I’m so frustrated bc the job itself is fine - but the agreement that the gates would be closed were completely disregarded and gate was left wide open leaving lives in danger - if you have no pets or children, may still be ok for you

Poor to no service, broken promises along with missed appointments is their company model. When we attempted to cancel our contract due to their inability to handle our pest problem, we were quoted over $300.00 to cancel. Now we are stuck paying for their incompetence. Stay far away. The drama gets better every day. After writing this review, the pest control technician showed up unannounced as we were on the phone complaining to customer service calling them out for lying to us saying he was on his way the day before 2 separate times. When Jerrod found out the technician was on site, he called him telling the technician to refuse us treatment. Apparently Jerrod was upset since he was caught up with his own lies. To the owner. The contract was under my fiancé’s name. Vicky Medford. Customer service has a full account concerning the lies and coverups of your poor customer service.

Provider response

Richard we do not have any account under your name. If you have any further questions or concerns, please give our office a call.

If I could give a lower rating, I would. Terrible service, we had no change in pests, even after the second time and when we tried to cancel it, the phone just rang without answer, or get transferred and then they put the phone down. Eventually got contacted because payment was stopped. Once on this call, they wanted to extort an additional $140 to "close the account" which is "Cancel Anytime" and even more money after another email was sent to cancel. When asked to escalate the issue to the manager or owner, they refused. Do NOT use this company! SCAMMERS!

I signed a contract with Quell Pest Control on October 16, 2025, for pest control services at three properties. What followed was a nightmare of ineffective service, dishonest billing practices, and shocking unprofessionalism. **THE SERVICE FAILURE:** After the initial service on October 16, I was plagued by a severe ant infestation in my kitchen and bathroom at 6 Cottonwood Dr. The treatment did nothing. I requested a second visit, which occurred on October 21. Still, the problem persisted and actually got WORSE. By October 28, just 12 days after the first treatment, the ant activity was extremely high—as bad as or worse than before I hired them. Their products clearly don't work, or they're not applying them correctly. When I called on October 28 to express my concerns, the supervisor refused to even tell me WHAT PRODUCTS they were using, saying I'd have to wait until November 3rd. This lack of transparency raised serious red flags about whether they were using the right products at all. **THE UNPROFESSIONAL CONDUCT:** When I told the supervisor I wanted to cancel due to dissatisfaction, he HUNG UP ON ME—abruptly, dramatically, mid-conversation. No professional goodbye. No acknowledgment of my concerns. Just a hard disconnect. This is not how professional businesses treat customers. I then sent clear text messages requesting the cancellation invoice and contract before any charges were made to my card. My exact words: "I told you not to process it until I receive the invoices and contract. I want to take care of this directly." **THE UNAUTHORIZED CHARGES:** Despite my explicit written instructions NOT to process any charges until I received documentation, Quell Pest Control charged my American Express card approximately 15 minutes later: - $538.00 for cancellations - $30.00 for "service" - TOTAL: $833.00 They claimed the system "automatically" processed the charges because I was on autopay. That is NOT valid authorization. I had given direct, written instructions not to do this. This is unauthorized billing. **THE THREATS:** When I indicated I would dispute the charges with my credit card company, the company responded with this threat: "If disputed you will be sent to collections. Have a great day!" Threatening a customer with collection action for exercising their legal right to dispute fraudulent charges is retaliatory conduct and appears to violate consumer protection laws. **THE CORPORATE FAILURE:** I called their corporate office to escalate this matter. The person I spoke with ("Queen") refused to escalate or address any of my concerns. Instead, she attempted to justify the supervisor's behavior. **MY ADVICE:** - DO NOT sign a contract with this company - DO NOT give them access to your credit card for "autopay" - If you do use them, stay on top of your billing and don't expect professional communication - Their products don't work, at least not at the dosage or method they're using I would give zero stars if possible. This company prioritizes aggressive billing over customer satisfaction. Save yourself the stress and use a different pest control company. ---- Here is there answer to me today (10/28/2025) they don't care customers: Quell Pest 6:52 PM (15 minutes ago) to me David, Just wanted to let you know that as we do not associate ourselves with the BBB we are not required to respond to any complaints. Hi No

I received a call from a pest control company claiming they had serviced this property before and were “checking in with the new homeowner.” They said they were offering a complimentary initial visit and wanted to come out the very next morning. The caller was very insistent about setting up a recurring plan right away — $39 a month, billed quarterly — and kept repeating that it was a “limited-time offer.” When I asked what kind of work they had done here previously, he confidently said they’d treated the attic and the yard several times. That was strange, since the attic was fully remodeled recently and there’s no sign of any past pest company ever being here. When I questioned that, his tone changed. Suddenly, he said he might have been “mistaken” and that they “probably worked on a nearby property instead.” The whole thing felt shady and manipulative. The rep clearly tried to create false familiarity to gain trust and pressure me into signing a contract on the spot. Definitely not a company I’d feel comfortable dealing with.

Like others, I had a very unsavory experience with Quell. I just purchased a home in West Palm two weeks ago. This evening, a rep stopped by and introduced himself saying they used to take care of my home and that the previous owner had already paid the $300 “inspection fee” and we were scheduled for service tomorrow. He said they had been servicing the property up until 3 months ago, when the owner canceled. My house was under renovation over the last year, so I knew this was a lie. I asked about service visits and he said they come every three months for $39 per month. I asked for any sales literature but he said he’d email it to me. He was very pushy and his whole demeanor was very sketchy so I didn’t want to give him my info. I get monitoring home sales and using that info as a sales lead, but just come by and say “Hey, I saw you just bought and wondered if you need a pest control company.” This just seems like a bad sales tactic.

CAUTION ... SCAAAAAAAM I got a call from this company saying the previous landlord told them the house was sold to me and that they used to provide pest control here. They offered me a “first service free” and tried to schedule a visit for the very next day. The rep was very pushy, insisting I sign a $39/month quarterly contract immediately over the phone. When I asked if they had ever been inside the house, he confidently claimed yes, many times, and said he knew the system. That didn’t make sense, since the house already has a built-in pest control system. When I pointed that out, he brushed it off as “only for termites.” I became suspicious, so I told him the previous owner said they didn’t know his company (I made this up to test him). Right away, he changed his story, claiming he never said he serviced the home—only that he had “seen it while passing by.” This was dishonest and misleading. He tried to pressure me into a contract using false claims and then backtracked when caught. ⚠️ Be careful if they call you. I later saw that others have left reviews describing the exact same situation, which makes me believe this is a common tactic they use. Their approach feels scam-like and untrustworthy.

Came to my door claiming that they are the ones that treat the whole community and that the previous owners should have told me and left a paper…. Mind you, we’re new construction. Then proceeded to tell me that I already had a scheduled appointment the following day for inside and out which was another lie. I told him that we already had someone that we’ve been using for years. Asked me what I was paying. I understand trying to build clientele but not like that. Don’t manipulate and lie. It’s a bad look. I wouldn’t recommend. They need to find a better sales tactic!

I hired this company for pest control because my daughter is highly allergic to ants. Unfortunately, we continued to have the same ant problems, and my daughter was even bitten while in bed. I called to cancel the service, and they informed me I would be sent to collections if I refused to pay a $150 cancellation fee. Not once did anyone from the company ask how my daughter was doing after the bite. Instead, they told me it wasn’t their fault their services hadn’t worked and that “it takes time.” I find it unacceptable to pay for a service that shows no results, especially when there’s a health concern involved. I am extremely disappointed in this company. Do not— and I repeat—do not hire them.

Provider response

We genuinely appreciate you sharing your experience, and we're sorry to hear about the challenges you faced. Your daughter's health and safety are incredibly important, and it’s concerning to learn that our service didn’t meet your expectations. We strive to provide effective solutions and support, and it’s clear we fell short in your case. Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and we will use your feedback to improve our services moving forward.

Zero stars!!! Proceed with caution when using Quell. I was told when signing up that the service is $117 per service split out over three months ($39/month) and that I could cancel anytime and just pay for the service that was done. Simple enough. I just needed to sign the contract and they could send someone out. Then when I wanted to cancel for my own personal reasons, this lady expresses to me that the $117 price I was told on the phone is not what I am responsible for, but actually $299 if you cancel prior to the one year. She said she would pull the call logs to see what was said, but then tells me I am not allowed to hear them. I am not going to say that they are a scam, BUT, they will say one thing to get you, then when you read the contract, it says something different. The cancellation policy says that you pay for the initial service. But she is saying I have to pay this made up number of $299 which is labeled "Initial Quote" not "Initial Service". I am not an unfair person, and fine to pay the Initial Service charge, $117 but I am not ok to pay $299 which was never explained to me during the process.

Provider response

Tahir, Thank you for sharing your thoughts, however, your statements are incorrect. We have listened to the recorded call and at no point in the call did we tell you that you could cancel at anytime. This statement is clearly not true. Note that during the recorded phone call you acknowledged the $299 initial quote while reviewing the agreement with our representative. He also acknowledged that he waived this for you signing. If there was anything that was not clear, we apologize, however based on the call it seems very clear. We are more than willing to continue service as you agreed to at $39 per month, however, because you have cancelled you would have to pay the full initial service charge. If you have any questions please give our office a call.

I do not recommend this company under any circumstances. From the start, my experience with Quell Pest Control has been frustrating, confusing, and deeply disrespectful. First, they issued a contract under my husband’s name, but somehow expected me to be responsible for it—even though I am not the legal account holder. I signed as part of the scheduling process, not as a binding agreement. Then they charged my account before the service was even supposed to begin, violating their own contract terms. I later found out the dates were wrong on the agreement—something neither they nor I noticed at first—but when I pointed it out, they still insisted on charging me a $299 cancellation fee. They offered two “free months” as a solution, which I declined because I no longer trust them and didn’t even want their service anymore. I wasn’t even home when they supposedly performed the initial treatment, and pests continued to appear in my home. Despite disputing the charge and filing complaints with state agencies, they continued to send me messages demanding payment. I have felt harassed and pressured repeatedly, and they’ve shown no willingness to take responsibility for their mistakes. This company does not operate with integrity. The customer service is dismissive and unprofessional, and they do not honor fair billing or respectful communication. I would strongly advise anyone to think twice before signing anything with Quell Pest Control.

Provider response

Hi Maria, thank you for your feedback. It does look like you signed the agreement that was listed under your husbands name as per your request. It does appear that there was an error and it was offered to make that situation right, but you did not accept the offer provided. We apologize for any misunderstanding. If you would like to discuss your account further please reach out to our office.
