Fox Pest Control Iowa City

Have been very pleased with Fox Pest Control. No mice like last season since they started. Very few spiders. What they do has been effective.

At first I'd thought to cancel my subscription as I didnt want the chemicals to destroy my fire flys or other helpful insects. But then your representative told me about using natural fragrances like peppermint and the like. I decided then to go ahead with the subscription.

What a great experience today. He arrived on time with a big smile. Then he sprayed every nook and cranny. Very professional and quick. Great company to take care of your bug problems!

This is a great company. The technician that he that came to my house. He was fantastic. His name was matt he did everything. They even took my cobwebs down for my garage, which has been there for a long time because I couldn’t get to them very pleasant. Very helpful. A great guy.

Very patient and helpful. Making sure I was satisfied and all questions were answered. Covered areas of my concern with no push back. Have seen very few bugs since I have chosen them. Ant problem gone!

Sales representative was professional. The workers who came to do the spraying kept me notified and updated their progresses occasionally.

Skylar Willis and another man helped put traps/bait in one garage and sprayed around house. He took photo of one area where mice had chewed that we plan to address soon. Glad he called it to our attention. We questioned him about mole control and I think he said that wasn’t covered? Please advise.

The men and women that spray our yard do a great and thorough job. They even take care of the cobwebs. Very happy with the service.

George was very polite and professional. He took the tme to explain what he was doing and completed same very quickly.

I'm happy to see others had a good experience. I on the other hand did not. If I had to sum up my experience based on what all the good reviews have said, I would say it looked as if no one even showed up. Thanks for trying. At least I opted out of my contract enough to save a little money.

We started with this company they said they came out for spraying but never was inside our home. Then when called to complain they charged 250.00 termination fee when they were in breach of the contract. Will never recommend this company to anyone

Very disappointed with this company. They haven’t succeeded with getting rid of bugs, they are impossible to get ahold of. The service person gave me his personal phone number which did not have voice mail, and he did not respond to a text, assuming he no longer works for the company. I tried to cancel and was told I would be charged $250. I left messages on the link they provided and never received an answer, when I talked to the company and told them this they said that was an old link and they would get it updated, still not updated. I have left 2 more voicemails to the phone message they recently left and have not gotten a response. Very disappointing

We got one treatment, did not do a thing. The bugs were almost worse, called several times left messages and emails, talked to customer service was supposed to get phone call back, took days, and then weeks to get any response, then canceled and got charged early cancelation fee paid over $600 for nothing..I would not recommend this company....

Worst company ever has contractors solicit in towns illegally without permits and then contractors forget to tell there is $250 cancellation fee. Would highly not recommend this company to anyone!!!

DO NOT USE FOX PEST CONTROL. If they come to your door tell them no 3 times they will most likely back off. I mistakenly bought their services and they have been a pain to deal with. They give don’t even give you a days notice when they are coming. In my case they just didn’t even show up and I had my pet indoors all day waiting for them. They failed to cancel my appointment and when I called admitted they just forgot to cancel. I called the next day to cancel my contract with no 150$ fee since they broke the agreement. I explained everything to the lady on the phone and she said she couldn’t even do anything and told me someone would call me to cancel my contract. They never called. Fox Pest Control is unprofessional and a complete scam. Save your money and find a local business to use.

It appears that some initial problems were corrected, however this service has not been without issues & no firm opinion of this pest control company has been formed. Update Part 2: He told me that if my understanding was that my initial payment covered June, July and August he was going to call his manager, explain the situation and ask his manager to credit me July and August's payment. He also said the salesmen don't always explain things properly and sometimes mis-state things. I said, "You mean lie". He didn't respond. After speaking with his manager, he said I would be credited July and August's payments. I did not receive a credit back on my credit card, rather, on August 13, I received another Fox charge to my credit card of $64.20. I called Fox in Iowa City, spoke with a young lady, reiterated past conversations and told her my understanding was that I was not going to be billed for July or August, that I still had an ant & mouse problem and I had recently killed 2 more mice in my garage. She said she would check into the July and August credits and send somebody up. I asked her to have the technician call an hour before his scheduled arrival time to insure I was available to meet with him. I told her the first time Fox came I they called15 minutes ahead when I was the shower and again 7 minutes later. She assured me she would. Mathew was scheduled to come to my home on Monday, August 18. It was pouring down rain.from Fox. . . . . He called from my driveway at 9:20 a.m. I met him outside in the rain. He asked how things were so far. I reiterated everything that had (or hadn't) gone on to date. He said If I was that dissatisfied, he was going to talk to his manager and get me released from the contract. I said, "Great". He asked if he could take a look around before he left. I said, "You bet". He put more Xclude packing to prevent mice from entering our home in a spot where Kevin had earlier put a little Xclude. That was on the west side of the house. Mathew checked both bait stations. There was some evidence that mice had been at them this time. He said because of the weather he couldn't put down anything to deal with the ant and spider issues I was having, and he wasn't going to put down any more bait stations because he was going to ask his manager to release me from the contract. I said fine. That was 16 days ago. On the 19th, (the day after Mathew had been at my house) I got a call from a secretary saying she had just found the note in my file about being credited for July and August payments. I haven't heard ANYTHING further from Fox: nothing about being released from the contract: nothing about my ant, mice, and now spider issues, just a text, “Thank you for choosing Fox Pest Control Iowa City Please provide your feedback . . . " Yesterday, after buying flying insect killer I killed 150-200 flying ants congregated under my trash can. I sent this review directly to Fox a week ago so they would have a chance to respond & make things right. I haven't heard one word Craig Ament, Cedar Falls, Iowa

Poor communication. Called to cancel after paying $160 for a 20 minute treatment of a my home. Still had crickets. They didn't cancel after I called, and then I was charged another $53 for a maintenance fee. In case they need to come back between treatments. I signed up for after some nice young fella came to the door. I don't like leaving 1 star reviews. This ranks up there with dealing with the cable company. I have better things to do with my time than wait on the phone for no reason, send emails that aren't answered, and write reviews.

I'd give zero stars if I could. Their sales rep named Rylan is terrible! I read that he has been banned from the town of Monticello because of all the complaints in regards to his sales tactics. He has harassed me twice, the latest was at 9:30pm on July 3rd. I had to tell him three times to get off my property. When he finally began to leave & drive off on his electric scooter, he gave me a very snarky attitude saying as he drove off "Well, excuse me sir for bothering you!" I never asked him to solicit me at 9:30pm over the 4th of July holiday. He then drove off into the night on his scooter onto a main road, his scooter had no lights on it. Also, if you have a video doorbell and he rings it and you try to talk to him though it, he won't answer you. He also won't give you a business card and he will want an answer from you right there and then. Rylan from Fox Pest Control is the worst outside sales rep that I have ever come across!

My initial service was great. The tech Greg was helpful and quick. HOWEVER, the door to door salesmen who sold me my package failed to mention that i would be paying a MONTHLY fee on top of the 4 service fees. I was never shown any documentation whatsoever on what i would be charged for and when, i was just told my price per service and then told to sign when i agreed. My first monthly bill was a shock. The salesman, in his sales speech, was able to use my neighbor's names, which he got from who knows what, and straight up lied to me about how they also signed up. Insane marketing strategy. Feels illegal tbh They also don't tell you that if you want to cancel you have to pay an early termination fee AND pay back any discounts you were given on sign up. One of the worst contracts ive had to read, especially since not a word of this was ever mentioned to me, i had to find this out a month later when i dug into my account. Do not sign up for this company's service.
