net worth exceeded $500,000 and that is why the application was denied. NJ has an exceptional grant program but there are financial restrictions, as the grant is a hardship grant. Now the program is so popular there is about a 3 year wait to be reviewed so that statement is 100% true.<br><br><br>The project ran smoothly, & we have not heard back from the owner of this property until today 3 years later. Curren communicated the requirements for the grant program regarding leaking oil tanks. If you didn’t qualify, that is not on Curren Environmental. The client submitted the application 100% knowing what the requirements were and apparently the application was denied. <br><br>So sorry the grant did not work out, but Curren cannot control government. We are happy you received an NFA and were able to sell the home.<br>
Very unprofessional services. I paid $3500 for them to remove mold from the basement. When I come to check out the work there was white spray all over the place that did not come off after cleaning. I had to pay $500 out of pocket to get the basement repainted. See picture. When my agent called them to ask about it the rep said read the "fine print" and that you have to paint over it. Isn't this something a half decent company would tell their customers upfront before starting the work? Also, how hard is it to cover the floor before spraying? It's common sense. Seems very lazy to me and corner cutting without regard for customer satisfaction. Would never use again or refer.
Response from Curren Environmental, Inc.
Ok we have no client in our system named Phuong Pham. If you are going to give a negative comment, please take a photo of ANY paperwork between Curren and yourself to back it up that you actually dealt with Curren. That said, there was a photo, so we looked it up and we recently did a basement mold remediation at 1012 Kresson Road Cherry Hill NJ. We were contracted with another party and the remediation cost was $2,575.00, plus tax, not $3500, too round of a number. The home appears to have been recently renovated as the online listing (google it). The home was just updated with a BRAND NEW roof and NEWLY PAINTED interior. The basement is unfinished, perfect for you to customize how you want and meet your storage needs.<br><br>So, while the home was updated, the mold in the basement was not addressed but hey they painted the basement floor grey. Curren remediated the basement. The basement floor was newly painted for sure. The entire basement needed mold remediation, which includes applying a white tinted fungistatic coating to the basement exposed wood ceiling, this coating is A+ has a 10 year warranty to resist mold growth. You can’t buy it at any home improvement store and we think it should be applied to all new construction to mold proof homes. It is applied with an airless sprayer, technicians wear a Full-Face respirator, because it is like a fog and you 100% can see remnant material on a floor and it is clearly listed in our paperwork. It also lands on basement walls, but they are white so it matches. We do cover floors, fixtures and stairs but the fog of the spray finds a way to land on the floor. We have ZERO small print in our contracts, you just have to read the paperwork. But again<br><br>But again, Phuong Pham is not a client, never spoke to this person not even emailed and we have no paperwork from this person nor payment. So, anything we discussed was not with Phuong Pham, who wrote the review. Look I am sure this person never had mold remediation done, did not know what to expect and what not to expect? Had they called our office and had a discussion with one of our employees, it would have been explained, as it was explained in the contract, prior to the mold remediation, Curren has no surprises.<br><br>Curren has inspected countless properties for mold and Curren has had to redo mold work other companies have done. Be known that there is no such mold called black mold, there is also no white or grey mold, so many people hype mold, Curren does not. People say they are licensed and certified mold company, well only 11 states have mold regulations and NJ, PA & DE do not and we work in these states. Why do I say this, because we are honest and straight forward, we put things in writing so there is no confusion, we also do work that carries a 10 year warranty.<br><br>Curren has been in business for close to 30 years, we do 1000’s of projects a year. We don’t get a ton of reviews, but I was just informed the few bad reviews we have were not clients. Contracts and payments were also through another party, so Phuong Pham had no contact with Curren. Trust me we care, as this response is proof.
we reached out to Curren to remove an oil tank on a house we were about to purchase. There was enough time for all of this to be completed before we moved in, but we are still dealing with them 2 weeks later. They were nice and great initially but turned out to be a nightmare. The previous owners had billing issues as they were taking care of this as part of our inspection process. Curren said they didn’t pay and they did. Curren spoke about one service then after the removal of the tank they tried to charge for removal of sand in addition to NOT putting back our fence. After back and forth and several witness of what they initially said they were going to do vs what they tried to bill us extra for they came to remove the tank and some what complete the project. They refused to put our fence back which they took out to start this service. And I guess for professionalism, they decided to destroy our front lawn while removing the tank. They started out great but 1 star for customer service and professionalism, borderline scammers. Do not use! absolute disgrace
Response from Curren Environmental, Inc.
Coincidentally we recently did a project where a fence was involved. If this is the property, I can tell a story. Client hired Curren to conduct a tank sweep, no one wants to buy a property with a hidden oil tank they leak and a small leak can cost 8k to 15k. We found a tank before the buyers bought the house so our initial client tells owner to remove tank. So we did an awesome job, finding a hidden tank and saved the buyers from buying the house with the tank. That is where our involvement with the buyer ended, which also appears to be the person complaining.<br><br>So now owners of the property (seller) hired Curren to remove the tank (so now our client is the owner who is selling). When we removed the tank it was found to be filled with oil impacted sand, that had to be disposed of, which can take a few weeks from date of removal to perform. So, before the tank project is done, meaning no one pushed settlement back because of the found tank, the buyers buy the house. Buyers have no report from Curren saying the job is done and clearly a pile of oil contaminated sand on the property is a sign that the job is not done, oh and the fence still needs to be put back up. So now our client has sold the house and is incommunicado. Like not paying for work, not getting us paperwork for the disposal of the soil.<br><br>We have no idea who is going to pay for the oil contaminated sand disposal. New owner apparently assumes the old owner will. Old owner basically disappears for a few weeks. We assume the buyers attorney found him and gets them to pay, so we remove the soil. Now this tank was behind the house and a fence had to be taken down to access the area. Our client the old owner was informed as part of the tank removal contract, they are responsible for the fence and for landscaping, grass topsoil the usual stuff since we had to drive across front yard to backyard, no helicopter air drop of equipment.<br><br>Well the seller took the house sale proceeds and ran and is leaving the new owner to address this. Yep we are entirely in the middle here, seller doesn’t want to spend any money, new owner doesn’t want to spend money either and really likely shouldn’t, but that is contingent on their agreement with the seller. Bottom line they need a fence company to reset the fence (We hear this all the time, but fence companies are expensive, can’t Curren do the fence?).<br><br>We are a great environmental company, saved these people from buying a house with an oil tank, but are we fence people, nope we don’t do fences. This was clearly stated to the seller, who didn’t tell buyer, also didn’t tell buyer about landscaping either. Apparently the new owners can’t install fence either, so we get a unjustified 1 star review. It also appears, sadly, that the seller was less than upfront regarding how they were leaving the property. Really money should have been placed in escrow for the buyers to use to hire a fence company and landscaper.<br><br>We have no client in our system with the name Dana Walters, and no address was provided, but we are assuming she is related to this story. We also see she has zero reviews of any other business in her profile either positive or negative, so our Google listing allows her to have a bully pulpit and complain because the person she bought the house from did not explain what they were paying for. That said we take all feedback both seriously.
We had hired them to look for septic and oil tanks prior to closing on our home. The report came back clean. After closing on the house we had plumbing work done and discovered we are in fact, on septic. This was a deal breaker for us purchasing a home. They’ve been unresponsive and unprofessional after several attempts to contact them. They even tried billing us twice. Not only do we want our money back, they should be liable for the sewer hook up costs. How can you call yourself a tank sweep company and completely miss a septic tank? I’d give 0 stars if it was an option. EDIT 8/10/21 We only communicated through E-Mail. No one ever got back. When we asked for the service we specifically asked for septic and oil tank sweep. It would have been nice to have let us known right then and there that you do not do a septic sweep. As per the other due dilligence, we asked our realtor and listing agent at least 5 times to confirm the house was on public water, which they said it was. I have no idea what listing you are looking at, but all of the listings we have found stated it was on public sewer. We're first time buyers and did every inspection and thensome required to buy the home. We were not in a rush to buy, we've been looking for over a year before we found a place that was in the area we wanted and was listed as public sewer. The entire point of the tank sweep was to make sure the listing agent was correct and that there was no septic. In the future, when someone askes for an oil and spetic sweep, maybe point out right away that you do not sweep for septics. Septic tanks are still an environmental matter.

Had to look this one up, and ask around the office, we don’t have any record of any phone calls, from this client, but that is not to say they didn’t try and contact our office. We try and get back to everyone, but can we miss a phone call here and we are human. So, we apologize if you called and no one got back to you, although I think someone would remember that Curren got blamed for not finding a septic tank, especially since we don’t do scans for septic tanks.<br><br>Septic is a plumbing matter and Curren Environmental is not in the plumbing business. There are cameras that you can insert in a sewer line to trace a line. This house is located at 732 S 2nd Avenue, in Galloway, NJ. The online sales listing (Just google the address) for this property clearly states that the site is on PRIVATE SEWER SYSTEM meaning septic. 732 2ND Ave, Galloway Township, NJ 08205 | MLS 503682 | Listing Information | Long & Foster (longandfoster.com)<br><br>Covid-19 has created such a seller’s market, that many home buyers are waiving inspections so they can buy the home (you have all read about it). Inspections are also called “due diligence”, which in short, is what a reasonable person would do to evaluate a property before purchase. You might complete a home inspection, termite inspection, this house had a pool so you might do a pool inspection as well. When you don’t do inspections, it puts buyers at risk of purchasing an uninspected property. Buyer Beware. I have no idea what other inspections were performed by this buyer but a home inspection would surely reference septic system on site, as did the public sales listing. If septic was a concern, how can you buy a property and not ask if the house is on septic or city sewer. Could you not call the Municipal Utilities Authority to see if the property is a customer? Could you not have a plumber inspect the property for city sewer or septic? Any buyer can ask for quarterly utility bills to evaluate and budget for monthly expenses. If you don’t have a sewer bill, well then you likely own the sanitary system (septic).<br><br>During the process of buying a home, these are all good ideas but just reading the public sales listing would answer your question regarding if the property had septic. Hiring a company to look for an oil tank and then saying a septic inspection should also be performed, well that makes zero sense.<br><br>We are an environmental company and perform tank sweeps and/or scans for buried oil tanks when real estate is bought and sold. The benefit of a scan is to evaluate for an undisclosed oil tank (We always tell clients to ask the owner regarding any oil tanks as we cannot find removed tanks). So, we are looking for cylinder shaped steel tank. Evaluating for septic systems is not a service we perform, nor was Curren contracted for by this individual to search for a septic tank, it was for an oil tank. Why don’t we do septic? Septic systems are completely different from oil tank systems, they have different physical properties than a tank. It is also a pretty basic fact when you buy a home to know what kind of sewer system the home has. But why look for a septic tank just flush a toilet and trace the line to see where it goes? Any plumber could figure out if a home is on septic. So, the contract was for an oil tank scan, zero reference in the contract and subsequent report refers to any septic scan, evaluation, etc. We don’t do chimney inspections either, so that would have been something Curren wouldn’t have performed either.
Shady, trying to hide a home heating oil spill for a bank, their client's property is heavily contaminated all they did was remove the rotted tank and soil beneath it, left contaminated soil in driveway for weeks, tank in front yard, to be rained on, lakefront property! Terrible!

Well this review answers the question of the man who called our office today asking about information on his neighbor's property. Curren Environmental will always refer call ins to the actual property owner to answer questions directly. As the information between Curren and clients is confidential. Apparently since our office would not discuss the property particulars (I am sure if you called a doctors office they would not share patient information) Mr. Wilkins waved his review might. Mr. Wilkins is not a client of Curren's so he would unfortunately have had no interaction to know our quality of service. This is akin to writing a bad review of a restaurant you have never visited.<br><br>For those of you who have read this far, please note that any documents sent to a state agency such as the NJDEP or a local municipality (Construction office) are available for public review by completing a FOIA request (Freedom of Information Act) or OPRA (Open Public Records Request) or you can simply contact your neighbor and ask them what is going on. Real important if a site is contaminated you may also obtain the state clearance letter, in NJ you can search www.njdataminer.com for a wealth of information on your neighbor's or properties you may want to purchase.<br><br>For bank owned properties the local tax assessor can provide a contact name and number and many bank owned properties also have a sticker on the door with a contact number to call.
This company has horrible customer service. The office manager Linda is rude and evasive when I called to complain about workers leaving cigarettes butts, and smoking while sitting on my patio furniture. I called to speak with a manager and was told no one was available and Linda stated she couldn't give me a name only the owner. Linda, offered no assistance or concern when I advised her items were missing from my property since work had begun. Stay away from this company.
