Northern States Pest and Weed Control

Original call was four weeks before they finally got out here. We had mice inside and told them so. Service tech was great. They charged us a whopping $306 and change to set traps we already owned from previous owners who’d used this company, and to spray inside and out for spiders and ants. All future calls would be at a rate of $151.76 every 8 weeks for spraying and then $75 every two weeks to reload mouse traps if needed plus a call charge which the woman in the phone couldn’t quote me. I was referred to them by our neighbor and previous homeowners from five years back. I felt taken advantage of so I said I would shop around. I called Pointe Pest Control and spoke with the nicest guy. He quoted me a reasonable price of $120 initial because we’d just had a service and then $45 for each visit after with free visits in between calls if we saw anything. Shame on you Northern Pest for taking advantage of senior citizens with a 775 area code. We’ve been locals for 6 years. I am one unhappy x-customer. And I won’t be referring you.

Mike just blasted our log home for carpenter ants and did a fantastic job. Very professional and thorough. Kudos for Mike. Give the guy a raise.

This company is top notch for pest control services! We have been customers for a few years and they never fail to deliver great service! Not only is their pricing fair, but their technicians are thorough, professional, and kind. They take the time to get the job done well and notice small details that others skip over. Our technician, Gabe, was very thoughtful and precise while treating our home. This family centered company is from the area and we are happy to support local businesses!

This is a review for their mosquito product. They use a highly toxic ingrediant called Bifenthrin. It has high neurotoxicity to pets and potentially human. It has a long half life which means it could stay in your soil for a long time. When I asked them if the product is safe for poultries they said yes. But that's not true. They should switch to more environmentally healthy products. Do your own research.

I called several times requesting a quote but never received a call back or email. Extremely disappointed with the lack of communication and responsiveness. I can't recommend their services based on my experience.

I spent $600 to treat for bed bugs after 2 treatments I saw no difference and when I called them about it they said they would call me back that was a month ago

I have been using Northern States Pest Control since 2000. They have always provided me with the best service, on time, on budget. You can't ask for better.

Excellent service

They were able to swing by and do a quick spray of my mom's kitchen to get rid of her sugar ants. We're scheduled for a thorough inspection in a week. Very happy that they were willing to accommodate her.

Awesome service ! Long time local business with technicians who are friendly but more importantly know which products to safely use that have the lowest environmental impact but still get the job done right the first time around.

Two very lame experiences with this company: Came to my residence because I had a problem with ants. They sprayed around the foundation which was fine, then said that the ants were of the "sugar" variety and not carpenter (which I knew already) so not to worry. The ants were still getting into my bedroom and they did nothing to try to locate the entry points and spray there. I had ants everywhere. I called them back but got no response. I ended up doing it myself and had to climb around outside with security ropes on the roof to do the job properly. Very sloppy work. My second encounter was at my new residence when my wife contacted them to blow out the water in our underground sprinkler system before winter. Turns out that they did not do that properly either. My neighbor just happened to come over to my house and hook-up his compressor to my system and started blowing out water. This was not just misty spray for a few seconds..., the system was full-on and pumping water for several minutes. When I called the company to complain the receptionist said that we'd get a refund and the owner would call me back. A field tech called me that same day and went on to explain that a little water was ok, and he had years and years of experience blah blah blah. No apologies or offers of returning to check it out. Also: never got a refund or call from the owner. Very unprofessional, very sloppy work.

Love the staff, super friendly and helpful

If you have a pest problem, call these guys! Northern States was recommended to me for our mouse problem. We live in a little outdated farm house, with a million and one access points for critters to get in. We called Northern States, they were able to come out the next day, while I was at work no less, and take care of business. They were very considerate of the fact that I have cats, and communicated what we needed to do to keep them from accessing any poison themselves. Within a day or two, we stopped seeing any indication of mice. Prior to calling them, they were EVERYWHERE. Here we are more than a year later, and we've discovered we have some tiny visitors again. I called NS this morning and they'll be there tomorrow to clean em out again! They're affordable, professional, and so friendly! I have absolutely loved doing business with them, and the best part is aside from making the vermin disappear, I'd never even know they were in my home! Thank you for making my home, MY home again!!!
