EDIT about 3 months after original 5 star review: Eric Burrell performed a "Termite, Pest, & Rodent Inspection" prior to us purchasing our house. The report we were given stated that while there was some concern regarding minor insect damage to the exterior of the home, the interior is fine, & there was ZERO sign of rodent activity. He was very friendly, but apparently quite a bit more concerned with getting a 5 star review to earn a steak dinner (mentioned several times) than actually doing…

Owner Response

We’re truly sorry to hear about your situation and the stress you’re experiencing. No homeowner should have to deal with unexpected issues, and we genuinely empathize with the frustration and fear that can come with major home concerns, especially while managing serious health challenges.
At the same time, we need to be clear and firm about the facts:
During the inspection performed four months ago, no rodent activity was present.
A standard termite inspection that you purchased is very limited in scope and limited to only areas that are accessible and observable.
We immediately reached out to the home inspector who was also on-site that day, and he confirmed the same; no signs of rodents were observed anywhere in the home at that time.
Your initial communication with us requested $6,000 in reimbursement, and this public review now references $12,000, which raises serious concerns about accuracy and intent.
Our termite and pest inspector is a senior professional with over 20 years of experience, known for being thorough, direct, and personable. He reported clear, professional communication with you during the inspection and with absolutely no indication of the conditions now being described by you.
We’re also concerned that the company currently advising you may be misrepresenting what is truly necessary and failing to relay very important information to you regarding what is common knowledge in our industry. That rodents and small animals attempt to enter homes during fall and winter, especially in century‑old farmhouses. These seasonal intrusions can develop very rapidly, even in homes with no prior signs of activity. Omitting such information from a customer is not being honest and can be very influential in a customer's decision to move forward with expensive services not necessarily needed.
We have no interest in diminishing your frustration, but the claims in your review do not align with the documented facts from the time of inspection, nor with standard patterns of pest activity. We stand by the integrity of our inspector and the accuracy of the report provided at the time of service.

We wish you both quick recoveries and hope your home situation improves quickly.

Sincerely,
PestX
