I'm incredibly disappointed in the professionalism of this company. My mother hired them to do all aspects of yard care. Last week a man came out and under the direction of "cut back anything without a flower" he completely destroyed her yard while it was in FULL GLORY, cutting back 10 ft gorgeous shrubs to 2 ft nubs, trimming a pine tree up to the fence line (which will not grow back and looks ridiculous), cut back mums before they even bloomed, destroyed a beautiful dogwood tree, removed all parts of plants that only bloom on deadwood - etc, etc., literally taking the joy of autumn and pride of home from a 77 year old, not to mention negatively impacting the seasons to come. I gave the account manager, Fred, an opportunity to explain how it could happen, however, he chose not to respond or make any attempt to take ownership. My guess is they just hire day laborers without specific training? I'm only left to assume, however, I would strongly advise against spending this kind of money for that kind of work. Response: That is inaccurate. My mother lives in a nice neighborhood with a strict HOA. While I appreciate your need to paint it as such, her yard had not been previously neglected, in fact, those trees had been serviced every year. I have photos, as well. Shall I post them here and poll the internet on whether it is “industry standard”? Do you “feel” like cutting mums before they bloomed is “industry standard”? Do you “feel” like cutting back beautiful bushes that were planted in the last year down to 2 feet in the beginning of September is “industry standard”? Do you “feel” like a prune job like that was merited before the leaves even changed? Do you “feel” like it was appropriate to take such DRASTIC measures without telling the property owner? I had been on her property the day before your hack job. You are just showing more of your (lack of) professionalism, in my opinion. My review stands. I did reach out to you last week and was told the account manager would contact me back. He did not.
Provider response
Ms. Jordan
Please reach out to our office. Our accounts of the situation are much different then described above. We performed our work to industry standards and have photos to document that we will gladly share with you. While we understand that your mother may "feel" like too much plant material was removed, we were simply trying to reign in the property from years of poor care. Considering we were only on property for 2.5 months, we were starting to make some significant progress for the good.

I would prefer to have this conversation in person if you are willing to reach out.
Info@blueribbonlandscapes.com
208-466-5656

Thanks for your time.

Will Not Use This Company Again - I have used this sprinkler service twice, both times the service has been sub-par. The first time the service person arrived later than the scheduled time, was incompetent causing 2 sprinkler heads to be blown off, I had to replace both sprinkler heads due to this. This year, 2024 I called a head of time and requested the sprinkler blow out to be done and was told I was on the list. When the person finally arrived it was late into the blowout season and after the line had frozen, which at that point the employee did not seem to know what to do. I had to assist in the process by providing warm water to unfreeze the line so the blowout could be completed. The employees that arrived to blow out the sprinklers both times were filthy dirty and proved to be incompetent at the job. Not to mention the price was more than quoted when I received the bill.
Provider response
Ms. Lee
Can you please contact our office for clarification? First we don't find a record of you receiving service from us. What account would we find it under? Second, we finished all of our prescheduled blowouts by November 8th, long before any water froze in irrigation systems. We do charge more for clients that call in after certain deadlines, which we assume by the timing of your review was what happened.

Please let us know which account this is for, and we will gladly remove you from our blowout reminder list for next year.

Email: Info@blueribbonlandscapes.com

Worst landscaping crews ever. half the time work paid for does not get done correctly and they make a mess in other peoples yards that they are not working on.
Provider response
Mr. Stump

Sorry for your frustration with our services adjacent your home. We would appreciate the opportunity to remedy our actions. Can you provide the details of the situation, as in what community we manage that you are referencing?

Please reach out directly. Thank you.
Email: Info@blueribbonlandscapes.com

Best Practices are not in play at this company. The HOA hired them and they use grass killer to border common area fences. Unfortunately it also poisons everything on the other side of the fence, grass, plants, vegetables. Try using a weed whacker, takes longer, cost more but is less destructive.
Provider response
We are sorry you feel this way.

We have adopted this as a best practice to care for fence lines. We receive far more complaints about damage caused by weed eaters on and around fences than we ever have from managing these weeds with spray applications, and I would argue it is much more destructive long term.

Please reach out to your association or contact our office if you have further concerns.

Regards

I’m done with this place. Avoid. They “tried” to make it right, hired on more people, and I’m back to where we started. They charged me $7,000 for sprinklers and yard. We didn’t want sprinklers, and they did part of them anyways and are charging us. We literally proved to them we didn’t want it, didn’t ask for it, and their project manager confirmed this. I told them we wanted $3500 worth of work and we’re quoted that for our grass, and their updated bill is $5500 this time. I can’t afford this! We told you that from the first minute. There were no secrets and we told them multiple times over, but they won’t hear me out. I’ll pay what I was quoted, but this company has been a disaster for us. It’s not worth it. I tried and wanted and we rechecked and the staff LITERALLY AGREED WITH ME and I’m still getting $2,000 extra. 5/11/2022 Despite coming to terms with their owner, I’m still getting bills. I’ve overpaid my $3500 request, and am in the hole about $5200+ And still getting billed! But nobody can produce payment records besides me. Strange.

Dustin
Thanks for taking the time to write such a thorough review. I sincerely apologize for the experience you had with our company. This has been a difficult year for us, and there has been no shortage of client concerns specifically related to communication. I won’t go into details here, but feel free to reach out for more explanation if you desire. I hope you will consider us again for your needs despite your experience. I know the next time will go better! Thanks!

Hans Ellis, Owner.

Poor communication
Provider response
Not sure what this is about, but if you called last week at all, we had every person dealing with the near 20” of snow over the course of several nights. Many managers worker 24-36 hrs.

Work that they do seems very good. Communication with people living in area where work is being done... deplorable. Very dissapointed that they could be so bothered and rude when dealing with a resident living in one of their jobsites. Word of mouth seems important in today's job market...
Provider response
Chris
Could
You please let us know more about this situation? What neighborhood you live in? Do you remember the truck? Etc. we would like to follow up with our team. Thanks!

As incompetent as I have ever seen in a business. Want to blame anyone or anything they can for their inability to do job correctly. There is a whole lot more to landscape and maintenance then mowing some grass and planting a couple trees. These guys apparently do not realize that.
Provider response
Mr. Shoemaker. Perhaps you have a different company in mind. We have no record of a lead or any work having been done for you. Please provide us with some reference, or kindly remove this review.
Thanks!
Chris
Their web address link kicked me to some malware site..... :(
Provider response
Chris, You were correct. Our website was hacked during that time, and as soon as we found out we had it fixed. Sorry for any issues this may have caused you.
